I we keep going up at the average rate for these two months, times the percentage... Carry the one... We're gonna be at about $600 by may 9th. I hope that's not wishful thinking, but I feel it is.

Seriously guys, you think that $5k by 2016 Is possible?

I wouldnt count on it. I say the high for 2016 is... $900? Maybe $800? I dont know, I just pulled a pair of numbers out of the good old derriere.
465  Economy / Speculation / Re: What goes up :) on: March 05, 2015, 03:03:54 AM
No, one could just stay in orbit, never really "coming down", or periodically go up and down (like comets).
466  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 05, 2015, 02:57:35 AM

You see, if you profit from day trading, you make bitcoin less volatile and make it more useful.

quite the opposite.

I find it pretty useless when less volatile.

“Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is. But they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.”

Interesting...

How did one chane the image size? Damn it, I have it written here somewhere!
Yay, found it!

TIL, trolls make all sorts of crazy conspiracy theories when it comes to bitcoin.
For example Jorge Solfo(something something) said "any kid with a laptop" can duplicate their bitcoin by mining a duplicate blockchain (somehow), and some manipulation of private keys... yet he is unable to present a proof of concept. Because any kid with a laptop can mine a blockchain parallel to the one we use... somehow creating "bitcoin b".

Also, I predict that we're gonna get to $280 before the auction, then we ether drop to $250-$260, or stay steadily (with fluctuations) creeping up to $300 by next Wednesday.

Guys, I just found out a gold deposit got "hacked" (http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/million-gold-stolen-truck-north-carolina-29329470), that means all paper money is doomed to fail, right?
471  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 02, 2015, 04:20:27 PM

(Before you scream "21 million": that bitcoin limit is "guaranteed" only by  fuzzy arguments about a complicated economic game, not "by math", and could be changed if the right players agreed to it.  Moreover, any kid can duplicate the amount of bitcoins in existence by creating a hard fork of the blockchain and starting to mine it on his laptotp.  Anyone who has bitcoins will gain an equal amount of those "series B" bitcoins, accessible through the same private keys, and could trade them independently of his old bitcoins by duplicating his wallet and downloading the kids's client software. Whether those "series B" bitcoins will get a significant market value is a market(ing) question, not a technical one.  And, of course, there are the altcoins.)

You're describing a double spend attack, right? Ether that, or something completely idiotic.
Imma go ahead and call bullshit. There's no way you can pre-mine a blockchain, you're racing against the entire network to solve the hash. The hash of the previous block is included into the hashing process of the next. You'd have to start out solving the latest block on the chain, and the consecutively solve... how many blocks do propose, exactly? Not only that, but pre-mine ahead of the network. The most consecutive blocks mined are six, by the largest pool in the entire network. This isnt a "any kid can do it at home with his laptop" scenario.
Then, just copy over the wallet to some other computer and spend the coins twice... What?
You obviously have not idea what you're talking about.

I'll bet you all my coins (0.107) that you (you consider yourself superior to "any kid with a laptop", right) definitely CANNOT duplicate any bitcoin through the method you described.

snip
(Also, how do you make an image smaller?)
Oh for god's sake. MS paint then resize> change to pixels> and type in like 600 or 800 and let the rest auto populate> save

Duh, I mean... can you make it smaller directly here through format code alone? I'm gonna guess no, based on your answer.
Thanks, I got it! Tongue
473  Economy / Economics / Re: I need bitcoin to be $690 to break even.....will I make it? on: March 02, 2015, 04:52:29 AM
Yeah, you can get even in 2 or three years. I would hope that we reach it in 2015, but I think we're gonna see that price again October of 2016. Maybe a bit before then. Then we're gonna get to $800+ sometime after the halving coming December 2016. But that's just a guess.
474  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 02, 2015, 04:38:02 AM
bitcoin it is worth its weight in gold.
Care to explain the current price of gold then?
First you tell me the weight of a bitcoin.  Cheesy

So, something's weight is directly correlated to it's value? Just because something's density is cero kg/m3, doesnt meant it's without value. Care to explain why mercury and gold are differently priced? Why is lead and gold differently priced? Seems like an arbitrary choice made by society that we all just accept for convenience. Could something digital get to that status?

hmm...

hmm...

See any similarities?
(Also, how do you make an image smaller?) Nevermind. Thanks, empowering!
475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 01, 2015, 06:20:03 PM
If it breaks the trend line currently sitting at around 238-240 with decent volume, it's done.

I think we're gonna be going to the moon when e break through $300. I think it's gonna be a sluggish rise (like what we saw in Feb.) until we get to $300.
476  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 01, 2015, 03:04:00 PM
Now, at the risk of being too optimistic:

477  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will BTC again reach 400$+ on: March 01, 2015, 02:54:55 PM
Sometime near October, I guess.
478  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 01, 2015, 02:32:08 PM
Morning gents.   Kinda boring since the runup, just up and down until (boom) realization that the 50k auction is next Friday.

My prediction is starting to come to fruition as I celebrate here in my parent's basement.

High five! My prediction came true as well. I predicted a run up to 250 and a drop in about $10 a few days ago. Now, If only I would have acted on it...
479  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 27, 2015, 04:51:35 AM
beartrolls be like

"taking the day off today"

Then, when the price goes to $250 (from this $260-$270 pump), they're gonna be like "we told you so, now it's gonna drop to $50".
480  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 27, 2015, 04:34:44 AM
new bottom is gonna be 240 for a while, then moon... hopefully

Let's just skip the bottoms and shoot for the moon this time.

Thanks.   Wink

Lol, k. Wink
