441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: January 19, 2024, 12:42:46 AM
I've been watching and reading a great deal about the individual who started the whole Bitcoin network.  It seems that Satoshi Nakamoto vanished shortly after Gavin Andresen replied with an email to Satoshi that he (Gavin) was going to visit with the CIA.  Almost like something out of a Hollywood movie and Satoshi disappeared just after the email? BTC
Nobody knows who is or are Satoshi Nakamoto.

The first on chain peer-to-peer transaction is between Satoshi Nakamoto and Hal Finney so there is a conspiracy theory that Hal Finney is Satoshi Nakamoto. However, Hal Finney denied it and he already passed away years ago.

442  Economy / Economics / Re: The savings problem on: January 18, 2024, 10:20:45 AM
People have no other ways than investment into something safe and profitable in long term.

Because if they keep their money in savings, interest rate is always smaller than inflation rate so that a longer they keep money in savings, a more loss they will get, not profit.

Governments and central banks will try to do financial regulations and eventually they announce they beat inflation, control it and life gets back to normality. However, the fact is always opposite, citizens bear the failure of governments and central banks. Producers will make smaller products while consumers will have to spend more money to buy it. It is not a winning against inflation from government and central bank.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 18, 2024, 03:43:35 AM
Is there any precedence for that though? If I remember correctly, their point deduction happened because they faked their accounting report[1]. There is nothing related to their participation in the Super League. While it is not surprising if they get another form of punishment from the Seria A governing body, I believe forbidding them from participating in the next season is way more effective compared to a point deduction since the goal of that competition is simply to get more money. Juventus will still earn money if that does happen, although it seems unlikely given how fans vehemently oppose this new competition.

[1] https://www.goal.com/en/news/why-juventus-have-been-docked-15-points-italian-football-federation/blt4776860c5347c3c2
I know but I believe it is a reason on tip of iceberg and there is no coincidence for that investigation against Juventus. It happened after Super League seemed to come closely to activation day. It is also not coincidence that after got the serious punishment, Juventus announced that they left Super League.

They possibly realized that they will got more cost from participation in Super League plan before it succeeds and they can get profit from it. Potential cost is bigger than potential benefit so Juventus gave up.
444  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tools and Indicators for Price Action analysis on: January 18, 2024, 01:15:14 AM
volume squeeze momentum. so many indicators for the market orders. every exchange has charts you can use to see where the market may go in every time frame you choose.

some traders are analyzing price action with just the form of candles and they could already determine price action. that would be for the experts i guess but most intermediate traders know the rule of thumb since what goes up must come down.
Volume is most important indicator in any market and for any coin. If your analysis does not take trading volume into account, it is a big hole for nightmare to happen with your trading decision and positions.

Big trading volume will be helpful for enter and exit the market with less price impacts and loss because of small trading volume. With big trading volume, technical analysis will be more accurate and it's explained why institutional investors always prioritize assets with big trading volume. They choose safety for their capital than chasing profit and don't have appropriate risk management.

Comparing Juventus' current performance with the early season performance, it is easy to guess that the team's performance is much more organized and strong than before. At the start of the season we saw that Juventus players had a lot of trouble scoring. They could not win by a large margin. But now Juventus' attacking players are playing very well. The performances of Vlahovic, Chiesa and Rabiot are very good. We are seeing more improvement in their performance day by day. Juventus now seem fully capable of challenging Inter Milan for the title.
By giving up Super League, Juventus will not have risk to be punished with point deduction like the 10-point deduction they got in the past season. This season, two main players Vlahovic and Chiesa are playing better and they are important pieces for their attacking system. These good forms of those players actually help Juventus to gain a more power attacking ability in this season.

So far in Serie A, it looks like only Juventus are able to compete against Inter Milan as they both have excellent forms and are dominating the league. AC Milan are trying to chase both Inter Milan and Juventus but they will not have good chance to succeed if both Inter Milan and Juventus won't suddenly have too bad forms in coming months.

A Bitcoin price chart with price since 2009: https://bitcoin.zorinaq.com/price/

It's interesting that all the times I saw someone talk about bitcoin's bubbles and bursts
They will see less bubbles and bursts if they see Bitcoin price in logarithmic scale or with yearly candles or with yearly lowest price. They will see less volatility and a stronger upward trend.

Seeing Aston Villa unable to maintain their position in the top four is very possible because their current position is quite helped by Tottenham experiencing a decline due to their players being injured, but I think Arsenal will stay in the top four and if they fail Arteta's position may be threatened, and Tottenham to be in the top four is very possible but West Ham doesn't seem like it, they can sometimes appear surprising but also disappointing afterwards.
Aston Villa only suddenly rise in this season and join top four and it will be very challenging for them to maintain good performances and defend their position in top four. Arsenal, Tottenham are two biggest competitors with Aston Villa with current table because Aston Villa have only 3 points more than Arsenal and Tottenham. They have same total matches like Tottenham but already played one match more than Arsenal. This means if Arsenal win their match, they will have same total points as Aston Villa.

Other clubs behind those three clubs will have many works to do to reach to these three clubs and I honestly don't consider they are big threats for Aston Villa.
448  Other / Meta / Re: Allow to make thread self-moderated even after posting on: January 17, 2024, 01:24:40 AM
I didn't make this thread self-moderated when I posted and now I want to as I feel there are few comments that shouldn't be there. Should op be allowed to make thread self-moderated after posting? I.e, able to edit thread later on to make it self-moderated, what do you think?
If forum allows to change a normal (not self-moderated) thread to a self-moderated thread, scammers will abuse it a lot.

They can start a scam project and manage a thread normally until forum community start to point out some vagueness and scam signals of the project. The team will surely start to turn it to self-moderated to censor scam reports against their scam project.

Your proposal can be good for non scammers but it will be abused by scammers so generally it's not good idea.

In some boards, like Meta, you can not create a self-moderated thread. If you already have a thread in like Reputation board, as a self-moderated one, and you move it to Meta, it will automatically turn to not self moderated thread. You can not move it back to Reputation and reclaim a self-moderated feature.

450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Any means of combining multiple output into 1 ? on: January 17, 2024, 01:10:26 AM
If I'm to receive like 30 different deposits from 30 different wallets into one wallet, which will make all these transactions appear like separate outputs if I want to send them all at once to one wallet,
First, you must be clear here.

Do you have 30 different addresses, UTXOs in a same wallet or Do you have 30 different addresses in 30 different wallets?

If it is a first situation, 30 different addresses in a same wallet, it will be easier to consolidate your 30 UTXOs (inputs) into one output. You only have to wait for Bitcoin mempools to be cleaned and give you cheap transaction fee rates to consolidate your inputs.

Guide to consolidate small inputs.

If it is a second situation, it will be more complicated and you will have to import 30 private keys into one wallet and sign your consolidation transaction from that wallet.

Note that the Output, the receiving address after your consolidation, should be a Segwit address. Because it will help you to save transaction fee in future when you need to move your coins.

Why people should be using SegWit addresses

Roma is not very far from the other teams and in the last games Roma lost against strong teams such as Juventus and Milan. I don't know why Roma's management thinks the current results are so bad that they fired Mourinho
Roma are not too far from top four and with above clubs like Fiorentina, Bologna that are not experienced clubs in top positions. Roma will have good chances to at least surpass those clubs but they will have to compete with other clubs with more experience and better tradition like Lazio, Atalanta and Napoli.

The sack looks to come from Mourinho style with so many complaints rather than solely because of bad results recent weeks. It can be from strategic changes in Roma as 10 days ago, Tiago Pinto left them too.

From what I read about Daniele De Rossi's professional history as a coach, I didn't see him being a coach with a lot of experience in many teams and he didn't have any success with any big team.
Daniele is one of legendary players in Roma history but I am really doubtful about his success as a head coach for Roma. Roma used some ex-players like Conti, Montella as their head coaches but did not get any success. Daniele did not have experience as a head coach and he only got his role as an assistant coach for Mancini with Azurri in Euro 2020 and worked with Roma's youth team.

This decision looks to be not too good for Roma.

The return of K. De Bruyne has had a huge impact on Man City. Even Man City's attack line has become sharp again thanks to the presence of De Bruyne on the field. I think Man City is lucky to have this player. Because even though he was absent for quite a long time, now he is starting to contribute well again when he returns. The title is not impossible for Man City. The problem is just waiting for Liverpool to make a mistake.
So far Kevin made good impacts with his return for Manchester City and brings a lot of expectation that he will make more and bigger impacts in coming months. This is only expectation with an assumption that Kevin will not get injured in future. If his body is well, with his skills and talent, he will surely contribute big things for Manchester City not only in Premier League but also in Champions League.

Will he be well or get injured is a very big uncertainty for him and Manchester City. As a Premier League fan, I wish best for Kevin because with it, the title race between Manchester City and Liverpool will be more exciting.
453  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: January 16, 2024, 11:22:50 AM
Sportsbet.io has dropped its minimum withdrawal amount to 0.001 BTC due to the rise of BTC
This change to reduce minimal withdrawal amount through bitcoin will help Sportsbet.io's users a lot during this time with very expensive transaction fee on Bitcoin blockchain.

Pmalek, could you take a look at those casinos and add a new information column for Lightning Network withdrawal, please.

Like LN Withdrawal (Yes/ No).

Sim Swapping
To be honest i never knew it was possible to gain a person 2FA code without having access to the sim. I have always be paranoid with leaving my Mobile number online and this made me affirmed by decision. KYC is dangerous in the hands of reputable platforms but more so in individuals hands. Binance p2p merchant (some) usually ask for their customers number and this number can make one vulnerable to sim swapping attack.
There is an old topic about this security risk.

[BEWARE] Sim Port Attack
What is a Sim Port attack?
How to prevent SIM swapping?

When you activate 2FA for your accounts, don't use SMS code because your government can get access to those SMS message. Use open source 2FA softwares like Aegis.

Best 2FA applications to use. Open source, free, secure. Better than Google's
455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy Bitcoin is around the time of Bitcoin Halving: April 22, 2024 on: January 16, 2024, 11:10:34 AM
Not really, the price can go down prior to the halving and we have seen examples of this on the past, however if you want to buy bitcoin at the lowest price during a cycle then you need to do this a few months after the bear market has taken hold, as that is the moment when you can find bitcoin at its lowest price, as at the time many people are pessimistic about its future and speculators prefer to stay away from it, since they cannot obtain the profits they could before and prefer to move their money to other markets.
I don't know how price will move before the halving but I am quite sure that price will be up months after the halving. With this belief bases on history of Bitcoin cycles, I consider any dip before the halving will give us good prices to accumulate more bitcoin as our proactive preparation for Bitcoin bull run.

I can not say how deep Bitcoin corrections will be and any dip is good to buy. If you want to find some prices like perfect ones, you will miss dips. If you luckily see price dips to EMA 200 (daily) or EMA 21 (weekly), don't waste those opportunities to buy Bitcoin. Because when Bitcoin starts its bull run, price will mainly stay above those EMA lines.

I don't know about mixers in the signature but I am sure Howey ICO is allowed.

It is not a guaranteed profitable ICO as its text shows, it is only a big education ICO to teach newbies about risk of ICOs. It was posted by theymos and an educational resource years ago when ICOs appear everywhere in cryptocurrency.

There are too many strangers on social media, I even received a bunch of messages on my social media regarding crypto trading and creating an account, offering help for free but usually I ignored them especially if I didn't know who I was talking with.

Cases like this should always put in our mind that we should always be knowledgeable first in crypto before putting our funds.
You can ignore them, block them and even can report them if you believe they are scammers, impersonators, spreading phishing links.

On some social media platforms, turn off a feature for strangers to add you to their groups that usually are scam groups.

458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 15, 2024, 12:41:48 AM
Fiorentina were expected to win its game home against Udinese and they were lucky to get a draw thanks to the late penalty. Now they are 8 points behind of AC Milan which won against Roma with 3 goals.
Bologna was the other team to lose points in this round among teams sitting in the first half of the table.
Roma defeat could be explained by the fact that AC Milan were more powerful but the defeat of Bologna against a team that was sitting in the relegation zone isn't a good sign for them!
Roma got another defeat and they are now falling to the 9th position with 5 points less than Fiorentina at the fourth position. The ranking looks bad for Roma but the temporary gap with Fiorentina is not too big, 5 points. However, if we look at it in another side, there are 6 clubs from Fiorentina to Roma are fighting for only a fourth position, this is a very competitive race.

AC Milan with this winning against Roma, continue to maintain their gap with under clubs and continue their hope that they might be given chances by Inter Milan and Juventus to join Scudetto race again. It won't come soon with very excellent form of Inter Milan and Juventus.
459  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Whenever ORDI and SATS are pumping we get crazy miner transaction fees... why on: January 14, 2024, 06:07:42 AM
I don't think these tokens ORDI and SATS making transaction fees rise if you check the chart it is just a roller coaster of ups and downs but yesterday and a day ago as you can see it also pumped but the transaction fees are low around 36sat/vbyte.

There might be other reasons why transaction fees increase I think most nodes right now change their minimum relay fee to higher to help miners earn more incentives?
I think it is correlated like ORDI and SATS pump first to cause BRC20 token enthusiasts to be greed. When they can not control their greed, they will be ready to pay higher and more expensive transaction fee to mint new Inscriptions on Bitcoin blockchain.

I don't know those BRC20 token enthusiasts can always get profit from those Inscriptions by spending high on chain transaction fees. I never read any report to analyze cost and profit or loss of Inscription investors with correlation to transaction fee. Although, no report on it, I believe it won't be different from basics of any market. When many people are greed, there are consequently many people lose money.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 14, 2024, 12:37:16 AM
We have seen once again how important De Bruyne is for Manchester City.  Smiley  It is really awesome to see this player changing the way a match is going to. Despite recovering a really short time ago he just continues from where he left. This is what I like at De Bruyne. He is always ready to give his 100% into a match.

It wasn't an easy day for Manchester City anyway but at least De Bruyne won the match for them. Haaland should also be back very soon. I have no doubt he also missed playing together with De Bruyne as they have a great chemistry.  Grin
Because Kevin is a very smart and skillful player so it's easy for him to find a place in a match. He is a type of player who does not need to spend too much energy to run around and we can see a bigger example, Messi. We see how Argentina's coach and players tried to free Messi from many tasks and allowed him to run very little, just walk around and only run when Argentina needs him for attacking.

Kevin is more energetic than Messi but I see something similar on their skills and vision to avoid too much energy waste for physical fight.

Chelsea's overall performance is still very erratic. However, we have seen a slight improvement in Chelsea's performance in the last few Premier League matches. They have won the last three matches. And the team has won four out of the last five matches. The team has won a total of 9 matches this season. And they have 4 wins in last 5 matches.
They are now above Manchester United and Newcastle United so we can not ignore Chelsea improvement in Premier League. With 31 points, they are 9 points less than Arsenal at the fourth position and Arsenal has one match to play. It looks impossible for Chelsea to get in top four but they can try and at least can aim at a position to join Europa League or Conference League in a next season.

It is a little surprise to see Newcastle United began to fall down more on the table like this and a group stage of Champions League affected them a lot by focus too much on those matches and lost concentration for Premier League.
