4241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem gamblers what can we do to help them help theirselves? on: October 22, 2019, 10:23:01 PM
I was reading meta section and saw a thread complaint about poor posting in the gambling section. I came to the section and look at some threads and realized there did not seem to be any threads made for the gambling crazed losers. Thus I posted this.

Well to be able to help their current situation, they must first realize that gambling can never be profitable in the long-run especially if you view it as an avenue of generating income. With the risks associated, there can be ways to lessen the risk but you can never be so sure that you'll win every single bet that you make.

If gamblers are unable to realize this essential view, they may need the help of their peers, parents, or even loved ones to let them know and support them through his journey. This can never be easy but with the right mind and attitude, one can overcome addiction if he/she is determined to change.
Again, change starts in the mind and through their concrete actions.
4242  Economy / Speculation / Re: what do you think is the best rate price for btc? on: October 22, 2019, 02:44:18 PM
Hi guys,

I am curious to know what for you is the best average btc price.

Thank you so much everyone who will answer me.  Grin

Hmm this is actually a difficult question to answer as it solely depends on multiple market factors if you can foresight the price increase/decrease in the next few weeks.

By basing solely on the history of its price taken last 1-2 weeks ago, its price were around $8,000-$8,200 with some minor increase/decrease. If you plan on trading for short-term, I may advise you to purchase some coins and sell it once the price is above the initial price you acquired them. Again unfortunately, you have to weigh factors in order to determine if you want to purchase now or later.
4243  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Mining o Trading? on: October 22, 2019, 07:34:30 AM
I advise to avoid it muna.

4244  Economy / Economics / Re: Can not believe 5 years ago you could of bought one whole bitcoin for this much! on: October 22, 2019, 05:37:42 AM
For $651~ you could of got yourself a shiny whole bitcoin on coinbase plus their $6.66 fee.
I wouldnt of mind paying this fee on top regardless.

I was introduced to bitcoin in 2015 and at the time, the price of bitcoin is just above $200. You could only imagine what could I have done if I knew that the price of bitcoin will grow this much in such a short period of time. Anyway, that is all in the past now. All we can do now is learn from it and act to it accordingly. So right now, I am hoarding as much as I can and hoping 2017 bull run can happen again in the future.

Unfortunately, I only started knowing about bitcoin around the year 2017 when its price were around $4,000-$5,000 per coin. I remember participating in campaign signatures where 0.004 BTC was worth around 4$ (and that's per week!). I never imagined it crossing the boundaries and reaching even $19,000 at the bull run of the last quarter of 2015.

People are still expecting that bitcoin will reach an all-time high in the future. Due to its continuous decreasing supply, expect its price to significantly increase overtime.
4245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You own a decent amount of Bitcoin, How would you increase it on: October 22, 2019, 03:20:59 AM
Greeting all,

I own a decent amount of Bitcoins which were made honestly with right investment & timing since 2012.
During 2017 until 2019, i invested in many different projects and 99% of my investment got wiped almost instantly during 2019.

I did recover some of my losses with the IEO hype but it seems the IEO hype is over now.
I know the right answer is to HODL and just let the sit back and relax but it wont grow my Bitcoins amount.

I read about many so called Bitcoin Banks, Projects,  who promise you 3% interest annually, simply don't believe in holding your bitcoins in one place for such a long time.

So how would you increase your bitcoins?

Unfortunately, I lack the trust of investing my bitcoin to a bitcoin bank simply because I got scammed 1-2 years ago with the famous ICO Tech company which promises you for returns of bitcoin after 6 months of investment. I even attended their forum and met with the developers which further increased my trust with the company but sadly, I failed to reimburse the amount that I lost.

To increase my current bitcoins, it is essential to invest, trade, purchase, or gamble with my remaining coins. Obviously, I highly advise the latter as the risks involve are significantly high compared to the formers.
4246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cheaters . who caused the cryptocurrency to go down on: October 21, 2019, 11:59:26 PM
What do you think about the project that spent a lot of money to advertise but was taken advantage of by cheater, I saw a person who created a lot of accounts to cheat and eat over 5000 $, there are really a lot of very good projects. but it is these fraudsters that cause those projects to die. I think there needs to be a company specializing in combating fraudsters. Cryptocurrency can grow

What controls the price of bitcoin is the law of demand and supply. Due to its supply being limited in the market (21 million cap), companies, organizations, or people who own majority of its supply CAN manipulate and control the price by selling/purchasing their stock.

People take advantage of its volatility by either investing short/long-term depending on its price fluctuation in the market..

There different words for cheaters; scammer can be considered as cheater, thus, cheaters are one of the reasons why cryptocurrencies are going down. Their greedy attitude caused every coins to fall. If only, they are fair, maybe bitcoin is still in the high peak.

Cheaters are not only the reason on why its price decreases. You need to understand that the law of supply and demand dictates the price of cryptocurrencies in the market due to its nature being limited in supply.
4247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Worst Day of My LIFE - Dice on: October 21, 2019, 11:29:17 PM
Borrowed $1600 from my friend. Apart from this placed gold as collateral and got $250. Altogether with hope of returning the borrowed amount and taking the gold back started to play dice after a long. At the beginning it went good, and when my profit reached $200 started to fail. Once I began to loss I was out of my control. Within minutes everything went out of my control, my mind didn't had the ability to think. I just doubled the bets consecutively. Ended with a loss. Now I was in a situation to repay my friend the borrowed amount. Please don't borrow and spend on gambling, it might give an earning, but that mostly leads to suffering. Cry

I have said this before and I will say it again: without self-discipline and control, the effects of gambling would only cascade into the vicious cycle of winning/recovering your losses overtime.

I am sorry to hear for your loss but you should have stopped when you already incurred profit from your bets. You also should have set a limit/cap on which that would be your maximum betting for the night. Unfortunately, when you incurred your loss you though of recovering it but it only worsen your situation.
Let this experience remind you that gambling without planning ahead can only worsen your current situation.
4248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Donating the Gambling profits on: October 21, 2019, 10:05:15 PM
Have you ever thought of donating the gambling profits to a charitable cause ?  Sometime people won a big lottery or very high amount of money from betting & gambling games.  Do you ever thought of being generous and helping the poor with this money ?

Every time I gamble, I consider the proceeds of such as 'dirty money' wherein I feel like I need to dispose of them quickly before anything bad happens to me. Although I have not donated my gambling proceeds to charity, I always treat my family and purchase the things that I want and need.

In my principle, contributing or helping others is mandatory. Don't see where the money comes from, as long as we have good intentions, then do it. I myself don't really care about what I get from gambling, whether it's dirty or not. As long as I win in gambling, I will do that. Donate and help others with the results of gambling.

This is actually true. Contribution stems from the intent of an individual into giving/sharing their resources regardless from whatever source it came from. Helping one another is the core and foundation of being human and helping the country towards a progressive nation.
4249  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't run for merits! on: October 21, 2019, 09:11:00 PM
The essence of merits stem from the people who are so inclined into chasing for profits that their post quality suffer in the process.

The very reason on why this forum was created was to help newbies, share information to other people, create guides in cryptocurrencies in general, and communicate to people all around the world sharing the same idea and goal of spreading the message of cryptocurrencies.
Throughout the years when signature campaigns were created, people now deviated from this goal and focused more into earning profits, which is not a bad thing but if people focused on this aspect more, the forum will suffer in the long-run.

People should realize that the focal point of this forum is the sharing of ideas and the by-product of such knowledge is the merits! It will be a win-win situation wherein someone contributes the forum and through his contribution, he will be rewarded by merits!
4250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 85% of All Bitcoin Have Now Been Mined!!! on: October 21, 2019, 08:22:32 AM
The bitcoin mining is effective, the last bitcoin will be mined somewhere in 2140.

As of today, to mine 1 bitcoin there are necessary resources with a value of approximately 12 000 USD (energy, electronic equipment, buildings, air conditioning, man power etc).

This is why the price of 1 bitcoin is going up, because every product in this world has the price of the work and resources necessary to manufacture it.

The next problem would be the transaction fees whenever we use our bitcoins to transfer our funds or if we were to purchase products/services. As long as we keep on mining bitcoin (supply decreases), the price exponentially increases due to high demand. It is highly advisable that people should consider the long-term of investing in bitcoin for the next generation of their family as their retirement benefits if you want to maximize its price.

4251  Economy / Economics / Re: What are the odds that the government/banks will truly create their own coin? on: October 21, 2019, 05:20:14 AM
We've all seen this phrase before: that the government and/or banks will more likely to create their own cryptocurrency, but what are the odds that they really will? How can we be sure that these two sectors will create their own coins eventually and will it even change the game if they do? If they did, will it not threaten bitcoins and altcoins because the common people who haven't heard of bitcoin before might choose to use these bank/government-created coins instead? Do we really need more coins?

I think the government already has their own cryptoCURRENCY which is regulated and controlled by their respective central banks- which is the FIAT.

I doubt that the government would attempt or create their own coin as it is self-defeating and contradicts the very nature of a cryptocurrency. What the government wants is control and regulation. If they make such coin, it will inevitably become a decentralized form of cryptocurrency which cannot be traced down in its transactions.
4252  Economy / Economics / Re: Paper Money - The Greatest Scam on: October 20, 2019, 03:43:13 PM
Enslavery or Financial Freedom?

Think Wise and Twice.

There are a few points that I disagree with your contention.

First, paper money was introduced in order to have an internationally recognized currency which can be use as the main medium on a respective country for reasons of trading, investing, and lending. If we were still to adapt the barter system of payments, there would be no means of knowing the actual value of a thing since everything revolves around trading goods.

Second, interest rates are created by the banks in order to take opportunity of the time. While the rates may be relatively low, the chances are guaranteed since the security that most banks give are based on the fiduciary relationship created between the depositor and the bank.

Third and final point, without the fiat system, the world would be in chaos with regard to trading and investing.

4253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Things That Comes Into Your Mind When Winning... on: October 20, 2019, 11:17:10 AM
The attitude we’ve got in gambling is the “One time Big time” in which even the food for the table sometimes we gamble to make it bigger but in the end losing is the price

And the idea of small capital that can be a hundred or thousand time larger is what gambling becomes more attractive
As long as you treat gambling as a way to earn money, you cannot win. You just think about something else. For me, there is no question of winning, I'm just having fun)

I beg to disagree. If you view gambling as an avenue of earning money, the person gambling can either be more careful or be notorious in his betting. So the determining question is whether the person knows HOW TO DISCIPLINE and knows WHEN TO STOP gambling.

The problem with betting revolves around the very nature on where it is founded- which is luck. There are times that some can potentially cash-out large sums of money and others lose significant amounts in one night. It all depends if the person knows when to stop his gambling especially if he/she is on a losing streak.
4254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cryptocurrency is better than fiat currency? on: October 20, 2019, 02:58:32 AM
<snip...>

One crucial aspect that you forgot the include is the acceptance of cryptocurrency in the world and its value in the long-run.
Although you have stated that more countries are beginning to accept its utilization, it is far from reality where we adapt and implement a digitalized form of cash throughout the world. In addition, the value of cryptocurrencies are dictated by its supply and demand in the market which can make its price highly inflationary once its supply decreases.

The problem with having a limited supply of money in circulation is among the people who own such majorities of its supply. Thus, it is at their disposal and power to manipulate and control the market and its price.

4256  Economy / Economics / Re: Millennial generation are screwed! on: October 19, 2019, 03:16:37 PM
First they spend more time on video games than any other generation, an average gen millennial spend 8 hours on games everyday! Ridiculous!

They basement dwellers

They deep on student loan

They no saving

They have no job security

Now they spend more money on bitcoin than all generation!

It never get bored millennial has been on the headlines since the god know when it all began.

Can crypto make millennial more screwed or otherwise? Let’s discuss!

You are making a dangerous presumption that all millennials are what you characterized them to be. Remember that most millennials are able to adapt to difficult situations and are flexible with every task you give them.

Cryptocurrencies, money, or anything that has value cannot make anyone screwed. It is always up to the decision of the individual on whether or not he/she knows how to manage or handle their resources at the given situation. Stating that all millennials are screwed due to the media portraying them to be is a fallacious statement of hasty generalization.
4257  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy now or wait for Bitcoin? on: October 19, 2019, 11:59:38 AM
Hi all,

I want to invest some money in Bitcoin (long term investment)
It's better wait the next fall down (like the situation on December/January), or buy now?
Otherwise fixing a target for example 7000 or 8000 $ and buy in that moment?

Thank you in advance for your suggestion

You know there is a saying that the best time to invest or to start is the first day you decided to purchase or acquire bitcoins. Although this may be true to an extent, it is still advisable that you study the market, the trend, and the current events before purchasing bitcoins as their volatility can be a double-edged sword to your overall investments.

With that amount of money, I would advise that you diversify your investments and allocate a percentage of your resources to other traditional investing methods to lower the risk of losing them. Since you plan on investing for long-term, I highly advise that you consider bank notes or stocks as an alternative and additional investment.
4258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Stress and Happiness on: October 18, 2019, 04:34:45 PM

In my almost four years of getting involved (just an ordinary holder and part-time trader, nothing so great actually), I am so sure that Bitcoin can be a major source of stress especially if you bought them at a higher price and then the price made some slide. Now, I am not saying that it is Bitcoin's fault because stress in the first place depends a lot on our perception and how we are managing it. But definitely, we can categorize as a stressor at some degree.

On the other hand, Bitcoin can also be the source of "happiness" especially when the coin is having a great time jumping upwards. Certainly, there can be euphoria if in 2020 Bitcoin can go higher that its 2017 ATH. Bitcoin is known for extreme volatility and it can go from one side to the other in matter of hours and days.

No wonder that Steve Wozniak the Apple co-founder sold his bitcoin because riding the roller coaster stressed him out.

How do you manage any possible stress coming from Bitcoin's volatility?

Stress and happiness are both attitudes that highly depend on the perspective of an individual and how he/she does something to turn the tides of his emotion to a more positive one.

The problem with most people who invested in bitcoin way back when its price reached an all time high of around $19,000, they invested impulsively (due to heavy influence of media and hype) without even studying or predicting the outcome in the next few weeks. Unfortunately, people who invested at that price are still at loss even today. Now, how do one approach this kind of situation? This would now depend on how you recover by learning your mistakes and recover them by investing smart. Contemplating about your lost investment would only hamper your growth towards learning.
4259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is fortunejack.com a Scam or are they Legit? on: October 18, 2019, 01:52:28 PM
They have been harassing me with adds, and I didn't remember any negative reviews, in fact I remembered good ones. Now I finally deposit, and when I go to withdraw they accuse me of multi-accounting? Has this happened to anyone else, or anyone know how I can clear this up? I might have had a really old account that I forgot about, but I'm really careful to never give online casino's an excuse to scam me?

No and I have no idea on why you even had the idea of them scamming you.

Before, I had the opportunity of representing them through their campaign signature for 5 weeks and they paid consistently throughout. I also even participated on their gambling website and I had no issues with claiming everything. Plus, they have an excellent service and you could message them if you have a problem with regard to your payments/deposits.

4260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is never going to be extinct on: October 18, 2019, 11:19:18 AM
Bitcoin is never going to be extinct
I believe its consensus will be higher and higher in the future.

Nah, everything created is bound to be extinct in the far future as nothing is consistent but change. There will always be change in whatever aspect that you apply it, just like in our fiat. Slowly, the world is adapting to a new kind of change- which is digital cash or money. In the near future, once the blockchain gets implemented in our current transactions, this would spark the change towards digital cash as our main medium of exchange.

As for Bitcoin, its current status is sensitive to change. Once the government announces that it will be prohibiting the utilization of such, countries would avoid using it which will eventually affect bitcoin and its total number of users.
