Do you have a portfolio? I'm looking for an efficient front end developer.
462  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: eGaming/ gambling advice needed for exciting new online multiplayer game on: March 01, 2014, 07:38:27 PM
If you were going to make a game that you could make bitcoin in, I'd make something like SecondLife. People could invest btc in virtual property and withdrawal profits. Bitcoin is plagued with too many casinos as it is, make something unique and fun.
It's not a game. It's betting on eSports.
463  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: eGaming/ gambling advice needed for exciting new online multiplayer game on: March 01, 2014, 05:59:11 PM
I was really interested in this until you mentioned that it wont be unbiased betting.
I was totally fine with a winners takes all, losers lose everything and house gets a cut.
Gambling laws are different depending of where you are, you should start with that I think. (I'm no legal adviser though)

465  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Throwing out an idea for buying and selling BTC with Credit cards and Paypal on: February 28, 2014, 03:54:41 AM
Point:  this has been tried many, many, many times - all failed.

Point:  it is your time and money to lose.

Good luck!
well, virwox still sells linden dollars for PayPal and exchanges them for btc. For years now.

Still for new merchants this is no longer possible.

Yeah... But they have to charge extreme fees/rates above the actual Bitcoin value to Account for risk/loss; as well as they have many fraud prevention tactics built within their systems.
Myself I'm more than willing to pay a 10~20% fee if that means being able to buy bitcoin with my visa or paypal.
466  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Throwing out an idea for buying and selling BTC with Credit cards and Paypal on: February 27, 2014, 04:53:07 PM
yeah, but that really narrows it down to hand to hand transactions. which restricts the bitcoin acquisition to only places that mined bitcoin initially.
there must be a way..
There is nothing to lose with banks, working together with a bank so that they make those chargebacks easier to dispute shouldn't be impossible. There is a big market for it, and a fee on each transaction should be attractive enough.
467  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: what do you think is the future of btc/ghs market on cex.io? on: February 27, 2014, 03:03:09 AM
>It will only decrease as the difficulty goes up.
Well, that's because you will get less return as the difficulty goes up.
I believe right now it is a 4 months return investment and only after that you will see profit.

Don't know what magical calculator you're using but it will not turn profitable after 4 months.  It has a decaying return like all miners and it's priced too high compared to miners to begin with.  Only good for flipping or entertainment.

well.. this is my magical calculator..

468  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Throwing out an idea for buying and selling BTC with Credit cards and Paypal on: February 27, 2014, 02:25:43 AM
then what about zynga and all the game companies that sell in game currency? they can be victims of chargebacks?
Those are virtual items too, credits which you can keep record of.  (you can also keep record of bitcoins within the bitcoin protocol)
So disputing the chargeback shouldn't be hard if you have a proper business going on.
469  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Throwing out an idea for buying and selling BTC with Credit cards and Paypal on: February 27, 2014, 01:57:30 AM
Really? chargebacks after a whole month sounds very unreasonable.
Paypal has already shown interest in bitcoin, its not really that far fetched for paypal to do a join venture with a big exchange. (I believe the Winklevoss twins said something about they being interested in making an exchange)

Also.. why is this so hard? if chargebacks were as easy as everyone seems to think they are, why bitcoin? why not doing chargebacks on ebay or amazon ?
470  Bitcoin / Project Development / Throwing out an idea for buying and selling BTC with Credit cards and Paypal on: February 27, 2014, 01:25:02 AM
If I were the one taking the project I would make an exchange for bitcoin and altcoins and give the option to sell credits.
System: 1 Credit == 1$
But the catch is that the company will make that credits only usable a whole month after purchase. This means that in the Terms of Service it should say that the time for the credits to be valid are so that the users can perform any chargeback if they don't see fit, and as protection so that if it is a stolen card, the rightful owner haves plenty of time to perform a chargeback too.
Alongside a secondary method of authentication could speed up this process via phone as an example.

Might sound crazy but lets use the latest supercomputer in China(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tianhe-2)...but wait, what if the Chinese already have the answer and redeem the bounty then what will happen? hmmm........

just to make things more graspable

Tianhe-2 can perform 33860000000000000 floating point operations per second
There are 1157920892373161954235709850086900000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000 combinations for the SHA 256 output and each SHA256 has 64rounds which means that each hash has to be processed 64 times and each of that rounds have a complex set of operations.
So even with the fastest computer on earth, it would take more than just 1000 years (there are 31104000 seconds in a year)
474  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB: Up to 1,000 GOX BTC on: February 26, 2014, 12:41:03 AM
If you are going to wait for the GOX coin holder to actually be able to retrieve his coins from GOX and trade then with you then why would anyone do that?
I mean if someone is able to retrieve his coinds from GOX then they are just plain good coins, why trade them with you for 7.5% their value? it makes no sense.

This can only be appealing if what you are offering is the risk. Say I have 50 BTC in GOX but I can't retrieve them. Say that I think I won't be able to retrieve them and you offer is to buy my gox account for a certain amount of BTC, then that's somewhat attractive.

Getting an SSL certificate is a good start. You can get one for free or pay for brand.
(its basically paying for brand, but issuers can and will stop issuing the certificate if you do shady things with issuing companies like norton.)
(you can get one of the free ones and they pretty much just put you on a bad people list if you do anything wrong.)
Also its an extra degree of security to set up and https server to serve and manage the data. That data is encrypted and harder to decrypt if sniffed.
without it, even if your website is just a bridge between the third party merchan service and my information, that data can be collected, even if not by you it could be collected by hackers nearby your clients. That's why https is a big deal when dealing with sensible information.

I hope you find this useful, and I'm really looking forward to you implementing security on your website.
I'm from Peru and buying btc with VISA or Paypal is almost impossible for me. I can't just buy BTC from coinbase like people with USA bank accounts can.

Can you name some irreversible payment methods?
I think I'll give it a try, if it is a scam then it is just 5$ lost. I think we need a company willing to slowly build trust and reputation.
If companies learn to treat bitcoin as virtual assets and declare taxes on the transactions the way it should be, they can dispute the chargebacks.

edit:
I'm sorry I can not risk my cc information if the website says secured by norton but when I try to access it with https it says that the server does not match.
"You attempted to reach drawbtc.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as www.hnpacific.com" and the actual SSL is from StartCom Ltd. probably FreeSSL
edit2: actually the website through https doesn't work at all.

I can risk 5$, but I wont risk my whole bank account :/

You realize the website does not have SSL certificate. It doesn't need one, the payment is transfered on behalf of selz.com

Please check your information before you start degrading my service.

Thanks Smiley

I'm sorry, but your server does serve an SSL certificate that doesn't correspond with your website. That's what got me confused.
The fact that it says norton secured usually means that you have a norton verified SSL certificate, which you don't have.
https://selz.com does have it (their SSL issuer is http://www.geotrust.com/ which is owned by symantec, I suppose they can issue certificates under Norton's brand)
Still, you are managing sensible information without actual encryption, so your website is not safe at all.

If there is a sniffer in between my connection and your server without a proper https encryption I wouldn't be able to notice and my cc account could get compromised for that.
This are serious issues you should check before starting to manage sensible information like credit cards.
You might have a good intention here, I'm sure you do. But you are being a little too careless with security.

To make it simple: There is nothing for me to trust that your website doesn't collect data or that it is not being hacked right now.
477  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buy Bitcoins - $5.00 Starter Packs on: February 24, 2014, 03:30:15 AM
You realize scammers can reverse payments, this is why the 1 - 3 day delay is in place.

Then why not offer irreversible payment methods instead? Given the volatility and uncertainties in this market, delivery that long can compromise the coin's value. If the markets dip on delivery day, then one ends up with potentially $2 or $3 worth of coins for a payment of $5.

478  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 1996 NSA paper on digital currency - Bitcoin? on: February 17, 2014, 11:01:05 PM
The NSA was the actual creator of the SHA 256 encryption algorithm so it is not that far fetched to think that Satoshi Nakamoto could have been a member of the NSA..
479  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] Need a logo and slogan for new hybrid exchange on: February 17, 2014, 03:12:16 PM
For branding issues I recommend you to make them separate services.
1 website for the gambling and another one for the exchange with a special service treatment for in-game coin.
Merging those services together adds no value, the gambling aspect of dice does not combine with a serious exchange.

Also, making an exchange is not an easy task and you need a big amount of capital to see it get up and running.

I don't think you will be able to fit this videos under fair-use law for the making of your documentary.
Don't just jump and use anything on the internet. Most is copyrighted material, ask for permission for the usage of those videos beforehand.
