Sad
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye, hmm?

Heh, Blinderer,   Cool LOL
You know you quoted a bitch, now you can be happy about that.

i have a dream! i dream of large corporations/governments competing for blocks with 100,000's of 0.00001BTC fees

I have a dream where a bitcoin is worth $400,000 each three halvings from now so the blockreward is over a million bucks and miners still won't care about fees.

If BTC value doubles more frequently than the blockreward halves, fees will never be needed to sustain miners. Of course BTC can't grow exponentially in purchasing power forever, but it can in nominal terms if the U.S. Dollar ever hyperinflates.

I hear ya and support what you're saying. Time for Core to get w/ the rest of us on making blocks bigger. The fun shall begin again.
443  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 19, 2016, 06:43:07 AM

noone gets to tell devs what they can and can't do ... you choose who you follow, the genuine or the charlatans and deceivers

You are NOT marcus agustus. So  whoever controls his account, here's what I can do. I can say either Core stops stalling or I will sell. I can follow through.

It doesn't matter if Core is sincere in thinking a settlement protocol is best or if they are being selfish and deceptive. What matters is that they want something i don't want and I don't have to play this game if I don't like the rules.
Or, you can chill.
444  Economy / Securities / Re: BTCJAM on: February 19, 2016, 05:20:32 AM
Anyone have anything to say about investing with them? Any reviews that could help me out.
Don't (invest) your coinage w/ anyone. Hold and let the market do its thing. Profit shall come like you can't imagine.
445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Butterfly Labs loses Lawsuit... 39 million on: February 19, 2016, 05:09:39 AM
I almost placed an order for a miners from BFL but the "pre-order" put me off...

Maybe they can pay back in bitcoins?
I learned my lesson w/ these guys back in the 2013 summer and this pre-order BS. Don't do it, just save your coins - I mean it with all sincerity. I wasted 13 coins at that time on this garbage; want to be me? Profit: .3 in today's dollars. All newcomers should not look to mining to gather more coinage, just spent more of said coinage for naught. The difficulty goes sky-high during pre-orders (and normally during any period) and beyond so your miner that may come in the next few-to-6months will get you nothing. Buying and holding is precious and not part of some BS talk, can't stress it enough. You're saving BTC and money by checking out what I'm saying, not trying to cut you out of easy BTC. Don't do it and fall for it, I wish I had back my 13 and another 20ish that I spent on mining contracts from back then. Saving/holding is way undervalued in this BTC world - never let them go to anyone or you're gonna fail.

Prices are getting too high at this point to be able to play the trial and error in the mining game and be able to recover ever and have a decent BTC stash as prices keep going up in this next bull market. Hold and do not play around; this is your final advice as there are no ez fixes to getting more money here. If I placed my address below like others, I'd expect many coins in general from onlookers but I want none of them, just due diligence for newer types to do what's right for them in this crucial period. Mainstreet won't be able to keep up after this next rally upwards, so now is your chance and do not squander this opportunity. You can thank me later, just buy and hold (don't invest or mess around w/ your BTC as you go forward). Any Q?, ask (PM) before you screw yourself on a fast faulty mess-up that just profits the traders and the like.
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin. $15-$25. This Year. on: February 19, 2016, 04:48:02 AM
But why you are expecting this year 15$?
Maybe few years after but why this year?
What if everyone jumps in to BTC?

It jumpst to at least $15 BECAUSE everyone will jump into BTC this year.
2013 will happen again.

There are 2 cryptocurrencies available on the major exchanges. Gemini will most likely add LTC, so the only major exchange without Litecoin will be Coinbase.

When Bitcoin bubbles again, people will be looking for cheaper alternatives to buy. And what do they see on the exchanges? This strange commodity called ''LTC''. And it is not $1400 each like ''BTC'', but only $7! And they do a bit of research and find out LTC has in the past ALWAYS outperformed Litecoin, even reached $48 at some point! SO what do they do? Instead of buying 1 BTC with $1400, they buy 200 FULL Litecoins instead. People start speculating again, LTC demand increases, people rush to trade their few BTC for MANY precious LTC, and the price SKYROCKETS again.

That is what will happen... Smiley
Precisely, well said. The LTC price (even if bought via wire transfer) compared to BTC price now is a steal and the end result of the next LTC bubble will get you way more BTC when its price is high during its bubble and you can bounce via BTC/LTC or vice versa and then to cash if you so choose. For example, if this next BTC/LTC run mimics the 2013 hike (which it is likely to do or more) you get 6-7 times more BTC (from your LTC) or if it models the LTC halving last July - you get ~4x current prices in BTC. Either way, that's how you make a lot of Bitcoin when you have not much of them atm. These events only happen sparingly (oops, rare), so be on the fun side of this trade.
447  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 18, 2016, 05:49:46 PM
we can all use paypal as a "temporary off-chain solution", ok?

You have to try and empathize with the mind of a new user being introduced to bitcoin and understand that many need to take incremental steps in learning and using it... onramp services like circle and coinbase are well suited to fill this role as they have better support, and handle the complex security for the clients, and the clients have to buy the bitcoins from them anyways so may as well setup a temporary wallet with them too.
Key point. I've long postured that this ball game needs to have a soft landing for all the newcomers and grandmas we're trying to introduce it to. That said, if there's no incentives to use BTC (discounts on products) via merchants then these new folks will have no reason to use it and then we're just stuck w/ speculators and the investment community, which is better than nothing. IOWs, there's a time and place for geek snobbery but when the party shows up, let's tone it down a notch. Tongue
448  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 18, 2016, 04:11:15 AM

the target reached and have a breakout, Im sure we can reach $450 soon
Keep calm and stay hold your bitcoin  Cool
So many people want to see more TA rather than proto-talk. Let this be the start of the good stuff.

He probably sold the account for peanuts as the new owner clearly hasn't posted. Who pays for an account and doesn't make use out of it, esp that of a hero member?

The new owner did some sort of alt scam and then ran for it as far as I can tell. Even less of a long termer than the original owner but still in the same misanthropic spirit.
Interestingly weird, post that link so anyone else can see. Thx GD
450  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 18, 2016, 03:45:49 AM
So is the current upward trend based on anything specific? It doesn't seem that any fundamental disagreements have been resolved. Is this simply people hunting shorts to push it up to then ride shorts down?

(I expected some movement due to alter pump and dumps but was still surprised with this. I expected some ltc movement before btc movement. )

What's driving this up trend and what's the thought as to where we are going? I guess I expected more 380 sideways until 2mb resolved. I'm happy for the increase, it just doesn't seem real and I'm having difficulty believing we are now upward and onward. Like weird btc ptsd lol

The Chinks who are behind the pump seem to think that will force Core's hand because of the implied threat that maybe they won't be so committed without a clear answer.  Nobody in China wants to see a contentious hard fork and now they think they have avoided the risk.  Core has yet to respond publicly.

I think this is overly optimistic, but what do I know? It seems like celebrating a winning election before the votes are counted, not exactly an unknown occurrence in Bitcoinspace.

Shell shocked - which can lead toward a Tarmi exit if the course is stayed.
451  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 18, 2016, 03:29:53 AM
Tarmi being a prime example of getting killed on margin.

good ol tarmi. i simply loved that fart.  Kiss

he sold his account long time ago after he got wrekt .

i told him at that time, you will be here just as long as this bear market goes on. as soon as the tide turns you and your shithole-friends will be gone, but we, the bulltards, will still be here.

and thats exactly what happend.  Grin

419$

Lol!
Well I'm glad I hold everything, I'd just like to find somewhere to trade correctly... Anyone has a site? I don't really like kraken...

Kraken is awesome!

Well what do you find so awesome? No margin trade and leverage is only in EUR/BTC no? Maybe it changed but last time I went on it it was only that :/

Low fees, few documents required for reasonably high limits, they dont ask you where your money comes from (bitstamp!!!), fast processing time.

I would never use margin in non-mature markets and with extreme caution in developed markets. Margin will kill you.
Tarmi being a prime example of getting killed on margin.
453  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Someone logged into my btc-e account. What do I do? on: February 17, 2016, 05:14:10 AM
My stuff is good. What is the decadence(totals or thereabouts) in your account? Did you make a move recently?

Investors Are Sitting On The Most Cash Since 2001, Least Overweight Stocks Since 2012

Lots to work with moving forward. Smiley
455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin close to $600 before summer starts! Even much higher levels coming. on: February 15, 2016, 04:12:29 AM
That's impossible, you guys see a small spike and go nuts. $500-600 would be a pretty good realistic expectation by the end of the year, that's what I've been saying since December but now I even doubt my owns predictions. Bitcoin has been hit hard and I don't think it will ever break the $1000 barrier anytime soon because of 2013's bubble scare, many people lost a lot of money there and I think many will be scare off to buy at "high" prices again without any actual news or developments.
The economies of the world are crumbling and most of the worst of it is yet to come. Bitcoin is becoming a go-to asset class and this is merely the first inning of a very long ball game that will be playing out over the next year and after, coinciding w/ the halving and beyond. At some point, the Winklevoss ETF will be coming and that's when the institutional hedge funds will be scooping up BTC to make up for all their other failing investments which affect pension plans in many countries. Those that are currently belittling or shocked at people talking about 4 or 5 figure BTC prices down the line will likely miss out as they will have sold way too early.
456  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think bitcoin will used as National Currency on 2026? on: February 14, 2016, 10:49:11 PM
Paul Rosenberg of CryptoHippie was just Operation Freedom (w/ Dr. Dave Janda) today, which is a major talk show in the Ann Arbor area that is also listened to worldwide. If you check his bio, he's a cyber security expert who formerly worked for NASA and other military contractors for the aforementioned topic. Anyways, his CH is one of those VPNs that blocks NSA spying on your shit and he's a frequent guest on the show mentioned above. His final spiel about the banking situations developing around the world is for people to possess gold, silver and yes, Bitcoin. This targeted audience is the precious metals type, so to hear them getting a dose of Bitcoin being a source of value equivalent to their metals was very powerful. Increasingly, Bitcoin is being seen and heard of as a strong go-to haven for economic turmoil that we would have thought unheard of in years past.

Red dragon territory is over, overbought is near or above $500 going forward and receding by the hour. Moon incoming, short deez nuts.
458  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500 Within 2 Months? on: February 14, 2016, 06:54:58 AM
No doubt the btc price will hit $500 in the next few months. Where it settles after the fact is not known. We could go up sky high or just meander around where we are or slightly higher. This year, the economy will buckle across the world and folks are gonna be interested in stable assets - so bitcoin and precious metals will shoot up to something you never thought of. This is the year that will make you a believer again in high prices. 2013 bitcoin prices? Moon
459  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 14, 2016, 06:44:11 AM

So, basically bitcoin is going to hell. Cuz Biff, Billy or Barnie said so. You selling the farm on this? Roll Eyes
460  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 14, 2016, 06:39:19 AM
I just now notice that user tarmi has finally died from shorting bitcoin. Cheesy

He got rekt and sold his account. Can't win.
Yeah, he got hot-boxed by the eternal bear market of yesteryear (after a long run of amazing profits - [I'm great at this and can do no wrong Cool]) and failed to adapt to the new wave in this market. His prior hubris and arrogance reminds me of at least 2 mainstays around here. We'll see if they get crushed as well. My sympathies. Not really.
