I'm not entirely happy with LR communication

Well yes. That is 100% my point.
Quote
It was e-mailed. Are you seriously blaming gmail's false positive on Leaserig?

That's spam. Just because it happens to be legitimate, it still appears to be spam Cool

Yes, it's a false positive, but, it's really easy to see WHY it's a false positive:

http://imgur.com/8gpO4Fv

See all those ones that came through WITHOUT being marked as spam? Let's investigate why:

In the one marked as spam:
Code:
Received-SPF: softfail (google.com: domain of transitioning admin@leaserig.net does not designate 74.125.82.195 as permitted sender) client-ip=74.125.82.195;
Authentication-Results: mx.google.com;
spf=softfail (google.com: domain of transitioning admin@leaserig.net does not designate 74.125.82.195 as permitted sender) smtp.mail=admin@leaserig.net

Well. That's easy. The leaserig.net domain has SPF, and when the email was sent out, it was sent out from a non-approved sender.  So, actually, it's not a false positive at all.

The normal emails come via sendgrid.me, which has never been marked as spam.

Lets not get into the technical issues here - I don't care why it was marked as spam, because I'm pretty flexible. I'm on IRC, I browse the forums, and I - eventually - figure out what's going on.

It's just that Mav needs to stop blaming 'lack of communication' on technical issues.  Here's three things I can think of straight away to fix this:

1.  On the 'providers' page, have a summary of the last three announcements
2.  Every time a rig is hired, or an email is sent out for any reason, put any planned outages in there
3.  Send out an email for every change.

Even if -two- don't work, for whatever reason, the other one will, and then everyone will know what's going on.

Except that it wouldn't have helped you, because provider/customer merger was announced in three or four different ways A MONTH ago and you still missed it. Why would EVERYONE need to have provider page cluttered with old announcements because you can't be bothered to check the support site or your spam folder at least once a month.

This week at LeaseRig.net

The Captcha Is Gone!

What's Coming up?
As we continue to revamp the sites core legacy code we keep our customers and providers in mind.  On-site feedback is being revamped after passing some initial testing and should be released into beta soon.  Statistics collection is being tackled by another end and we hope to offer some extended stats options to go along with our new long term leasing system.  Currently support is handling long term leases of up to 1 year using the LeaseRig.net platform!

Our last site update: May 7 2014:
  • Fixed the rigtest system to work with cgminer 3.4.2
  • Fixed the stats collection for a wider array of miner compatibility including cgminer 3.4.2
  • Increased available site resources.
  • Corrected third party disk queue bug.
  • Implimented revamped pool system.
  • Prettier Maintenance Mode, Internal Error, 404 Error pages
  • About Us Page
  • News page (Hey You Found It!)
  • Misc Bug and Security Fixes.
  • Accessibility fixes.

Pool Management May 7 2014:
The new pool manager framework is out.  LeaseRig.net doesn't limit you to 2 pools or 5 pools per miner *just some competition bashing sorry*  The pool manager will be implemented for providers as well as customers and should allow better cross device and cross browser pool support.  The new pool system will also allow us to verify customers pools are compatible with leased miners before allowing a rental to begin!  This benefits everyone involved in a rental.  We are working on a pool testing system which will verify compatibility between a rented miner and the pool added to take the manual verifications out of the equation completely.

Site maintenance May 6 2014:
We sincerely apologize for the lengthy maintenance and slowness of LeaseRig.net on Tuesday.  The incident was related to a third party disk queuing issue.  The affected portion of the site was isolated and a planned change was moved ahead in schedule in order to fix this problem.  All leases were honored and all transactions and payments went through.  Some hourly payments were delayed.

New Error and Not-Found pages May 5 2014:
Don't be worried if you hit the new error or newfound pages.  They are just to give a friendlier look to the site instead of the terrible massive code printouts and blank browser errors.

CGMiner New release - version 4.3.2, 2nd May 2014:
There has been much talk by competitors and leasers about the new cgminer 4.3.2 ckolivas released last week.   We want to thank our beta testers Boozer and midnightcruze for volunteering their equipment and time to help us implement compatibility with the newest version. The developer of CGMiner implemented a patch to disallow pools you are mining to, from changing your miners pools.  This has kicked a lot of competing services off-line for providers using updated miners (Upgraded ANT miners).  LeaseRig.net is fully compatible with this new version and we will continue to follow and fix compatibility with future versions instead of asking you to downgrade.

That's incorrect. I looked at the provider page numerous times. I would have seen it there.

Why would EVERYONE need to have provider page cluttered with old announcements because you can't be bothered to check the support site or your spam folder at least once a month.

I was looking at the main site. I didn't have any support issues. Why would I need to go to the support site?

And with my spam folder - If I checked it once a month, I would have to go back 32 pages of spam to find the leaserig announcement (I counted) today. Let's say.. 20 pages from when it happened.

I don't know why you're getting so defensive. All I'm doing is offering suggestions to stop this happening again. We've already established that it's happened, and for various reasons, people didn't know about it. Let's make sure it doesn't happen again.

The News tab is a good start!

I am logged into my account and see nothing pertaining to providers.  All of the tabs are for renters.  I need to change some settings with one of my rigs but cannot access them.

The Captcha Is Gone!

Thanks for that! Those alpha Captchas were hard.

I see that many former Scrypt providers have migrated to X11. Is it worth the switch?

There are occassional spikes in demand, making it more profitable than Scrypt. I switched mainly because of cooling issues. X11 on R9 GPUs runs at 50-60% of the power consumption of Scrypt mining. That makes a huge difference in cooling requirements, and depending on your electricity costs it might be the difference between profit and loss.

I just noticed, I had some pools preconfigured and can use them in rigs pool management page, but they're not shown in My account -> pools page. Only new ones which I configured now are there. Am I stuck with those old pools forever? Cheesy

When you withdraw from the local wallet, is the transaction fee taken from the amount requested or the account balance

IE If I ask to withdaw BTC1 do I receive BTC1 or BTC0.9999 ?

The Tx fee is taken from the withdraw amount.  So you receive .9999 if thats the amount after the Tx fee.

I like the news page. Even though I've always seemed to have been "lucky" I guess for noticing every announcement given by the forum, bold banners, emails,...  I noticed the news page immediately after logging in this morning and I think that's the best method yet. I just like the idea that one doesn't have to rely on a separate website for news about the one site they care about.
