461  Economy / Economics / Re: When you sell is no longer "yours" on: October 15, 2021, 09:38:32 AM
Yeah for sure.

I've also heard countless times about people complaining how the market is screwed now because they sold early etc.

You simply can't have it both ways - if you sell an investment, you are forgoing all rights to it and making a conscious decision to derisk and invest in cash instead. No point complaining about anything that happens to the investment afterwards.
462  Economy / Economics / Re: The $69m NFT buyer & seller were partners on: October 15, 2021, 07:57:31 AM
I see a lot of people who have millions locked up in NFTs thinking that it's liquid wealth.

It's not. The exact same reason why NFTs are able to appreciate so much in value over a short period of time means that the entire market can silently crash overnight as well.

If these wash traders stop pumping up prices all of a sudden, you could price your NFTs at sky high values and no one will bat an eye at you.
463  Economy / Economics / Re: Are banks needed for crypto? on: October 15, 2021, 03:37:39 AM
Just started to learn about DeFi, and a question arose.

Fiats have a loan mechanism. Manufacturers use it to improve their production.

Is there something similar in crypto? How does it work then? And are such services in demand? Do manufacturers take loans in crypto?

Isn't that killing DeFi idea? Is there a future for loan mechanism in crypto?

Thanks everyone in advance for the answers.

Absolutely not. Banks are middlemen that DeFi is trying to replace.

Sure, it may seem impossible right now to work apply DeFi to the real life, but truth is that increasingly a lot of the utility of banks are going away.

You can already borrow using collateral, enter into swaps, etc. with absolutely no middlemen on DeFi platforms. All these things you can already do, just think about what's possible in 10 years when DeFi actually matures.
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No one talks about Sic Bo!? on: October 15, 2021, 02:30:16 AM
Ohh, is this literally called SIcbo?  because i have been playing this and it is called Craps Game in which almost i believe that it is the original game name.

Bitcasino is where i usually play this but there are also several  sites that has same game but not that popular to many.

and also I al looking for live crap/sicbo gaming , is there some?

Craps and Sic Bo are two completely different games with different payouts.

Craps actually has some bets that are 0 house edge (but generally has some very low limits depending on how much you bet on the other bets), whilst Sic Bo has much higher house edge.

The only similarity is that they both use dice... But everything else is different. Craps is a whole lot more strategic and complex.
465  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betfair like cryptobetting sites on: October 15, 2021, 12:24:55 AM
Back in the days Betfair was allowed in my country I used to do a lot of sportsbook bet trading but since it has been forbidden I haven't found any other real good alternatives. I was wondering if any of you guys know any Sports bet trading crypto site similar to Betfair?

Fairlay and Futuur come to mind.

If you have large volume you could potentially even create your markets on the forum or on your own site. This space is ready for disruption.

But if you're just playing for fun perhaps it's best to just use a bookie directly?
466  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack.fun | 0.28% House edge | Live tables | Baccarat |Slots| InstantWithraw on: October 14, 2021, 10:38:24 PM
Blackjack freerolls in every hour are back! Enjoy!

How do the freerolls work?

I was trying to figure it out but I don't see any option to claim the freerolls anywhere.

But site looks fantastic after the redo! A lot more professional than the previous design for sure - hats off to your UI designer!
467  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅ OddsBase.net - Historical bookmakers odds base on: October 14, 2021, 09:58:20 PM

There is no such thing as a legal base and an illegal base. We collect the base like the others. through the website of bookmakers.

I guess he's probably referring to the fact that you may have just copied this database off of someone else and breached copyright?

Probably a minor concern but I think that people would be more worried about how accurate the data is etc.

Are you willing to provide vouch copies to trusted forum members?
468  Economy / Economics / Re: What do people think about CBDC? on: October 14, 2021, 08:25:56 PM
I think that it's absolute BS but at the same time it's inevitable.

As long as crypto makes progress, blockchain technology will also be harvested to do some stuff that is less than desirable.

CBDCs is definitely one of these things given that it is pretty much fiat v2.0 which is entirely what bitcoin is trying to eliminate in the first place. But good money will drive out bad money, don't worry about that.
469  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese construction Mega-Bankruptcy. Evergrande about to crash for 355B on: October 14, 2021, 07:49:44 PM
It's nowhere as bad as Lehman Brothers. In 2008 Lehman had over $600 billion in debt.
13 years later this is $300 billion.

Not saying it's not bad, just not to the scale that the Lehman situation was.

It also goes back to the fact that there is no such thing as 'too big to fail' no matter what country / culture you are dealing with.
Greed and poor management is universal.

-Dave

Completely agree with the commentary regarding "too big to fail".

I think that this sort of self delusion is actually permeating throughout the cryptospace as well, especially NFTs.

But yeah, the Evergrande situation is definitely not as significant as Lehman given that a) it's not as big and b) it's nowhere near as interconnected and complex as Lehman was (and most of the victims are retail investors more than other institutions).
470  Other / Archival / Re: American banks begin to be "friends" with bitcoin on: October 14, 2021, 07:20:29 PM
It's really a sharp turning point.

A welcome one, though. Even if it's purely out of self interest, any sort of adoption is good adoption and any publicity is good publicity.

Hopefully people aren't fazed by the bait and switch when commercial banks start issuing their own centralized tokens though. That's my fear.
471  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐺WOLF.BET - Advanced Dice Game 🎲 Sportsbook 🏟️ Slots 🎰 on: October 14, 2021, 09:39:16 AM
Hey,

Can someone tell me something about the bookmaker? Good limits? Serious bookmaker, not like Betop?

Wolfbet is pretty legit as far as I can tell.

Limits aren't going to be near your fiat betting exchanges but it does the trick for most small time players. Depends on the market too so don't expect too much out of niche markets.

  • Why do you send the transaction with a 30 times higher bitcoin network fee than actually needed?
0.00043 BTC at current rates is equivalent to around 25 bucks which is completely messed up. I have no idea why some gamblers are okay with such exorbitant fees just because they provide alternate cryptocurrencies with cheaper fees.

I sent close to 300 bucks recently with a network fee of only 1-6 sat/vB which is a miniscule fee when compared to 25 bucks. Wolf.bet needs to learn from sites like Bitcasino which literally charge zero withdrawal fees.

True, this is definitely an issue that casinos need to update their systems to. Unfortunately too many are just sitting and doing nothing because players are okay with it.
472  Economy / Gambling / Re: [WARNING]Duckdice.io unbelievable losing Strike,Shady behavior,Fake Licenses on: October 14, 2021, 09:14:03 AM
You could have made so many valid arguments against Duckdice's reputation yet you went with the worst one.

The fact of the matter is that this is completely normal.

Losing streaks are always going to occur in dice regardless of what platform you play on. Pretty sure even Duckdice has a provably fair mechanism inbuilt.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: October 14, 2021, 08:18:25 AM
Less than a week to the Regular Season, I really can't wait the at least I can have something really worthwhile during weeks like this in football (International Break).

I'll be making my first bets since the Pre-Season started, It's going to be on the Dallas Mavericks and Pacers, I'm having both teams to win their respective games at halftime for @ 2.28 Odds.

I don't think that taking the halftime odds make any sense.

You can't really predict results of that in any meaningful way - it's pretty much rolling a dice on 2x odds but with really bad house edge.

But I completely agree with the excitement around the start of the regular season. It's going to be very fun, especially with all the Lakers legends now on the same team.
474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buying shib right now on: October 14, 2021, 07:47:05 AM
Another bandwagoner...

OP, I highly suggest that you look into actual investment vehicles or research large cap coins before you delve into the realm of gambling on memecoins which are supposedly going to 10x or 20x your capital.

From someone who has been around for a while, it's not worth it for the trouble. The hype comes and goes, and only good technology stays over time.
475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: have you ever play or won from a crypto exchange lottery? on: October 14, 2021, 06:57:49 AM
Yes, I've played plenty of times.

There's quite a lot of platforms that offer this, honestly. I personally play the most of freebitco.in.

Not a big fan given that house edge has always been pretty high and the games are just way too slow for my liking.

Exactly. I don't see the point?

The problem with all of these lotteries is that they simply don't provide any thrill to gambling which makes them pretty mundane when it comes to entertainment value, and also they usually provide crappy RTP.

Each to their own I guess. Never played on any myself.
476  Economy / Economics / Re: When will the role of fiat currency disappear against crypto. on: October 09, 2021, 08:14:28 AM
Currently, there are many usd-based stablecoins such as, usdt, busd, usdc and maybe many others.  To be honest, I used to think that crypto would completely eliminate the usd's dominance of the world economy but I was wrong, it turns out that usd is now evolving to crypto (stablecoins).  What do you think, whether in the future bitcoin or other crypto can replace the role of currency in each country and leave fiat currencies such as usd, euro, yuan and others.

What's wrong with stablecoins?

I think that intrinsically they are serving a valuable purpose which is bridging the gap between the fiat economy and the crypto economy.

Until the crypto space evolves to the point that it is self sufficient we will always need stablecoins around, unfortunately. And peaceful coexistence of cryptos with fiat is honestly not a bad outcome either.
477  Economy / Economics / Re: Investors Spent Millions on 'Evolved Apes' NFTs. Then They Got Scammed on: October 09, 2021, 07:44:55 AM
If this stuff is raising $2.7 mil, the NFT space is beyond screwed.

I do see a bright future when it comes to the actual applications of NFTs, for instance, in the field of rewards programs.

But that is definitely NOT what these people in the NFT space is doing right now. All they are doing is flipping jpegs of ape avatars for profit and hoping that the next person along will be willing to purchase it off them for more.
478  Economy / Economics / Re: Permanent inflation or "just temporary" on: October 09, 2021, 07:32:43 AM
When it comes to inflation, i don't really think or see it as a temporary situation. Yes, we may at some point experience temporary calm in the situation of things, but soon after inflation will become a topic again. It is safer to plan to seek out ways to earn more and be able to support your lifestyle, because inflation to me will always be constant.

Unless, of course, you save your wealth into decentralized crypto assets Smiley

This is definitely not going to be a temporary situation.

Inflation has been happening to fiat currency, representative currency, and any centrally issued currency since the dawn of time.

Why are people still surprised when they see inflation jump to 5% p.a.?

In fact, that's actually fairly good in the grander scheme of things. Historically we have seen 10% p.a.+ inflation in most countries, on average.
479  Economy / Economics / Re: Evergrande situation on: October 09, 2021, 07:09:38 AM
Now we all have seen that Bitcoin reacted really well to the recent events, especially China's cryptos ban and Evergrande's crisis.

The second topic is the one I want to particularly focus on (crypto ban looks ridiculous and useless, so I don't wanna focus on that), because the Chinese central bank warned everybody of a possible "storm" that could occur in these weeks.

Do you think that we can consider this crisis solved or should we really expect another little bearish move?

Crisis not averted, but crypto is going to be completely independent of this anyhow.

We've seen how strongly crypto has rebounded during COVID as well as the Evergrande crisis in the beginning stages.

People will start realizing that fiat economy woes have nothing to do with bitcoin or other decentralzed cryptos, period. There will probably be more defaults but bitcoin is also an asset class of its own.
480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buyback tax on: October 09, 2021, 06:52:18 AM
Many altcoins such as FOMO BABY (FOMOBABY) promise to redistribute "tax" (membership fees) from newcomers to existing hodlers. Are these cryptos technically functional? Are they illegal pyramid schemes?

It's a clever pyramid scheme in disguise.

I see a lot of NFTs who do this as well and buyers somehow think that this is a positive to have.

This is literally how Bitconnect and other scam coins have run, just in a subtly different form. Please avoid these coins for the sake of the community and to ensure that you're not accidentally supporting these fraudsters.
