4381  Economy / Speculation / Re: How to predict Bit coin price. on: September 13, 2019, 07:26:44 PM
Any body here now how to predict bitcoin price. Or is there a hint how when to buy and when to sell bit coins. Or how to make profits on buying and selling bitcoins.? I want to try buying and selling crypto currency.

Predicting accurately the price of bitcoin is something that no one can ever do, no matter how smart, skillful or talented they may be as its high-volatility and unpredictability make it near-impossible to predict. Although that may be the case, there are certain factors as to how you can know the price of bitcoin.

One thing you have to consider are the external factors that affect bitcoin and its overall usage. This may include but not limited to: reading the news, reviewing the market trend, checking the latest data about cryptocurrencies in general, etc.

Again just to reiterate, if there was a method that can accurately predict the price of any cryptocurrency, then probably everyone would be rich by now. Determining its price requires skill, patience, and determination as you may make decisions that can either make or break your investments.
4382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Marketing And Religion on: September 13, 2019, 02:04:46 PM
As we know that Gambling is prohibited in certain religions including Islam. If anyone does it, the earned money is not legal and is considered Sin.

But what if someone is promoting a gambling site on social media etc, will the money earned from it be legal provided he will never directly gamble ?

Gambling and advertising/promoting a certain gambling website are two different things that may seem similar. Although one might argue that promoting something that is illegal is the same as doing the action, they are still different in nature.
To be honest, it also depends on the religion and about their rules and regulations with certain acts (i.e. gambling, etc.). Like what you mentioned, Islam prohibits gambling but other religion prohibits the implication and effect you get from it.

At the end of the day, everything boils down to your character as an individual. Whether or not certain things/acts are prohibited due to a conflict with religion, what matters is the character and the overall attitude of a person.
4383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Sold 2BTC at $3,000 and BTC Bumped to $10,000 on: September 12, 2019, 05:23:50 PM
The beauty and chaos of cryptocurrencies revolve around its high-volatility and unpredictability. No person, no matter how talented or smart he is, may be able to accurately predict the price of bitcoin in the market. Although there are instruments, data, and research that may be able to predict the trend, it is still relatively different from knowing the future price.

On your experience, unfortunately, the price of bitcoin skyrocketed after you sold 2 of your btcs. I am very sorry to hear but no one really knows how the machinery works accurately. Use this experience and learn from the lesson to at least save a portion of your BTCs for investment purposes.
4384  Economy / Economics / Re: Crimes involving crypto have risen on: September 12, 2019, 11:58:29 AM
"Nearly 2.7 trillion won ($2.3 billion) have been lost to crimes involving cryptocurrency in the last two years, according to South Korean government data."

where do you see the improvements being made against crypto criminal activity. this can really hurt the price for traders/investors if conditions don't improve.

With the price of bitcoin increasing each day, more and more crimes involving stealing, scamming, or hacking of famous exchanges or wallets of users have been rampant each day. Unfortunately since bitcoin purely exists on the internet, these type of problems are inevitable and may continue to happen in the long-run.

Securing your bitcoins and providing a physical wallet may improve the security against hackers and potential thieves.

I belieV e it's not hard to regulate crypto if the government are willing to regulate it, and hopefully the big scams that has happened in the past is already enough to call their attention to start regulating the market, they cannot stop it, it's getting more popular and in order to protect the people, they need to be in a regulated market.
Regulating crypto is impossible,
It’s like regulating the internet.
What government can do is regulating what the subject in their very own jurisdiction can do with crypto.
This is very different.

This is actually one of the problems of decentralization. Without any agency to protect and provide security, the government cannot intervene and support the system. The most that they can do is to provide security covering the scope of the internet, but not on cryptocurrencies specifically.
4385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling just for fun? on: September 11, 2019, 05:33:56 PM
When people gamble their money and the results are positive, that is when they find it fun. But if they gamble and subsequently lose, they will try as much to feel the satisfaction of winning.

Although I do not want to eliminate the possibility of people gambling due to the enjoyment they feel, most gamble with a primary goal in their mind- which is to win and to earn cash quickly. The endless cycle continues until a person drains his/her earnings and starts to look for alternatives in finding cash to gamble again.
Unfortunately, while it may seem that they are enjoying, they do not see the negative implications that arise from this.

4386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is successful? - this one statement sums it up! on: September 11, 2019, 05:17:18 PM
The reason behind the success of bitcoin? The answer is the technology behind it: the BLOCKCHAIN.

Ever since the creation of bitcoin, the blockchain was developed in order to solve and eliminate the need for a third-party in handling our resources (i.e. banks, etc.). Another purpose that it covers stem from its very nature and convenience- cash and anonymity, which not every e-currency have. When people started to see the potential in bitcoin, its price skyrocketed the market and still continues to surprise almost everyone who has bitcoin stored in their respective wallets.

I just hope that people realize that bitcoin is more than its price. What is really valuable is the blockchain technology and its limitless potential in the future when applied to almost everything in relevance with transactions and data.
4387  Other / Meta / Re: How to detect plagiarism on: September 11, 2019, 05:32:56 AM

Based from my experience of reporting fake ICOs and plagiarized WhitePapers, I mainly use google and copy-paste parts of their paragraphs. If I see that parts of the highlighted texts are similar to different links provided in the search, then I consider it as plagiarism. The problem arises when someone checks the post history of a user as it would be very time consuming.

I believe that there are bots created by some users specifically functions to check plagiarized texts. I doubt that this was achieved by a single individual who took the time, effort, and patience to check millions of accounts in a short amount of time.

There are some users that can get away with plagiarism, some of these people are getting smarter but not using their smartness the right way. You may have to be on the look out of those text that replaces the letter "o" to  zero (0) or simply another font and because google bots doesn't understand it, your searches won't provide results and so you will think the user wrote the original text.

Actually, this already happened to me several times already. Impulsively copying and pasting the whole paragraph without even checking/reading the entirety could lead to poor and inaccurate results. That is why it is important that before you check the paragraphs for plagiarism, read them first and apply the necessary changes.
Usually, paragraphs that contain special characters or converted letters to numbers (i.e. like what you just mentioned) raises suspicion and doubt on the validity of the sentence. Those are one of the few signs that the paper MIGHT be plagiarized or at least edited.

Unfortunately, I do not know any such bot that can bypass or detect plagiarized work with edited sentences. Manual checking may yield positive results but it may be too time consuming.
4388  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [IFO]Why Governments Are Afraid of Bitcoin on: September 10, 2019, 06:03:01 PM
The government is being cautious not to repeat what happened in Silk Road when transactions were unable to be tracked, causing illegal purchases and money laundering. On the contrary, bitcoin impacts the economic positively. Decentralization may be the next generation of transactions via the blockchain wherein it eliminates the need for banks in storing our resources.

The government encourage centralization. Bitcoin helps you to have full control of your asset, many people might be afraid to invest in it, it is really gaining stability over the years. Over the last 2 months, it has not gone below $9000. The sooner the government encourages its people to use it, the sooner people can own their own money.

The price is something that many people care about, but it's not something that truly should be worried about. I'd much rather a stable $9000, then Bitcoin running up and down all the time -- because there's no way a currency is going to be able to be used on the world scale if it goes up from 3500 to 20000 then back down to 9000 and then keeps running around.

In the end, people want some sort of stability.

Governments are able to control the narrative about Bitcoin because of the fact that yes, bitcoin is used on illegal online sales (if we want to admit it or not) and yes, bitcoin fees are present and people hate fees, and yes confirmation times are slow sometimes, and so on and so forth. We need to fix these problems before we start saying that we're going to take over fiat easily.

If the price were to be stable, then people would disregard bitcoin as an investment alternative. Its high-volatility is what makes it attractive to investors as the returns are significantly larger compared to other investment mechanisms present. But I doubt that bitcoin would replace the fiat system considering the limitations it pose to certain users.

Future of Bitcoins - What will happens to BTC

When discuss about future of Bitcoin there are lot of Articles on various forums with different opinions and stories. Few of them agree that Bitcoin will remain as it is and has the idea that value of Bitcoin will increase. Some of them say that Bit coins will collapse it's own position soon. What will happen to Bitcoin...?

Bitcoin will still remain the dominant cryptocurrency in the next few years ASSUMING that its price and liquidity remains high.

When bitcoin was first introduced, people were skeptical about its implementation and usage. But now, almost everyone sees bitcoin as an avenue in yielding large amounts of investment either short or long-term.

My point is, bitcoin will still remain the dominant cryptocurrency due to its price. There are altcoins in the market that comes nowhere near the dominance of bitcoin and influence to the public/government. If the trend continues, we may expect the blockchain being wholly implemented as part of our daily transactions in the future.
4390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An indisputable proof that bitcoin is fake money on: September 10, 2019, 02:24:16 PM
I want to continue on the same line!! Bitcoin will never match the definition and usability of a real-world fiat currency so it makes no sense to compare bitcoin with them!

Without going theough all these high level fundamentals of the currency system, I can say, bitcoin is an absolutely new type of money for the evolved need of the consumers! Comparing bitcoin with fiat currency is a bad idea!

Both fiat and bitcoin are different in nature and accessibility. While fiat has been around for ages and people used it as an exchange for goods and services, bitcoin also acts on a similar manner, but is exclusively confined in the internet. That alone restricts its usage and puts an inevitable limitation as to its usage to individuals. In other words, only some people can have access in getting and using bitcoin as a means of exchange compared to fiat.

Currently, this may be the case but once the world changes and adapts, we might see cryptocurrencies being the main currency in the very far future.

4392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Money is Dirty Money on: September 10, 2019, 11:56:48 AM
And just a few years ago, our Education Secretary shunned billions of state-funds because they are coming from gambling. She didn't think it moral and proper to buy books and even build classrooms using the dirty gambling money.

What are your thoughts on these? Do you agree with it, or you consider these as old-fashioned views?

That is also what my brother tells me whenever he wins in casinos or any other bet. What he usually does is that, he spends the money as soon as possible, either he will treat the family or purchase a want rather than a need.
Ever since I got that idea from him, whenever I gamble with my friends and win some cash enough to purchase something or treat anyone, I would quickly spend it as if I do not own the money.

I remember my grandfather telling me that the money you win in gambling is a bad omen, which should be spent as soon as possible. Whether or not their claims are true, I just follow them diligently.

4394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the US Government Trying To Control Crypto? on: September 10, 2019, 01:58:32 AM
The only way that the government could manipulate cryptocurrencies (or bitcoin to be specific), is that if they have majority of the coins over the total supply. Although no one actually knows who owns who, there may be a slight probability that this may be their plan all along.

On the contrary, due to its decentralization, I doubt that there would be some kind of manipulation but there would be some monitoring done by the government. They would not intervene on the internal matters but once it affects the general welfare, that is when they would do something concrete about it.
4395  Other / Archival / Re: Is KYC benefit to crypto people or not on: September 09, 2019, 10:55:15 PM
Is KYC is benefit to crypto people or not. what are the advantages and disadvantages of doing KYC.

Universal money and Anonymous is the biggest strength of btc BTC, now every country follows KYC and then it can be controlled by someone.

Now KYC is trend in crypto market..... Cheesy

The purpose of banks/websites implementing the KYC function is for both the protection of the bank and the depositor with supplying information to prevent money laundering schemes. Although this tool may actually protect an individual, it eliminates the anonymity factor granted by cryptocurrencies. This function may be best used in current bank transactions but not on cryptocurrencies.

If more and more merchants are starting to implement this feature, it would be inevitable for others to create WITHOUT KYC. As everyone knows the dangers of supplying personal information online, it would be best if the government handles these type of problems than a third party.
4396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did you know about Bitcoin before becoming a bitcoiner? on: September 09, 2019, 02:03:34 PM
This is a question to people who at some point discovered Bitcoin, but only became Bitcoin enthusiasts later - what was your experience?

Like what Ygritte repeatedly told John Snow, I knew NOTHING about cryptocurrencies in general.

When my friend first introduced bitcoin, I was actually expecting some internet-related scheme that involves transactions via networking. I ignored it once but when he showed to me his wallet in our local exchange, my current stigma about earning online quickly diminished.

I first joined this forum last June 2017 with the mindset of earning money. But upon reading various threads across different categories, I quickly realized the potential of cryptocurrency if being adapted into our current financial system.
Today, I have reached the rank of Sr. Member and I still consider myself as someone who yearns to learn everyday about anything related to bitcoin and on how it could be fully implemented to our country.
4397  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Crypto Becoming More Accepted? on: September 09, 2019, 12:22:43 PM
In Asia (specifically the Philippines), although the usage of cryptocurrencies have been steadily growing over the past years, the BSP (Central Bank) has issued several notices and warned the citizens about the risks of utilizing cryptocurrencies. They are actually acknowledging its reputation but it would take some time before accepting it as an alternative payment.

Although there are already merchants accepting bitcoin compared before, there still remains some doubt with regards its overall usage and implementation to the general public. People have created a stigma towards anything that is online and that significantly causes cryptocurrencies to be used my some.
4398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling affected your personal reputation? on: September 09, 2019, 09:58:25 AM
It actually depends on which perspective you are looking.

Obviously, most of my family members know that my brother was into gambling and they were exhausting all the possible means in order to help/support him to overcome this habit and potentially an addiction. But on hindsight, most people that I know see him as someone who works hard enough to support and meet his obligations.
Fortunately, he overcame his addiction and went back to his old-self where he usually works hard to achieve his dreams.

The beauty of online gambling makes anyone anonymous. Not to mention, the convenience it provides eliminates the need for someone to go to actual casinos to bet and be succumbed to the ambiance of a casino.

Congratulations for breaking the most difficult barrier in achieving what seems to be impossible but hindsight, but manageable once you get the hang of it.

I actually stumbled upon your profile and there became a point wherein I used your comments history as my reference in-order to gain merits myself. Basically, your account became my point-of-reference in terms of gaining merits! I'm still far in achieving the luxurious Hero Member rank, but I'll get there soon!

Youre story is very inspiring. I am bit ashamed of myself, Ive checked youre profile registration date and I am way older but still in the rank of member. But now youre Hero rank, I guess I really need to pay attention on posting here and make some quality and humorous post. Thanks, for this.

Well the beauty behind creating quality threads is that you contribute to the forum while at the same time gaining merits to yourself! There is this relationship that forms that harmonizes the posts you create and the merits you earn. The core of earning merits stems from making quality posts and contributing to the forum. Merits are only the by-product of that contribution or a reward.
4400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Replace Gold! Here's Why... on: September 08, 2019, 08:27:26 PM
<snip...>

You are overlooking what essential distinction between gold and bitcoin which makes them both irreplaceable. Gold is an actual/tangible material that was naturally produced and formed on Earth. Due to being highly-sought as a luxury and as an excellent store of value for investment, this precious metal has been skyrocketing its price over the years.
On the other hand, bitcoin has been around only for a couple of years but it has been one of the most controversial investment due to its high-volatility and decentralized in nature.

People always compare and contend that bitcoin is the digital gold of the era. Their similarities in price, usage, and supply are undisputed but what makes them distinct is their very nature. Gold will always have an intrinsic value due to being a precious material/metal but bitcoin solely exists on the internet.
