Hi.
I would like to know which pool do you recommend:
Bitminter or Slush Pool(bitcoin.cz) ??
Just because i didnt try minining on bitminter, just to know.
thanks
BitMinter is the only place I mine for BTCs. You can't go wrong with the good Doctor H. but there are no "live stats" like in bitcoin.cz for example? how do i know the % left for finding next block, how much i earn for a block found, and so on? edit: Ok sorry, found it. well mining right now, lets see how this pool works

Yep, definitely an airflow issue.
You'll want to get two of the delta I linked, and set them up as the EXHAUST fan, airflow going from the back of the miner to the front.
So... On the side of the S1 with the WIFI antenna connector, Delta 150cfm, facing outward (Exhausting) Back of the S1, the OEM fan, intaking (Airflow pointed to the heatsink.)
This will create a slight negative pressure wave, pulling more air over the heatsink.
Also, pull the blue wires from the connector of the OEMs fans, this will set them on full speed all the time.
If you're still that hot at stock clocks, either the room ambient temp is WAY too high, or the fans aren't able to cycle cold enough air over the heatsink to remove the heat.
Place a thermometer on the heatsink and verify the temps.
Oh, i thought it was like antminer S1 comes when you buy it, on the side of the wifi antenna connector, OEM fan pulling air inside, and back if you buy another one, another fan pulling air out. So you mean doing it the other way, back intakes air in pointed to the heatsink, and front fan(delta 150cfm), takes air out. Its not better than best fan(delta), intakes air in pointed to the heatsink maybe from behind, and front i use OEM fan?(i dont know, just asking). And you mean to cut blue wire so OEM fan works faster, right? thanks!

ooops houston, we´ve got a problem Changed frequency to 350 and fan still same speed(i think now even a little more, and temps are the same....):

well i said old miner, but was bought new 2 months ago. They have just single fan, but i want to buy another fan for both, maybe 4 fans like this one?: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553002the miner well yeah, is in an enclosed area, not the best area possible, i plan to change that too. sensor is ok, because fan also spins faster because of temperature. ok i will take it down to 350 mhz and see if temps improve. thx http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553002 No, not this one, because the CFM rating is too low. While it's flashy and pretty, a double deep 120mm rated at 100+ cfm is ideal. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835706032This is the fan type you should be looking at, 4k rpm, 110 cfm. and with just 2 will be fine? i mean, using stock fans of S1 and buying 2 Delta FFB1212EH-PWM. Or buying 4 Delta FFB1212EH-PWM ? They are not very cheap And if i just buy 2 Delta, should i place them front and placing S1 fan rear? thx edit: thanks philipma1957 but im from SPAIN

58c and 57c are pretty hot for the antminer s1. Make sure the heatsinks are torqued down and not dusted up. The reason the fan is spinning so rapidly is because the temp sensor is reporting a high temp, so it spins up to max to cool it. Take it down to 350mhz (180 gh/s) for a little bit and see if the temps improve.
Important questions. Is the miner in an enclosed area, or is airflow restricted in some way. Is the temperature the correct temperature, or is the temp sensor failing. If it really is that hot, do you have a way of directing more airflow onto the heatsinks Do you have the 2 fan setup, or single fan intaking.
Keep in mind not all antminers were created equal. 1200 caps were worse on heat and errors than the 1500 caps. Since the hot miner is the old miner, this makes sense, and you're going to want to direct more cooling onto this one.

Err... this is the Bitminter thread ... so I'm guessing a lot of folk (like me) are Bitminters ... Many have mined on and off various pools ... the truth is you 'should' earn the same from each .... once variance averages out - but only you can make that call after having mined on them and you get to make a decision. yeah thats why i ask, because im sure many here have mined on both, just to know what pple prefer. Ok i will mine then and decide. thx

Hi, i have 2 S1. The "old" one, bought 2 months ago has these values: and the new one, which is second hand, has these values(better ones): They have same frequency and configuration. Both overclocked to 200 GH/s. So why the value of one of the fans is 3720 with 58 and 57 temperatures, and the other one has 2700 with 50 and 49?. Of course new S1 has just been working for 2 hours, and the other one has been working for almost 2 months, but... fan value is strange.... or not? thanks

Do you recommend upgrading firmware? received 1st S1 2 months ago and another 1 today, and never upgrade firmware and works fine
Don't change something that already works. Ok, it was just because i read it reduced hardware errors. I get sometimes all xxxxxx and have to reboot S1. I have it overclocked to 200 GH/s but temperature is ok, and mines well so.... i dont know if those xxxxx affect or not

Hi, i received another S1 today, with wifi antenna. Mmmmm i think all S1 have assigned the same IP, is that correct? So, maybe if i connect it using wifi , new one will have same IP that the old S1, so... do i need to change the IP of new S1 i suppose, but how? i have to connect it using cable first and change IP that way??? thanks edit: ok, found how to change ip here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344970.0

0.17 BTC / day using what hardware? or did you buy hashing power and thats it?
so if its not profitable why all these guys have those mining rigs? xD
|
|
|
You guys have incredible mining rigs... WOW really......... You must earn a lot for beeing able to buy all those antminers....!!! And i have a question: Is it profitable to have all those antminers you have, considering power costs and that every time difficulty changes(and that happens i think every 2 weeks or so, right??), you earn less money?? For example, lets suppose i had i dont know, 10 S1 overclocked, that would be 10 x 200 = 2000 GH/s (2 TH/s). Ok, according to that, i could earn: but... in 6.7 days, i would just earn 1,121.96 $ vs 1,368.47$ right now / month. So, as you have a lot of hash power, more than 2 TH/s... is it profitable for you, to pay power costs for all your hardware, considering every 2 weeks difficulty changes and you earn less bitcoins??? Because the guy that has 50TH/s right now can earn 34,211,78 $ / month but in 6.7 days he will earn 28,039,87 $ / month so.... if every difficulty change = -6.000$.... i dont know if thats profitable

thx! 1 fan blows air in, and the other at the rear part throws air out, right?

and link for those orange / black fans also please? thx!

my small 430Ghash farm (rebuilt at weekend - will tidy cables this weekend) Would you be so kind as to post a link to the large fans? TIA. yeah link for those big black fans please. thx!

so, they release S2 and now they stop producing it and they are going to release S3?? what about those how payed 1800$ for S2?? omg :/ not me but just wondering.

and what about upgrades for S1? When are we going to know how much is that?
I really have a tough time wrapping my head around an upgrade kit for the S1. What parts of the S1 could be kept and used? It seems both hashing boards would be gone and the only thing left is the control board, one fan, and a couple frame pieces. What is the value of these remaining parts? IMO it's better just to dump the entire S1 on eBay than try to upgrade. I can't imagine the typical miner (household or commercial) attempting to solder new chips to the old boards. well if its a kit i dont think you have to solder, i dont know. And of course it depends of the prize. maybe its 400$ and i dont buy it xD

Anyways, imagine you have 1000 GH/s. You earn right now 1,317$ / month but in 9 days.... you will earn just 603$ so... is this worth it??? in just 9 days, just half of the earnings.... wow.... I think the issue is the starting difficulty listed on the chart is really old, but the "next diff estimated" is closer to the "Current" projected change. Update the info. its a website... http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculatorinfo should be updated so who wants to buy an antminer of 1000 GH/s when in 10 days you are going to earn half of what you are earning right now? and maybe in another 10 days half of the half. lol The Diffuculty Factor is in a user definable window. Current Diff is at 13.5G and if you look at the chart it is using 7G to start. lol true. sorry my bad
