4401  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Big News From China" is spreading false information, Exchangers are banned ! on: October 29, 2017, 07:43:18 AM
Huobi is banned in China. No exchange of BTC / CNY Legal Tender (bank wire, third party payment etc) is allowed to operate in China.

The current running exchanges e.g. okcoin, huobi, btcchina etc are all going to close down this month before the final limit date given by the government.

Those Chinese exchanges can register abroad e.g. in Hongkong, Singapore, Japan, Virgin Islands or whatever low tax lite regulation countries, and running with BTC / NON-CNY currency pair. the case in the post "Big News From China", huobi.com registered abroad with a new domain huobi.pro, running with btc / usd tether to bypass China gov's ban. it has nothing to do with China.

Will it work? may be, may be not. For how long is a question.
usd tether is just like btc-e code or Liberty Reserve waiting to be cracked down by the US Authority.
The whole fake foreign but real Chinese companies like huobi.pro or okcoin.com etc are all operating in China, maybe even by the same group of people in the same office and the same room. China gov surely can raid them over night.

US gov already showed us this with btc-e, which its even worse that they hunted the russian admin down in Greece. compare to this, China has prefect authority.

In conclusion, exchange of bitcoin or any crypto for fiat or reverse is banned in China. stop spreading false information.

Well it is still Huobi coming back which is one of the most popular exchanges there are in China. And them coming back in a foreign country is still good news at least in my opinion, even if it's not based in China anymore.

Though China seems serious about the whole closedown of exchanges and probably won't be changing their mind soon.

Plus, this news has not affected price much.
4402  Other / Meta / Re: This newbie just put 'Jr menber' under his/her name to look older on: October 29, 2017, 07:31:18 AM

Lol, this is more funny than it harmful. I really doubt that anyone is going to fall for this(but you never know).

Just goes to show how crazy the airdrops are right now, they're even trying these sorts of tactics to try to market their airdrop and pass it off as a legit project. Which sort of makes sense when everyone else is hiding under an alt as a junior member.

And yeah he didn't even bother to spell it right...
4403  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase upcoming Bitcoin Forks Alert! on: October 27, 2017, 08:51:47 PM
No. It is not safe to hold any sort of coin in any centralized bitcoin storage service in the midst of a fork, especially such a big fork like segwit2x. You are handing over rights to your coins and they can make whatever decision they want with your coins.

Instead, withdraw your coin to an address that you control. That way, you have full control.

Don't forget that Coinbase has not even distributed BCC coins yet.
4404  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Freewallet.org is a scam on: October 27, 2017, 08:47:38 PM
Well if it's true that you sent the wrong ERC20(aka unsupported) tokens to their addresses then there is really nothing you can do. They've upheld their end of the deal but you didn't read their supported tokens properly.

However if it is one of the supported ERC20 tokens, then it's unacceptable.

Still, it's probably too early to call them a "scam". Hopefully everything gets resolved, though.
4405  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Yobit INVESTBOX on: October 27, 2017, 08:35:27 PM
I have checked this investbox I think it is good type of investment for profits when compares to other hyip sites giving daily 1% interest and scamming people.

Yobit eventually is goig to scam people too.

This sort of interest, 0.2% a day on a hot market that is already appreciating day by day is just going to be unsustainable for the long term. In the end, the whole scheme will collapse and investors will lose their money.

If you want to invest, there are plenty of better options out there like investing in altcoins.
4406  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB $25,000 AUD to purchase bitcoin on: October 26, 2017, 09:49:24 AM
Use localbitcoins. Dealing here without escrow is literally asking for suicide(unless you are dealing with a very trusted person, of course). You don't even need any identification for local trades and cash deposit trades, but for bank transfer you may require ID.

I get all my bitcoins there and i'm in AU. Never had a problem, even when there was an issue that needed to be resolved.

If you can do cash deposit/cardless cash i can get you coins, but probably not $25k at once. And my rates aren't going to be better than LBC probably.
4407  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin throwdown: Analysts spar on whether the cryptocurrency is a good deal or on: October 26, 2017, 09:11:21 AM
Well, if he is shorting bitcoin derivatives then obviously he is going to say bad things about bitcoin. In hopes of driving bitcoin prices down and making a profit for himself. This should be obvious to anyone with the most remote knowledge of bitcoin.

Same with the guy who is saying $25k bitcoin is round the corner. He has stakes in btc himself, probably. Thing is make your decisions yourself, don't let others make them for you or let them influence you easily.

Personally right now BTC isn't the best buy there could be. The entry point is a bit too high, though it does have potential to go to $7k or even $8-10k this year.
4408  Economy / Lending / Re: [HERO MEMBER - NO COLLATERAL] Want $160 Loan - Will Give $20 Interest on: October 26, 2017, 09:07:14 AM
If you can actually give your account as collateral then i'd happily fill this loan. It's not that i don't trust you, it's just that i've seen a lot of people drag their no collateral loans on and on and repay way later than promised.

Also, this is going to be fixed in fiat right? Both loan + repayment, i mean.

If the other person that was willing to fill it for you hasn't yet filled it, i'm open to discussion.
4409  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin unstoppable now on: October 24, 2017, 08:45:14 AM
Just keep a cool head in these scenarios.

Bitcoin hasdefinitely matured a lot, there aren't that many panic sellers anymore even when the market crashed by $500 but that doesn't mean that bitcoin is going to keep going up. I see a correction coming very soon since it has gone up so much in such a short period of time.

Just be careful, and don't be too surprised if price corrects down to the $4000s.
4410  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any good encrypted currency payment service(API) recommended ? on: October 24, 2017, 07:03:08 AM
Go with coinpayments or coinify.

Coinbase works fine too much in my opinion their lack of support is rather disturbing and i would not risk my money with them at all when you have these potentially better alternatives. Yes they cost some money, but it's worth it in my opinion.

Plus, both options have way more than just ETH, BTC and LTC.
4411  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC to 7k before fork? on: October 14, 2017, 12:33:02 AM
Do you think we can go beyond 7k before hardfork? Smiley

By the looks of it we have some pretty hard resistance at the $6k level that is driving price down a bit at the moment, but if everything goes well and the lead up to the hard fork does not lead to panic then $7k is possible.

After the hard fork i'd expect the price to settle a bit and potentially drop down to around $4k, however.

Bull markets can't last forever and we need breaks in between pumps.
4412  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Start Mining From Your Browser - And Get Paid Via Faucethub on: October 14, 2017, 12:31:39 AM
Well it's a good idea, are you guys mining XMR with Coinhive just like freebitco.in?

Using this with a micropayments processor definitely makes sense imo. But i think that instead of using faucethub, perhaps try coinbase/xapo? They actually have more uses in terms of where you can spend it off-chain, without fees.

This shouldn't be something that can be relied on as an income, just for fun.
4413  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: 7day trials at10,000.00 GH/s ?! HELP on: October 14, 2017, 12:25:55 AM
https://www.terabox.me/faq
Price is 0.00002 / GH

They are also giving trials of 7days with 10,000.00 GH/s

Has anyone used them already ? How is it like I'm Keen to try but what do u guys recommend for a 19 Y.O kid ? Which doesn't has much fund

Does it make sense for someone to give away such high amounts of hashing power for 7 days when they can make a shit ton of bitcoin themselves with the hashpower(which they don't even have)? And the fact that you can register with multiple accounts, and they'll still give you the bonus on every single account is extremely suspicious.

Everything on their site screams scam. If they don't have proof of mining, then they are not legit.
4414  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The best mixer for BTC? on: October 12, 2017, 09:38:58 AM
What's the best mixer to anonymise some coins?
i.e. in terms of reliability and cost.

Thanks, K

Right now after bimixer has shut down, definitely chipmixer.

I would suggest taking a look at their site in my signature. They have site on Tor as well, if you want extra anonymity(since clearnet is not perfectly anonymous). They have great support, great PR people, and lots of advertising. They've probably processed BTCs in the hundreds if not in the thousands already.

Check them out Smiley
4415  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalBitcoins Payment NOT recieved on: October 12, 2017, 09:31:33 AM
I recently sold about 0.13 bitcoins (about 500 EUR) but the guy who bought it said that he would complete the payment in 2 hours, after he said that he confirmed the payment without doing it.
Now I don't know if release or not the Bitcoins, I didn't recieved nothing in my Visa card, but I'm still waiting.
What will happen if I don't release the bitcoins?

Please help me, thanks.

This is a fairly common occurance and it's really nothing to worry about. This is exactly why you use localbitcoins instead of dealing with the person that you're trading with directly, since you're protected by their escrow.

Ask them why they marked payment complete, even though they haven't paid.

Then, proceed to dispute the transaction if he does not respond. Do not release the coins.
4416  Economy / Speculation / Re: $5000 is already breached on: October 12, 2017, 09:17:23 AM
I just checked Bitfinex and its currently trading above $5000 now (currently $5100). Hope this is sustainable though. Expect a lot of press release later above this new milestone that has been reach.  Grin Grin Grin

Yep, we are actually nearing $5200 before but now we seem to be adjusting a little.

Right now we can see the floor being around $5100, the price could potentially correct to less than that but i don't think that it is likely, and even if it does happen then minimum would be around $5000 per coin in my opinion for this month.

This month we should see price steadily climb just like August. If the fork is successful, 10k wouldn't be impsosible.
4417  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Start Mining From Your Browser - And Get Paid Via Faucethub on: October 12, 2017, 09:05:52 AM
Seems like a lot of services are doing this - i'm not against this, since the user should always know the risks and rewards of doing this, but clearly this is not going to be a sustainable source of income for anyone.

Unless you have close to zero cost electricity then you shouldn't be attempting this. If you do, then you should probably just join a pool instead of doing browser mining.

Getting paid through a micropayments processor would be interesting, however.
4418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Etherdelta is a good choice? on: October 12, 2017, 08:42:13 AM
Decentralized market look like a good chance to make profit, etherdelta is one of most popular but look like all token on this market are full of speculation...... What you think about? Solid project like Centra are good investement for medium time or is too risky?

They have listings and markets for essentially every single token on the ethereum network which has not yet made it to other big public exchanges e.g. poloniex/bittrex. So it's a good way to grab coins just after the ICO.

It's a good exchange with lots of pairs, i personally have not used them much but they are not bad frankly.

However, as soon as a coin gets listed on a big exchange, expect volume on etherdelta to go down.
4419  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: I want send 0.005 BTC from xapo to another wallet. on: October 06, 2017, 03:23:14 AM
Hi there,

I received 0.005 BTC in mi Xapo account after this transaction.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2238084.0

But i did not know that there are now VERY EXPENSIVE fees for sending money in xapo (last time i use it it was free)

Since i need the 0.005 BTC to pay for a service, i can not pay those fees. Is there any workaround?

Thanks.

One way would be to transfer the bitcoins off chain to another xapo user that uses xapo a lot, and then get them to transfer the coins on-chain to your address. The guy will probably not do this without a fee however, since he still needs to pay tx fees.

Otherwise, really no workarounds unless you can somehow sell the btc from xapo directly.

Do you need 0.005 BTC exactly to pay for your stuff?
4420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best way to withdraw ETH to bank via ACH or Wire? on: October 06, 2017, 12:01:29 AM
Hey guys,
I want to withdraw my ETH via ACH or wiretransfer after Coinbase closed my account. What other service can I use to do this? Thanks!

You mean convert ETH into USD and then get it transferred to your bank account, right?

In that case, the most convenient way is going to be using an exchange to first convert ETH into BTC, and then using localbitcoins to find an offer on your coin. The whole process is simple and secure, and you're protected by the inbuilt escrow.

But to get the best rates, you should use something like Kraken or Bitstamp.
