481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Whitepaper determined credibility of an ICO on: August 18, 2018, 03:36:09 PM
An intending cryptocurrency investors recently approached me for my input in an ICO he intend invest on. And one of my advised to him his to read through the whitepaper of the ICO to determined how credibly and successful the ICO will be.
He then, ask me how sure I am that a well written whitepaper will determined how credibly, trusted and successful an ICO will be.
I couldn't give a clear answer to the question, because I personal know that so many scam ICO have a good and well detail whitepaper.

What's your take on the ICO whitepaper, can the information therein be enough to determine how successful an ICO will be.

Whitepaper is important but it's not the only thing that you should look for. Team is much more important than whitepaper along with marketing department and sponsors.
482  Economy / Economics / Re: When will smartphones used for bitcoin mining? on: August 17, 2018, 01:52:55 PM
As we all know that smartphones are just like computer nowadays that has strong storage capacity and processor. This I think could be enable to mine bitcoin and this is what I am waiting for if there are any smartphones company that would offer their smartphones for bitcoin mining or even as a smartphone that works as digital hardware wallet for bitcoin and other crypto. I am waiting for it to happen. Do you think that it will happen?

there has been few attempts to make coins that can be mined with your smartphone but none of them have been very successful. Smartphone companies are stuck at making bigger camera but with the help of quantum chips we will be able to see more advanced smartphones within few years. I think that's when crypto mining will shift to smartphones and you can mine everything with your smartphone without destroying its hardware.
483  Economy / Economics / Re: The new world currency in 2018? on: August 16, 2018, 12:53:43 PM
That's a really wrong prediction.I duess that people back in 1988 were predicting that somewhere around 2018,people will travel around space and populate Mars, etc. It's just bullshit. The technical progress just isn't that fast. The is a global currency. It's calles US dollar. No cryptocurrency has the strenght to change the US dollar status quo.

lol yeah. They predicted we would have flying cars by now but all we got was self driving ubers  Smiley. I think that Rotschild prediction was based on globalist agenda but that has been derailed so I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon. They don't have as much as power as they did in the past.
484  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency Market Could Hit $1 Trillion This Year on: August 16, 2018, 12:46:21 PM
That would be 5 times of the current marketcap and looking at the market condition right now and the fact that there's only less than half year to do that it's almost impossible to achieve. The last bullrun didn't even manage to reach that high with all the hype in media etc and now that a lot of people got burned because of the crash it's really hard to bring new money to the market unless something really great happen.

that is correct. It would be 5 times of the current marketcap and if you look at the red show we're dealing with situation looks bleak to make it to trillion dollars market cap within this year. I don't think it can't happen but it would be miracle if it happens this year. Where would the money come from?
485  Economy / Economics / Re: FBI warns of imminent mass attack on world’s ATMs on: August 16, 2018, 12:42:12 PM
I have heard similar news in the past but things go by and nothing happens except in some cases. Only people who would panic are those who have millions in the bank, average family has less than $5k in savings and they're worry free for the most part.
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Neo will hit 200$ again? on: August 15, 2018, 01:52:12 PM
hello guys

you think Neo will hit 200$ again?

or it will be dead ?

this isn't the right time to ask such question. lol. but may be it is possible in the near future. Going from $16 to $200 is a big jump and it would require time and patience for those who are holding neo.
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: God save Crypto on: August 14, 2018, 04:03:52 PM
How would you explain the current fall in price of cryptos.
There are no news of crypto banning or confiscation. So what is the reason for it?
Did we wanted more than we needed?
Is our greed killing crypto and blockchain technology in whole?

Current price is a result of people moving crypto from one coin to another. I don't think it is a result of big dumping. It's difficult to say but I don't think all hell broke lose yet. God has given you free will to invest or not invest. its your choice.
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If your coin increased 40% - 200% in value over night. What would you do? on: August 14, 2018, 03:49:10 PM
Do you continue hodling or sell? A lot of people say to hold no matter what happens and I'm not advocating daytrading but I think in a situation like this, it'd be advantageous to sell.

Thoughts? What would you do?

Its dependent on a lot of things. How many tokens are you holding? I would say it would be sane to hold some and sell some just to be on the safe side. You don't wanna have regret if it goes 500% and you sold at 40%. always diverse. never sell all. never buy all
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: We have to bring more money into the market on: August 12, 2018, 07:25:53 AM
They are playing us.  Why would they want things to be decentralized?   They are saying they are going to invest, to get people to go long on the market, while they make a ton on shorting it.  It seems about 70 billion has left the market in the last two weeks, all the time when the media was hyping about Wall Street money coming in.

We have to bring more money in, just like in the beginning.

If they pass etfs that would bring a lot of money in the market but as of right now it doesn't seem too good but nothing is happening and I wouldn't be too concerned about it. wait till we have another buyers run and it's coming. what goes down must go up.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Is going to hit 200 USD? on: August 12, 2018, 07:15:38 AM
What's happening with Ethereum? The most promising coins becoming garbage! Yes, we know the bearish market has come again, but ETH in 330 USD?! It is unbelievable. People told that In August, the crypto bull market will start and now we are seeing the bearish market ever in 2018! I can't believe ETH is now 330 USD. What about you guys?

that depends on the market and bitcoin price in coming weeks. It can go to $200 and even $100 but I don't think it will. I see bitcoin bottom would be around $4k that means ETH would bottom at $270
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Punishment for ICO scams! on: August 10, 2018, 12:35:37 PM
Hi, everybody. Faced with a lot of fraudulent projects that collected money and quietly left. What sanctions and penalties are applied to them? If you know something, tell us, many will be very interesting to hear)

I think government is realizing the dangerous of ico for their citizens and they will be putting in ico regulation of some kind in the near future. until then you have to just wait and stay away if you feel it's too risky for you.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Suffers, Ripple Drops 5% as Crypto Market Continues Downward Trend on: August 10, 2018, 12:24:27 PM
Well, you just copy and pasted an article, not really something to applaud.

But the article does point out some good things so I'll throw in my 2 cents.
It is important to realize that it isn't necessarily lack of confidence that is keeping the crypto market low and sluggish.
It is  trading volume.

What this means in reality, is that not that much new money is coming in and those that are already in are just hodling.
The ironic thing about hodlers, is that they are actually making their situation worse.
They are contributing to low volume and keeping the price of their own investment low.
Of course, I understand that nobody wants to sell for a loss, but you can investment more you know.

It's almost as if everyone is just waiting for something to happen to make everything take off.
when btc pumped a bit a couple weeks ago, people were excited but didn't back it up with trading.
The result? It falls back down.

Precisely. This isn't any more than people shifting back to alt after they saw btc got stuck at specific level. There is very little new money coming in the market but I don't think much of it is going out either as most people are holding and waiting for the right time.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fake news makes the market better? on: August 09, 2018, 02:00:40 PM
In the past few days I have heard that Starbucks will accept bitcoin to pay for coffee. This makes people feel excited and start to see the potential of the cryptographic market. But Starbucks insisted that this never happened.
This is considered a false information but in my opinion this news has helped the market have a pretty blue after the statement of Starbucks.

The fake news will create the fomo effect and most of them help the market to have great pumps

as long as there aren't too many of them there shouldn't be any effect in the market. It depends on where that news is posted and I don't think any reliable website would report such news if it's fake but journalism isn't what it used to be.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2020 is best year for cryptoholders on: August 08, 2018, 12:50:49 PM
Nothing is certain mate, we do not know if by year 2020 is the best year for cryptoholders. A lot of things could happen every year price can climb or price can be low. But thinking to be positive could be help of the future of crypto.

We can see that crypto is slowly going mainstream, so it is possible that things might be completely different soon but nothing is certain as of yet. I think 2020 is still far and it would be fair to make these predictions once crypto is back to its old price.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto money will kill fake money on: August 08, 2018, 12:46:24 PM
Everything in our lives is now in our phones.
Why should we carry a wallet or credit card?
I really do not understand that.
millions of counterfeit money is printed every day
There's a lot of fake money in the world.
Can credit cards prevent this?
Bitcoin will kill them.

It's an alternative but I don't think it's going to replace fiat anytime soon since that's what you're implying. Yes, it would be difficult for people to create fake bitcoin and use them to make payment since transaction won't go through. There are countries who are still dependent on cash for the most part in doing their everyday business.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO Could Surpass Bitcoin By The Year 2019 on: August 07, 2018, 01:50:04 PM
I read this topic title with the name "insert coins" and "the next bitcoin-killer ..." many times, all I know, 100% of them were wrong.
I do not think any coin can outperform Bitcoin in the next few years.

yeah,, a lot of crypto claimed become a bitcoin killer,
but, i believe if there is no cryptocurrency can be a bitcoin killer now or in the future
regards

Yes, altcoins will exist with bitcoin just like they do now. They have their own purpose and people shouldn't be thinking about replacing/killing bitcoin as if both cannot exist at the same time, they already do. reminds me of those i-phone killer scenarios  Smiley
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust ICO Rating sites? on: August 07, 2018, 12:44:11 PM
They seem biased to me. A friend of mine who's doing an ICO told me that they paid 10ETH for 5 quality ratings and that's that! I noticed that some ICOs with good project, team, and good social media presence are struggling with getting good reviews.

With all that said, should it still be a factor to look at when investing in ICO?

They might be little biased but you have to keep them in consideration and not take them literally. You can use different websites to see if that particular ICO has received similar ratings in all platform or just one, that can help you find the authentic ones.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DYOR (Do your own research) on: August 03, 2018, 01:01:45 PM
Lately I have realized most people call crypto currency fraud because they chase green candles , news online before buying tokens.

The proper steps to take is to get the news, verify the source and Do Your Own Research
Then no one would fall into scam icos

Yes, you are right most people buy the tokens without any proper research and then after investing they used to search the future value of their investment. So if you are investing in any crypto project then you should be researching about it in detail before itself like what is the value of the concept used in that particular ICO project, how is their Management team working on, what are their future plans, how they are going to do marketing each and everything is important for us.

well said. I see too many posts people asking about what coin to buy without putting much research into it. If you research first, you will know which coin is best for yourself. I suppose sometimes you can get burn even after investing in researched coin, but that's better than investing based on someone else choice.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: altcoin prices? on: August 03, 2018, 12:56:41 PM
So bitcoin just keeps going up and down and still not reaching much lower than 6k but everytime these surges with bitcoin happen alt prices keep taking a dive. Even though it seems like when bitcoin takes a dive alts take a dive when btc raises alts take a dive.

Does anyone know why this keeps happening like this usually once money comes out of btc it goes back into the alts and the price raises again but it does not seem to happen like that now. I have lost a lot more % in alts than if I were to just hold btc.

Looking for opinions and suggestions on this subject?

When people move money from alts to bitcoin, alts go down. If bitcoin goes up doesn't necessarily mean alts will go up, it could simply mean money is being transferred to bitcoin and people are changing their position.

500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why do altcoins follow bitcoin? on: August 02, 2018, 01:10:44 PM
TL:DR Simply put, alt gains aren't an indication of more money moving into the market (at least right now), gains are pumped and lost because money is simply being moved around from one position to the next and not indicative of growth.

This is a really complex question and its going to take a lot to answer...

First of all, bitcoin's stability is the entire market..... imagine it as bitcoin being the trunk, ethereum is the larger branches.. and other altcoins are the leaves... Anytime the trunk isn't healthy the branches and leaves cannot flourish, and will quickly wilt or die.. but when bitcoin's trunk is really strong it creates a healthy cycle for the alts and branches to flourish.   The analogy doesn't answer the question though but it does explain how it operates..but the real question is why?   To me, the main reason this happens is not for fear or panic, but more for an opportunity.  People think of cryptocurrency as long-term investments,, which the market doesn't honor.  As you can see recently with alts pumping then pulling back as BTC needed some support, that simply no new money is coming into this space and is simply moving around.  For example.. look at Tron for its Mainnet or Verge for its lolpornhub announcement.. no new money came into this space for those events, money frankly just moved from one place to another.  Whales and smart money know when BTC is dropping to abandon alts not because they fear having them, but because they can capitalize on the capitulation of noobs and simply just pull their money away and wait for others that don't know whats going on to panic.  But hodling isn't the answer either, since usually when alts pump alot of the gains are often lost rotating from one place simply to another.  Imagine you have like a rotating face.. alts on one.. btc in another.. tether or USD in another.  Alts are completely out of position 2 out of 3 times.. and not only will they not gain, theyll lose to people leaving them to cause a position trade.   So the only way to really deal with this is to buy alts at the bottom of a BTC trend and sell them at the top of a BTC trend.. then either hold BTC to buy alts later or switch to tether and take advantage and double dip of staying in the right facing position.....

The next thing you're going to ask is why doesn't something like TRX/USDT disconnect.. the reason is it gets corrected by arbitrage algo bots.  If there is a way to make money with an unnatural gap selling TRX to USDT and selling USDT into BTC back into TRX, the unnatural gap will be closed.. so even in this instance USDT doesn't make any sense.. on top of that USDT is just an altcoin not proven to be backed up by anything so you'd STILL have to back into BTC or ETHER to cash out back into cash on your preferred exchange.

To be fair, I know it sucks, but its just the way it is.  The best way to deal with this is to do as everyone else does and move in and out of positions that will make you the most money... fundamentally I'm really bullish on a lot of alts, but if you're here to make money you have to play the smart game like everyone else.   People position trade and do whatever makes the most money.. until it becomes a more regulated market and the speculation becomes more real use cases, I would expect it to get worse before it gets better.

I think this is a great post on why altcoins follow bitcoin. Bitcoin growth is an indication that altcoins are also reliable form of investment but when bitcoin drops, it has sort of ripple effect on all altcoins. that trunk analogy is great.
