Since block rewards are customizable, why are dev's not coding them to reward only 1 coin per block for the first 24 hours? This would solve many of the issues plaguing alt coin releases:
1) This gives all pools enough time to setup 2) this gives miners enough time to make sure they can connect to the pool 2a) It also gives them an opportunity to make sure payouts are working 3) People can solo mine as well since the block only rewards 1 coin. No worry about windows qt not being available right away 4) Easy to tell that there was no premine, no more shenanigans
Anyone else have thoughts on this? I'm not a programmer so I can't say for sure that this is possible.

So this is what it's like to go to the moon? Unimpressed.

Assuming no undervolting, here are some rough estimates:
R9 270 Reg - 4:1 Hash/watt ratio (400-450khs / 100-120w).
R9 290 Reg - 3:1 Hash/watt ratio (900khs / 300w) //needs to break 900khs
R9 280x (7970) - 3:1 Hash/watt ratio (750khs / 250w) //could be slightly worse, 7970s have been known to hit 300w
HD7950 - 3.5:1 Hash/watt ratio (650khs / 200w) //not all 7950s do 650khs @ stock speeds.
Keep in mind total system power per hk/w. Let's assume 4 cards per rig: R9 270: 4 x 425kh/s = 1700kh/s 4 x 110w = 440w Avg of about ~200w for the rest of the system 2.75kh/watt R9 290: 4 x 900kh/s = 3200kh/s 4 x 300w = 1200w Avg of about ~200w for the rest of the system 2.66kh/watt Now to get the same amount of hashing power using R9 270's you'd have to build 2 rigs which would be far more expensive as far as hardware costs, space and heat. Better to pony up for the more expensive cards and save yourself the trouble later.

This thread is officially a train wreck. It needs locking and shutting down. All the fun, excitement and speculation that was here only a week ago has vanished due to dicks posting repeatedly for their own benefit with zero contribution to a discussion of any kind. good luck to those that continue in this cesspit; im off elsewhere.
This. There is too much pool spam and no discussion on the coin itself anymore. Newbies are only going to look at the first and last few pages of post to determine if they like a coin or not. Would you invest in Doge if you had only read the last 5 pages? Mods need to bring down the ban-hammer and get some sort of order in the tread again because at this point, Doge is going to die of embarrassment more than anything else.

I am also interested, but is it just a "send BTC and trust me" thing? Are you planning to set this up in a legal contract? How are you going to handle disputes? What if they dont deliver? What if it takes them 2 years to finally get it working correctly? With the history of cryptos and ASIC production, this is a really risky gamble. I may join up once I hear more, but atm its just too much to loose A legal contract will be in place. As for disputes, I make the ultimate decision as I will own 50% of each rig. Yes "trust me" thing is in place. But you can visit the facility and meet me (southern cali) if you wish. As for delivery of Alpha-T, it is out of my control. Refunds can be voted on an approved in which the refund will correlate with the amount Alpha-T refunds. As with any new ASIC, there is risk involved. Hence caution, as you are trusting a brand new company. Just curious but does 50% equal a controlling stake. Shouldn't it be 51% or higher ? Between two people, yes. However, this is between 5 people per machine so he has the majority.

am I missing something here, or was there never a 'total earthcoins produced' number stated?
How many are to be produced total, and how many are currently in circulation?
It's right in the first post below the info-graphic: - Total coins will be 13.5 billion coins

There is no need to worry about the hash rate in cipherpool. If it shows 0.6 kh/s, it probably is 600 kh/s. You can confirm it from your earnings. This is a small bug and need not be worried about. I had faced similar problem in other cipherpools and have not been affected at all.
Cipherpool.com dashboard shows me 1/4 of my actual hashing rate. As far as I can tell it's paying out as it should.
