Sorry, What? Are you drunk?

Lol, no I'm not drunk and that might be the problem.  And apparently I haven't had enough coffee yet either.  Sorry for the brain fart, you are correct.

That only proves you're the same person in control of the account since March, after you came back from the inactive period.  If you are unable to prove you are the same person who held this account before June 2018 you may have trouble finding a lender.

4623  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CNN trying to manufacture consent backfires hilariously! on: May 13, 2019, 04:21:47 PM
They get away with his because no one is calling out their advertisers in a way similar to how left wing operative groups call out advertisers of Fox News and similar to silence their opinions.

That's a really good point, but also illustrates the differences between conservatives and progressives.  Conservatives don't try to squash the ideas and speech of those with whom they disagree.  That's almost exclusively a far-left tactic, using the isms to villainies any dissenters.  Notice I didn't use the word liberal, because I remember when liberals still valued freedom of speech.

The irony is their viewership is in the tanks.  Not even Don Lemon can resurrect their meteoric decline.  Their advertizers will end up getting the hint one way or another.  It just won't be because of a small but vociferous group of over-sensitive snowflakes threatening a boycott.

This is hardly the most dishonest thing CNN has done in the past couple of years, or even months. In March, they ~immidiately started talking about healthcare at the public request of Nancy Pelosi.

Of course.  They are The Party's media sycophant.  It's so blatant it's pathetic.

CNN's coverage is anti-Trump enough so their viewers (who watch because CNN is anti-Trump) don't care when they are caught fabricating a story, or otherwise being dishonest, and they wont bother to fact-check what CNN is saying.

Even the lemmings are having a harder and harder time arguing the blatant lies they've been spoon-fed.  I see it on a daily basis; their eyes start glazing over when they force themselves to regurgitate The Party talking points.  They know they're repeating lies, but they keep doing it to maintain denial of their failure.

4624  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: View multiple Trezor accounts in Electrum? on: May 13, 2019, 03:30:42 PM
Setup your wallet on Electrum as you normally would (Standard Wallet -> Use a hardware wallet) and when it comes to the part where you select the script type and derivation path, change the last digit of the derivation path to the number of your wallet.

Eg:

Quote
m/49'/0'/0' (first account)
m/49'/0'/1' (second account)
m/49'/0'/2' (third account)
https://wiki.trezor.io/Apps:Electrum

Thank you.  I knew there had to be a way to get this done, and I'm not a fan of the Trezor wallet interface.

So, another question; Can I use the same method to create multiple accounts using a single seed phrase generated by Electrum?

Thanks again.
4625  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a quick [No Collateral] loan of 0.015 BTC on: May 13, 2019, 03:13:29 PM
Although there are more ways to prove the ownership of this account and won't be a difficult task for me.

Would you mind doing so?  You have a significant gap in your activity from June up until March of this year.  An inactive user who suddenly becomes active and then asks for a loan can be quite a risk.

Here's another address I've found, can you sign a message with this one?

4626  Other / Meta / Re: Ban evasion - rchstr on: May 13, 2019, 02:47:22 PM
However, this is a green trusted user, it doesn't hurt to at least "neutralize" that until he's banned.

That was my thinking.  rchstr did ask for a loan, and if he's evading a ban that would be very risky for any lender.  I figured a tag was more than appropriate in this situation.

@asche, now I feel bad for pulling you into this.  I didn't mean to start a debate as to the appropriateness of tagging a ban-evader.

Guns are made for one purpose, and that purpose is to kill.
I believe that guns are not weapons, they are tools. How they are used is up to the person holding it.
Guns are especially dangerous in the hands of people who don't know how to use them (i.e., kids and teenagers) as well as those who are mentally ill and/or have a temper problem.
Gun control will not stop violence because a violent person doesn’t need a gun to be violent.

After the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, support for gun control increased dramatically.

Generally in America, the support for gun control has outweighed the support for gun rights.

Are gun control laws constitutional?
What would be your ideal set of laws regarding firearms?

4628  Bitcoin / Electrum / View multiple Trezor accounts in Electrum? on: May 12, 2019, 09:43:37 PM
Is there a way to use Electrum to view the additional accounts I've created in my Trezor hardware wallet?  I can only see the first account I created, and don't see an option to find the other accounts.

Thanks for your help.
4629  Other / Meta / Re: Ban evasion - rchstr on: May 12, 2019, 07:38:17 PM
Tagged him in the meantime.
Tagged are so worthless these days and don't serve its purpose just because people are using it so randomly.

And you are bringing this debate here because?

Couldn't care less about what you think about it, the only way for it to work is everyone using it like they believe it should be. Trust "voting" will take care of the rest.

If people disagree with you, it's not a bad thing Wink

Tags are not worthless, unless you tag the user that's already banned, then it's kinda worthless lol.

4632  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUBS] Top Merited-Users Classified into 4 Clubs on: May 11, 2019, 03:34:33 PM
The number of banned users is increasing.

I'm surrounded by them.  Shocked

It seems a group of plagiarists have somehow been climbing in rank.  Some of them have even reached DT1 status.  What's the world coming to?
4633  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Is it possible? on: May 11, 2019, 03:22:59 PM
Nope.

I thought it was weird you didn't know, sorry for jumping to that conclusion.

You shouldn't have any trouble finding someone to accept your paypal.  Send the money to your account first.  You'll likely have to wait a couple of days for the funds to become available, but it helps with the trust factor.

And, I cast my vote for binance.  Still one of the top exchanges around, you won't likely beat their fees.  Buy a few $ worth of their binance coin to use for fees, and they'll give you a discount.
4634  Economy / Reputation / Re: Am I a friend or foe of Bitcoin? on: May 11, 2019, 03:02:29 PM
@Vod I think, you are a friend to crypto.  My vote was cast months ago when I added you to my custom trust list.

As for reporting suspected frauds, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and you'll never convince some people that they are being scammed.  Take Amway, for example; I used to work with a pair of bottom-rungers who ceaselessly attempted to recruit everyone in the plant.  No one could convince these guys they were being scammed, and one guy was asked by management to stop trying because of the heated discussions.

No matter how you dress up a pyramid scheme; MLM or blatant Ponzi, they're six in one and half dozen in the other.  Voicing your concern only encourages others to be more scrutinous.

I'd rather you continue to voice your concerns and possibly be wrong, than the alternative.
4635  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Is it possible? on: May 11, 2019, 02:30:35 PM
287$ = 0.05BTC
I don't mind sending first to trusted people.

Fiat?

287$ of what?
You want exchange BTC for PayPal or what pair?

It should be possible, but most exchangers here do it with fiat. I didn't see altcoin trades here at any time.

Fiat?

Fiat is a country's currency, like a 1$ bill or a Philippine Peso.  I think coupable is asking; how do you plan to send the $287?  Is it in a PayPal account, or some other payment service?

4637  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Change the default profile placeholders (ICQ/AOL/MSN, etc) on: May 11, 2019, 01:27:47 AM
Placeholders that should be added: Discord, Telegram

I would also add keybase.io

It was discussed before, here:
The profile page should be changed. No one uses ICQ, AIM, MSN or YIM.

And here is the answer of theymos:
Those fields are actually built a bit deeply into SMF for some reason, so it's not completely trivial to change, but it can be done. Low on my to-do list, though, as hugeblack mentioned.

Maybe it'll be implemented in the Epoch system, but I doubt we'll ever see it in the SMF version.
4638  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Good afternoon. Does anyone know if SFox Inc is legitimate? on: May 10, 2019, 07:25:56 PM
They've been around for about a year or so.  I tried to set up an account when I first learned about them, but they were asking for all my personal info, and I didn't feel comfortable sharing my KYC with a new outfit.  Even if we are neighbors (I live in the SF bay area.)  I haven't heard anything bad about them, but I haven't heard anything good about them either.

Another reasons I chose not to go through with setting up my account was that their fees are more than the other exchange I was already set up with.  So, I use coinbase.com.
4639  Economy / Lending / Re: [LIST] Bitcointalk's Lending Services [LIST] on: May 10, 2019, 07:04:45 PM
Thanks for the offer.  I have all the info in an excel table that's pretty easy to manage.  I also created a spreadsheet that writes the BB code for the table so I can just copy and paste when an updates are needed.  I use Access everyday, and to be honest I prefer to avoid it as often as possible.

4640  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lending money = DT Trust? on: May 10, 2019, 06:40:09 PM
Don't want to point out any individuals, you can find some threads on lending section by DT members who almost leave positive for most of their completed deals.

Being new to the lending game, this is actually something I've been struggling with.  I don't want to come off as a trust abuser, that's not my intention at all.  So, I'm taking a case by case approach to leaving positive reviews for my borrowers.  The value of the loan is only part of the equation, and the borrower's history is another part.

Also, if I give a loan without collateral, that obviously requires trust, and once it's paid back I believe a positive review is justified.  Like hilariousetc said, we need to consider the reviews for any user for what they are worth.  Risked BTC is included in the review for a reason.
