4781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LAUNCHED][POW]⚡ELECTRONEUM⚡Official Moderated Thread on: April 11, 2018, 05:55:41 AM
Waw! Electroneum Kudos for this recent update now i can see my old LG g3 mining up to 10 etn a day with a high Hash rate if 30.76h/s, before i couldn't mine 1etn for whole day with same device, whatever it was you did to make this transformation is really impressive,  the mobile mining now is alot better than previously, only just the price of etn is not able to move up like other tokens from time to time, but more time to grow.

How is hash rate even calculated if you're not using CPU power? I would like to know how this mobile "mining" thing actually works.

They just benchmark your phone and according your hardware specifications you get a certain reward in a given time - "hash rate". No mining involved in the real meaning. Well, I don't really see the point of getting rewarded for nothing, but this is their strategy. At least you are not killing your battery/phone by doing this so called "mining".
4782  Other / Meta / Re: [BUG] Insert quote button is missing on: April 10, 2018, 07:54:07 PM
As I said earlier, have you tried from another browser? Maybe from a mobile. Was this link there before and suddenly disappeared?
I've been using this option for quite some time and never experienced something like this. Well, I'm not on Mac,tho.

4783  Other / Meta / Re: [BUG] Insert quote button is missing on: April 10, 2018, 07:13:07 PM
Just tried it too. No problem at all.
Try to do the same from another browser or on the mobile. I've tested both, mobile and Chrome, no issues found.
4784  Other / Meta / Re: Who is able and willing to moderate the Politics & Society section? on: April 10, 2018, 08:41:19 AM
I can see myself in the list.
I'm willing to help but I guess I'm not ready for moderator since I'm rather new here. What I can offer is to monitor the section more often and report.
At the moment I'm more after the ICO Pumpers.
Those 3 hits are from the patrol I'm monitoring from time to time. Smiley

This may look a Joke but, is a Member qualified to be a Moderator? Or is it even possible though, I want to try this. Smiley

I think we should probably be looking at more established members, though if you had hundreds of reports in there it might be a different case. If you want to be a mod then keep reporting and put in the work to show you would be beneficial as staff.

Well I have more than 700 reports with 100% but I still don't feel like I'll be accepted if I apply. This is just my observation, maybe I'm wrong.

Looks like it's back to normal now, except it's promoting BCH Sad

In any case, I'd love to hear a public explanation from @twittersupport about why #bitcoin competitor #LightningNetwork investor @jack disabled this account, gave it to someone else, only to return it in the face of public backlash with 750,000 fewer followers. #censorship
4786  Other / Meta / Re: sr.member, hero, legendary show an example in earnings of these merits on: April 09, 2018, 05:34:42 PM
I was a member when the Merit system came. Now I'm Full Member and only 101 merit away from the Sr. Member, of course I need the activity too which will take a few months, but it's just a matter of time.

I'm not in hurry, I do not support my family by joining sig. campaigns, you know I have a real good, well paid job. I bought some bitcoin, some time ago and planning to HOLD, and be part of it.

Here I'm mostly for learning and helping the other along the way. If I join any campaigns it's gonna be mostly for use the money for gambling (dice)/ damn its addictive/, so my main point is not to earn money here but to enjoy my time spent here.

Bitcoin is something big, and it will explode in the near future and it will pass the point of no return, just like the Internet did, so enjoy the ride and learn.

I do not have merit, but when I have if someone posted useful information I am ready for them, but first you can show me how to merit merit to others.
And this is what I did.

4788  Other / Meta / Re: List of Accounts which Needs a Ban [ICO pumping accounts] on: April 08, 2018, 11:19:22 PM
Reposting from here

Please, let me know if you find a  proper way yo report the ANNs. I asked several times but no success til now.

Most of the accounts are made with the purpose to bump only once one or a few ANNs and then they are abandoned, most likely a bot job.
4789  Other / Serious discussion / @Bitcoin Twitter account was deleted and was recently registered again by turk. on: April 08, 2018, 02:25:43 PM
So, looks like the official @bitcoin account was deleted and someone has just resisted it again.
Looks like a noob to me but he's gonna make some money for sure.

4790  Other / Meta / Re: New here! A lot of weird shit... on: April 08, 2018, 09:14:47 AM
I wrote it many times but I'll say it again, it's hard for a newbie to get oriented in this forum.
It's not like the other forums people are used to. You need to spend sometime reading and digging.
To not repeat myself I'll just quote one of my comments.
Hope this helps, check also the Compenhasive guide link my signature, it's a good start point.
Good luck.

~snip~

Some of you are asking for tips or how I did it. I was a bit surprised when I joined here. It took me quite some time only to get oriented in the forum structure. Asking for help, got couple of posts deleted as spam and then I started reading. I learns about the bounties /did't knew when I joined/ and got involved in a scam project. Learned my lesson and moved on. Been reading a lot only to get to know the system in the forum. Then you meet some hero/legendary commenting around and it start to be more interesting.

As you go deeper also in the history and you find satoshi, Hal Finney, Gavin and many other founders /reading a lot/, and you see the forum is just one big family, DTs (DT1 and DT2) gather in camps and fighting in between, some accusing others of being scammers, pedophiles, being on pills, some extortion attempts or some sort of this, everyone keeping their interests, it is really colorful here / especially reading nullius posts, damn he has sense of humor and quite some knowledge/. Then you see the other side, the quite shitposters gathering activity in the dark corners of the forum /the off-topic and the bounties, quoting every week report just to provide better life for their families, sir/. They are just silent participants in the ICO generator machine spitting new and new useless coins and tokens /well,some can be useful for sure but this is very rare/ unaware of the merit system, they pop-up from time to time in the Meta with their broken English(*) to ask why they are still Jr after they reach the activity, and finally how the merit system broke their life.

Then you start understanding how everything is working here, you start find things which you think are not right, missing or just not logical. You ask why this has to be like this, and how to make things better, is there any way for me to help to improve this ecosystem here? How can I help with what I do? Then you reach the point of being a member in the real meaning, a member of this crazy family. The merit will come eventually.

This is what I have been trough for those :
Code:
Total time logged in: 17 days, 15 hours and 12 minutes.
And I don't regret a single second that I spent with you guys.

Ups,I’m afraid I got carried away! (*) Apologies for my English tho, I'm just an NNES.
4791  Other / Archival / Re: merit to work off bitcointalk on: April 07, 2018, 09:47:39 PM
Interesting how all those "informative" Merit threads are created by people wearing paid signatures.
99% of all the threads with "Merit" in the subject are created in a hope to collect merit, well this is not the way.
Stay away from chasing the merit and you'll have a better chance to get some.
4792  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you load an Electrum wallet? on: April 07, 2018, 09:28:08 PM
How do you load an Electrum wallet?
I think you can download ETN Wallet here: https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/desktop/windows/electrum/

Just to make it clear, ETN a.k.a. Electroneum is cryptocurrency and it have its own ENT wallet but Electrum is a bitcoin wallet.
So ETN ≠ Electrum.

4793  Other / Meta / Re: Cool down time for reporting posts to be reduced. on: April 07, 2018, 03:31:02 PM
4 second cool down is pretty standard I still run into it from time to time, but ... ~snip~.

Are you running into this issue often? Maybe theymnos should reduce the time for members and above. Alternatively when you're reporting lots of people like this just report one and leave a note that there's plenty of others after it that need removing. Some other restrictions should probably be put into place to stop those (likely bot spammer shills because it's a colossal waste of time dealing with them.
I've actually asked this question in the past and it seems some moderators prefer you do it this way and then others prefer you report all the messages individually. I guess if you are running into cool down times it's beneficial to just report one and include a note that there's more.

For me 4 seconds are OK, I was white listed before and I ranked up two weeks ago and I just wanted to mention that if you was white listed before you just loose this privilege.

Regarding the reporting to mods every mod has different way of dealing with them. I got advice from mprep to make a list and report them from time to time.

I tried also writing in the report that the user ot the threat has to be reviewed but I got the reporting accuracy declined, idk if that was the reason but never happen again afterwards.

You could do other things in that 11 seconds of your waiting time, like, open 2 windows of your browser, 1 for reporting and 1 for browsing through the forum (or maybe 1 for editing your thread because you find more of rulebreakers). 4 seconds cooldown for legendary ranks is already a standard i guess, like Welsh said.

I really want to do this "report to moderator" activity sometimes and help the forum, but time doesnt let me to do it in near time, hope i can join this activity too.

I try to report some every day. Checking the patrol from time to time, but really something has to be done with the ico pumpers and and the bots, it's horrible, also the confirmation email has to be implemented just to make their work harder, now it's too easy.
4794  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: April 06, 2018, 02:31:02 PM
Well I experienced the same with my SegWit address. Seems like you cannot verify messages signed with SegWit online, you can do in only in your wallet.
Found this discussion on the subject >

4795  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: About possibility to Sign messages in Segwit address in future on: April 06, 2018, 02:29:50 PM
Yesterday I added my signed message to the Tomatocage's thread for stacking bitcoin addresses, but then I realize that I cannot verify it online, only in my wallet, and deleted my post. No point to post it if it cannot be verified online.
So thankfully found this thread and I know why. Almost no info in Google tho.
Seems that the SegWit addresses cannot be used to sing messages at the moment, even if you have this feature in the wallet.
I guess I have to create a normal address only to verify my account here.
4796  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there anyone know, how mining with Nvidia GTW 950M effective on: April 06, 2018, 10:53:21 AM
Do you really want to kill your laptop? I do not suggest mining on mobile cards due to the lack of good cooling.

If you really want to try mining ETN, make it simple :

This is what I would do.
Use this pool etn.spacepools.org
Download ccminer

Follow the instructions on the pool website to configure your card and go.

Let me know if you need more detailed instructions or check this thread :

Good luck Wink

The first what you should do is to read this :

and to get more oriented read this :

Read before you post anything else, it is that simple Wink

4798  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit Point? on: April 06, 2018, 09:45:24 AM
Now I am at Jr. Part level with zero legitimacy point. What number of Merit indicates do I have get keeping in mind the end goal to archive part level?  Huh

Man, I know my English is not so good but hey, your comment looks almost like my last generated seed:D
Seriously, you can't get merit with this kind of writing for sure. Try maybe your local board, looks like you have better chance there.
The best thing you can do is just follow what it says in your personal text, this is your best choice I think.

Interesting, after I rank up, came back to the same issue, this time like LoyceV, 4 seconds between reports.
I guess the white listing is working only on the current rank, if you rank up, you go back to the default settings for the new rank.
I thought that the Legendary rank should have lower cool down time than the Full Member but looks like they have the same.
