422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: March 21, 2014, 12:29:03 AM
http://hashrate.org just paid out it's third payout.  (http://hashrate.org/payouts.html)
Five miners took home over 100 NxT, two miners took home over 200 NxT and one took home over 400 NxT
Start mining for NxT today!
just curious.
How to mine Nxt with specialized rig?

At the moment I am mining in both pools with an ASIC miner using cgiminer. You can also use GPU miners using scrypt. Is that what you mean?

Can you share some stats pls? For example, for each 1 MH/s how much NXTs approx can you get per day/hour/etc?

I have none to share yet. Neither pool is very good at reporting, particularly SHA-256 stats. I will report and compare once I have some data.

Thanks! If anyone else can share stats, that would be extremely usefull for all current and future NXTers I believe)
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Anon136's Silver Bullion NXT Gateway on: March 21, 2014, 12:27:36 AM
Will repeat my post from original threads about organizing such exchange: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg5800384#msg5800384

д. http://clip2net.com/s/72Y0Az

426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt :: NXTcash - progress and discussion on: March 20, 2014, 09:40:53 AM
I guess proceed with your experiment. You may learn new helpful insights in the process. Best wishes. I've added your name to list of developers to contact soon.
Thanks!

So, basic concept is sound? Would you say NXTmixer could be a bit better than zerocoin?

Sound up to your scaling limits but we must trust your server is honest which is the antithesis of decentralized currency.

Zerocoin has flaws I enumerated. And it targets a different problem, which is long-term anonymity of the blockchain.

Your mixer is perfectly obscuring the IP address (assuming the server is honest), which is also necessary but can't possibly address the long-term leakage of identities.

In short, we need both. And we need to fix all the issues. As far as I know, no one has yet published how to do that.
My approach for NXTcash requires using a separate location to cash in the minted zerocoins and funding a totally new account. by using that account for the payment account in NXTmixer I think we get both cleanly integrated.

I think the biggest problem is user error and inadvertently creating a link between accounts that should be separate. By adding a layer of software to manage access, it should be possible to ensure the user doesnt goof up

James

If I see 24.79 spent and later 24.79 credited. It doesn't matter what you hide in between, I can still correlate them. Even if the user splits the amounts, i.e. 24.79 spent then 13.38 and 11.41 get credited to separate accounts, pattern analysis may still identify them.

Never used coin mixers, but I suppose they will take some fees? So if you'll send them 24.79, you'll get back less. I can't imagine someone will run such service, that can be heavily used by criminals, for free or I don't understand something?

PS: As for this project, development of decentralized anonymous transactions seems legit enterprise for me, but I can be wrong of course

Somebody just wants to buy more than 500k nxt in bter, and he wants them NOW!  Grin

550k to be exact) Also someone needs 2kk coins @ $0.000050 and almost no one is selling!
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: March 20, 2014, 09:20:41 AM
so i was thinking. perhaps one way that i could avoid running afoul of the law on my nxt silver bullion gateway is to emulate a dry cleaners. dry cleaners take in cloths, issue a claim check for those cloths, alter the state of the cloths, and then return them in exchange for the claim check. for some reason unknown to me this claim check is not considered a "security" under financial regulations. Technically it should be, you can leave your cloths at the dry cleaner for an extended period of time and then sell the claim check to someone else and then that person can use the claim check to acquire your cloths, the dry cleaner claim check is a security in every sense of the word but legally it just isn't. So what ever the reason for that is, which i dont know, i can use it to my advantage by emulating that business to a t.

so lets imagine that i am a silver dry cleaners and the melting of silver shot into a bar is the analogue of dry cleaning the cloths, the silver shot is the dirty cloths, and the silver bar is the clean cloths. You buy 10 ounces of silver shot from some online retailer and set the address for delivery as a POBox of my specification. You then use your nxt address to sign the tracking number of the order and send me enough nxt to pay for the "cleaning". The "dirty" silver arrives at my shop and I issue you a claim check. After enough time has passed for me to "clean" the silver that claim check will become redeemable for silver that is now in the form of a bar. From that point on if other people want to trade that claim check amongst each other than thats none of my business. If there are legal ramifications than the onus is on them, it has nothing to do with me.

the nice thing is that there will still be a market for my claim checks but i will never under any circumstances be one of the sellers in that market. so if you want to acquire physical silver than the process will be no more complex for you. you will simply buy one of these claim checks on the market from someone other than me and then reimburse it at my nxt address. The people who deal with ordering silver shot and shipping it to my po box will be in a sense speculators trying to take advantage of arbitrage and for that service they will be affording me a level of legal protection.

one would think that since now there is a new middle man between me and the consumer that this would cause the price to be higher but i dont think this is necessarily the case because there is an advantage to be gained from outsourcing the acquisition of silver shot, a large group of people competing with each other to find cheaper supplies than the other will probably be much more effective at acquiring cheap silver shot than i could be on my own.

tell me what you guys think. ill post this in my silver bullion thread also so if you are seeing this message any later than say a half hour after it was posted than it will probably be better to reply to it there.

You should consult with lawyers, but seems to be a legit scheme. I've seen almost the same realization of fiat <-> e-currency exchange in Moscow, Russia few years ago. WM Transfer (webmoney.com, very popular e-currency in CIS) had their own or affiliated exchanger, who was acting such way:

Let's say I want to sell 1000 wmz ($1000 equivalent), ou want to buy it. They will ask me to send my 1000 wmz to their account, then they take your $(1000 + funding fee), and put $(1000 - withdrawal fee) to safety deposit box, and then send you my 1000 wmz and give me the key to deposit box.

Maybe I misremember some details, was maybe 8 years ago, but the idea was similiar to yours. They had some AML policies of course, you should be very carefull regarding this matters, especially if you are in US. So, hire a good lawyer and compliance specialist, and they will enlighten you how to minimize the risks of being involved in money laundering and stuff like that.

Hope my memory was helpfull a bit) Good luck with your service, people need it!

Blackcoin!

431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 19, 2014, 07:56:30 PM
Anyone tested BC/USD trading pair?  Smiley
https://c-cex.com/index.html?p=bc-usd

This exchange is a joke, at least their .../USD trading. They are working only with "payer" that is a piece of  sh@t, I would not trust a penny to "payment system" like this.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: March 19, 2014, 04:33:01 PM
Please stop posting FUD about CoinEx, we will issue an announcement within next 24hrs about how we are going to handle the situation.

Long story short: yes, our wallet server got hacked and all funds were withdrawn.

Please read back to the beginning of this thread, we had such a problem before and *returned all the stolen funds from our own pockets*. Before this hack happened, we also had several attacks that lost funds and we silently covered those from our fees.

For those who was stalking me at internets: thats true, i was trying to hide/delete my accounts. At the very first moment i saw zero balance at our bitcoin wallet i knew this was coming. And it scared the shit out of me. Hope you can understand that.
About me selling bitcoins at localbitcoins.com: thats true too. I have 33mh/s scrypt gpu mining farm, I have >50% of coinex fees + I get % from cryptostocks share sells. Nothing criminal here again.

So again, please calm down. We are not doing a runner.

The only way i can see to restore this is to sell more shares at cryptostocks to cover the losses *and to hire a professional security audit team to prevent this from happening again*.
Long story short, we're covering this from our own pockets again.

Thanks
- erundook

I really wonder whats wrong with some people. Imagine running a jewelry store or money exchange without insurance, beeing robbed several times, waiting for the final blow before thinking about security. There are no words to describe this way of working.

It is quite obvious that you are not capable of running a business like this. No one should support this and give the owner new confidence over and over. This wont work.

+100000 some people love being hit in the face by the same door every day I suppose. What can be the reason of trusting your funds to such amateurs?

434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: March 19, 2014, 07:41:13 AM
Guys, vote for NXT here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=519658.0
We really need NXT/USD exchange!
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vault of Satoshi asks What Coins Do You Want to See? on: March 19, 2014, 07:39:55 AM
Oh, and I just noticed you do not trade NXT, this is a must! ))
The only working bitcoin 2.0 realization with HUGE potential, if I were exchange owner I would start from adding NXT, and then will consider adding bitcoin clones. This coin lacks exchanges to fiat, so you can be the first!
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vault of Satoshi asks What Coins Do You Want to See? on: March 19, 2014, 07:34:25 AM
DarkCoin and HunterCoin please!
Trully innovative coins, first one is the only really anonymous cryptocurrency, without need of centralized mixers etc
Secound one is the one and only coin with human mining - i.e. multiplayer game, where you can hunt for coins
Both will be a great addition to your exchange!
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | cPoW | PC mining | Fast Distribution | Stability - on: March 17, 2014, 04:12:16 AM
Can somebody explain me why QRK does only know to dump? I'm loosing a lot of money (already 50% of all I had). I'd like to know what do you expect from QRK, because what I see is really sad.

Bear with us.
Vic
Was that a Joke? Bear with us. Bear Market.
Wait for the Bulls to Run!
Is that what you're saying?

Hey they are doing their best alright, i'm following it closely. The whole market is like this, best is not to pay attention to prices, but build an infrastrcuture and the rest will come.

+1 and thanks Smiley.

No it wasn't a joke - we are actively working on a large marketing campaign.

Vic

Has anyone confirmed whether or not qrk is getting pos ?  i hear it is then i hear it is not.

Switch to PoS would be great. PoS coins are getting more and more popular these days

Grin

439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: March 17, 2014, 02:16:53 AM

And have to mention, that with the current low price, everyone who cried about unfair distribution has a great possibility to jump onboard!
440  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: [NXT] Nxt crypto - немного инфы, и самих NXT. on: March 16, 2014, 07:08:51 PM
