wow.. 11PH of gear, cant imagine what that would look like or the power it would consume. Glad your mining with us not against us.
That's like over 3000 Avalon 6's, it would look like any of the videos of the big data centers that we can see on youtube and stuff. Would be cool to see some pictures, though, especially with kano.is showing on a monitor or two in the photos. I wonder if Kano can tell what country they are in? Cheap power would be a must.

A effort needs to be made by the bitcoin community encouraging merchants to accept it as payment. Once broadly accepted the public use should rise significantly.

And the heat! Have 14 in one 42U rack at the datacenter and they shoot flames out the back!
I know the feeling, about 3 months of the year heat is a real battle for me. Massive air flow and 3 evaporative coolers and I still battle lol.

Those who bet Friday as the release date, will know very soon..

Don't forget all that future price expectations are built into the current price. This is basic economics.
That's why when a company issues an earnings report, the price stays pretty much the same if it is in line with expectations.
If the aggregate consensus is that the price will increase after halving then the increase is probably already priced in as fewer people sell up and more hold on to their bitcoins already.
I agree, we may see a bit more before halving, but the majority is already factored in. Bitcoin needs more exposure to the masses before the next climb.

|
People are dumping bitcoins and buying other alt coins which recently got a lot of attentions, so price is going down. It might as well makes the bitcoin the second coin in market. looks like ETH is taking advantage over bitcoin halving to come.
Not true, bitcoin had very low volume last week. The increase in ethereum price is due to voting rights needing to be paid in ethereum. Most of which came from fiat.

And now all of those who made big analysis about this "bad" extra 11PH/s have to... fill their mouth with chicken ...and people's that can't properly read threads should fill it with something else. Those were regarding large rentals. Touche

Waiting on the community could take a very long time. At least bitmain is going to provide us something. Bitfury has all but abandoned the small miner. Bw is launching something in June. Hopefully we will see something soon.

I don't think I'll buy any more s7's. I have a feeling the s9 will be out fairly soon.

2) USA/Canada Yeah, there are region with a price of 7cent per kwh and this is great. The temperatures are most fine, but for a small mining farm you will be in the need of cooling power. (cooling = costs on hardware, maintaince and power!)
You might want to recheck your prices. There are places in both the USA and Canada where power is as cheap as $0.02/kwh The cheapest power I've ever seen in US or Can is .04. Where are they getting it for 2?

I would like to see that 5.5 Ph\s miner hit something. Right now they are making a tidy bit from the pool but we don't yet know if they are really contributing.
Exactly
|
|
|
I wonder if Kano has ever considered a private pool? For those of us who are here through good luck and bad. It's amazing seeing ph jump when we are on a lucky streak. Only to drop when bad luck his.
unfortunately the way luck works is if you join AFTER the luck increases you were too late to benefit from it. It depends on when you get in. Nobody knows when the luck will stop.

I think price fluctuation is the major reason for not using bitcoin as they think that bitcoin will not survive for a longer period of time.
Fluctuation has greatly decreased and will continue to do so. As bitcoin becomes larger volatility has become more stable.

I'm happy watching the blocks roll in.

|
|
I'm assuming you'll want to hack the regulators on later batch machines and get about 25% better efficiency?
Is that possible?
|
|
|
anyone else notice they updated all firmware for the s7 today?
