5. Everything we could ever pin on telegram is written in first 4 posts of this thread. Is checking them so much harder then reading pinned messages in telegram? I mean we loose time every aingle week to uodate them with all new info, if nobody uses them, what's the point  Wink

Those first few posts in this thread are great spirce of information. Everything we all need is written there and I think that it's a perfect way. I often check them at the end of a round to see who I'm up against in the next round, but also when I wanna see my standings on the table. All in all, I think the way you manage this competition is great and you don't need to change anything.

A Telegram group would kill this thread or it would be empty all the time if the conversation resumes here, so there's no point in having two channels of communication.

For notifications we can configure Telegram in a bot, when Trofo or Cryptofrka tags me, the Telegram bot notifies the update of the tables and the questions of the next round, I think not everyone here knows it.

The Telegram bot notification has been discussed a few times here already in both the first and second seasons, I'm pretty almost every player here uses it, but the problem how often people pay attention to the notifications, it could be easily when you're away from your devices for a while when the reminder comes, but the interest is what will make everyone not forget about submitting their picks, no amount of notification can help when there is an apparent lack of interest, it's just the same thing with how many people you actively find in the Gambling discussion and how many people have actually ever joined any of the league pools hosted here.
[/quote]

That's true. I have a Telegram bot set up to notify me on every new message here and it works well. I turned off notifications on almost every Telegram channel that I'm a part of so I don't get pinged that much. But I have also developed a habit on checking questions on Monday and answering them trough Monday and Tuesday so I never miss the deadline.

But I agree that if someone is not that interested in the BSFL, all the notifications in the world won't make them submit answers on time.

Nobody can predict those things, that is why it is fun to play. I have no idea and don't plan to watch them anytime soon, does not mean I am gonna skip the pool. Did not even check the table until now and I was quite sure I am already a goal or two behind so seeing that we are still even will count like a win in my book  Grin

Well... If I join a pool then I like to research my answers before submitting them. And I have no idea about teams playing the AFCON cup so I don't like doing research on teams like that.

As for our sidebet, I hope that Zheng can beat Yastremska who is a qualificant to go trough to the final.

This is why I didn't join AFCON pool. I have no idea about that and also about Asian cup so I would have definitely lost.

I guess this will be another boring round because Trofo and me have many answers that are the same. But that doesn't mean we can't comment on the results Smiley

Preko internet provajdera.

Upravo to.

Of course there is. If Sinner does well against Rublev, I'll take him to win against Đoković - so I need to make sure he's in the semis and that he does not play 5 long sets to get there.
Rublev would be easy meat for Djoko - so then I'd go with a different answer.

I always overthink everything, yeah Grin

Wow! That's really overthinking for one question Grin Do you analize every question this thoroughly?

Trofo, what's up with the WTA question? Gauff and Sabalenka are playing the semifinal game so one of them will surely lose before the final. Is this your way of securing at least one point for that question?
427  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: January 23, 2024, 02:43:15 PM

The finals (If Djokovic makes it) game doesn't count, the very first clause of the question is whether or not Djokovic will make it to the final, and the second question is how many set will he lose in total before getting to the final (If eventually he does).

So, to be very clear whatever happens in the final doesn't count for the question  Wink

Great! Just as I thought, but better to check than to screw up the answer Grin

I just submitted. Trofo is still contemplating his answers but there's nothing to wait anymore. Sabalenka is leading 4-2 in the second set after winning the first set so that should be an easy win for her. All other games are after the deadline.
429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 23, 2024, 09:33:25 AM
Just to be clear, in the "Đoković question" number of lost sets in the final game is not counted, right? For example if Đoković loses four sets in games before the final, correct answer will be "Djoković reaches the final and loses 5 sets or less in the process". Is that right? I tend to misunderstand that kind of questions so I'm just being careful Smiley

I thought about submitting my answers today but it's an important round for me. I was kicked out of the cup in the first round, but I have to try hard to make it 3-0 against Trofo. How do they call it in tennis when a player wins a game 3-0? I think there's a name for it.
431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 22, 2024, 02:45:18 PM
I just quickly went trough the question and I see that most are football related which is great. And, of course, again with WTA. I hate women's tennis. It costed me a draw in the last round, but it costed me much in previous rounds also. Thankfully those questions are not that common Smiley

Trofo, just to be clear, we are also answering penalty questions for our sidebet, right?
432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 21, 2024, 02:35:00 PM
So it looks like I didn't manage to get a draw out of this round against mv1986. That Croatian loss costed me win in this round where we had only two questions different. Congrats to you and now I have to concentrate on my sidebet with Trofo. I hope I can make it 3 wins in a row Grin

Nah I am not interested either. One friendly for this slot is more then enough. i have to keep my team fresh for final promotion push. I will be fielding B team against slackovic and hope it will be enough. Have to see who I can count on when it is for real.

Great! I thought that you won't be up for it because of the two losses in a row. But hey, nothing breaks the curse like another bet Smiley I'm glad we are on.
it is all part of the plan. I will loose this one as well. Then in the last season round ask you for all or nothing rematch for 500$ and if you decline you look like coward with 3:0 H2H. And you will not say no since you will be certain you can always win against me  Cool

I know that you are not gonna play with B team. You are just saying that so I take it easy, but it won't work. My team is all fired up, especially after winning the last game in the last minutes!

Slackovic wants more of my money so that is on, 50$ as usual agreed.

I'm open for one more if anyone is interesting. The idea never crossed my mind, but then I saw that Trofo played against me and someone else in the same week so why not! I just hope I won't end up paying twice like Trofo did Grin

at least a quiet weekend ahead on BSFL side

Wait, next week we have cup round? I think Trofo or cryptofrka said something like that somewhere. If that's the case, is someone interested in a sidebet? Maybe Trofo so he can lose again? Grin I'm offering a standard $50 in BTC. Let me know if anyone is interested.
436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 20, 2024, 07:33:03 AM
No no, I obviously need slackovic to not win the question and he does when the three mentioned players win. I chose all 5 would make it into the next week, which is already dead in the water along with 4 players. Now there is Gauff, Swiatek and Sabalenka left and slackovic wins if all 3 succeed. I need one of them to be out before the second week or otherwise I would lose the last tennis question and slackovic can equalize.

Usually the hedge would be a parlay bet on all three winning their games, but the odds are so low that it's definitely not worth it. That's why it's complicated. Slackovic went with 3 players.

I'm not that into betting so I'm not sure what you two are talking about. I understand what a hedge bet is (to bet on an opposite result than your previous bet), but I'm not sure how that can help you with BSFL. I'm guessing it can't help you, but can win you some money if an answer is wrong. Do you bet on your answers in BSFL? Like when you submit your answers, do you also place bets on them?

After joining AFCON pool I realised that I know nothing about African football. Ok, I don't follow it that closely, but I didn't expected that I will do so bad. At least we don't have Asian cup pool - after looking at it results, I think I wouldn't do much better there.

Haha. Yeah, that was the main reas9n why I decided not to join that pool. La Liga pool is hard for me and it's a known Spanish league. I really don't know what to do and how to research African football.

Quick one @trofo @cryptofrka,  is the fourth round of the ATP inclusive in the tennis question considering that some of the matches will be played midnight on Sunday according to the time schedule. Because the question said first week and I was believing that the fourth rounds are part of the first week.

Yeah, I also wonder. I remember seeing the post where Trofo or cryptofrka have explained until when it's considered to be the first week of the tournament, but I can't find that post now. Or maybe it was in the question text, in the part that is not in the spreadsheet.

Damn that AFCON games. I have no idea about nations that are playing the tournament so I went with Ivory Coast to win just like my opponent mv1986. I wouldn't count that as a problem if it weren't for the fact that we have only two different answers. It was a 50-50 choice for me (I don't like going for a draw in games I know nothing about) and I chose wrong Sad
