4281  Economy / Speculation / Re: 'Bitcoin has gone parabolic,' and that usually doesn't end well, Art Cashin warn on: November 29, 2017, 09:52:33 AM
I remember the saying Buy when there is blood in the streets, even if it is your own blood. But I reckon the opposite might be also true. Could this be the best time for us to sell?

In any case, if bitcoin was not going up this fast, I would be more comfortable to hold more.

Bitcoin has gone “parabolic,” says trader   Veteran trader Art Cashin says bitcoin has gone “parabolic"
4 Hours Ago | 00:49
Bitcoin has reached "parabolic" levels, and the cryptocurrency has some at the Federal Reserve worried, closely followed trader Art Cashin told CNBC on Monday.

The cryptocurrency surged to a record $9,732.76 on Monday, according to coin industry site CoinDesk, breaking a mark set during Thanksgiving weekend. It later retreated to around $9,655 at midmorning.

"Bitcoin has gone parabolic, so that usually doesn't end well," said Cashin, UBS director of floor operations at the New York Stock Exchange.

"I think we're in the fear-of-missing-out phase now," Cashin said in an interview on "Squawk on the Street." "I think initially there was some concern. I am told — and take this with a huge grain of salt — that the movement is even beginning to worry some people in the Federal Reserve."

"Fear of missing out"

I think this sums up the current feeling in bitcoin investors. I've actually been approached by multiple friends asking me for advice on how to get a head start on investing in bitcoin even though this pump is now very very extensive in time and dollar amount.

I doubt it'll be a good time to buy, but overall i'm still bullish in the long term. We've only achieved part of bitcoin's potential and we're already here.
4282  Economy / Speculation / Re: is that bitcoin price will crash after $ 10K? on: November 29, 2017, 09:41:22 AM
Why some people telling that bitcoin price will crash after hitting $10000?.
I don't think it will happen.
How about you guys do you think the price will crash or continue to rise.?

Because some people are just bearish on bitcoin price. I think that they are probably wrong on this one, price will probably go even further up after $10k as this is a monumental moment in bitcoin's history that everyone's talking about.

Will likely continue to hit $11, 12k, then $13k.

After $13k it can definitely result in a crash, but before that, i don't think it will happen.
4283  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Will Reach $40,000 in 2018? on: November 29, 2017, 09:18:53 AM
Billionaire hedge fund legend and former Fortress executive Mike Novogratz believes the bitcoin price will “easily reach” $40,000 by 2018.what do you think?

Could be possible but i think that he is also caught in the hype, a bit.

$40000 is actually a much less steep rise in 1 year compared to what happened this year which is actually around a 10 times rise. $10k to $40k is only quadrupling the current price, not difficult at all if you think about it.

But then, how long will this go for before a correction comes down? I don't feel like it's going to be long.
4284  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinGather is officially hacked on: November 29, 2017, 09:03:05 AM
Still down as we speak...

How come you know that it's "officially hacked"? It seems like you are aware that the chances are that the admin just took off with user funds big time, if it was a hack they probably would have stayed up or at least made some announcements.

Sad for anyone who had BTC on their site. Another example why you should NEVER store large amounts of BTC on an exchange for no reason.
4285  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins exchange on: November 29, 2017, 08:58:51 AM
In my case I don't need to advertise my deal because I already have a buyer. I just need to use it as escrow so there should be the way to initiate a trade  with smaller amounts of BTC.

There is a minimum to every single advertisement that you cannot avoid. Without this advertisement you simply cannot initiate an escrow trading with the other party, that's just how it works with localbitcoins.

Try paxful, i'm pretty sur ethat they have lower restrictions when it comes to opening advertisements.

Localbitcoins used to have a 0.4 BTC min i think, they actually made it less to correspond with BTC's rise in value.
4286  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining on: November 29, 2017, 08:43:24 AM
Hi,

i am new to the topic of bitcoin and mining. I want to invest a bit of money, not much around 100$ in mining. I just want to purchase the hashrate and wait for the payouts.
I want to join a pool because it is more profitable than single mining, isnt it? Please correct me if i am wrong because i dont know anything about this topic.

I tried to join the antpool because it is the biggest one and a lot of people will become angry if the website shuts down isnt it, but i cant find a button which let me choose my hash rate, like genesis mining where i can buy packages. Thats what i want but i heard genisis mining is scam.

So my questions are:
1. I want secruity that means i dont want to invest in a scam site which goes offline in 10 years or smth.
2. Can a pool or website be prosecuted and the investors get their money back or is it hard to do so
3. is there a german forum because my english is not the best Wink

I want something like invest 100$ and get 1 bitcoin in 6 month or something like that if you know what i mean.
Can you recommend something?

Kind regards Florian

If you invest in cloud mining you abide to their rules, essentially. If they are actually mining then they are definitely mining in a pool and you don't have to worry about configuration of the miners into a pool, unless you are renting rigs.

I'll tell you this though, most cloud mining are not going to make you any profits.

$100 to 1 BTC(100x profits) is just impossible to achieve with cloud mining. In fact, transaction fees will probably eat away the majority of your investment to begin with.
4287  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://bitmain-affiliation.com - legit or scam site? on: November 29, 2017, 08:41:14 AM
Anyone heard of or bought from this company?

http://bitmain-affiliation.com

They are advertising S9's as "in stock" for ~$1600 with decent delivery times. Sounds suspicious to me.

Most likely a scam.

Even if it's legit, why wouldn't you just purchase from the actual official retailer instead of taking on this risk? Absolutely not worth it in my opinion as you are paying with a non-reversible method and you're not going to be protcetd by anyone.

If you look at recent threads in service discussions you'll see a ton of new sites selling miners at cheap prices. None of them have been legit.
4288  Economy / Services / Re: Wanting To Buy Old Bitcoin Addresses ( $5 Per Address) on: November 25, 2017, 10:25:10 PM
You do realize that even if it is as you say and there is no ulterior motive for buying old bitcoin addressess off others that the other party will still have access to the old address's private key, correct? Even if your true motive really is to just collect the addresses, you are technically just sharing it, really. Furthermore, would you be willing to take old addresses that are no longer eligible for CLAMs, in that case? I'm just trying to clear the air, here.

Exactly. Claiming that you are a collector of old addresses when you are just trying to dig for clams, or bitcoin cash/btg is just untrustworthy behaviour. Would you be able to accept old addresses without clams then?

For anyone that has an address with clams in it - you'll be able to get 4.6 clams per address.

That is almost $30 per address instead of $5 per address that you get here.
4289  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bittrex announces minimum trade size raise and other info on: November 25, 2017, 10:19:24 PM
It doesn't make sense to me why they would want to increase the minimum order size. It's not even that big of a difference but it'll hit the small time traders pretty hard as they can't do small trades anymore. And $8 by no means is a small amount for someone in a third world country.

Also, lowering precision doesn't make sense either. Why? It doesn't even take much resources to do it, and in my opinion it's always good to have precise rather than approximate figures.

Time to move away from bittrex i guess.
It is probably due to the large number of dust trades, I guess, and this takes up way more resources, more than we think. I guess they just don't want to waste energy and time to sort those, but $8 is too large. With this policy, I wonder what will happen to Bittrex. Perhaps it may benefit the large investors with more support and less waiting time, but I'm not so sure.

I like Bittrex for its extensive list of coins, but I am not a large trader, so this is a no-go for me now. Sad

Yeah exactly. It feels like bittrex doesn't care about the grassroot traders that have brouht them to where they are now but only cares about their whale traders right now. That's not a good business strategy, you always look after the needs of every single customer whether large or small.

I am perfectly fine with most of these changes since they don't affect me personally. It's mostly those who care about few buck trades that will be affected. It's obvious that Bittrex is trying to clean things up.

The only thing I am not really a fan of is that they will remove older orders, which is something that should never be messed with. In quite some cases orders aren't meant to be executed, and for that reason shouldn't be removed.

I am sure that a lot people waiting for Bittrex to respond to their tickets will not be happy with this. Bittrex has time to come up with changes concerning its trading platform, but doesn't have time to sort things out with people's accounts.

Small orders will affect a lot of the people who are trying to get a start with bitcoin trading or altcoin trading.

Now they can't do that, because of the new policies.
4290  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Pending transaction on coinbase on: November 25, 2017, 05:31:45 AM
OK I want to cry right now. I am a newbie. Purchased a bit of bitcoin on coinbase on the 15th and that was fine it got confirmed quickly . Then I tried to send it to my hardware wallet and the transaction has been pending since then! Ive just read through some posts and some people are saying that they have had a transaction pending for a while but they had given up and considered their bitcoin lost?? I have contacted coinbase support several times wih no response.   I sat at work today and could not even concentrate. Yes I understood the risks that the price of a bitcoin could decrease but to have my whole bitcoin disappear was not expected! What can I do to fix this - Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Don't panic. Panicking doesn't really help.

Create a new support ticket if they aren't responding to the old ones and keep attempting. Comment on their twitter statuses or whatever and also their facebook, hopefully they are monitoring replies on there and don't want people to expose them.

Also a subreddit directed for coinbase users that may be of help: https://www.reddit.com/r/CoinBase/
4291  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex fees INSANELY big! on: November 25, 2017, 05:08:07 AM
I just can't belive what im seeing. This is why i don't gain anything big when trading in 20-30 USD range.
Please look at the picture.
When you BUY you get cut by 0.025% fee from Bittrex..
BUT in order to SELL you actualy need 10 USD MORE in profits to earn only 2 bucks?
Come on, please tell me what kind of joke is this? When i want to sell i need a difference at minimum 10 USD for a crypto to go up so i can literaly earn 1-2 USD!

PLEASE LOOK!THe price when i bought and the price when sell..And see how LOW the earning is!!!

https://ibb.co/cwnw8R

Of course. Their fees are clearly stated on the website.

Also you have to realise that nobody on the orderbook will pay you market rate. Bid orders will always be below market rate, meaning that if you buy from an ask order and sell to a bid order you'll always result in a loss even if the price stays the same or even goes up a bit.

This plus the 0.2% or so trading fees they take(which isn't much by crypto standards) is why you have less BTC than you began with.

4293  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] 27$ Bitcoin [W] 26.6 USD Paypal Transaction To Be Paid on: November 25, 2017, 04:57:50 AM
I'm Offering 27$ Bitcoin Preev Rate For A 26.6 USD Paypal Transaction Be To Paid

I Can Go First If You're Jr.Member And Have Vouches Otherwise We Can Use Middleman

Be careful. Paypal is a reversible method which means that even if you use escrow they can't protect you against chargebacks that may occur as a result of a dishonest, fraudulent trader that is trading with you.

And this can happen all the wy up to 180 days, in some cases even more depending on the credit card company.

Always trade with someone that has a previous history of dealing in paypal funds.
4294  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis Cloud Mining Review on: November 23, 2017, 07:51:54 AM
I started mining bitcoins on Genesis mining about a year ago.  This is a great way to make more BTC.
I made my money back in just under 4 months,  and everything after that is profit.  My payouts get bigger the more BTC is rising in value.
I very much recommend cloud mining.  Best part they pay out everyday.  I used a the mining calculator on cryptocompare.com to find out how much money I can make.
The contracts will sell out fast they always do.  Please use this code at the checkout and get 3% off your order.  hVIeOt

I also mine ETH, ETC, and ZEC  BTC is the best with the highest payouts.
This really is a great deal and a great investment.

It can definitely pay off if bitcoin price is rising, but i would think that you would in that case make just as much as if you bought some bitcoin and held it yourself, or perhaps even by holding some altcoins yourself.

This is because maintenance fees are set in fiat terms for most cloud mining services. So by buying a contract - you're hoping that BTC does go up within your contract length.

However, this is not a good long term investment, at least regularly. Halvings and difficulty climbing up all the time means that cloud mining will never be profitable on a regular basis, and many times you'll end up losing money.
4295  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitmixor ≠ bitmixer on: November 23, 2017, 07:42:23 AM
Did you get this link from one of the ads that were on google? If yes, you should really watch out for that in future so that you do not make the same mistake twice. Almost all ads that are listed in the first 2-3 hits when you search bitcoin mixer are going to be phishing sites trying to steal your money.

Only trust the links that come from this forum from their official account, or from an official reddit account.

Can't stress this enough. Avoiding phishing sites is as important as avoiding scam mixer sites.
4296  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Yobit.net Investment Good or Scam? on: November 23, 2017, 07:36:24 AM
I think it is going to close soon. They are asking lastly to play dice game many times in order to be able to invest your coins in the investbox, that's in fact very bad sign. So the safest thing is just staying away from this tool because it becomes very risky.
Your ideal is just a prediction, not the right informations . It's really hard to tell which is the legal project, only time will tell.
When you do able to experience on using the site for sure you would able to say such things. They are not scam as of now since they are still operating legally but when you meet up problems regarding on their service and not being answered by their stupid support you would really yell that they are scam.I never tend to put up on their investbox no matter how good the rate is monthly or annually.

Exactly my thoughts as well.

If you are willing to take a risk and do this then sure. But just know that their business model is completely undisclosed. We do not know how they are making so much money, it could be from their trading volume, yes, but why would they even distribute free money essentially to their customers?

I stay away from yobit, especially anything offering 0.1% per day or more, with a shady past. It works now, doesn't mean it'll in future.
4297  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Debit Cards Prohibited on: November 23, 2017, 07:04:59 AM
Hi,

Recently, VISA and Mastercard blocked transactions for bitcoin debit cards outside EU, and I really need to find a card that supports it outside Europe.

I've heard about Bitplastic, but it seems to be offline right now.

Any options/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Wirex has some new card where it can be used outside of the EU. However you do need to confirm your identity before you can actually use their services. If you are willing to do this, then there is really endless options.

I'm fairly sure that cryptopay and xapo has working cards right now as well.

It's really up to you to do the research and pick the one that is the best for yourself, though.
4298  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ✰ [ANN] BITMIXCOIN.IO ✰ High Volume Bitcoin Mixer ✰ SCAM PROTECTION! on: November 23, 2017, 06:52:10 AM
Thank you for believing in us and using daily our service.

we are the only mixer the provides fraud/scam protection.

I like the fact that you have scam protection. This is definitely a good step to take, in case anyone does feel like that they are getting scammed they have a trusted third party to go to in order to retrieve their funds.

However, i would definitely think that you should put around 10 more BTC somewhere else.

If someone does legitimately gets scammed, then the amounts will be way more than 10 BTC and i doubt that the current escrow funds will cover it. Just a suggestion, though.
4299  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ✓✓✓ The Most Secure Model of BitCoin Mixer - BitMix.Biz ✓✓✓ on: November 23, 2017, 06:48:42 AM
I like the idea of telegram bot. I think I will use.

Yeah the idea of telegram bot is good, but there are really no guarantees whether or not telegram will intercept this customer data even though they have a pretty good track record of being the #1 anonymous messenger.

OP, are there any plans of making a crowdfunded investment option?

Several mixers are currently doing this and personally, this not only attracts investors but also expands your "bankroll", which can in turn, attract bigger customers to use your service.

Wow, these look pretty nice for sure. Are they cleaned or in their original condition?

If Rmcdermott decides to back out of his offer, i'll match his offer as well. I prefer to get the metals to someone trusted in the community to verify their authenticity first, though(since i don't have a preciosu metals verifier), and without saying we're going to use escrow.

Let me know, thanks Smiley
