4381  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: July 05, 2018, 06:37:56 AM
Getting that merit gathering seems very difficult. But I got a merit. This makes me happy and will continue to make valuable posts
You're a Facebook and Twitter spammer, none of those posts is valuable.

How you can call  him a spammer? He is just doing his job as Bounty Hunter.Your job is signature campagne BHunter and his twitter and facebook. Are you signature spammer?
I guess not,i didn´t prove it yet,but everyone get what they deserve, right? But how about this:

"Merit system has a purpose of quality posts being posted in the BITCOIN FORUM. But as you go through a topic in the BITCOIN FORUM you will realize that there are only few fixed members who are posting the required way , whereas , others are still posting as if they are only required to have a post daily or so. These members are generally of higher ranks and already merited. However , on the other side it is completely reversed . Even if the BITCOIN FORUM members , who are ranked newbie or junior member, are posting quality posts as per the guidelines, then also they are not getting any merit which is affecting their rank a lot. This has become a headache for some and is not really appreciated because despite the the work required accordingly, they are not being rewarded. "
Said a guy just after your reply.Thats my thoughts also, lot of you Legenderys got your rank with spaming forums with "high quality posts" (not saying you are the one of them, don´t know you) and job is done. Now you can offend others becouse you are a LEGEND ?

You can call me a spammer,i´m not writing all my post just becouse i have my own opinion and want it to share with all legends here to get merits.I just want to get enough post to be part of some twitter campagne.Just like you at the begining. And we all have a same goal!

I really hope that you have no idea what you are talking about. I will not discuss who is LoyceV,  and what he is done for cryptocurrency community, I'm gonna mention that he is a merit source, but calling him a signature spammer you have to be out of your mind. Check his post history and tell me if you can compare it to yours?

Here is not a place to "work", if you support a project you can put the signature while you discuss different subjects, express your opinion or helping the others. This is not turning you into a worker and for sure this is not a way to make a living out if it.
It should be just a hobby , but spammers like you are abusing the forum and turning it in a main income source.

This is the difference. We have jobs, we have good salaries and here we are trying to popularize the cryptocurrency to be worldwide accepted.
You are just after the easy money, the more, the better. This is what is wrong.
4382  Other / Politics & Society / Clinton have a HUGE Weiner problem,700k+ emails and backups on: July 04, 2018, 10:28:13 PM
Tired to see all the bull# threads in the Politics section so let's start a real one.

She deserves to walk the "green mile" if you ask me, after the body count the Clinton's have left behind.
I guess that was the Abedin live insurance, because she know how Clinton's are dealing with problems and you never know when you gonna become a problem.

Quote
The Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Hillary Clinton have a HUGE Weiner problem that is even bigger than we first realized.

According to the recently released inspector general report, on September 28 and 29, 2016 the New York office of the FBI immediately reported to the Washington headquarters its discovery of, first, 141,000 and then 350,000 emails on the laptop of Anthony Weiner — also known as “Carlos Danger,” a now-convicted sex offender. Mr. Weiner is the husband of Hillary Clinton’s inseparable aide Huma Abedin.

Now we know by October 4, the New York office had found 700,000 emails. The New York agents had seen and reported to FBI leadership they had seen email headers, all domain names, Mrs. Clinton’s initials on one sensitive but not classified document, and the missing BlackBerry backups.

The New York agents described it as the “entire file” of all Hillary Clinton emails from 2006 until 2016, including the BlackBerry messages that Comey himself had referred to as “the golden emails.”

4383  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Want to learn Basic IT and Linux on: July 04, 2018, 07:38:52 PM
Learning basic IT and Linux is not an easy task for someone without previous IT experience.

Let me give you some tips.
Start from here :
https://www.edx.org
This is free platform for online education and certification provided by the world leading  universities and organisations like MIT, Boston university, Linux Foundation etc.
The courses are free, you pay only for certificate /world wide accepted/ if you want one. You can finish the course without buying the certificate.
I can recommend two courses i've taken.
Introduction to Linux : https://www.edx.org/course/introduction-linux-linuxfoundationx-lfs101x-1

Blockchain for business :
https://www.edx.org/course/blockchain-business-introduction-linuxfoundationx-lfs171x-0

I see they have more new courses for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. I guess they deserve some attention too. Just search the site.

Good luck
4384  Other / Meta / Re: Will the merit system be removed by BTT in future? on: July 04, 2018, 07:15:50 PM

I would like to know what was your rank before the merit system introduced?

I was a regular member with 10 initial merit.
Now it seems today I reached my activity for Sr. Member and I need a 9 merit to rank up. I don't really care when/if I'm gonna get those merit /I'll be happy to change my avatar, tho/, but I can say from my experience, the merit system is working good - if someone like me - just an ordinary guy can get 230 merit from Jan til July with my gibberish English, that sounds worse than cockney, I'm sure that everyone can do it.
There is one difference - I'm not a bounty freak.
The signature campaign I've joined are to collect some coins to open some LN channels when my LN node is up and running... Wife is not happy if i use money from the family budget. (Well, I have bought some BTC last summer with real money, not by shitposting)
Maybe there's one more difference, I have a well paid full time job, and the crypto is just a hobby!
So guess what, we have different priorities here.

Move this to meta, and change the Subject without the CapsLock on.
Bottom left corner, the move link, next to lock.
IMO, I'm pretty sure that you not gonna get your account back.
Good luck.
4387  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: July 04, 2018, 10:56:57 AM
What is needed to add something to the rules??
I already started a thread here with request to add the use of homographs to be forbidden in the rules.
I have opened a Poll, too.
Is there anything else I should do?
4388  Other / Meta / Re: Will the merit system be removed by BTT in future? on: July 04, 2018, 10:42:13 AM
As we all know since the merit system It has been very controversial fact on this forum. According to my experience, it is not easy to get merits on BTT. I have got 9 merits so far but I am dying to get one more merit to be a member. meanwhile, there are plenty of people who have not got even single merit.

I think BTT followed Reddit karma system introducing the merit system But I am afraid whether it works in a similar way to Reddit. Obviously, getting karma on Reddit is not this much harder. Therefore, even though the intention is good everybody doubts now, whether the merit system works as everybody thought at the beginning.

I admit it is important to maintain the quality of this forum But I am not sure Merit system is the answer for it. Will BTT introduce any other system in future instead of the merit system?

NO!

And never been controversial. It works fine from the day 1.
Update>
Looking trough your post history is enough for me. Better move to Reddit if you like the system there

I'm more for Hal Finney.
Isn't it a too big coincidence to Hal Finney lived in the same neighborhood as Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto?
He was the fist to receive a bitcoin transaction?
I know all the emails in between debugging crash logs etc, but isn't that the way to hide himself away?
Seems like we will never know.

Too little info in your title.
For the future, provide more info in the subject so you can get more help.
It should be easy to find the answer just with a quick look in google >

During the past week, the price for RAM on the EOS network increased more than tenfold in a bonafide trading frenzy. Now, some in the EOS community are worried about the possible negative effects of RAM trading and speculation on the network.

I agree, more and more useless threads appear every day, it's heading his way to the situation in the Bitcoin Discussion and the Politics and Society before Flying Hellfish.
I think we need a section for all these "free services", there can be moved all the review for merit services and those Twitter audits. I'm sure that this will be a good move.

Honesty baffles me how a phishing site can outrank the real one on Google search.
Today is the first time I hear .to is a phishing site, and this is one of the reasons, it always pops up in Google, I always thought it was just a backup copy of the forum or a mobile version. I was wondering why I get logged out each time.
I hope you never tried to log in there. Maybe now is the time to change your password just in case.

4397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The largest bank in Norway announced cooperation with IOTA ... on: July 03, 2018, 11:35:40 AM
This is interesting, Sbanken former Skandiabanken has the Coinbase integration for quite some time now, well you can only see your balance in coinbase, you cannot operate or make transfer trough it.

I actually found the news on the coindesk so it was back in 2017.
https://www.coindesk.com/norways-internet-skandiabanken-launches-coinbase-integration/

Looks like Norway is heading towards the cryprocurrency acceptance faster than the other Europeans countries.
4398  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I got merits, lots of them - do you want some?? on: July 03, 2018, 10:21:55 AM
Dear newbies, here is one thing more to remember:
Don't quote long posts (often is the OP) without editing them. It's awful reading the same wall of text 20 times per page.
It's very simple. If you are referring to the whole post, then just quote it, delete the text and write ~snip~ or similar, that it.
If you referring to a part of the text, just leave this part and remove the rest.

Sorry TMAN for the off-topic.

4399  Other / Meta / Re: Should ANN and services threads be excluded from the merit system ? on: July 03, 2018, 07:24:52 AM
Now first thing to do is to keep an eye on those accounts receiving all those merits what they gonna do with it.

I wish to believe that they will distribute the merit to the most valuable bounty/signature participants, as it should be, but this is just too good to be true.
4400  Other / Meta / Re: How did you lost your bitcointalk account? on: July 03, 2018, 07:17:07 AM
Apart from your list and what other users posted, there's also "Public Wifi Networks/Connections".
- Here's a useful link: 5 Ways Hackers Can Use Public Wi-Fi to Steal Your Identity
How can they sniff your packets if the site uses an encrypted connection?
There are highly advanced packet sniffers which sit on the remote servers and are capable of doing so without logging the traffic. Anyway, packet sniffing wouldn't work here as the only sensitive data involving accounts is the password which is encrypted and stored in the database as a hash. Such data even if accessed by the packet sniffers won't  be in human readable format.

OK, updated accordingly Wink

I'm not a coder or a back-end type of guy but the link that I provided, has other things apart from "Packet Sniffing" and I believe those still apply.
Agree with that, now it should be fine.
