443  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S17+ and T17+ on: February 03, 2020, 02:18:41 AM
Relisted t17+
960 jumped to 975

Relisted the s17 +

1565 to 1615 iirc

I do not understand that move but okay, maybe it is closer to shipping date than previous batch?
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 01, 2020, 07:03:36 AM
Does anyone have Antminer Z11 for sale? Or a couple of them?
445  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S17+ and T17+ on: February 01, 2020, 02:00:53 AM
Bitmain sent email, saying that they are closed until Feb 10 (for now, I assume) and that shipments would be delayed.

Additionally, they are sold out of S17+, T17+ and APW7's. Only thing still able to be ordered is S9k, S9SE and ANTBOX.

This might be coincidence but they sold out exactly at 00:00 GMT February 1st. New gear preorder incoming?  Wink Grin
446  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] Bitmain Antminer Z11 on: January 31, 2020, 06:45:35 PM
Looking to buy a few Z11 (used or unboxed). Preferably in Europe, but rest of the world is okay too as long as you can provide estimate for shipping to Serbia.

I am willing to use confirmed escrow on BTCtalk but I have my favourites.

Please send me offers in PM.

Payment possible in BTC or ETH.

S17 non pro Smiley

HOLY HELL!  Shocked Shocked

Air-cooled -30 or -35C if memory is correct.

Might be misleading, but it would attract some people. However, if you do put it, I'd put asterisk and explain conditions required for such speed.

Holy Moly, is that a S17 or T17 your getting over 100 TH thats awesome.

As for my problem, seems to be solved with that latest release, the auto-tuning is currently on round 4, everything looks good, id expect that to be tuning for a couple hours, however it does hash in-between rounds. Thank you very much

I'd bet it is S17+  Grin

I don't want to make a misleading title on this thread but...

Can I advertise it as 102+th/s firmware mod now  Grin

While we are at it take a look at the 80x club

https://asic.to/files/Photos/80%20club.jpg

I wouldn't mind, but if it is in emerged oil or in -20C, then it might be misleading.

i expected a lot with this new version with auto-tuing...and finally what a big deception...
impossible to get over 45/48 Ths with a T17, after, its overheating...the air is 7°, so very cold to the machine, but its not enough.
this firmware seems useless for overclocking with air cooling.

That probably means you lost silicon lottery... Otherwise, trying manually configuring Frequency and Voltage.

S17plus oc/v firmware release v1 is now available Limited Sales - Minimum order is 10 license cost is 1200 in btc or zec. This version may also become private so get yours while you can.

speeds of up to 85TH+ on as little as 3200watts

What about small miners (like me) which have up to 2-3 units. Why are you putting MOQ so high?
451  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: T17/S17 malfunction: cases, solutions, remedies, RMA history on: January 27, 2020, 02:38:01 PM
Ayyyyy

I still think you should fight the vat on a warranty item.

Also I am seeing a lot of bad temp sensors on the new units... Which sucks because if they don't work it won't mine...

I fought and fought last time, but they warned me that if I do not pay it, they will ship it back to sender. I lost about month or two fighting and explaining them that it was only sent to Bitmain for repair (I had proof). After that time, I gave up and decided to have as little communication as possible with them. They actually disgust me now. I am professional towards them, but when they become arrogant, I am even worse.

And yes, bad temperature sensors are becoming quite common problem here as well, I had it personally on two different S17 PRO and I had one friend who had it on all three boards...
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best litecoin miner? on: January 24, 2020, 09:57:10 PM
mining nowadays are less profitable than the effort we spend. imho..
but if do it mostly for securing the network, it's till be okay..

What are you talking about?
Mining is still hell of a profitable. Otherwise there wouldn't be so much new people, farms and gear popping up each year more and more.
You just have to be up to date or figure out how to get cheaper, green (clean) or free electricity.

Mining Litecoin might not be profitable that much. But mining Bitcoin is. As is mining some other Alt coins.

Home mining might not be the thing anymore, but hobby mining and professional mining still is and it will always be.
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best litecoin miner? on: January 24, 2020, 06:23:43 PM
Bitmain Antminer L3+ / Innosilicon A6+ / FusionSilicon X6 Miner

They are as far as I know only ASICs who are close to be profitable or are profitable (with cheap electricity - less than 0.06$ per kWh)
454  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S17+ and T17+ on: January 24, 2020, 05:01:07 PM
Has anyone with S17+ had problems with fans not ramping up? Mine are staying at 3k RMP range even when some chips hit 80c. While S17e is ramping up to 6k RMP even at 50c.

UPDATE:
Bitmain said that that is normal behavior. They, however, haven't commented on the reason behind it nor have they given me the temperature when should fans ramp up or if they even go above 3k RMP.

Thanks for your consultation!

the fan speed is normal above 500 we have doube checked with our technical department
Your fan speed is normal
455  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S17+ and T17+ on: January 23, 2020, 04:10:27 PM
Yes, same here..My S17+ around 3.8k - 4K maybe due to the hotter weather here and the T17e always at 5880 - 6000rpm
Idk how you even got that high, mine are sitting at 2.8k RMP even after 2 days of work after reboot. While S17e ramps up in first 5 minutes.
I understand that sometimes quiet is important but still... 2.8k RMP instead of 6k RMP at best product available, that seems odd to me. I'll contact Bitmain to check what is going on.

Tho, I had mine with December's firmware and I saw that they had this in their logs:
"1. Optimize and tune PID control fan strategy." so I thought I'd update firmware since it was released at 2020-01-07, however, it is the same firmware as original on my unit, so that did not help...

Yeah but my 2x 17e are crazy on power draw over 3300 watts.
In terms of meeting power specs  they are the worst units I purchased in all of 2019.

So to me the idea that the fans run high is not surprising.
To be fair I don't have any s17+ units to compare to.

Yeah, but 100% fan speed on 50c on S17e (and I had one T17e which was very similar, as far as I remember, it ran at 100% but it hit 70c really fast anyway) while S17+ is doing 45% fan speed on 80c, that is not right...

457  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Regarding Steamtyme's list of competitive hardware on: January 22, 2020, 06:27:16 PM
Here in the states most home miners don't have cheap power.

A s17 pro  at 53 th pulling 2250 watts.  uses 54 kwatts a day at 10 cents that is 5.40 in power cost.

It earns 7.66  the net = $2.26

Very marginal but doable if you need it to heat home 4 or 5 months a year.

We could say home mining is dead in usa.

Or not.  But with out much other choice for a home miner With 10 cent power a risky move at best I would say yeah it is dead.

Well, you are lucky if you get 10 cent power here in Serbia...

It's usually around 12 cents for homes and I use commercial power which is around 6 cents before additional costs.
So yeah... Home mining is gonna die faster here than in states...
458  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Regarding Steamtyme's list of competitive hardware on: January 22, 2020, 01:55:03 PM
I think that home mining has been dead for almost a year or even more. S9's have been the last of so called "smaller miners". I remember when I was making space for my "farm" to grow and I had to take separate fuse box and make ventilation holes in wall for all my miners, but it was just a hobby then. And I ran around 10 miners there without any issues. Now I am having trouble running more than 4 S17e/S17+ in that same place due to heat, power usage and overall amount of cables. And soon I will have to request another fuse box and search for a whole new storage hall so I can accommodate new units.

From home mining it turned to "big fishes" only really fast... And it is just going to get worse as years go by. I wouldn't be surprised if next miner had to use 3 cables instead of 2 like they do now.
Also, as far as I remember Bitmain used to have equipment for handful of different coins. Remember DR(D)/Z/E(G)/X/A/B/L models? They were all a bit cheaper than V/T/S models as far as I remember, and they could have easily been home miners. And what happened to them? They stopped producing them... For unknown reasons (but probably due to regulation or profit margin).

Home mining was much easier in past. Now it is harder and harder to find buyers even here in Serbia for such a big models (even tho they are more profitable than other smaller miners). And as time flies, all smaller miners will sell their equipment and farms are going to get bigger and bigger. Decentralization of Hash power is become more and more centralized day by day. And you can quote me on that.
