461  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] FPGA Mining Contract on: February 06, 2012, 04:25:48 PM

Please let me know if I left anything out or you have any other questions!

Hi, I've chosen the option "upload keys" for the other account (i have two accounts with glbse; one self made and one glbse keypair generated).
Nowhere I found it mentioned that the uploaded keypair must not be password protedted (usually every key pair I generate is password protected, kind of auto pilot).

My question is, can I change the keypair of the other account while I transferred assets to it?

Of course I can not use the other account. There's no prompt for password, just an error msg while I try to use the account.
462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: George Selgin discusses privatization of the money supply based on Bitcoin on: February 05, 2012, 10:11:47 AM
was worth watching for me for sure. thanks for posting.

he got the part about bitcoin quite right (surprisingly to me) and I got the impression he suggests that central banks schedule their open market interventions and announce the rules and limits in advance so that the amount of base money is predictable over time. no emergency direct lending. interesting

edit: no graphs, could be a podcast
463  Economy / Lending / Re: [Found] Looking for 28 bitcoin loan on: February 03, 2012, 08:20:43 AM
Happy to answer your questions mila:
...
When doing this loan it was apparent that it would cover the other two or three loans that he had outstanding, but not more.  That was something I was prepared to fund.
...
What annoyed me, and annoyed INAU even more was after he got my coins he got more from INAU and didn't pay back the other lenders.  ...

Thanks! and also to copumpkin ...
interesting. and sad (the part when kujoking did not use the loan to repay other outstanding loans)

My only experience with bitcoin lending is among friends and non profit.
464  Economy / Lending / Re: [Found] Looking for 28 bitcoin loan on: February 02, 2012, 01:56:49 AM
And before any others jump in with silly "witless" comments, I confirm the terms are as set out.

what about silly comments after the show?
I'd love to post 2 questions

1) why a high interest loan in the first place? 2 % a day seems to be much by any standard. even for high risk transactions it looks like usury (from far away where I observe it).
2) what was his story? gambling?
465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 16 / 17 in layman's terms on: January 30, 2012, 02:49:44 PM
did you notice deepbit pool voted with 1 block so far?
http://blockchain.info/p2sh

I missed the info however that he [Tycho] chosed a side in the 16 vs 17 poll.
was this 1 block / vote an accident or just saying "I'm watching you, here's my .5 % of voting capacity"
466  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS Macbook Pro! on: January 26, 2012, 03:16:10 PM
Is Maged willing to 'rip off' the seller and use the escrowed bitcoins for payments to other addresses? Is the seller aware of the conditions?
I may be missing some context / history, just want to buy an affordable laptop here.
If kujoking7 is unable/unwilling to ship the product under these terms, you will be refunded. If this ends up not being enough to pay off all of the creditors, I would be willing to remit the cost of shipping (converted to Bitcoins) to kujoking7 upon receiving a scanned receipt (assuming the buyer gives the all-clear).

I'm not considering buying any more. Checked the overseas shipping costs but worse the 2009 model does not have hardware support for AES, show stopper. I must look for i5 or at least i3 CPU laptop.
Thank you for the clarification on escrow. I had a look at the other forums and see how why he's selling.

good luck getting your high interest loans back. considered haircut already? but with the fluctuations in exchange rate the final btc amount could be enough.
467  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS Macbook Pro! on: January 25, 2012, 05:09:31 PM
I am also available for escrow. No fee since it is part of an open investigation. Also, your coins will be treated in a completely neutral manner. If you get ripped off, they will be returned to you. On the flip side, if you release the coins from a positive outcome, they will go directly to his creditors.

like no ups/dhl dispatch / track proof will be available (no online tracking number) and package never arrives?

Hi everyone,

There is a 10 BTC bounty for buying this item... so you can consider that a discount if you are a prospective buyer.
I will be adding to this bounty later.
The bounty only applies if funds go through a reputable escrow like Maged, and then he gives kujoking's creditors their coins (with interest and late payment fees) before giving the rest to kujoking.

Is Maged willing to 'rip off' the seller and use the escrowed bitcoins for payments to other addresses? Is the seller aware of the conditions?

468  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Judge Orders Defendant to Decrypt Laptop on: January 24, 2012, 04:17:37 PM
It should also be pointed out, that he would have been fine if he used truecrypt with the plausible deniability feature.. or a hidden volume inside of his encrypted volume.

this.
469  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: bitcoin: URI expiration date on: January 24, 2012, 02:41:55 PM
The problem is: time is not synchronized.
But as he said, block number is the real time of the Bitcoin network Cheesy

+ 1
block numbers ftw!
seriously, this is the pulse of bitcoin and probably the only reliable indicator of time/progress not mentioning the account balances Wink
470  Economy / Goods / Re: Gold AND Silver Bitcoins Available! Starting at 20% Above Spot Price! on: January 24, 2012, 02:35:06 PM
hi Gabriel,
could you, please, confirm the premium on gold coins to be 20% over spot (and availability)?
thanks, mila
471  Economy / Marketplace / Re: My Bitcoin Mint - 1oz Silver Bitcoin Available NOW on: January 24, 2012, 02:31:26 PM
oh! I did not know about the other forum. good luck with modding the rounds to accommodate the casascius stickers. It might be necessary to get another dice probably (the side with your mint/project name) to allow for smooth sticker friendly surface and either restrike the rounds or apply on next batch. I'll look at your results gladly Smiley at the moment only the rounds would be fine. PM will follow

hope you find this useful:

otherwise you can always run bitcoin client over tor connecting to ordinary p2p nodes.

"holy thread revival!" award nominee:

so how was the purity test? do you still sell them and would you ship to EU?
thanks and sorry for the post if you're out of business eventually.
I just bookmarked you back then and did not like your design.
things changed in a sense that I collected some other silver rounds with a bitcoin logo on it and would like to buy some of yours as well.

476  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Intersango still holding on to customers money on: January 20, 2012, 09:27:40 AM
A. How big is the company?

http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/volumepie/

it seems to me they are 2nd - 3rd in size competing with Tradehill & biggest in UK / GBP
although I don't check that pie daily.

+1 curiosity for the B part. what's the plan to reach profitability?
477  Other / Meta / Re: How do we unsubscribe from a thread topic? on: January 20, 2012, 08:30:43 AM
EDIT: or you can simply click the "ALL" button next to the page numbers.

wow, that was invisible all this time until you mentioned it.

edit: now i see why it was invisible... that link doesn't appear on long threads like "List of honest traders". i guess because there are so many pages.

you nailed it. the "really long threads" (I guess over 30 pages) hide the 'ALL' option but forcing it by adding the ;all should work
also in a thread like 'Introduce yourself' in the Newbies section with 200+ pages. careful when following this example:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15672.0;all

edit: nope, does not work for the introduce yourself thread. but for honest sellers it worked when I edited/deleted my posts
e2: tried with list of honest sellers and it fails as well. must have stopped working since I last used it Sad I was not even able to set custom entries per page that would work around the limitations set by the forum software. seems the only way now is to crawl list of own submissions and search by forum name.
478  Other / Meta / Re: How do we unsubscribe from a thread topic? on: January 20, 2012, 01:59:27 AM
what worked for me in the past is to list the thread with .all in the url.
then search by my username and click the delete with the middle mouse button so that it opens the delete command in new tab.
that way I don't loose track where am I in the deleting process and can hit next all the way down
might suck in big and dandy threads but is better than nothing.

and you can always outsource this for a few bitcents to a newbie who looks for a job
(don't forget to sign an agreement that he will not mess around with your profile and change password afterwards Wink )
