421  Other / Meta / Re: Can we sue bitcoin.com for plagiarism? on: November 16, 2018, 07:59:11 AM
Almost all of the forums(same niche) have same kinda boards. Those are created for having discussion, safe and secured deal or discussing things specifically. Therefore, it's nothing which we should sue.
Earlier I was in a forum which had some boards only. But later, some more boards were also added just because of necessity.
Regarding this issue, we can say every other forum is following bitcointalk as role model.

426  Other / Meta / [Explained] How Trust Score is calculated on: November 15, 2018, 09:57:32 AM
Although the calculation of trust score is clearly mentioned by theymos, it is still complicated for some users. I was also confused till yesterday. After spending some times, I was able to understand how trust score is calculated.

Here I will try to present the calculation in an easy way so that everyone can get it easily.

Before going to the calculation, let's understand what are elements shown in trust. Have a look at the below image and it will be clear for you.

In trust score, there are 3 score-
1. Positive Scores
2. Negative Score
3. Undefined Score
Skipped the neutral.

Now I will show how those scores are calculated by using some users data.

This calculation is applied when a user never received a negative feedback from DT.
1. When a user receives a positive feedback, he gets +1 in total positive feedback but the score remains 0. It starts changing after approximately 2 weeks, theymos uses "round_up" for months (Special thanks to LoyceV). User gets 1 point after each round_up month upto 10.

Since I already have calculated Vod's trust score, I will use Vod as en example here.
Total Unique Positive Feedback- 15
Total Unique Negative Feedback- 0

Out of his 15 positive feedbacks, he receives 13 feedbacks which have a weight of 10 months.
a. The output= 13*10=130
b. Received positive feedback from MadZ 8 months ago, output=8
c. Received positive feedback from ibminer 4 months ago, output= 4

Total positive score(a+b+c)= 130+8+4= 142

A positive score can also be gained if the user receives negative feedback. However, I will show here all the other negative and undefined too since those are calculated and related one with another algo.
The following is applied when user receive both negative and positive feedback-

Quote
score = unique_positive - 2^(unique_negative)
   if score >= 0
      start_time = time of first negative
      score = unique_positive since start_time - unique_negative since start_time
      if(score < 0)
         return Huh (orange)
Information needed-
a. Total Unique Positive Feedback
b. Total Unique Negative Feedback
c. total Unique Positive Feedback after the first negative feedback

User- koshgel
Score= -2

a. Total Unique Positive Feedback= 6
b. Total Unique Negative Feedback= 3
c. total Unique Positive Feedback after the first negative feedback= 0

Score= a - 2^b (2 to the power unique negative)
        =6 - 2^3
        =6 - 8= -2

Now, if the score was greater than or is equal to 0; score>=0, we would apply the following method which has been applied for user Anduck

User- Anduck
Score= 1

a. Total Unique Positive Feedback= 9
b. Total Unique Negative Feedback= 1
c. total Unique Positive Feedback after the first negative feedback= 2

Score= a - 2^b (2 to the power unique negative)
        =2 - 2^1
        =2 - 2=0
Since the score is greater than or is equal to 0,
Apply
Quote
score = unique_positive since start_time - unique_negative since start_time
where start_time= First Negative Feedback
Score= c - b
        =2 - 1= 1

Now, if the output would smaller than 0 or negative, the trust score would be undefined. Here is the trust score calculation of user zeeshanblc

User- zeeshanblc
Score= Huh

a. Total Unique Positive Feedback= 2
b. Total Unique Negative Feedback= 1
c. total Unique Positive Feedback after the first negative feedback= 0

Score= a - 2^b (2 to the power unique negative)
        = 2 - 1 = 1
Since the score is greater than or is equal to 0,
Apply
Quote
score = unique_positive since start_time - unique_negative since start_time
where start_time= First Negative Feedback
Score= c - b
        = 0 - 1
        = -1
Since the score is smaller than 0, the trust score is undefined.

Color of Trust Scores
1. Negative Score- Red
2. Undefined Score- Orange
3. Positive Score-
                        a. Initial Score- Black
                        b. When trust score reaches at 5, it turns into Light Green and remains same till 14.
                        c. When trust score reaches at 15, it turns into Dark Green

Special Thanks to-
asche for fixing the errors.
LoyceV for explaining the color of trust scores.

428  Economy / Reputation / Re: Another user asking/begging for a "Merit" on: November 15, 2018, 05:26:21 AM
There is too much positive feedback you left if we compare with your negative feedback.
Therefore, you are sending lots of negative trust for being included in DT  Grin jk.
By the way, it makes no sense. SFR has faced some good deal/persons and that's why his/her most of the feedback are positive. Whenever, negative feedback was needed, s/he gave.
Is DT mean giving feedback only, I doubt. They are someone who are trusted by users. DT2 are trusted by DT1. If you are trustworthy to a DT1, s/he will add you on his trust list. Therefore, it's nothing related with sending feedback.

The same was happened in November 2017 too before the way to the new ATH. But this time, it's quite impossible to hit an ATH. I assume we will see some good hype sooner as someone mentioned earlier.

430  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: November 15, 2018, 03:39:55 AM
My proposal is that new members after month or two are reviewed manually by administration and at least merits for jr.member status could be rewarded if person seem polite, tended to learn and share. And above ranks just will come (will be earned) naturally by time when deserved.
That is my suggestion for forum development Smiley
If you can't earn a single merit, how will you earn the next?
There has nothing to review here. If you deserve merit, you will get it easily. Lots of member have already been ranked up to high rank. Weren't they newbie like you? I was also a newbie and I started with 0 merit. It's nothing hard if you take bitcointalk as bitcointalk.

The account Danysee was hacked earlier and it's worthy to paint that account. This user can easily scam others.

433  Other / Meta / Re: Merit against spam: reward spam reporters & punish spammers on: November 14, 2018, 06:43:24 PM
Can you imagine how much mod have to recruited only for checking the reports?
People specially the people who aims to have merit onoy and rank up will start to report a lot of posts daily. If 500 users do that, at least 50 mods will be needed to check those only, IMO.
I believe it will boost up the ratio of reporting useless posts but the ultimate output will be worse than ever.
434  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: November 14, 2018, 04:39:00 PM
Where did you get the figure?
Quote
Well, there are currently 119 merit sources.
Here you go- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=sources

It will mainly depends upon the performance of current merit sources.
I don't think so. Why someone will be evaluated based on other's performance.

In contrast, total merit sources might decrease significantly.
The same  Cheesy We only can say "maybe". Well, if someone is able to send smerit on good quality posts, s/he can apply.
It's only a prediction.
435  Other / Meta / Re: Is there no fix for the triple question mark in trust on: November 14, 2018, 03:36:00 PM
What about vod and anduck's trusts?

Negative ratings have an exponential effect (2 to the power of number of negs)
From this formula, anduck has a point of 7
If user receives negative feedback, and score is greater than 0, the below formula is applied.
from his first negative feedback-
He got 2 positive feedback.
Unique Positive- Unique Negative
=2-1
=1

In the case of Vod,
If user doesn't have any negative feedback,
For each positive feedback, user get 1 point initially, later, for each month it get +1, it increased up to 10.

Here are the stats of Vod's score- 142

Tomatocage- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
Monbux- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
KWH- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
Light- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
John- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
Taras- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
Haploid- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
Stunna- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
The joint- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
Hedgy- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
The Pharmacist- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
Marlboroza- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
Madz- 8 (Rating is older than 8 months = 8
ibminer- 4 (Rating is older than 4 months = 4)

Suchmoon- 28
philipma1957- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
cryptodevil- 10 (Rating is older than 10 months = 10)
Vod- 8 (Rating is older than 8 months = 8
436  Other / Meta / Re: Is there no fix for the triple question mark in trust on: November 14, 2018, 03:04:57 PM
I have never fully understood how they trust ratings actually work.
Rating from DT members only visible to people's profile, by default though. You can always have a custom list. Anyway, @suchmoon has shared a link and it will be worthy for you to have a look.
The first score- Total rating. It also quite related to the time span from receiving the feedback. It also counts more feedbacks from a single user, imo.
2nd score- Number of unique negative feedback users. One may get 3 negative feedback from single user. The score will be 1.
3rd score- Number of unique positive feedback sender.

Does the trust rating of some DTs count more than others?
No, afaik. It depends the time of receiving the negative trust along with the total number of negative feedbacks.

How are members in my trusted group rated?
If you include me in your trust list, all of my feedback will be visible to you.
Again, if you remove a DT from your trust list, you will not see the feedback in people's profile. It will be in untrusted feedback.
437  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: November 14, 2018, 02:17:40 PM
I think only time will tell if Merit is really a positive addition to the forum. It all depends on how the Users will spend Merit. Will they really spend it on valuable posts or do they give it to people the know/like? So the community is responsible to use Merit as it should be.
There have a lot of merit analysis and people already have tasted the system almost 10 months. Therefore, it's quite clear. A lot of user with shitposts are now not able to rank up anymore.
Before the implementation of the system, people with redundant post from social media bounty would easily able to rank up with their reports only. I don't think it's gonna happen anymore, not a single time. Also, the people with repetive replies specially in altcoin discussion will not be able to rank up. Some exception may be the abuser. Well, abusers are also getting red painted.
Now, the point you have mentioned that it depends on sending sMerits. Well, there are currently 119 merit sources. Over the span of time, I strongly believe, theymos will implement some more merit sources, maybe more 100 or so. It can also be higher if we have qualitive application, IMO. Therefore, no one will face any kinda issue if s/he can post some good quality posts.

In fact, OP should not allowed newbies here since they are the one who actually trying to enroll with lots of alt. In addition, it would save a lot of works for OP since s/he has to check everyone manually for ensuring at least that they are not alt. Therefore, restriction on newbies would really be great idea for having an atleast 80% unbiased output. I strrongly believe that some high ranked members are also enrolling here but the portion will not be huge.

I wanted to bring some friend to cryptocurrency world using oportunity of participation in bounty campaigns as encouragement
No man. You are encouraging them to just only earn some cash. This has nothing to do with cryptocurrency. You can invite them here for learning about cryptocurrency. This forum has been built for that purpose, firstly. So, the first usage of this forum should be gather information about cryptocurrency. Over the span of time, it has turned into a forum where 95% of the people only visit for earning money and you are trying to increase the number.
You know what today I have visited "The Bitcoin Cafe" in my country. For your info, in my country, any kinda transaction of cryptocurrency is illegal. Anyway, I thought it accepts bitcoin and that was my only vision to visit the place. Just I wanted to spend some time over there just because it accepts bitcoin (I thought, although it doesn't).  I could have some drinks from any other cafe while I went there just for having a visit of my country's first cryptocyrrency based cafe. So, my original purpose was to visit the place, not to have some drinks there.
The same should be for everyone in the case of this forum. People should join here for learning, not to make some cash.

Over the span of time, there will be some arguement based on the opinion on sending sMerits. I may think one post deserves merit while others will not.
Anyway, I think OP deserves to be merited on that ICO review post while this thread is quite unnecessary. Lots of people are getting merit and if everybody creates a thread, meta will just be flooded with unnecessary posts which will definitely not look better.

Everyone has personal views and from that point anyone can put an user to his ignore list. AFAIK, I am also in Jet Cash's ignore list just because I had created a thread kinda sMerit giveaway which perhaps JC didn't like. So, it happens. He didn't enjoy my posts = welcome to his ignore list.
