4061  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant Miner Plus- Group Buy $1000 on: August 23, 2017, 10:19:44 AM
we need to reach MOQ of 200 to get price of $1000
Baikal will refund if MOQ not reached.

can you show us the official words from baikal regarding this? if this is true, I'm in for 10-15 @ $1000, at my door september.. and only with escrow

Seconded. The price would be reasonable, but without confirmation from Baikal this is one of these "too good to be true" type of deals...

Lol. Talked to baikal on skype yesterday on 5 units. Quoted 2.8k usd EACH. Same
Arrival as my 2nd batch bitmain d3 15gh for $2,600. They are clueless

I have a newfound respect for the Winkles and their ability to not say a bunch of stupid shit.

Something I never considered. Good point.
4063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone want to do a Baikal Groupbuy? on: August 22, 2017, 07:31:41 AM
Just contacted bakail on skype...they would not give their name

they are 'fishing' for the best price

I told them I wanted more than one..what was their best price

$2,800 bucks EACH

so raising the price $800 bucks from the last time I asked a couple weeks ago is the solution!

So figure a week to ship...that is 1st week in September...assuming they can do so (did not ask ..just left after that price)

I supposedly will have my 2nd batch 2.6k usd D3 Bitmain unit at 15gh arrive around Sept 15th -25th

yeah.....Baikal's ship has sunk....trying to sell lifeboats to the desperate...before the boat capsizes completely...

Oh...and I did this skype call 8 min ago ...for anyone who wants to play the game with them and get other amusing quoted $$$ prices

4065  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blockstream's Bitcoin Satelite WWW w/ OuterNet USB Reciever. on: August 22, 2017, 04:23:24 AM
So if I have an old satellite cable dish I could theoretically use it to receive blocks from the satellite?

If yes, is there any tutorials you guys are aware of to set that up?

You'd need the OuterNet devices in pic above in thread. Cost probably as much
just to buy the OuterNet package and if the bigger dish is better use it. See their forum links
in thread above, ask there.

4066  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blockstream's Bitcoin Satelite WWW w/ OuterNet USB Reciever. on: August 22, 2017, 04:21:42 AM
I have no knowledge about satellite technology, but my concern is, are those devices capable of transmitting data or for receiving only? Much better if its design in two way link.

Recieve only. But for wallet use w/cell phone likely cheap and untraceable in a corrupt
Country with cell phone prepaid. Comes to mind anyway.

But what if you are in North Korea?  I was wondering if it would be possible to make the first transaction ever in Best Korea now that there are satellites broadcasting the blockchain.

But you say these devices only receive data. If so then how do you broadcast your transaction back into the blockchain if internet is blocked on the entire country and there are no wifi signals or anything? Let alone the fact that there aren't even computers or cellphones.

You would need a tourist to smuggle you a phone with wallet software installed, but even then, what do you exactly do with it?

I wonder who will be the first to manage to broadcast a bitcoin transaction in North Korea, that would be epic.

Every body in 3rd world seems to have cell phone. Or community share. See Venezuela.

They are a lot cheaper than here.

Seems that Bitmain is going to produce ASIC specific chips for the development of Artifical Intelligence projects.

https://qz.com/1053799/chinas-bitmain-dominates-bitcoin-mining-now-it-wants-to-cash-in-on-artificial-intelligence/

NOT sure exactly how this will work as a data hall/farm operation. Better minds then my own can speculate on this.

Please take the poll as well, if you wish.

4069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 21, 2017, 11:18:26 AM
......wtf will they put up for sale next?

Now that they know how many D3s to produce in total, they will put up at least 1,000 on hashnest by end of this month. For around $ 3,000/pc.
It was the same strategy with the L3s.

What are we thinking then strategy wise with the D3's?

Mining related here, what's your 2 cents worth approach ?

Mine the hell out of them and pray that Dash continues to go up.

yeah...I have the 2nd batch I think that 'supposedly' will ship between Sept 15th and Sept 28th....with all the other x11 crap from 5 different mnfg's hitting
the world the 1st week of October..best I can figure. (ouch!)

That beast was $2,600.00 usd

I got the (was it the 4th batch?) that ships the first week in November

thus IF I get unit D3 #1 2 weeks ahead of everyone else in October that slams the difficulty up ...and counting D3 #2 a month after ships first week of November
at $1500 usd ...I MIGHT just MIGHT......get the LTC I put into BOTH back.....

so yeah ...mine the hell out of them and pray that dash continues to go up indeed!!!

(not my wisest move....on either unit D3 #1 or D3 #2...but what can you say...I'm a sucker for a pretty asic) Smiley

Well fellas, get ready for some fun in the next two weeks.

Tomorrow is a solar eclipse.

It's also the day that President Trump announces that we're back into the war game in Afghanistan. A build up of troops and more airstrikes likely. This has secretly been in the planning for months and months by the Deep State. But make no mistake, this is really the precursor to war in the Asia Pacific. Can't have all that pesky surplus oil just sitting around stockpiled in tankers everywhere... gotta burn it somehow.
"When all else fails [to stimulate the economy], you take 'em to war."

Gold market is showing signs of shorts exiting positions.

U.S. Stock market is overheated and showing signs of exhaustion.

U.S. govt about to hit the debt ceiling.... again.

Hedge Funds moving into bitcoin through LedgerX come on line in Sept.

Things are heating up fast. Anything can happen in the coming months.

Hold HODL on to your butts bitcoin!

4071  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: August 21, 2017, 07:18:51 AM
job vs bitcoin (kinda sucks did the math)

in my case

My full-time job (rest is taken care of pay myself,  by mining) all of goes into
my employer's 401k up to 24k (saved on payroll taxes...live on mining income) also save 15k
in medical if I had to pay for my own thru mining business, above and beyond job

Also, if I took soc sec at now at 62. That is a 20% hit off the amount
and you are taxed on soc security of more than 25k with 1/2 being social
security..I'd get reamed...exp mining I make more than 25k cut off on getting
taxed (base)

I also can put up to 34k (can go as high as 58k) into a solo 401k either cash/stocks
or a bitcoin or cytpo only version...more savings....

. So nope.....retirement does not make
any sense with the above...I'd lose about 25k in the process at least...maybe
50k.by not working and retiring and losing options on wage slave job.

Now if by spring BTC hits 10k each and other alts fly up also ..I may just say screw
this and eat the losses on above and retire anyway

Not quite there yet Smiley
4072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BW.com L21 - Litecoin (scrypt) ASIC miner - unofficial speculation thread on: August 21, 2017, 07:05:44 AM
Bitmain is 2K. So it's not that far off, if they can ship before Bitmain does. At least if it's few weeks before.

they have been late before as has bitmain...thou not often.....as of late

already betting on bitmain D3 x11 miner arriving 2 weeks before the rest of the other 5 Mfg's x11 dump in October

thus .....really not sure that was the right move (ack! if they are late)

so roi on that unit will likely depend if I do beat the 2 weeks with those x11 d3 units

again....a hard way to bet....on companies estimated timeline

better probably just to keep your coin and hold imho

whatever the asic flavor on such games...we may be too late into the year now for it to make any sense

4073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 21, 2017, 07:01:56 AM
Well, this is probably known already ...but the D3 lot seems to have finally sold out.....I mean I got on last early am and they still had some yesterday...

so anyway...back to pondering the ways and whatever of bitmain ......wtf will they put up for sale next?

they still had the psu's available for anyone needing those however
4074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BW.com L21 - Litecoin (scrypt) ASIC miner - unofficial speculation thread on: August 21, 2017, 04:08:19 AM
You only have to go few posts back and you see my link to the video that explains everything.
Ordering is done via e-mail.

Would there be enough interest to do a group buy on these?

Probably if they can ship before date Bitmain offers for L3+ when next batch comes out.

yeah but last I heard they want 2,500 bucks....so that is iffy, imho vs an L3+ say in bitmain's next lot

Some of this stuff is just too close to call on ordering..now if they were the same price...well then they likely could clean up beating bitmain

at least for that batch

4075  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blockstream's Bitcoin Satelite WWW w/ OuterNet USB Reciever. on: August 21, 2017, 04:05:48 AM
Since it is set up as a receiver only, can I use it to surf on any website on the internet or it is only used for blockchain or bitcoin transaction? Or can I use it to download but I cannot use it to upload data? Totally no idea here how the sattelite internet works.

it is satellite feed download for all of the internet...I got this months ago...saw the blockstream satellite announcement and they said satellite USB reciever..which is what this is and said

hey..I got that

so, should probably after 5 months or so look at it

people use this to at least watch CNN or weather or some such with their RV's etc ...download and look kinda thing.....if you have to get on  a website

or have info back ...well they use the cell phone for that I guess

anyway, was like 100 bucks when I got mine...so I assume it can be used for the purposes of this thread also

4077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone want to do a Baikal Groupbuy? on: August 20, 2017, 07:28:18 AM
anyone organizing a group buy? I would be in for 1-2 if it is below 2000$ and available within a week.

still would be tough..imho....difficulty wise.....just saying

NOW if they were 1k instead of 2k .that might be a different spin  on this

Thou.... Dash is at $246....

I say bitmain is pumping Dash to sell more batches... lol

On related topic, just think of the new Giant+ as a x13, x14, x15, Qubit, Quark miner. That way, all the x11 mega-hash players won't effect you... lol

Also IF I remember correctly? (correct me if I am wrong). Baikal units when they first came out only did x11. Thus bitmain may pull that rabbit out
of its hat and offer x13,x14,x15 as a patch also to mine.

Then again, being Bitmain..they could just say FU and not.....(its how we roll ..bitmain:tm: We do evil well!)

Anyway, my view this is a likely upgrade for Bitmain's D3's

I'm in too
I'll take 4 or 5
Bitawn where are you??

really 2gh at 2k a unit?

When you can get 15gh from bitmain D3 for 1,450 as we speak?

even with D3 Arrival delay ....just can't see it

again 1k and you got it in a week maybe? (would have to do the math on 1k)
off the cuff..it still does not feel prudent.

Jihan Wu ceo of Bitmain say 100k bitcoin in 5 years. last few seconds of short video

4079  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1 on: August 20, 2017, 04:57:20 AM
good luck with that. I've dumped all of my SIA

heh, well my gamble is with the Obelisk SC-1 miner ... on the other hand...equipment drought at this time in 2017
that makes sense to get...thus 50% pay IRS or take that 50% get 4 units....with an additional 25% off in real
$$$ towards taxes off gross income. Thus for 25% more risk than just giving $$$ to IRS, went with 4 of these.

MAYBE, not my wisest move....but some of these units may be moving, for the same reason.

4080  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 20, 2017, 04:48:19 AM
rumor has the koreans are buying the shit out of btc and now dash, reason for the current surge.

One word: TRUMP

Would you not do the same, if a foreign leader could launch an attack, that might cause North Korea to fire their
30,000 or so conventional artillery pieces into Seoul? (30 miles away) and kill an estimated 3-4 million folk...

and you have no frigging idea if that is possible or now w/o consulting your own gov't?

There are worse things to buy and hedge with then BTC and crypto's under such circumstances, imho.

rumor has the koreans are buying the shit out of btc and now dash, reason for the current surge.

BTC or BCC?

My guess for BCC would be Wu is trying to pump up his crapto-coin to make mining it look profitable.  So he torches through a bunch of BTC on Bittrex etc buying BCC at any price until the value goes up.  If so, I'd guess NEO will be next.

I think Dash is going up because everyone knows the D3, if it delivers the hashrate promised, is going to raise the diff rate skyhigh and value will go up.  Everyone's buying Dash now, I bought some earlier today.

Wait till segwit2 +2mb hits and bitcoin core has said it will not go along with it....that will be all that Jihan Wu head of bitmain to go thru with his fork threat...ie move his hash
either to segwi2 +2mb or to bitcoin cash...anyway, my view

now then, we'd be living an interesting life......what a cluster...
