481  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 26, 2014, 03:08:57 AM
Seriously?
I wrote multiple times asking for a full refund and was ignored.
I had to go through the pain in the ass process of trying to sell my order to someone else and
trying to transfer to them, waiting a week for them to be happy so I could get my payment
released, then the BTC price tanked and lost money again in the process.
NOW you say you are accepting requests for refunds?
Seriously?
This is just a never ending joke.
On top of that, the shipping is pretty much on the last day of the month.
WOW, you are really going to call that August shipping when you mentioned earlier that
it would be mid August shipping.
After the last 20% increase in difficulty Im soooooo glad I decided to jump ship from this
sinking mining dabocle.
It sounded good at the beginning but just another preorder disaster.
Even at 4K NOW shipped today for an SP30, its a waste of fkng money.

The first GB units will be shipped tomorrow.
The owners will get a tracking number and AWB by email either Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning Israel time.
All the GB units will be shipped before the end of the week.

Even with the current spec, the units are a great value for $, especially at the GB price point after applying the compensation.
I know that you've been waiting patiently from April and I appreciate it. If you feel unhappy with your purchase, please contact sales@ immediately for a full refund.

Our main focus right now is to make sure all units are shipped in time and that each and everyone is contacted regarding the compensation preferences.
I'll be away from the thread for a few days, but you can still contact me in a PM. Please allow a few days to reply.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the SP30 very much.

Yes, I ordered about $2500 in gold coins with Amagi Metals and no issues at all paying with BTC.
Only note I have was they took about 3 weeks to arrive and the coins showed a little sign of wear
but they sent me some pretty old ones that looked like they were handled a bit before they got to me.
I think its a fair assessment to say Amagi can be trusted if you are looking to move BTC to places
other than exchange to your bank account.

I recommend Amagi metals. I have purchased many ounces of gold and silver with bitcoin. Their prices are very very competitive, if you find a better price, give them a call and see what you can work out. In one of their first months accepting bitcoin, they sold 1 million dollars worth, now their volume is much much larger. They are located in Denver and I received my coins (if in stock) within a week.

I know many others that have had great experiences with them as well. Its been a few months since my last order, but it went very well.
483  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order - Specs: 0.69$/GH + 0.46W/GH on: August 20, 2014, 12:41:06 AM
BOOM.  Another 20% difficulty increase.  That is two 20%+ increases in less than 3 months.
The RoadStress difficulty predictions are a big wiffer again.
Now that difficulty has shot through the roof again and an SP30 is making less than .1 per day
they should be done burning in and testing and start shipping Id guess.
Im willing to bet there are at least two more, maybe 3, 20%+ increases coming by Dec 31st.
ROI?  LOLZ.  At these prices today, just wait for BTC to hit $400 again, get a lucky buy at
BTCe when there is another flash crash in price, and you can buy the coin at half the price it
would be to mine it.  This mining game is a dead stick for us little guys, Ill say it again.
484  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order - Specs: 0.69$/GH + 0.46W/GH on: August 18, 2014, 07:15:53 AM
It DOES matter if you have expenses you have to exchange BTC for to pay power / hosting / maintenance parts.....
LOWER price means MORE BTC spent for expenses and LESS secured to your wallet.

It doesn't really matter what the BTC price is now.. it's how many you paid for it or how many you could have bought with the price at the time of sale

The important part now is the difficulty and it's been above what I predicted
You're looking at around 25 billion or so before you start hashing

Sad to say but unless you have free power, the difficulty doesn't rise at all or you sell it off to an unsuspecting person that doesn't realise they could buy more coins than they would mine for the price you're just going to have a very noisy, expensive power hungry box that you have to maintain for the next 6 months

My Bitcoins just sit in my secure wallet Smiley No maintenance required

485  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order - Specs: 0.69$/GH + 0.46W/GH on: August 18, 2014, 03:19:01 AM
I was order reservation number 5 in the GB queue and to my knowledge the guy who
bought my order has NOT got an SP30 shipped to him.

My guess, Aug 30 if you are lucky.   Barf.

Are you ready for it yet, I'm guessing 20% difficulty increase here at the next adjustment.
Id love to see 25% just to see another RoadStress proclamation be an epic fail but after two
20% plus difficulty increases in less than 3 months, I think his difficulty expectation already failed
BIG TIME.

How about that 20% DUMP in BTC price in less than a week.
I'm SOOO glad I got rid of that SP30 piece of crap.
Mining is dead for us little guys if you haven't already figured that out.

Have fun guys!!!!
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 7.4BTC transaction shows as 0.025 BTC sent on blockchain.info - HELP on: August 15, 2014, 03:17:32 PM
-snip-

Apparently he copy pasted out of the wrong text file.

Thats likely, but why did he have that textfile with addresses? Usually because you know someone with that address.

-snip-
Well you can store you BTC at your CEX.io wallet at the address they provide you.

You can, but you should not.

Id call that a web wallet of sorts, if it is a web wallet even.....?
Im not sure how you even got to the part about owning all of CEX.io.  Its one wallet receive address.

A wallet -at least for me- is something that gives you control over at least one private key. So if anything happens to the service you still have the private key to spend the funds useing another wallet.

Cex.io is a service that has a balance. If they go away tomorrow your friend (and everyone else that though storring coins there was a good idea) has nothing but usless login data. The address your friend sends money to in order to increase his balance on cex.io is not under his control. Thus following the balance of that address is irrelevant. The only thing that is relevant is the balance on cex.io. Big companies will not store the money you send them on the addresses they give you to pay.

Yes that is true.  Its not an actual wallet like Armory or a generated cold storage wallet.
I wouldnt leave my balance on there but he chooses to use it.  Not what I would do but that is on him.
Seriously, I dont know him well enough to know where the address / file came from but I think he was
not in the correct state of mind to be sending funds of that amount in that state.
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 7.4BTC transaction shows as 0.025 BTC sent on blockchain.info - HELP on: August 15, 2014, 01:45:45 PM
OK I think some of this could be explained since he said he uses a CEX.io wallet.
-snip-

Cex.io is not a wallet nor a wallet service. Addresses mean nothing in this context. Thats like saying you own amazons bank account because you send them money to increase the funds shown on amazon.com.

-snip-
They have sent ONE transaction since they got the wallet and just messaged me saying they
think they sent the funds to the wrong person.
-snip-

The chance for a typo in an address is very low, so your friend should know who that address belongs to.

Apparently he copy pasted out of the wrong text file.
Im really not sure how the hell he did it, I just know him via email and chat
so Im honestly baffled too how he got it, how he was not that careful.
Well you can store you BTC at your CEX.io wallet at the address they provide you.
Id call that a web wallet of sorts, if it is a web wallet even.....?
Im not sure how you even got to the part about owning all of CEX.io.  Its one wallet receive address.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 7.4BTC transaction shows as 0.025 BTC sent on blockchain.info - HELP on: August 15, 2014, 12:40:03 PM
OK I think some of this could be explained since he said he uses a CEX.io wallet.
I think that input address he receives funds for is not what he sent out from.

If you look at his wallet page here,
https://blockchain.info/address/1B2UhCF2RnNhyUH52nR8aKQFwUATsRn1oc

Look down to the transaction that was a SEND

1B2UhCF2RnNhyUH52nR8aKQFwUATsRn1oc   -          1JuLLmh1KU5NRHBqi6K3husyXujB52czhK    -  7.4 BTC
                                                                                                                           !!!     37 confirmations       -0.025 BTC    !!!

Is the amount in the RED square, -0.025BTC not the amount SENT?
Why would it show two different amounts.

After speaking with him again, Im pretty sure hes using CEX.io and he pasted the wrong address
into the send as he said was sleep deprived.

Either way, Im pretty sure he messed up something pretty bad but the transaction made no sense
showing on the wallet page -0.025BTC and the balance only showing sent that much, but Im guessing
that is because its a web CEX.io wallet.
I dont know WHY or WHERE he got the address from but he said he was pretty sure he sent to the wrong address
by mistake.   This is honestly bad for him.

I searched that wallet here but got no search results.  That's strange.
Will read now.   Thanks
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / 7.4BTC transaction shows as 0.025 BTC sent on blockchain.info - HELP on: August 15, 2014, 11:48:13 AM
So this transaction was sent by a contact of mine who's been buying up BTC lately.

https://blockchain.info/tx/4a1a053fc069da2ac324aceac83351f81a96dc6c4d6b3115d3bfa6f06e740159

They have sent ONE transaction since they got the wallet and just messaged me saying they
think they sent the funds to the wrong person.

The address they sent to has received a GRIP of BTC and I was wondering if it is a CEX.io address
or a mixer.

Google the address and it has 0 info about it except block explorer search results.

NOW, here is what is odd.

The transaction details for THAT transaction show the outputs sent 7.4 BTC, with no fees, and its already
confirmed.  First part that makes me wonder what is up.

Second part is that on the wallet address main page, the transaction shows:

Total Received - 27.80488648 BTC
Final Balance    - 27.77988648 BTC

https://blockchain.info/address/1B2UhCF2RnNhyUH52nR8aKQFwUATsRn1oc

Its not possible they could have sent 7.4 BTC like the actual transaction shows here.
AND, on the main wallet page, the whole thing is odd to me.
It shows the transaction was 7.4 BTC , but the red output circle is 0.025
AND, final balance minus total received is 0.025 BTC so why is it showing they sent that massive received wallet 7.4BTC

https://blockchain.info/tx/4a1a053fc069da2ac324aceac83351f81a96dc6c4d6b3115d3bfa6f06e740159

I'm trying to ask what type of wallet he used but its strange that the FIRST transaction hes ever sent is so weird to the
fact Ive never seen anything like it.

Next, WTF is that wallet he sent it to...
He didn't send 7.4 BTC, did he, it says it did in the transaction, but his wallet said he didnt.
And how could a transaction that big with 0 fee get confirmations so fast?

I have a friend who did a test with no fee for 0.006 and 12 hours later 0 confirmations.
Any info on what the hell happened here would help but I think hes panicking for no reason and his funds are still
there and he didn't send anyone 7.4BTC but I haven't been doing this long enough to claim to know exactly what I really do se.

490  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 14, 2014, 06:12:45 AM
Every time I see this thread and then watch BTC tank 10%+ in 2 or 3 days makes me laugh.
I have over 30oz of gold coins and would buy 30 more before I buy 5 BTC.
I question how many people here own 1/10th of that amount of BTC
Gold has been up $15 the last weeks.  And good ol bitcoin, tanking again, no surprises there.
But oh yah, it will be $1500 again by January.
Thats a good one.
Maybe more like $150 per BTC there you experts.
LOLZ
People here make me Huh

PM me if there is some Indiegogo type funding project here and I might be in depending on price.
492  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $100 Starbucks Cards for $39! Trusted! Accepting BTC, LTC, Paypal, and Venmo! on: August 12, 2014, 01:23:11 AM
The best way to buy these cards for people getting scammed here is

1. Buy your OWN gift card and have it ready before you buy.
2. AS SOON as you receive the card, transfer the full balance to your own card.
This way their card is $0 balance immediately after you receive it.

Its pretty easy process on your phone.  I bought a new card for $10 with Paypal
on the iPhone starbucks app before I bought a few here and transfer them RIGHT AWAY
to my own private card to protect the balance.

I got burnt for a small one I bought a few weeks back when I forgot to transfer
it right away.  I think if you do this you will be safe with the balance as long as you keep
the card # and PIN secure.
493  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order - Specs: 0.69$/GH + 0.46W/GH on: August 11, 2014, 06:51:22 AM
My order was transferred and I'm done with all crypto mining.
Enjoy the next 20% or 25% crippling blow to the mining difficulty increase that
is coming up next.
I have a feeling when the group buy miners start shipping and are received
that an SP30 will earn less than .1BTC per day.
If Id have just held the 20+ BTC I spent on mining gear a few months back
Id have made around 3K USD instead of JUST BARELY breaking even with
SP10s and SP30s even at a reasonable discount.
Mining for people like us with 5 or 10K to spend is just dead.
It is to the point now where buying mining gear is just burning your money.

This mining game for people like us trying to earn a little bit of profit is to
the point where buying anything at more than 20C per GH/s and using VERY
little power and maybe 100 TH/s of hashing power, there is just NO MONEY left in it.
The people selling the picks and shovels are the only ones that can ensure
they make a profit anymore.

SP-Tech staff is very helpful with the transfer and they helped me out
with the buyer to put the order into his name.

NOW, if you are going to sell your order, you honestly have NO
protection as a seller with escrow unless you very very specifically
detail the terms with the person holding funds for escrow.
I was at the mercy of the buyer 100% of the time with escrow and until
they were happy, the escrow would not release the funds.  Not exactly
how I thought escrow works but that is neither here nor there.  Just BE
VERY CAREFUL and ensure that you have solid terms that will protect you
when you get an email from the SPTech sales that can prove the buyer is
the new owner of the order and miner when it ships.

Per Gadi, once the order is given to them to transfer to the new buyer, they
will NOT transfer it back to your name if you are not paid.

I would suggest if the buyer insists on escrow, inform them and the
person holding escrow that once you produce an email from the sales
staff saying that the order is transferred, that meets the sellers portion
of the transaction and that funds be released.  Once they do the transfer
the seller CAN NOT ask for the order back.

You can trust Gadi and Katya that if they say the order is transferred to
your name, IT WILL be in your name.

The SPTech sales system was not set up for order transfers so until
they can fix that, the order WILL NOT show up in their SPTech account.
It will still show up in yours with their name and shipping details but
THEY will own the device and order. They are trying to work out with
the Point Of Sale system to be able to transfer the order to new SPTech account
to keep the same order number and queue position after the transfer to the
new SPTech account.
494  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: i want to give 100 BTC to one user on bitcointalk. tell me why it is U. on: August 06, 2014, 08:02:10 AM
Looking to Start Up my own business in the Philippines to help spread the usage of
BitCoin throughout the country.
Many of the countries citizens work abroad and send money home and are faced
with poor exchange rates and high remittance rates and sending fees when using Western Union
or other transmittal services.
The country is a perfect condition to use something like BitCoin to keep more of their
earnings vs. spending them on high Western Union rates.
A dream business for me would be to work there locally with a small business to help start
raising the awareness of the potential of BitCoin and spread the usage of BitCoin
throughout  the country for a location with many who have no bank accounts.
Specifically starting with setting up BTC ATMs and business offices to help local merchants
accept BitCoin and small exchanges to help the local economy keep more of their own
money instead of it going to the corrupt local govt or Western Union for high transaction
and remittance fees.

@BitcoinPappi & ALL GB members
I am sure that SP-Tech is flooded with e-mails right now. Please state your requests here or PM me and I will discuss the issue with SP-Tech for an easier organization. If I don't manage to get a "good" answer for you then you can negociate directly with them. I find it easier for me to send an e-mail with 4-5 questions than for them to receive 5 separate e-mails. Also I'm open to any suggestion that you might have.

hardhouseinc. Has agreed to give me his spot in for early August deliver. I would like for you to confirm the following with SP Tech:

1.Can they allow an order to be transferred
2.Once the order is transferred will I get the same compensation that all the other group buy members will be rewarded
3.What are the complete compensation terms
3.Lets make this happen so hardhouseinc can be happy
[/quote]

@BitcoinPappi -

Let me know what you find out by PM from either RoadStress or SP-Tech.
Im done following or posting in this thread.  When you get word let me know and Ill
send you the order number to work with them to transfer to you.

This is the last and final time I get burned by an ASIC manufacturer falling short ever again.
The guarantee I got from RoadStress was also as good as every other promise I got ever related to
BTC and its always the small buyer who gets the short end of the deal in the long run every time.

****
I think Guy and SP-Tech is a standup business, their SP10 was GREAT, but when promises are made and you hide
behind the no refund policy because we took your BTC and you cant make us pay it back, is a policy that
NEEDS TO END TODAY!!!
****

No other type of company IN THE WORLD can get away with sales like that.  Why, because 99% of them
work with CC sales and they know that if they screw you, you can go back to the CC company and force
a refund by issuing a charge cancellation or charge back.

The ASIC manufacturers are STILL hiding behind the BTC payment only, no refund policy because they
know there is a GOOD chance they will fall short and people will ask for refunds.
It works out better for them to calculate a partial refund / interest free loan / that works for them and
not you.

This is the last time I ever order any ASIC gear EVER.  Its just the last staw for me.
Thanks for the ride, it was fun while it lasted.
496  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 30, 2014, 12:57:51 AM
I don't see you jumping to buy my miner off me when you say IM CRAZY to ask for a refund.

No, you're certainly not crazy and I'm pretty sure that they're legally obligated to give a full refund to anyone who requests one.

When did jimmothy passed the AM shill torch to you?

Arrange it please. I will buy back provided i get the full  customer compensation.

I will liaise the details with SP-Tech and will update my GB when I have all the definitive answers, but I'm pretty sure that if they will allow order transfers then you will get full compensation just like everyone else.

I don't give a rats A$$ about Jimmothy or AM.
I'm just sick and tired of being burned and in the end I LOSE OUT.
Yes, this has finally set me off and when I get burned Ill make it known QUICKLY.
This dabocle was my final straw after promises and guarantees were made for MONTHS.

You made me a guarantee before I paid in the group buy.
Bottom line, they came up short, and your promise was obviously worth a handful of magic
beans or you would have immediately offered to take the miner off my hands and back up
your promise.

You say I'm crazy to want a refund but you want nothing to do with the miner either.
I think I rest my case on that fact alone.

BitcoinPappi has offered to take the order and Im good with that.
Ill take the $$ back at from him if they will transfer him the order.

497  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 30, 2014, 12:51:32 AM
Whoops

OK. Delivery for August correct ? If so can you arrange to have it transferred to me ? I will only buy it back for cash  value you paid in the group buy. Provided I will receive the customer compensation lets get the ball rolling here.

Yes, I was in the Aug group buy.
If you can contact the SP-Tech sales dept and they agree to transfer the order to you
Ill take my money back.  PM me and Ill give you the order number.
If Im paid in BTC it will have to be via CoinBase invoice at the rate of time of payment.
The price is dropping like a rock so I wont agree on a BTC amount now.
498  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 30, 2014, 12:30:01 AM
OK I held my tongue here long enough.
Ive been at the front of the line promoting here and giving my praise for this company
but I just cant take it, this pre-order is the final straw for me when it comes to BTC.

Ive been quiet and said they will come through but this is a FAIL in my book.
No, they were adamant about these miners will reach 6.5 TH/s.
Look at your Group Buy.
[CLOSED] Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order - Specs: 0.69$/GH + 0.46W/GH
To get that cost, the miner HAS to be at least 6.5TH/s, $4500 / 6500 = 0.69

SO, they say now its 4.5TH/s +/-
That means to me it could be a 4TH/s miner when I get it.

That is 2.5TH/s SHORT of what they promised over and over and Im not out of line
on those numbers when 10% possible minus on an already slow miner is a BIG MINUS.

Have you seen the BTC price lately?
By the time they ship the BTC price will probably be back to the same level as what I paid.
These pre-orders turning into interest free loans have rubbed me wrong for the last time.
Asking for my BTC back when their product is failing is not out of line at all either.

I don't see you jumping to buy my miner off me when you say IM CRAZY to ask for a refund.
That must mean you are crazy to pass up the chance to buy it from me and get these amazing
miner compensation plans they are going to hand out.
I also dont see you jumping to back up your money back guarantee you gave me when you said
YOU PROMISED me they would deliver.
You sure gave me a quick oh go to the member to member sale section fast, I guess you dont want to
back up with you promised.
If you are so quick to run away from my offer to take my miner, WHY WOULD I WANT TO KEEP IT?

I can tell you right now my patience has run out with this damn world wide BTC mining dabocle and Im done.
I dont want the headache of reselling it when its NOT to spec and no one wants to pay for it.
I dont want the headache of dealing with partial compensation, slow miner, broken promises, Its just tiring.

@BitcoinPappi

If you want my miner you can buy it and have SP-Tech transfer the order to you.

What I meant was no refund for the total purchase, the hashrate is off by 25%, I understand that there could be electronic issues but deal is a deal and they should offer full refund along with compansation they will be offering and let the buyers decide.

Since they announced that they will match the $/Gh paid you must be crazy to want/ask for a full refund now. My GB members got 0.83$/GH for August delivery. Why would you refund that when the miner should be shipping soon (1-2 weeks)? Still can't get a better offer.

Then offer to buy me out at the BTC price I paid for my miner.
I want out of this damn BTC mining game and this 2TH/s short speed is not going to work for me.

A partial refund today only gets me a small amount of my money back now as an interest free loan.
Being that short on hashing speed loses me mining income EVERY MONTH.
Honestly, I want a full refund, this Group Buy has turned into a huge headache for me.
I think I had a guarantee on this SP30 from you as well when I paid for my SP30.

My opinion of an option.....

1. Full refund
2. A second SP20 at a VERY LOW cost to make up for shortage of hash rate.

Not again the full BTC refund after BTC increased in value and with a no refund policy in place...

And it's not 2TH/s short. It's 0.9TH/s short. Most of the people bought a 5.4TH/s miner. The increase to 6TH/s was an added bonus afterwards.

You will get your paid SP30 don't worry and if you don't like it then eBay and Marketplace sub forum are your best friends.

Edit:
1. Full refund
2. A second SP20 at a VERY LOW cost to make up for shortage of hash rate.

I think if we can expect anything here, it should be high expectations.

My history with SP-Tech has been with the slow/slow corner May batch of the SP10.

Even when they got less than the best chips, they still got the ASICs to perform at or above
1.4TH/s with Zvisha's hard work and top notch firmware upgrades.  Both of my SP10s from
May are at or above 1.4TH/s and hashing as solid as they come.  You cant ask for better support
than what Guy and his team provides.
