441  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum not conected to servers HELP PLS HELP on: November 23, 2019, 04:10:22 AM
are you using a vpn perhaps on your router (since multiple pcs are affected)? try without the vpn

do you have a proxy configured under tools > network > proxy tab? try removing that.

if the above doesn't do it enable debug logging and share the log files:

So 1FbhSvzFQAYm2FTUjJeRB366N8ap3TgwWa is not the intended recipient's address? If it's not then the coins are gone. I suggest you think back on what you were doing when you sent this payment. Maybe consult your browser's history. Did you copy addresses from other sites like exchanges? Could be this address belongs to some other site you were surfing at the time.

No this was the only thing I had done.  Why do you think it is that the "previous output address" for this transaction is actually my receiving address?

Because that's where the coins were sent previously. Then you spent them in this transaction. If you don't get it then just ignore that.

What matters is where the coins were sent and apart from 0.003138 btc being sent back to your wallet as change the rest were sent to that 1Fb address.

And any word on remitano?

Never used remitano but i did search to find  Is Remitano.com SCAM? but did not find anything substantial. Their review is also satisfactory. I will definitely try it and share my personal experience here.

Thanks for the kind reply.

I am using remitano for the withdrawal of my money and I have not faced any issue from there. The actual thing is that you do not have to release the bitcoins unless you see the money came to your bank account. As the scammers often create fake documents to show you for you to release the bitcoins. I do not release unless I see the payment received in my bank account so no one can scam me.

did you have to upload copies of your ID to verify with remitano?
445  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Balance amount vs Max to spend on: November 18, 2019, 08:32:33 PM
if you don't want to pay trusted coin then restore your wallet from seed. begin via file > new/restore. when asked if you want to keep 2fa protection choose not to.

however note that the 0.001 is prepayment for many outgoing transactions at once. you can click on the blue shield icon in the bottom right to learn more about the trusted coin fees.
446  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum password problem after importing bip38 wallet on: November 17, 2019, 08:49:34 PM
Setting the password was only meant for verify transaction for the wallet that's imported on it and it's does not store on your seed or phrase. You can actually import the same seed/phrase on other wallets like Mycelium and your balance will load up.

this thread has nothing to do with seed phrases and the password does serve a useful function here. cross wallet compatibility of seeds is also not guaranteed. your answer is wrong on many counts.
447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wrong wallet address recovered with backup mnemonic on: November 17, 2019, 08:47:57 PM
hello,Recover the wallet with the backup mnemonic, it can be restored normally in the electrum, but the recovery is no money, nor the previous address.
how to solve this problem?
Request support!

Could you be more specific gow you got the mnemonic? Different wallets have different derivation parths and therefor different addresses.

I believe that mnemonics work the same way and should give same addresses no matter which wallet they were derived from?!?  Undecided I can understand that BIP39 and other types of protocol based addresses may/may not be fetched in some wallets which do not support such types at first place, but I do agree to your derivation paths statement there.
For example, I tried to use Electrum before and tried my hands on Mycelium, exported the seed from Electrum and used the same in Mycelium and imported, worked properly for me and gave me the correct address(es), although some were missing as it only fetched me the addresses that were used in Electrum.

mnemonics are not cross wallet compatible. electrum seeds don't work in mycelium although a mycelium seed may restore a wallet in electrum. however electrum only supports one type of address per deterministic wallet while mycelium supports all 3 types i.e. p2pkh, p2wpkh and p2wpkh-p2sh in the same wallet so restoring a mycelium seed in electrum will not reflect the true nature of your wallet.

bottom line is that you should stick to one wallet software.
448  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum password problem after importing bip38 wallet on: November 16, 2019, 07:24:08 PM
like nc50lc said just do the import again and this time don't set a password. you can begin via file > new/restore.

449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Send BTC twice and it didn't confirm fast enough, but it's gone on: November 15, 2019, 04:40:07 PM
when you pay someone with bitcoin it hits their wallet immediately. if you're paying a payment processor or merchant then they learn of the transaction immediately and that should satisfy any timer they have. you can't put a timer on confirmations because you can never predict those.

Browser/web version should be accessible from browser on blackberry device.

There's no web version. He must have used the android version.
451  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Can't install / uninstall Electrum. on: November 13, 2019, 06:11:03 PM
edit: the tilde is not optional. It's ~/.local/bin/electrum not /.local/bin/electrum. The tilde signifies that the files are located in your home directory. / OTOH is the root filesystem.
452  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum/HWW Verification on: November 12, 2019, 07:06:48 PM
This is quite an interesting question and I don't think anyone answered it (I also don't know the answer), the question is: what is used to encrypt the wallet file so only the hardware device has access to it.

A password derived from the xpub.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Master Public Key [HD Wallet] on: November 12, 2019, 04:14:13 PM
ok so the plugin he used takes an xpub and derives addresses from that. it's not a custodial merchant solution like bitpay's. the bitpay he's referring to here is the bitpay wallet app.

@fattails bitpay does not have a version of their app for blackberry. it only has an android, iOS and PC version. if you didn't write down the seed words for the wallet when creating it then you need to a) identify which device was used to create the wallet b) find the wallet files stored on that device. If the laptop was used for it and the laptop doesn't work then you need to remove its hard drive and hook it up via a usb to sata adapter to a desktop PC. Then you'll be able to access the wallet files on it and use the bitpay app to open them.

To quote gmaxwell "The mempool is not a toilet. It does not get clogged!"
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Master Public Key [HD Wallet] on: November 12, 2019, 11:30:19 AM
bitpay is the name of a bitcoin payment processor. they also have a wallet app but that's a different thing. are you talking about the payment processing company or the wallet app? i don't think the payment processing company uses your xpub (master public key). what is this plugin you mentioned above? you need to provide all these details because we don't have access to your setup and have no idea what you have going on there.
456  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum/HWW Verification on: November 11, 2019, 10:39:15 AM
If you're not being asked for a PIN then it's not asking for any signatures. It'll only ask for them when you go to spend your coins.

457  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Missing receiving address in my bitcoin wallet on: November 10, 2019, 10:06:06 AM
Abdussamad, yes, the address is the same.

That's the blockchain transaction link :  https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/0ddca07771e20587b00a1685702f1be13c2748832fa8c835040cdc2c3001ab33

When I check the address later, I saw that the payment left the address 2 sec after it's received: https://bitref.com/1P24xfd96qvMzLN81qxNhgPn2pm8Efa5AG

If I understand the blockchain correct, the payment is sent to address : 3Ksti3jfX7Vb6FUZW4mWZbazyFcAeyjkCy   and that address isn't my address. Actually, I didn't see the payment in my wallet at all.

You said previously that all the addresses in your electrum wallet begin with 1 yet this address begins with 3. Did you not notice this difference when pasting the address into your email? It's a pretty big difference.

edit: also could this address be from some website or exchange you were using at the time?
458  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Missing receiving address in my bitcoin wallet on: November 09, 2019, 07:57:40 AM
emails you sent are stored in the send folder of your email client/website. so do confirm that the address was the one where the coins were sent.
459  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Missing receiving address in my bitcoin wallet on: November 08, 2019, 12:23:55 AM
There was another user who had a similar problem and he discovered that it was due to remote desktop protocol (RDP) or teamviewer type programs. These let a remote computer modify his clipboard and so he was only affected when that RDP/teamviewer software was running and he copy pasted addresses. Do you use software like that?
460  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: My Electrum stopped working on Windows 10. Wallet is watch only. REWARD AVAIL! on: November 07, 2019, 10:16:16 AM
see here for wallet restoration related issues. if this doesn't help then do answer direwolf's questions about where the seeds came from. if they were originally generated by electrum then do tell us the version of electrum or, if you don't remember, the approximate date.

Note to others: when restoring from an electrum seed you don't need to tell it what wallet type you had unless it's a multisig wallet. The seed itself contains enough information about what wallet type you are using. The OP says his addresses begin with 1 so it's a single sig wallet and besides people who create multisig wallets are not the sort to forget they did that.
