461  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] Undervolt antminer s1 [1.19W/GH at the wall] on: May 11, 2014, 02:05:34 AM
All of my Ants are operating at 300Mhz and using about 200-220W at the wall.  I like only needing one CX750M for two ants!
462  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What are the limits of ASIC Mining? on: May 11, 2014, 01:59:25 AM
There will eventually come a time when an ASIC (miner) cannot be manufactured for less than it should sell for to be profitable (for the buyer). At this time hardware makers will

stop selling hardware.  They might still make miners, but will probably mine with inventory themselves at a location that has cheap or free power.  Eventually only people with

free power will still mine for profit, and that profit will be very slim. Tongue

Check the temps, does one blade show 127C?.  I received an S1 that did that and it turned out to be a bad temp sensor.  The sensor is located right in the middle of the blade.

It is an 8-pin device that has "LM75" on top.  After I replaced the sensor, the fan(s) behaved normally.

Hope this helps! Smiley
464  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Errors on an Antminer S1 board - Troubleshooting suggestions? on: May 10, 2014, 03:33:20 AM
It could be heat related.  What temps is that unit showing.  Also, if you have a multimeter, take it with you and check the 12V input to that blade.

Usually, deactivated chips means high temps or low voltage.

To anyone, thanks in advance.  Is there a way NOT to take Dogecoin but to accept Litecoin.  Really do not want to be paid in Dogecoin.

I just enabled local payments and now I HAVE to accept Dogecoin.

Can I purchase the 17board kit from your website and pay you with bitcoin?

Thanks!

Edit: Just purchased a 17 board kit from http://minersource.net/

Hope to receive it soon!

I am logged into my account and see nothing pertaining to providers.  All of the tabs are for renters.  I need to change some settings with one of my rigs but cannot access them.

I logged in using my E-mail.  Halp! Huh

Log out and log back in Cheesy

I tried this.  Still only have renter tabs/info.

Here are the tabs I see:  my rigs/pools/bulk management/btc/ltc/doge/orders/history/2fa/password/referrals

?

The top menu has a provider button for you now.

There is a menu above the logo and a menu below.

Found it! Shocked  Thanks!

470  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: An Attempt to create a more complete freq value chart for the ant miner chip. on: May 08, 2014, 02:06:02 AM
Hi guys, what values should I use so I can safely power 2 ants with a 750W PSU? I have so many PSUs I don't want to buy more Cheesy

Could I do something like 160 GH for 250W?

Sounds about right.  I have two Ants per CX750M and run mine at 300Mhz.  I also undervolt to about .90-.95V.  This results in about 220W of power draw per Ant.  They hash

at about 153Gh.  I would imagine 325Mhz would result in close to what you want, power wise.  I calculate 8x325=2600Mhs x 64 =166400Mhs, so 166Gh and about 250W.

I run mine at 300Mhz because it seems like the best tradeoff between power use and hashrate.  The temps went down quite a bit too Vs. stock speeds.

Anyone else having trouble with LRP connecting to eligius?  I have it set to port 12234 but have recently been getting messages indicating it can't connect.

Is LRP due for an update?

Anyone?  Also port 12234 on this pool no longer works.  Port 3334, constant disconnect/reconnect.

Edit: LRP working now.

Any idea what the issue was?

Still not working.  Maybe a problem with Eligius.  My ants are disabled for now.

Does your username have special symbols?

It has an underscore. But I can try a username without one.
472  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: May 05, 2014, 04:34:14 AM
Obviously S1 will become obsolete this year. I have 27 in a custom shed built. Ambient temperature with the ac fluctuates between 70-85F. The S1's themselves run from 45-59c depending on how hot it is outside. Those numbers should be okay for the short life span these Ants are expected to have yes?

Just downclock.  I run units @300Mhz and .90V.  They pull about 200W at the wall connected to a Corsair CX750M (80 bronze).  They hash at 151Gh.

I used to overclock, but the gains just didn't seem worth all the extra power supplies/heat/instability/noise/power use. Smiley

Where are you located? Would you be willing to use escrow?  Would you sell just two of them to one person?

Thanks!

Is port 12234 no longer available?  I have been using it for Leaserig.net for some time and last night I could no longer connect to it.  Now port 3334

works for leaserig.  Any thoughts?

Tempting... but still not a good deal. Sorry Bitmain.

Take a look at my spreadsheet, play with the editable cells and see for yourself.

Unless the S1's are recyclable in 2015?...

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1giwtVGpz19QOZvGuCWsHgyPfpOM4Zh8-Rgk0jvAHdGM/edit?usp=sharing

Average past difficulty jumps: 23% every 12 days.
Difficulty estimation: jumps 15% every 12 days.  But you can change that also in second sheet.

Comments are welcome. I'm always looking to improve everything.  Smiley

Looks good.  Kinda like the numbers I put together.  I lease some of my ants out which helps close the gap.  Sometimes you can mine alts and sell at

really good returns vs. Bitcoin. Smiley

Underclocking to reduce power usage helps too.
