481  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] IOS - Signature & Avatar Campaign | Up to $150/week in BTC & Tokens! on: May 08, 2018, 03:59:02 PM
Is there any person to contact to aside from Madz regarding the update whether the campaign will continue or if when are we gonna receive the pay for the 4th week? Madz was online yesterday, I just wonder why he hasn't give us any updates on whether we continue with this campaign or even receive our pay. We've all been waiting patiently but this time is different since this is the final week and he left us hanging. I mean no harm with this post just trying to clarify some things.
482  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] IOS - Signature & Avatar Campaign | Up to $150/week in BTC & Tokens! on: May 08, 2018, 03:12:37 AM
Looks like he is the worst signature manager on this forum.

Every week he is delaying payment even though he got funds in his account. I will open up a reputation thread and ask someone to tag his account so that in future people will not take his service.

If he is busy at least should inform members when he is going to count the post and pay. Its been already few days but no response to members queries.

What are you talking about dude! Please pay some respect to one of the trusted and dedicated managers in here. No need to create flames.

The tone of his voice is actually that of someone suffering from impatient or someone expecting too much from another, so he must one of the promoters of this campaign, but because he knows that even his conscience would condemn him, he had gone to wear a mask by way of his alt account.

I concur with you that maybe he's part of the campaign or do have some personal grudge against CM! There's no need to exhibit disrespectful post for the manager despite the delay for he has his own reasons and we need to respect him as a manager of this campaign.

Let's stop hate, spread love and just be patient. We will receive our pay soon! Smiley
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can the ICO scams be identified? on: May 07, 2018, 10:19:41 AM
Dear All!

As many of us are aware the fact that there are many scams fooling and cheating people of their money under the disguise of ICOs,it would be really useful if your thoughts can be shared for all to be cautious of.
Please be kind enough to comment your ideas!
Thank you!

It's really hard to tell whether an ICO will scam you or not but there are some certain measures that you should be doing before investing in an ICO. For you to be able to know about the project you should read the whitepaper for you to understand the nature of the project whether it is realistic or not. It is also very important to know the people behind working with the project. You need to research as well of the possible affiliates that this project have to back them up for their development. Make sure that the project will also address a certain problem that most tokens or coins wasn't able to deliver for it to be useful and have value when its launched to the public and always follow your gut feeling and intuition almost all of the time it's correct when your in doubt about investing into a scammy project.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will this market collapse in May 2018 on: May 07, 2018, 09:13:38 AM
Is a market collapse in May 2018 imminent!

I hope not but Bitcoins drop from approx 9950 USD to approx 9350 USD (depends on what exchange you use) took everyone by surprise
In my opinion BTC is losing dominance and does not have the momentum to break these levels (10K)
People are buying ALTS instead of BTC because they think that larger gains are possible.
Bitcoin still drives the market at the moment.
If Bitcoin suffers so do the ALTS

IF

ETH can gain more dominance along with some other ALTS the market trend will not be driven by Bitcoin

Therefore I believe we are at a junction where the market decides what they want making for an extremely volatile time.

If Bitcoin takes a dive to 9K now it could trigger a market collapse

Chart analyst do not take into consideration the psychology of the market participants and over 95% of them did not see this drop to 9300 USD: A lot of them bought in at 9950 USD and got burnt and are now facing a situation where the market could go into freefall if 9K is breached.

This is a theory and I HOPE I AM WRONG

It won't don't worry. As we all know bitcoin is one of the best innovations together with blockchain. There are lot's of supporters and brilliant people that truly believes in its technology so even if the value of bitcoin will fall lower than what you said which is $9k market won't collapse. Those are just speculations and no proven facts that could back it up so lets just sit back and relax for I'm so certain that by the end of the year all crypto values will skyrocket and history will surely repeats itself and that is already the trend for cryptos. I hope I'm not wrong but that's what we all wanted so don't be an emotional investor just diversify and if your coin's value goes into a dip better look at it as an opportunity to buy some more and invest some more for you will surely profit if your holding it long term.

any updates about the payment for the 4th week?
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto will be mainstream in a few years on: May 06, 2018, 04:58:14 PM
Since now smart money is in, they will make us need crypto currencies in the future.

So you can HODL! And you will have a nice life. Enjoy!!

Yes and its value will surely rise but there are still some people that prefers FIAT cos its tangible and less hassle. There are lots of skeptics when it comes to digital currency specially bitcoin has been used it lots of scam schemes. Only open minded individuals that is interested to change and innovations will be adapting cryptocurrency since they know the benefits and advantages that it will bring to their life not just for convenience when purchasing online and transferring money without paying any cross border fees but as also an investment vehicle that could potentially give profits over time.

You know, one could almost attribute all of the recent market success on this very signature campaign...

The coin did rally hard right when the campaign started...
Might be in everyones best interest to continue - even expand  Wink

I concur. IOST is performing quite very well since the campaign started. Just hoping that the campaign will continue. As of now waiting for CM to update all of us.
488  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] IOS - Signature & Avatar Campaign | Up to $150/week in BTC & Tokens! on: May 06, 2018, 02:13:26 AM
Hi CM! any updates whether the campaign be extended?
489  Economy / Economics / Re: Making crypto succeed in the real world? on: May 05, 2018, 03:06:20 AM
Hi, I would love to hear your input on this.

As I see it, we need crypto wallets installed on every phone possible to ensure the readiness of everyday payment with crypto assets. Once customers are ready to pay, the stores will follow.

At least three things needs to happen:

1) Adoption of crypto wallets needs to increase (preferable with pre-funded assets)
2) Each wallet provider needs to agree on a standard protocol for payment (Maybe Payment Request API (W3))?
3) Store owners need a merchant app to receive payment with further integration into multiple accounting systems.

Have you seen anyone doing this?
Do we need a wallet alliance that can stipulate a standard?
What else needs to happen besides regulation?

Best crypto greetings,
Vindberg
https://validators.com

I can't wait for this to happen. The convenience and ease on purchasing just by using our smart phones but there are some downsides when it comes to transaction speed and could possibly be charged of high transaction fees. Hoping that there's a real crypto that will be able to function and deliver as a currency not just a store of value or investment vehicle.
I know lots of innovations are still coming to try to perfect or correct the flaws of bitcoin as a currency so let's just wait patiently for that moment to come and enjoy its advantages and comfort that it come bring to all of us consumers.

I hope I make the cut, because every day that I do decide to post, a lot of my posts seem to get deleted. I always fulfill the bounty request, but this week it may seem short because some of my posts were deleted again. I know I have posted more than the 25 required posts, I even screenshoted the post count just in case.
Is anyone else facing this problem of posts being deleted? This count could effect bounty participation.
 Huh

You are not alone. Some of my posts were deleted as well. I even posted almost 30 posts just to make sure that I'll reach the minimum requirement.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Coinbase First to Respond to New York Attorney Generals Probing on: May 04, 2018, 01:23:19 PM
“We have established a cybersecurity program and related policies and training, conduct periodic penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, and undertake security risk assessments among myriad other operational and technical safeguards.  We operate an active bug bounty program to pay third-party developers for vulnerability tips.  We will continue to invest aggressively in industry-leading technology and practices to secure customers’ data and virtual currency assets, even as our investment and commitment to security go far beyond what the law requires.” - Coinbase

We all know that there are lots of exchanges that were hacked recently. Millions of dollars lost in the hands of those cyber criminals. To ensure the security of the investors' funds in exchanges they need to make sure that no one can infiltrate their database and possibly hack the system together with the money.

Do you think Coinbase won't be infiltrated by any hacker nowadays since they are doing their best to prevent that from happening? Is giving bounty to whoever finds a loophole to their system an effective way?
492  Economy / Economics / Re: One of the biggest challenges that we will encounter in Bitcoin on: May 04, 2018, 12:52:57 PM
One of the biggest challenges that we will encounter in Bitcoin is the Scalability problem which means there is only limited amount of information that can be contained or its capacity. I'm sure that there will be more people who will going to join the campaign which will result to a possible delay during processing or trading. So how can we provide a solution on this or how to ensure that all the trading done were saved once delayed before bitcoin achieves mainstream adoption?

If scalability won't be fixed then its not a problem since I'm quite positive that bitcoin will never be used as a currency. People who knew about the technology will never use bitcoin as a currency instead use FIAT or use another crypto to do transactions online that is more convenient. We do have lots of choices when doing online transactions that is why other modes of payments will coexist with cryptocurrency for more options if one fails to deliver.

Sooner or later there will be new cryptos that will address this problem of scalability so no need to worry about bitcoin's flaws for it will remain an investment vehicle and a store of value.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Existing coins or ICOs? Where will you invest? on: May 04, 2018, 03:37:16 AM
Which one will you prefer or best to invest? Coins with high rates like bitcoin, BCH, ETH and etc or coins with cheap rated below $1 or in ICO token?

I find its worth investing 70 percent of my capital into ICOs which do have good projects and good teams as well. And invest the rest 30 percentage in top listed coins which are high in rates.

What will you advice?

I'm not an expert when it comes to predicting prices in the future. We can't really tell when will a particular coin will increase or decrease its value but as what I've noticed right now IOST is really performing well during the past few weeks that I'm in the campaign. I highly suggest that you should hold some of this token for future profit. If you try to look at the chart few days or weeks back you will see a very strong performance of the IOST and still increasing its value.

I think that this token will skyrocket by the end of the year, more likely to go around $2-$3 or more. It's just my own opinion though since I've been monitoring the trend of this token's value. It's not just the value of this token but also the project that it can deliver to the people is so awesome.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is ICO period long? on: May 04, 2018, 03:24:14 AM
This is a question I ask myself all the time that why do so many ICOs usually take so long period of time before they are  finally over. Some ICOs could go for long period of time as long as 6 months and 7 months thereabout. Does it mean the longer the period of ICO the better the rewards? Does that long period of time really mean I will have better profits either as a bounty hunter or an investor? I need some clarification and probably some  advise as a newbie to ICO bounty.

In every project there is a target fund to be accumulated. ICO is done to attract investors and gain funds which is used for the development of the project as well as advertise and involve the community with the project to gain its popularity to the masses. Token is given in exchange of the money you invested so you can get back your investment or might as well double it.

The reason most ICOs take longer time to be done since their goal hasn't been reached yet or they wanted more people to know about their company and the project that they are trying to develop.

In creating a token or a cryptocurrency there are lots of things to consider before ending the ICO that is why some of them takes too long to end the ICO specially if lots of people are coming everyday to be part of the community that would support their project. The more people that will adopt and support the project the higher its value in the market when its launched or even listed in most exchanges.

It really depends if there are lots of people adopting and supporting the coin then you will get better profits.
495  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we detect economic cycles with bitcoin? on: May 04, 2018, 03:17:03 AM
In traditional trading, with many years of statistics, economic cycles are detected that are repeated annually. There are good months to buy and others to sell, and traditionally there are times when the stock market rises and others when it goes down. Many of these cycles are determined by known events, at Christmas sales go up, in summer investors sell, at the end of the year investment funds regularize their positions, etc. and the stock Exchange reflects those movements.

Do you think we can establish economic cycles with Bitcoin?

Bitcoin has suffered a 53% collapse since the beginning of the year. Apparently it's because the time is coming for US citizens and businesses to report to the federal tax agency. The proximity of the so-called 'Tax Day', or last day to fulfill its tax obligations, takes place this year on April 17. As the date has approached, the concentration of sales orders has been higher, especially in the last month and a half.
If we analyze the Bitcoin chart from the beginning of the year, we see that it has been bearish until April, and it is only afterwards that it has begun its recovery.

Can we deduce a pattern to be repeated each year, and take advantage of it?

I know its so hard to detect such patterns of fluctuations when it comes to bitcoin and other crypto since its value is very volatile but as we can see clearly that every 4th quarter of the year, bitcoin's value will show uptrend pattern. If you would go back to previous years, there's no assurance but the pattern approaching to the month of December, bitcoin's value will really go uptrend as well as the other coins. I strongly believe that this year, history will repeat itself since the lightning network was developed their are lots of positive things about bitcoin now and there are still so much developments that can happen about the technology until the end of the year. We will just sit back and relax wait for the moment til we reach the end of the year and try to see if every end of the year bitcoin and altcoins will truly perform and increase their value in the market.

496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Telegram Cancels ICO After Raising Nearly $2 Billion in Private Money on: May 03, 2018, 09:02:11 AM
ICO isn’t needed after raising $1.8 billion in private funds
Telegram Group Inc. announced that it is ending plans for public fund raising since it has raised so much money from private investment. Originally the startup messaging service created by Russian brothers Pavel and Nikolai Durov planned to launch their public ICO for the gram coin in order to fund their Telegram Open Network (TON) but since they took in almost $2 billion in two rounds of private funding the ICO has been scrapped.

As was reported in the Wall Street Journal Telegram’s initial plans were to raise $1.2 billion dollars to build their TON network evenly split between private and public rounds of fundraising. After it raised a reported $850 million in its first round of private investment in February and then matched that number in another private round in March they decided to cancel the public funding round.

An unnamed source told the WSJ that it was because the regulatory environment had changed over that time period. That is the SEC has begun to focus on ICO’s which in this case could bring scrutiny onto company executives. Private fundraising isn’t subject to the same rigorous examination as a public round would be.

Money Will be Used to Expand the TON
Telegram has released a 23-page description of it’s updated plans since their private investment rounds. In it, they describe building out the technology for the TON network as well as further development and maintenance of its main messenger service. In addition the plans mention a “Visa/Mastercard alternative for a new decentralized economy,” to be based on their blockchain network.

Telegram has argued that current cryptocurrencies in the form of Bitcoin and Ether haven’t attracted a mass market due to structural flaws but with their access to such a large user base, they will be able to bring the new technology to a broader market.

Pavel Durov is the well-known face of Telegram who started the Russian equivalent of Facebook, VKontakte, which he sold in 2013 in order to start Telegram. Since then Telegram has gained over 200 million users and some controversy as well. Described as the messaging platform for criminals by some detractors because of its inherent encryption, Telegram is banned in the brother’s home country of Russia.

When the Russian government recently blocked 18 million IP addresses in the country in hopes of blocking the messaging service, Durov encouraged users to toss the companies signature paper airplanes out of their windows.

Awesome innovation to be an alternative to VISA/Mastercard in cryptoworld. The public will surely adopt to this project easily cos it can give convenience to all of us. I'll be looking forward for this project to fully function and deliver what bitcoin can't specially in terms of transaction fees and speed.

Will this innovation surpass bitcoin as one of the most valuable coin in the crypto market? Given the fact that Telegram has so many users all over the world and they do have a very awesome marketing strategy.

Add your vote for price direction. Are KYC procedure good or bad for crypto to crypto ?

This is a very good news to those people supporting this project. I'll be expecting a sudden spike on the token's price soon. When it comes to KYC, each and everyone of us do have different opinions and understanding of that process specially when it comes to invasion of our privacy but exchanges and trading platforms wanted as well to run the business legitimately by abiding certain laws to prevent any possible complications with the government in the future.

In my own opinion, as long as I'm not doing any illegal trades using crypto I don't have any qualms but rather feel more secure if the platform I'm in is letting me undergo KYC for my own security I don't have any problems about it.

We all know that bitcoin in the first place was really invented for anonymity and security when transacting online but there are also possibilities of illegal trades or money laundering that can happen if its totally anonymous so that's why bitcoin nowadays is already considered pseudo anonymous because of the regulations that some exchanges or almost all of the trading platforms implemented due to government regulations.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Can Be Done To Make Government Legalize Bitcoin on: May 02, 2018, 04:09:51 PM
Is no longer news that various countries of the world are not in support of Bitcoin either as a means of payments or for trading purpose. This are been a challenges most Bitcoin users are facing throughout the countries of the world inexception of few countries.

I have begin to see it that maybe they are thinking that adoptions of Bitcoin might bring a partial collapse of the banking system and also a means of curbing money laundering.
So, let hear your views on what can be done to make our government realised the important of Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology.

Sooner or later cryptocurrency will be legalized worldwide. We are moving forward with technology and cryptocurrency specially bitcoin as the first one is the most promising innovation together with the blockchain technology that the society or even government will acknowledge and adopt to it. Some people that is in the government doesn't have lots of information or knowledge about the advantages of those innovations. Instead of focusing on the negative side of bitcoin, why not think or try to look at the bright side of it? Bitcoin and blockchain has still lot to offer in the future and I do believe that it will be used worldwide few years from now.

The major and the mosr crucial reason because of which many countries are stepping back in legitimizing or legalizing bitcoin transaction, and even talks about banning it is the fact that their is no institutional or authoritive backing behind bitcoin. What if something tremendously wrong happens in the bitcoin world and citizens lose huge amount of funds, who is responsible? Whom shall we complain? Is there any backing or authority against which we can protest? Or atleast ask help with?

This anonimity of bitcoin is making is risky for governments to openly allow its citizens to vest their income into it. Its not only about decentralized thing and that government is doing this because its not being able to control bitcoin, its not like that. Even if bitcoin was, being equally popular as now, backed by some private company, the governments wouldnt have any problem with it.

So the matter of fact is that we at ground level cannot do much except for bring about more and more trust over bitcoin in the market, and may be by seeing huge user base and trust, government might consider legitimising  bitcoin transactions.

Bitcoin is pseudo anonymous so the government shouldn't worry about bitcoin being used in illegal transactions since it can be traced. That is why most of the exchanges nowadays are requiring us to do KYC cos that's what the government want for them to regulate taxes and execute proper laws to those people who are trying to use bitcoin in illegal means.

maybe many establishments are going down because of it's newest technology that it can offer to people

If you're referring to banks and other companies catering modes of payment online I don't agree with you that they'll gonna go down since bitcoin as we all know has higher fees and sometimes the transactions are too slow to confirm. They'll just coexist cos they offer different fees and laws depending on what country you are.

I didn't get payment IOST on this week, can you tell me why?

The sending of IOST payments was divided into 2 batches to avoid rejection of transactions just like the previous week. We just have to wait patiently, we can surely receive our pay anytime soon.

You can try to back read to previous posts so you can read the full details of what Madz posted regarding the IOST payments.
