Hmm... Arsenal are still quite silent in the transfer window. We have already got past the first half of January. They won't have a long time to finish the deals in their mind if they wait longer.

I wonder why Arteta is still waiting in fact.    Because he looked quite keen on making some signings in this month. Maybe a move for Serhou Guirassy? I think that it might be possible. Because he has a release clause worth only 17.5 million € now. If they have a more effective scorer like him they can be more assertive for the title race as well. But let's see what goes around Arteta's mind in the coming days.

It was a really productive match for Fenerbahçe against Adanaspor today.    We had 6 shots on target and all of them ended up with goals. Lincoln was finally back after having a really serious knee injury for like 10 months. İsmail Kartal put him in the starting eleven directly in this match and I really liked his performance as well.

Because despite recovering from a really bad injury he scored a goal and made an assist. There have been some speculations like Ankaragucu is interested in Lincoln but I wonder whether Fenerbahçe think of sending him from the team these days. 

Back-to-back title is quite possible for Manchester City when we think about it on paper. Because technically they have one of the best squads in Europe now. And they are playing according to Guardiola's really solid system as well. However this task is still going to be quite difficult for them at the same time.

The reason why is that they have really challenging opponents such as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Manchester City won the title for the first time in their history previously. It would be really challenging to retain the title against these more experienced teams.    De Bruyne and Haaland are needed as a duo for Manchester City from now on to increase their chance.

It was quite enjoyable to meet Steve again and chat with him. The food and beers were great in the meeting which happened quite late due to Steve's flight times.

The thing that made me excited the most is that the Australia-Open started. It is quite sad that Nadal had to withdraw from the tournament before even it started. Djokovic is absolutely the favourite of the tournament by far. I think that the only name who can make difficulties for him is Jannik Sinner.

Even though I had a ticket for the match last night I couldn't go to the Efes match. Efes won the match by dominating it. I can say that Efes has made quite progress in terms of game in the recent weeks. Now Efes are going to play home against Barcelona and after that against Monaco. In case of winning both of these matches Efes would come to a position to be assertive for play-offs again.

Palmer continues to make his owners win nice amount of points every week. As of now I'm regretful for not making him the captain. It is a really unlucky night for the players who have Ederson in their squads today. The Brazilian goalkeeper had to leave the game by getting injured in the 8th minute already.

Frankly I wasn't thinking that the interest in AFCON would be this high. It is quite pleasing to see that there is a crowd of people who want to join nearly every pool on the forum from now on. Hele ki son zamanlarda aldığımız bol gollü galibiyetler beni iyice mest etti.    Galatasaray'ın da Sivasspor karşısında takılması sayesinde nihayet bir puan farkı koyabildik. Galatasaray derbisindeki performansımız da sağlam olsaydı şimdi puan farkını daha da açabilirdik ama yine de şu an iyi bir konumdayız. Biz bu kadar üretken bir futbol ortaya koymaya devam ettiğimiz sürece Galatasaray'ın bir adım önünde kalmayı başarabiliriz.

- Juventus - Lazio

Atalanta and Lazio have reached this stage by eliminating really tough teams such as Milan and Roma respectively. Therefore Fiorentina and Juventus might need to be extra careful in their matches. But still especially Juventus' recent performance is very convincing. I don't think Lazio can eliminate them even though there are 2 legs in the draw. This season is really important for Allegri to consolidate his seat. He had better aim the Coppa Italia and Serie A titles both. 

I also think Copenhagen did a really great work despite being the least favoured team in Group A. They played really fearlessly against all of their stronger opponents on paper. I say on paper because for example Manchester United showed a really poor performance and to be honest that performance deserved the last position. Copenhagen and Galatasaray were much more of a fighter compared to Manchester United.

Anyway when we come back to the main topic Copenhagen's job is going to be very difficult in this phase of the Champions League. Because they are about to face the biggest title favourite which is Manchester City.    This is most probably the end of the road for Copenhagen as a result.

After Šarūnas Jasikevičius has taken over Fenerbahçe have a good series with an easy fixture and have reached an assertive point to qualify for play-offs. We have captured the head-to-head advantage against Partizan and Maccabi as well. I was also expecting us to win easier however we managed to win after over time despite its being difficult. Wilbekin scored 30 points and I think he showed a performance which deserved not only to be the player of the match but also the player of the week.

As I chose Real Madrid to win the cup in BSFL I want Real Madrid to win. I hope the old Fenerbahçe player and young wonderkid Arda Güler to play longer in the final match against Barcelona. After our (Turkish) Super Cup match wasn't played I'm happy that there isn't any very big problem broke out in the Spanish Super Cup so far. However I still couldn't accept that teams are selling their souls for money.
