4301  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Small-time tech shops accept Bitcoin as payment on: October 06, 2019, 03:58:00 AM

4302  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the day trading profitable ? on: October 06, 2019, 03:02:53 AM
I am prepared myself for trading. But i need some suggetions from here. There are many way for trading in cryptocurrency. But i need correct one which is profitabe. I am prepared myself for day trading. Is it profitabe?

It depends on your experience and reserved capital on day trading.

The problem with day trading stems from its very root- being very risk. There are traders who lose their investments everyday due to day trading but they quickly recover those losses depending on luck. Also, it varies per coin depending on what resource you would invest on. Preferably, you would want to invest on high volatile and priced coins in the market and withdrew them quickly once the price increases from 10-15% from the initial price you acquired them.

It all boils down on experience, knowledge, and luck. There are experienced traders who still incur loss in day trading but it may be profitable once you start having the knowledge for it.
4303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DID I MAKE A MISTAKE INVESTING IN BITCOIN? on: October 05, 2019, 06:12:19 PM
You know this question is unavoidable...

DID I MAKE A MISTAKE INVESTING IN BITCOIN?

A lot of people have heard of the benefits achievable with BTC investments and decided to invest.
The recent market setbacks have brewed a very big question in the minds of new investors...

What will be your response to this question?

What is your basis for saying that investing in bitcoin is a mistake? Have you suffered a loss or is your investment far from reaching the price beyond the initial price you purchased it?

There are factors you need to consider before investing in cryptocurrencies. Unlike other investments that does not require time and effort after purchasing, investing in bitcoin is a high-risk high-reward type of investment where it requires you to diligently check the market, do some research, and consider the external and internal factors affecting its price.
4304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are we really investing in bitcoin? on: October 05, 2019, 04:45:45 PM
Is the service and profitability, even if bitcoin is highly volatile, are the only two reasons why bitcoin is attractive to investors? Any good opinions or answers? Thanks

Its face value and price on the market.

The reason on why gold and bitcoin are being compared to each other is because of the demand of the people on such. People are willing to buy bitcoin/gold on a price due to trends on investments. There are also people who are unknowledgeable about bitcoin but they purchase on such due to its volatile price on the market that may either be a short or long-term investment.

To be honest, most are overlooking the potential of the technology behind bitcoin- which is the blockchain technology.
4305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: October 05, 2019, 04:41:06 AM
Gambling is an industry that provides jobs to millions of people around the world.
There might be people living off on gambling wins but they'd soon run out of luck and end bankrupt and might even go insane or turn into a criminal.

There is a huge distinction between gambling that provides job opportunities for people AND people who gamble as their main source of income.

In the former, like you mentioned, it provides job opportunities to millions of people around the world. Not only does it contribute to the people but provides revenue for the country as well. The latter, however, is entirely different and significantly risky. They live around the edge wherein their main source of income is based on 70% luck and 30% skill.

4306  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Malaking pera, galing sa crypto on: October 04, 2019, 12:47:34 PM
need your answer mga kabayan.

Basically, the more you fill and provide your personal information (IDs, domicile address, etc.), mas malaki yung pwede mong ma-cash out na pera.

4307  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Blockchain Bring change into Africa? on: October 04, 2019, 11:52:28 AM
The  nature of Africa was decentralization! Africa was unite and great until  colonial masters began to centralize  everything. Now  all the resources is control by the  western world.  Now that the world is changing and  blockchain is bring back  decentralization to the world would Africa get  their  power back?

This actually depends on how their country would implement and adapt the change. It may provide various opportunities to people considering that their diverse culture and population can certainly increase the reputation and usage of cryptocurrencies in general. But the problem would arise when it comes to its application.

Remember that Africa, being divided into countries that are on the underdeveloped and developing states, have different priorities that their government needs to address. Education, infrastructures, poverty, and job opportunities are only a few of their current problems presently and I doubt that they could fit cryptocurrencies as their priority.
4308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not use Exchange instead of Mixer? on: October 04, 2019, 05:48:47 AM
So, Mixers provide service of shuffling bitcoins or provide addresses loaded with bitcoins along with private keys. In short, they provide service so to create anonymity between sender's and receiver's address so that no one can trace the transaction.
My question is why not use Exchanges? When we deposit funds on exchange, bitcoins get deposited on exchange's cold wallet. But when we withdraw funds, withdraw gets processed from exchange's hot wallet. So in short, it is very easy to do anonymous transfer by depositing funds on exchange and withdrawing to other addresses. Why to pay 1-3% fees on Mixers when it could be done for much less on Exchanges. Exchanges like Binance charge just 0.0005 BTC to process withdrawals.

The reason on why most mixers are profitable (and prohibited) are due to the fact that it provides absolute anonymity in the transactions. For example, if you were to use a mixer, the funds will be sent intermittently with necessary intervals to avoid tracking.

Exchanges, on the other hand, require you to fill details about your personal information (basically KYC). Depending on the exchange, some require personal IDs and addresses so you can increase the limits of your account with regard to withdrawal and deposits.

Although both have their corresponding transaction fees, mixers are generally higher in fees but they do provide absolute anonymity if you were to transfer funds from one wallet to another.
4309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alts you won't invest in on: October 03, 2019, 10:53:10 PM
Generally, I limit my choices to the top 10 cryptocurrencies in the present but there are others that reflect no chance at all. BTC, ETH, and XRP are one of the few investments that I personally have which among are considered as my short-term investments.

Preferably, it is highly advisable to diversify your investments by increasing your portfolio through equally dividing your investments. Focusing into one coin alone may be risky especially that you concentrate the risk into one coin compared to dividing it through others.

4310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin and casinos on: October 03, 2019, 07:25:59 PM
I have worked for a few years in a casino and I couldn't help but imagine that people should be able to gamble with bitcoin.

Is it already happening? - I don't mean on the internet

And do you think this will be future of casinos?

There are hundreds, if not, thousands of websites present that use cryptocurrencies as the main medium/currency in gambling due to its convenience and accessibility to most users especially in this forum. That is also one of the reasons on why there are campaign signatures advertising gambling websites here in the forum for their widespread of existence.

The future of gambling can consider cryptocurrencies as their alternative option for payment but it cannot replace the fiat system. An option cannot entirely replace a currency which is universally accepted around the world especially that the government accepts the utilization and usage of such.
4311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is now Among The Top 30 Currencies in The Entire World on: October 03, 2019, 06:56:47 PM
Bitcoin is now Among The Top 30 Currencies in The Entire World!!!

READ THE COMPLETE ARTICLE HERE:  http://worldpublicityblog.com/index.php/2019/09/26/bitcoin-is-now-among-the-top-30-currencies-in-the-entire-world/

I think you are construing bitcoin as a currency, which is in fact, not a currency but only as an alternative means of payment. No country or state uses bitcoin as their main medium of exchange in their transactions. Not to mention, there are countries that deny and prohibit the utilization of such, which is why it is wrong to view them as currencies being used in the world.

Lastly, bitcoin cannot be a currency with only a supply of 21 million in the world. This would make the currency very inflationary once it reaches the end of its supply in years to come.
4312  Local / Pamilihan / Re: CryptoTalk.Org Ban rate. 82/310 members = 26.45% on: October 03, 2019, 02:07:29 AM

That is true.

4313  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Daily trade Vs long trade on: October 03, 2019, 12:44:34 AM
I am a newbie of trading so i don't have proper knowledge about trading. But honestly i want to be a trader. But first time which trading is best for me daily or long term?
Thanks in advance.

It depends on how much capital you are willing to risk and your experience in the field of trading.

Generally in day trading, you risk your capital in a relatively short amount of time and recognize even the tiniest of gains on your part. On long trading, you trade but you have a specific goal that you want to reach on your capital gains. In short, the the longer you trade the lower the risk gets.

If you are relatively new to the field, I suggest that you read books, watch videos, and consider guides here in the forum on how to get started in trading. It is really a difficult process especially if you consider all the factors but it is most definitely profitable.
4314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Cock Fighting on: October 02, 2019, 05:57:51 PM
Cock fighting is the only game which i believe has the 50- 50% fair change of wining No interference from outside. I enjoy seeing the people screaming and cheering for cocks to win.

I feel bad when cocks kill each other with the blade in their claws.

Because of the way those cocks kills themselves made most people term the game as been cruel and illegal, because come to think of it, those cocks won't have fight themselves just like that though or else been placed to do it.
And ya, the fun part of any game that involves fighting is always the screaming from the fans, just  like in the cases of wrestling or boxing.
No question about that screaming part that add excitement with the crowds, people who enjoys the cruelty between those fighting cock who are trying to survive life. Cock fighting which been there for many years if being introduced online will attract followers and gamblers, even it will illegally facilitated there's still many that will patronize the service.

Cockfighting is embedded on Philippine culture even  before the spanish time. Its very popular especially on far flung areas, but now it cope up with technology also where you can now bet online. Though some animal rights defender protest and against it, still there is no clamour to stop it because its common practice in Philippines especially when thers fiestas or celebration.

I doubt that the Philippine government would halter and stop the operation of cockfighting as it became part of the culture of Filipinos. Like what I previously mentioned, it is one of the few type of gambling where it is televised in national television along with ads promoting different kinds of food for chickens. Although the sport may involve animals fighting and people may argue about animal rights, I think it is beyond the scope of what it covers.

4315  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Money laundering via BTC on: October 02, 2019, 06:31:40 AM
Is it possible to do money laundering via bitcoin? I mean as no one knows if you have bitcoin and how much bitcoin do you actually own, it could be used to convert black money to white right? Or at least store your black money without much hassle. But there is the risk of its value but I think for people who have lots of black money and don't want to be caught, this risk might be worth taking for them isn't it?
What are your thoughts?

This is one of the key reasons on why the government is against the world-wide implementation of bitcoin due to the fear of its anonymity factor. Every transaction in bitcoin, it protects the parties from knowing the exact location of each transaction. This is also the reason on why most people under the Dark Web use bitcoin as the main currency in order NOT to be detected by authorities.

There are a lot of way for money laundering but bitcoin is the best way among all the way of money laundering and for becoming favorite of bitcoin is one of the main reason is money laundering.

Money laundering via cryptocurrencies is the most convenient and safest way of doing it. The anonymity factor it provides and anyone can do it. Not only money laundering but sending money via remittances.
4316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need a movie about Bitcoin on: October 02, 2019, 04:24:08 AM
A movie centralized about cryptocurrencies may definitely bring positive implications especially to bitcoin but this would depend also on how they portrayed cryptocurrencies as a whole.
If they create a movie about the dangers associated on the transactions of cryptocurrencies, this may further strengthen the stigma and branding about it. On the other hand, if they produce a movie explaining the positive implications to the economy and opportunities to the community, this would at least alter the mindset of the people about cryptocurrencies as a whole.

There is actually a Bitcoin film. Its name is Bitcoin Heist and it came to the theaters in 2016. But there is not a Bitcoin film that gives detailed information about Bitcoin. Maybe we can see it in the future.

The fact that some did not know about the existence of such film means that there needs to be an adoption of a movie in order to increase its reputation in the world. A movie about bitcoin is a double-edged sword depending on how they portray bitcoin either as a boon or a bane.
4317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will There Comes A Time That All Online Gambling Sites Are CryptoCurrency Based? on: October 01, 2019, 11:30:53 PM
Anonymity and popularity of Cryptocurrency are two of it's the best attraction.
And Cryptocurrency games are more transparent.
Will, there comes a time that all online gambling sites will be Cryptocurrency based?

It highly depends on the country but most online gambling websites that I know require the supplement of KYC in their registration.

To answer your second question, I think the time that all online gambling sites will be Cryptocurrency based once we shift the medium system to an electronic type of cash. But for the time being, it is impossible that it would happen anytime soon. The fiat system will always be present no matter how we change the medium.

That will happen in time, i also believe on that but maybe online gambling sites will still accept fiat money and they will choose to accept both currency because they know some of the gamblers are still prefer to use fiat money since the value of cryptocurrency will tend to increase year after year.
Using fiat maybe but not on online gambling casino. I wouldn't bother my self to linked my credit card into the gambling site because there is a possibility that I was got hold by the bank because of gambling sources. I still prefer using cryptocurrency as a form of money on the internet. Time to time bitcoin casino will always be pumping in the gambling industry and that is expected. And all gambling online casino will be based on cryptocurrency.

The only time that cryptocurrency would be the main medium in online gambling sites is the time when we shift our system of payments, which is impossible for the time being. There are countries who lack access to the internet and other relevant stuff to cryptocurrency. Despite this shortage, making cryptocurrency as the main medium is potentially dangerous to the economy.

4319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Gold? Which one you would choose to invest for long term? Why ? on: October 01, 2019, 01:04:27 PM
Long-term: GOLD
Short and Long-term: BITCOIN

What makes gold valuable is its inherent nature being a precious material and a limited-supply asset. The continuous demand for gold is determined by the quantity of people who are willing to purchase it at a designated price. In addition, being a tangible investment, there are various uses for gold which would increase its demand overtime.

In bitcoin, although people have disagreements about it being a store-of-value or not, its volatility is what makes it a valuable short or/and long-term asset. Depending on its price, you can purchase/sell depending on the market price or value. Unfortunately, the current state of cryptocurrencies are still shaky which is why a full-wide adoption is yet to be expected.
4320  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cryptocurrencies are not harmful for economy on: October 01, 2019, 11:09:46 AM
In this crypto era there are few countries left which are still far behind to accept cryptocurrencies because the governments of these countries think that cryptocurrencies are harmful for economy they are just trying to ban cryptocurrencies in any way instead of making regulations which are must important.
So they can allow to invest and trade in stocks markets but not in cryptocurrencies that is not fair and unacceptable.

Cryptocurrencies perse are not harmful to the economy, as in fact, it is beneficial since it creates a system where there is an inflow and outflow of cash through its transactions.
What makes cryptocurrency repugnant to the government is its inherent nature and effect providing anonymity to its transactions without any trace left. Back in the days, people used cryptocurrencies as the main medium in online black markets (Silk Road) where they usually transact illegal drugs or services available.

Unfortunately, it created an ongoing stigma against cryptocurrencies and has been branded as something that is harmful, without even knowing its full potential to the consumers and businesses.
