Thanks for the too-good-to-be-true request, but I have to decline.

The collateral you are offering is not valid (please read my tos) and you do not qualify for an unsecured loan.  Thanks anyway.
4663  Economy / Reputation / Re: How legit Negative trusted user is on DT! on: May 07, 2019, 06:28:27 PM
it's nothing personal.

This should be emblazoned on the top of the trust settings page and the feed back form.

There are a couple of people who's contributions to the forum I find very valuable, and for whom I have respect, but who I've explicitly distrusted (~) from my settings.  It's not personal, it's because I don't value their reviews and their judgment on who's trustworthy and why.

There are people who I've decided not include in my trust network, even though I value their reviews.  The decision was based on whether I value the people they've included, and why.  It's just a vote being cast, and I want the folks for whom I vote to have a similar approach to the trust network.

It's not personal, it's just the practical nature of the trust system and how it works.  Just because I appreciate you as a forum member doesn't mean I trust your judgement.
4664  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty cheaters using reputed members accounts to register for bounty campaign on: May 07, 2019, 05:58:38 PM
I'm a poor boy myself. I wonder how many pennies I can earn if I sign up for various bounty campaigns using other people's credentials. I guess it would add up.

I'm not poor by global standards, but I have a mortgage on a house that I had to buy twice (never get divorced after 40,) so a little extra income is always welcome.  However, one really needs to assess what his time is worth.  I would prefer cutting my grass on a sunny afternoon for nothing gained (other than decent looking lawn,) rather than spend the same amount of time plastering other peoples names on a spreadsheet, then posting 2000 posts on social media, just to be rewarded $5 worth of shit tokens that'll take me another hour of finagling just to sell.

Before it's all said and done, you could waste an whole Sunday, and barely earn enough for a Starbucks coffee.

I'm pretty touchy about plagiarism, and not likely to cut anyone any slack for padding his post count and spamming the forum by copying the work of others, but if this is why gefander was banned it seems kind of petty.  It's obvious he copied some text and failed to provide a source, but he sort of half-assed announced that's what he was doing.

I wound't call gefander a great contributor to the forum, and it's unlikely he'll have this ban lifted due to his contributions.  However, if this turns out to be an isolated circumstance (as it appears) I would rather see some leniency in this case.

4666  Other / Meta / Re: Complete overview of users on DT1 and DT2 and their ratings on: May 07, 2019, 02:54:40 PM
I'm of the opinion that we need to have more restrictions on the DT1 and DT2 qualifications.  If there were merit requirements for being listed on either that seems like it could help the situation, and possibly reduce the ability of a lynch mob from hijacking the system.

I would like to suggest that DT1 members must have a minimum of 100 earned merit.  That wouldn't change the the DT1 landscape too much, and only restrict a few users who are currently listed.

The other suggestion I'd like to make is that to be listed on DT2 you must have a minimum of two votes from DT1 members (LoyceV's suggestion,) and a minimum 10 earned merit.

I'm not trying to make the DT system less inclusive, or more centralized.  Adding these restrictions will make it harder for people to get on the DT list, but that's not a bad thing.  Ensuring that the folks who make it to DT are constructive, contributory members who care about the forum will help keep the DT system functional and pertinent.
4667  Other / Meta / Re: Asking for Permission and Ideas on: May 07, 2019, 02:18:36 PM
I would like more information as well, but I don't know if it's such a good idea to tie the name of the charity so closely to the forum.  If this is a project for a charity that accepts crypto, or meant to promote crypto in a specific region you might be limiting the charity's reach by aligning it with the forum.

Please don't take this the wrong way; the forum could be a tremendous help in the initial stages, but in the long run it is just a forum.  By giving the charity a URL and an aligned name that conjures images of the goal I think you'll be better off in the future if the charity's reach can spread beyond the forum.

Just my opinion, and it's worth exactly what you just paid for it.
4668  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty cheaters using reputed members accounts to register for bounty campaign on: May 07, 2019, 02:10:42 PM
I'm not quite sure how someone would get more stakes just by entering a random Legendary member's name into their application.  If that's actually happening, then there definitely need to be some checks and balances in the application process.

The rank of the impersonated member might not be the important thing, it's likely the cheater is just registering as many random forum handles as he find.  It's about quantity.  Obviously by picking a reputable forum member's name they are giving the impression that the quality will also be there when they fertilize Twittbook.

4670  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hero Member loan defaulted 0.015 BTC on: May 06, 2019, 04:23:48 PM
I'm not an expert but I think Hero account with a legendary potential merit is worth more than 0.015 BTC.

I would agree, but I'm going to change the subject here:  How did that account get 1000 airdropped merit with only Hero member activity?  Are activity points lost if you purge posts from a single two-week period of time?

4671  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Don't download any Electrum software if asked, if it's a version below 3.3.3 on: May 06, 2019, 04:16:11 PM
This has been an issue for several months now.  Of course it's always a good idea to keep people aware of the dangers of malware.  But, if I may make a suggestion:  Don't put links to malware sites in your post.  Someone might not read your post thoroughly and click on the link suspecting it'll take them to the official Electrum website.  If you want to bring awareness you can put the link in a "code" box, and mark it as a phishing site, like this:

Warning Phishing Site, do not click:

4672  Economy / Reputation / Re: How legit Negative trusted user is on DT! on: May 05, 2019, 06:40:28 PM
So, tagging scam promoters on the forum is now a witchhunting offence is it?

You're entitled to tag whomever you want, and others are entitled to remove you from their trust network.  That's how the system works.

Theymos recommended against tagging the participants of that campaign for spamming, and to this point the assertions that the exchange in question is a scam have yet to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.  So it's not surprising that many will find your reviews of the participants frivolous.

BTW; I tend to agree that the exchange in question is very likely a scam, but again I have not seen enough evidence to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.  To tag someone based on my suspicion would be out of line.
4673  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I'm looking for Seller Who have huge amount of BTC(over 100,000~) on: May 05, 2019, 05:36:25 PM
400,000BTC... 230 million dollars... Seems legit.

I think you're missing a zero, there.  Preev's price today converts BTC400,000 to $2.3 billion.

don't let this thing distract you, according to top rich list there are only 4 addresses who have over 100k BTC and all of them are exchanges cold wallet.
I'm wondering whose got the money to buy that such high amount, it will be instantly became #1 as well on top rich list unless he/they separate it to various addresses.

There only a handful of people, and not too many organizations in the world that can afford such a huge purchase.  But, like you said, there aren't many hodlers that can fill the request.

As for the legitimacy; both banks listed are indeed capable of handling the funds.  It sounds like the buyer is willing to work with the seller's lawyer, which will allow the seller to remain anonymous, if he chooses.  I don't know, maybe?  Regardless, it's way out of my league.
4674  Economy / Lending / Re: Crypto for Weed on: May 05, 2019, 01:52:00 PM
This is so typical of a NorCal stoner, in fact my brother and I have been though this many times in past years:
"Can you float me some dough to score an eighth?  I'll pay you back next week."

A month later:
"Can you float me some dough to score an eighth?  I'll pay you back next week.  What?  Last month?  Oh, man I totally, like, forgot all about that, man.  So sorry, bro...  But, can you float me some dough to score an eighth?  I'll pay you back next week."

Nice of Vod to revise his trust to neutral.  I don't think Prints is a scammer, but like was said earlier, stoners aren't the most responsible, or punctual.  But they're usually honest.
4675  Economy / Reputation / Re: Abuse of Trust Power - did you make it for this Theymos? on: May 04, 2019, 05:49:43 PM
The trust system is always going to subject to fluctuation.  I found something that could explain why IconFirm ended up on DT2, see the link below.

I added four DT1 members to my ~distrust list this morning, and I bet others are doing the same.

I think some more restrictions on DT1 status might be in order also.  Something happened this morning which sent me stumbling onto these three DT1 members.  A lot of their DT votes have come from member with negative trust who are attempting to kick Lauda off of the DT1 list.

IconFirm is trusted by DT2 memeber tvplus006, who is trusted by DT1 member lovesmayfamilis.

I've noticed the DT1 members (three of them) who've voted for lovesmayfamilis have a lot of votes from members with negative trust.  A lot of their DT votes are a result of the Anti Lauda movement.

And just btw isnt Thermos selling copper accounts officially?

Theymos is not selling copper accounts, he's selling copper upgrades.  Any account can buy the upgrade.

@shasan

Not my problem...

I think you keep misinterpreting shasan.  He's sticking up for you.  Any newbie can browse the forum's accounts until he finds one he would like to "sell," take a screenshot of it, modify hit to his liking, and pretend that he has a high-ranking account for sale.  I think this is what happened to your account.

The only involvement you have (that I know of) is that it seems a screen shot of your profile was used for this attempted scam.  Nobody is blaming you for that.  I believe shasan agrees with me.
