4441  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation & Supply Chain Issues-How bad is it going to get?! on: October 28, 2021, 03:47:55 AM
In my case I have not noticed a lack of products that I usually use, but I have noticed a rise in prices, mainly in electricity and gasoline, not so much in food, but little by little it is noticeable. Although I was recently promoted at work and I have had a considerable payraise, so between that, Bitcoin and other investments I think I will be able to cope well with inflation.

I would like to remind everybody that this is a direct consequence of political decisions; it is not like an earthquake or a storm, that you can do nothing to avoid it.

4442  Economy / Reputation / Re: 1xBit campaign is starting again. on: October 27, 2021, 01:58:37 PM
I've tagged atm only those who are wearing the signature. Will tag the missing ones if they wear it in the future.
Number 4 is missing the profile number:
Thanks for your quick action, newlifebtc profile number has been updated. but sadly he already deleted signatures on his profile including Japones and D-low

If anyone else deletes the signature in a short period of time I will change the feedback from negative to neutral. I don't think it is necessary to be angry with someone who makes a mistake, realizes it and corrects the action quickly.

Number 4 is missing the profile number:

4. Bitcointalk name: Newlifebtc
Bitcointalk URl: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile
Rank: member

Anyway, I suppose more people will tag them.
4444  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-10-26] Mastercard and Bakkt Partner to Offer Innovative Crypto and Loyalty on: October 27, 2021, 08:32:47 AM
Well, if that's all the case, then this brings very little. No one is going to sell bitcoin to fiat on an exchange, so they can send their fiat to Mastercard/Bakkt to buy bitcoin on their platform, so the bitcoin can be sold and converted in to fiat at the point of sale with a mastercard bitcoin card or similar. Fees on top of fees on top of fees.

It would make more sense for someone to buy Bitcoin at Baakt and then spend it with Mastercard, although for us it is not a good option. I imagine this is not intended for the average forum user, but for a user who knows little about cryptocurrencies, so buys them at the click of a button from their financial institution, such as Revolut. I won't use it but I guess people who get into this world might use it.

Also, since this is being rolled out in the US, I would like to see Mastercard put some effort in to helping to address our ridiculous tax laws, where buying a cup of coffee with bitcoin is a taxable event. Otherwise, their whole system remains pretty much impossible to use legally.

That would be ideal, and I created a thread about it a while ago. The current laws consider Bitcoin something similar to stock shares, and not as a currency. To consider it a currency would be at least in part to recognize the defeat of fiat currency as legal tender in the country, and to waive the taxation of capital gains.

4445  Other / Meta / Re: Can I reward extra credit ''Free Spin'' to my signature campaign participants? on: October 27, 2021, 08:15:38 AM
who will make more post will get xx spin per post.
May I suggest to give the bonus to the best posters instead? Quality over quantity Smiley

I second the motion, although ultimately it's up to sujonali1819, obviously. As a previous participant of a campaign that paid little, especially at low tiers and one that pays quite well, with bonuses for the best posters, I can attest that being paid well, and having the possibility of bonuses, motivates you to write better. It's not that you go from being a shitposter to an exceptional poster, but it encourages you to put some extra energy into what you write.

4446  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think Lightlord behavior is acceptable? on: October 27, 2021, 08:05:42 AM
But this time the bounty manager wrote that he could not get his own payment.

Source for that? I don't know if you are not expressing yourself well.

I have looked at the campaign threads and Brainboss's latest posts but have seen nothing. He's waiting for funds in escrow, that's for sure, but I haven't seen anything about Lightlord not paying him.
4447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your strategy to carry on making money when Bitcoin turns bearish on: October 27, 2021, 06:25:05 AM
My strategy is to continue to accumulate. DCA. You can never know for sure when the bear market is going to come, and Bitcoin is profitable enough that you don't have to go crystal ball gazing to see when you get it right.

If this cycle repeats past cycles, I may spend a little more Bitcoin at the peak, and if next year or the following years there is a deep dip, I may buy more than usual, but in general I will buy the same amount periodically. Rise rinse repeat.

4448  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin metrics “INSANELY BULLISH”! Can the King go to 200K or more this cycle? on: October 27, 2021, 05:48:23 AM
200k is is attainable if you do ask me which is way more better than to those people who had been crying out for million a coin
which is already too unrealistic.

Probably attainable, the question is how likely it is. You never know with Bitcoin, and it looks like the best is yet to come this year but $200k I see as too bullish. Maybe if the bull run stretches well into 2022, as some predictions point to, we will hit that figure, but if we peak in December I doubt it will be as high as $200k.
4449  Economy / Economics / Re: Would crypto gain full intrinsic value? on: October 27, 2021, 05:44:53 AM
The solution is simply just time.

I think so. What we don't know is how long. I think things are going to continue to be measured in dollars or euros for a long time, and the scenario where the goods and services you can purchase become measured in Bitcoin and the other assets/currencies only in comparison to Bitcoin has a long time to go.

4451  Economy / Gambling / Re: There isn’t a poker room you could win at ? on: October 26, 2021, 11:25:07 AM
OP is has some mind problems, just check out his posting history.

No need to give him any advise, he has other problems.  Grin

I have him on ignore, but I've read the OP because I wasn't logged in at that moment.

Assuming what you say makes sense, the explanation I see is as follows:

1) He is referring to varieties of poker such as video poker where you play against the house, not other players, and they are EV-.  Here the only advice is not to play those varieties.

2) He is referring to a high rake, as noted, which would surprise me, and would imply that he is a rakeback player or mediocre winner and the rake makes him lose. As it has been said he can go to another casino that has less rake. Or maybe move down levels to at a level that is easily beatable for him, and where the rake is not likely to be as high as his earnings (this is assuming that where he plays there are lower levels and that the rake does not go up).
4452  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think Lightlord behavior is acceptable? on: October 26, 2021, 07:18:21 AM
So at this point I'm inclined to revise my rating from negative to a different negative but I'll ponder this for a little while.

I believe that the most likely scenario is that in the coming months there will be no problems with withdrawals or signature campaign payments.

I don't know if it is worth creating a flag if there are no more problems at the moment, but you have much more experience than me in these matters.

Although I also think that what has happened is not from someone deserving of a good reputation. Let's look at a case:

Since 12th August I try to withdraw some DOGE, since 14th August I have a ticket pending asking for the DOGE wallet to be refilled.

It's now exactly 1 week since I am waiting for my withdrawal. My personal feelings start to shift from annoyance to fear of loss. Especially since I am trying to withdraw only a smaller part of my investment in bitvest.

@psycodad: Any updates with your withdrawal or a reply to your email/pm/anything related to your withdrawal issue?
No I haven't been able to withdraw since around my last post, not even dust amounts, it's now pretty exactly 2 weeks on the hour.
It's emontionally very challenging and only the reassuring chat with one of their mods (Badger) kept me from going totally insane yet as the amount owed by bitvest.io is a substantial one to me.

Today I received another smaller part of my investment (the LTC part, in full), though my DOGE wd is still pending since 12th August, even so I have tipped (bribed) one of their mods with 658 DOGE of change to speed things up slightly. What they paid out in these last 18days is <30% of my total investment that I want to withdraw.

They have time until end of month to honor my still pending DOGE withdrawal request, I have made them aware of that via the tipped mod as I still have no means to communicate with the owners/people with the moneys directly.

This has brought major distress into my life and my marriage,
but I am ready to let it go biting my tongue with a put on smile and with a simple, short post here confirming that I received everything, if they actually process my DOGE withdrawal within the next 48 hrs.

I am very relieved to report that I have now received all pending withdrawals after 19days.
...
As said, no mud-throwing around from me, but I can still safely answer that I'll never deposit to bitvest.io again.

Rereading this, I see again that they react to pressure. When psycodad gives them until the end of the month, I understand that otherwise he would have created a trust flag or something, then they pay him.
4453  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think Lightlord behavior is acceptable? on: October 26, 2021, 03:43:46 AM
I would like to know, especially those of you who left negative feedback to Lightlord and have not changed it, what you think about whether and when to change the feedback to neutral. I have seen that yahoo62278 has changed it to neutral. suchmoon said about 10 weeks seeing that the payments were working fine.

I don't know if any of you plan to leave it negative forever?

In my case I'm open to changing it, but I'm in no hurry.

4454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China is thinking about unbanning bitcoin mining after price rise on: October 26, 2021, 03:39:11 AM
Fuck them in the ass. Assuming the news is true, I don't know if any of the miners who left there are getting the urge to go back. The energy there is cheaper, but there is such a thing as legal certainty, and going back to China to mine is playing roulette. You never know if the authoritarian government there is going to prohibit you from mining again. I would not go back.
4455  Other / Meta / Re: About Serious Discussion on: October 25, 2021, 08:35:02 AM
I just got a report marked as bad on a thread that had nothing to do with bitcoin, and was really not a serious thing in my oppinion,

Did you report it for low value or did you report it to be moved to another section?

It's been well over a year since I visited SD or IT.  Has it gotten any better in either section?  Are threads like the one you quoted common, or is that just an outlier in terms of quality?

AFAIK Those boards were Theymos' idea, and they don't seem to have worked very well (unlike the merit system, which in my opinion is quite good).

There is a mishmash of topics, some more interesting than others but with no common theme and little traffic.
4456  Other / Meta / Re: Reports Bad&Unhandled on: October 25, 2021, 05:59:20 AM
I don't have any reports marked as bad so far, but that's not so much because I'm worried about my accuracy when reporting as because I'm quite lenient. My general rule is that if I have to think twice, whether to report or not, I don't report. As for the moderators I think they generally do a good job and clean up the forum a lot, it is inevitable that there are cases where people do not agree if their reports are not acted upon or are marked as bad, but that these cases might be questionable should not overshadow the good work they do.

4457  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market Sentiment on: October 25, 2021, 03:45:20 AM
Market sentiment based on social media it's not going to do much good with respect to Bitcoin, as the price is being driven up mainly by institutional demand, as can be seen in google trends. I believe retail FOMO will be unleashed at $100k and above, and there we can get into lucubration whether the sentiments seen on social media have any influence or not.
4458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Going public saying you own Bitcoin is not safe anymore on: October 25, 2021, 03:39:20 AM
I agree with previous answers that it is not safe to the same extent that it is not safe to say that you have money or other types of financial assets, such as gold, etc. Surely years ago, when Bitcoin was more unknown and worth less, one could say one owned Bitcoin without people noticing as much and therefore if attracting the attention of criminals. But today, at $60k in price, on the way to $100k, it is very dangerous. With the difference also that the thief needs you to get them: if you have gold, the thief will take it if he finds it in your house, but your Bitcoin, the thief will need you to actively transfer it to him, unless he finds your seeds. And if you happen to have it in a multisig wallet and you can't transfer it even if you want to, I don't think he will react kindly.

4459  Other / Off-topic / Re: YouTube channels hacked and rebranded for live-streaming crypto scams on: October 25, 2021, 03:30:24 AM
I saw for the second time the other day one where Saylor appeared and they promised a giveaway where in order to get a certain amount of Bitcoin, you had to send Bitcoin first to a certain address. I guess, as with all scams, they just need a small percentage of people to fall for it to be profitable.
4460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will bring the chaos what the world need. on: October 24, 2021, 01:13:46 PM
It is very well what you say but it seems to me that more than describing what is going to happen (will bring the chaos) you are expressing a feeling. You probably have more knowledge than in 2017 but mainly what you express are feelings.

If your hunch is right, I hope you mean that bitcoin is going to bring orderly chaos.
