481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Attack on Bitcoin’ Claims Circulate as Transaction Fees Climb Higher on: December 20, 2023, 05:27:30 PM
Well, I say... let them burn their money, if they are doing this to sabotage Bitcoin. Let the miners do their thing and let the developers analyze this threat and implement their counter measures.

We should never forget that Bitcoin is still experimental ... we still need to figure out if the tx fees will be enough to reward the miners.. once the Block reward falls away.

It is just part of the evolution of this technology and ALL other tokens would have collapsed under an attack like this.... Bitcoin is still standing.  Wink
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Whole Concept of Bitcoin is Failing! on: December 20, 2023, 05:16:40 PM
This has nothing to do with governments, it has all to do with "GREED"!

The developers of this technology (Ordinals) to the people invested in this to the miners mining this.... all are motivated by greed. The thing is this, it is a NORMAL part of how this should evolve, we should allow for technologies to use the Blockchain and developers should find solutions to solve the congested Blockchain.

There should be FREEDOM to use the technology and the experiment should adapt with it.... because all other tokens would face the same challenges and they should also adapt to it.  Tongue
483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 18, 2023, 11:48:24 AM
I have spoken to a lot of people with a gambling problem and they say that they will find another activity to occupy their time to keep them from gambling. (Sport activities or hobbies or joining social clubs)

The problem come in when they are alone at home and they see a gambling advertisement or they open their email or their browser and they are spammed by casino ads.  Angry
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 18, 2023, 11:44:41 AM
I think it happens more often than most people seem to think.

" Those figures reveal Sportradar detected over 1,200 suspicious matches in 12 sports in 2022 – the highest to date and a 34 per cent increase on 2021. By April this year – when it found 150 suspicious matches, the highest ever in a calendar month – 2023 was on course to exceed last year. " - Source : https://www.scmp.com/sport/football/article/3221054/match-fixing-spiralling-and-sports-must-spend-halt-it-expert-says-naming-football-basketball-no-1

" Overall, across all sports, the suspected manipulation rate stood at one in every 476 matches " Source : https://sportradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Betting-Corruption-And-Match-Fixing-In-2022-2.pdf
485  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: December 18, 2023, 11:39:23 AM
I agree, I'm not much of a gambler, I more so like to watch other streamers/celebrities stream, but a Dana White and Stake collab would be pretty fun to watch, especially since Dana White has a history of gambling, one of my favorite gamblers. Tongue

Dana White has been "blocked" at many casinos, because he seems to have a gambling problem.... or the casinos think he is not a good match for their brand. "In 2019, White revealed that he was banned from the Palms Casino after winning $1.6 million on a single night." - Source : https://www.sportskeeda.com/mma/news-my-anxiety-s-roof-joe-rogan-breaks-silence-viral-gambling-video-dana-white-losing-600-grand-blackjack

Drake is a good match for Stake.com... but I think Drake are just too busy to focus on promoting Stake.com .... he does a stream and then you do not hear from him in the next couple of months.  Tongue
486  Economy / Gambling / Re: tell me the best online casino on: December 18, 2023, 11:32:05 AM
I play most on Stake.com and Duelbits and also on Sportsbet.io for sport bets and I also like Fortunejack.  Wink They have been operating for years now, so I doubt that any of them will scam you.

The player vs player feature is a difficult one, because not a lot of these casinos offer that option. The ones that I played, turned out to be scam sites.  Tongue
487  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Issues Important Warning as It Plans to Perform Wallet Maintenance on: December 18, 2023, 09:57:46 AM
So, you think part of the maintenance are moving coins to cold storage or moving it in and out of the cold storage as a "test"? Is this now a regulatory requirement to move funds like this?

I think everyone are on a heightened level of paranoia, after Changpeng Zhao stepped down as CEO and every move they are making are being scrutinized now.. because they know those huge fines has to come from somewhere.  Tongue Huh
488  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to self exclude from anonymous gambling sites on: December 10, 2023, 05:57:49 AM
Well, if you lock your coins.. you not just stopping you from gambling... you also make it unavailable to sell them, if they hit the next ATH in that period. I know the reason for this is to stop you from using it for gambling, but this can even cost you a lot more, if you miss the opportunity to make huge profits, if the price of those tokens goes to the Moon.

A lot of casinos have a vault option, so I was thinking.... why not just ask them to lock the coins in the vault. (so that you cannot access it)
489  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 09, 2023, 03:14:17 PM
Mark Twain said —> 'Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.'  ....so I reckon those people will not want to retire, they will just keep doing what they are doing.

I think most people should just get a hobby that generate some income to supplement their retirement income, so that they are busy while they are on pension.  Wink
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling? on: December 09, 2023, 03:08:57 PM
Why would you want to do that as a worker of a casino? The more money that the players are betting ...will increase the profit of the casino and the workers might get more bonuses.  Tongue

I think every reaction of a casino worker are being monitored, so the casino CCTV operators will pick up on any suggestive comments from those workers and it will be reported.

If I had to do this... I would have said, "Enjoy your winnings" .... or "You are very lucky today"  Cheesy
491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: First winning can be a trap on: December 09, 2023, 03:03:13 PM
Yea, I know some people are saying casinos are setting the return to player (RTP) at something very good.. with newbie accounts, but as soon as your account has aged... you get a bad RTP, because they have hooked you.

This cannot be proven, because casinos knows that to verify the RTP, you need to do almost 1 000 000+ bets and by that time, you would have spend thousands of dollars and they could have changed the RTP while you are testing it.  Undecided
492  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: December 09, 2023, 02:57:53 PM
The minimum requirement for most of the drops are above $10 000 now, so I think Stake are slow cooking us for higher wager requirements in 2024. I have just watched Steve's stream and the wager requirement was set at $11 000 ...where it usually are set at $10 000. (slowly creeping higher and higher)

We saw him doing a stream session, where they gave away almost $300 000 .... so I am thinking that the house edge will be set at 90% for the house until January 2024.  Roll Eyes Tongue
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Bitcoin Devolpers planning to kill Ordinals and Inscription on: December 09, 2023, 02:49:55 PM
To me it will be a battle between "Miners Greed" vs "Censorship of tx's"  .. because the changes needs the full nodes to accept it..and they do not really care for the Blockchain spamming, because it increases the tx fees.  Roll Eyes

The problem with this is the exploitation of the loopholes for other spam attacks or projects like this that are spamming the network with useless transactions.  Tongue
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 07, 2023, 04:55:28 PM
You just realized that you are a human with human reactions. We all do things that gives us positive results and then we are happy.. but the moment when something does not go the way you want it to go.. you are sad and frustrated. (human emotions)  Wink

The problem come in when you cannot handle your urge to gamble and when you cannot handle the losses. It sounds as if you still has some very young children, so I guess it is better to spend that money on your kid... not on gambling.  Roll Eyes
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with entropy (Chaos) on: December 07, 2023, 04:51:06 PM
If you believe that every bet are unique and not in any way linked to previous bets, then no bot will ever be able to garantee 100% ROI or even profit. I have been trying bots for years now.. and it always ends in a zero balance.. sometimes it happens quickly, but sometimes it runs for an extended period and then suddenly the switch is flipped and it goes to zero. (figuratively)

The "Seuntjies" bots has given me some of the best results... but if you play for too long, it just wipe your funds.   Tongue
496  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2023-12-04 Cointelegraph - South Africa may license 36 crypto companies in Dec on: December 07, 2023, 04:44:02 PM
Well, South Africa are one of the countries that are "Crypto friendly" ...and the president's son are also believed to be involved in Crypto projects, so he should be in a position to explain Crypto to his father.  Roll Eyes

They also see Bitcoin as a "Commodity" and not as legal tender, so the tax payer pay Capital gains on their profits. There are also ATM's where you can convert Fiat to Bitcoin.. but there are not a lot of those ATM's.

One of their Supermarkets (Pick n Pay) recently announced that they will accept Bitcoin (via a payment processor) for their products.

497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking to sell a computer to raise money to invest in Bitcoin. on: December 07, 2023, 04:36:42 PM
Well, it might be a good decision or a very bad decision... nobody can say, because nobody can predict the future. I just know that every bitcoin that I have ever bought, have given me loads of profits.. you just need to buy low and wait for the best time to sell at a profit.

If you are not able to wait for the opportunity to sell at a profit, you might have to sell at a loss and then you will regret this decision. I had friends who bought at a high price, and they had to wait 3 years to sell at a profit. (Are you willing to wait?)

So, if you point fingers at someone..... make sure 4 fingers are not pointing back at you. Do I need to say anything else?
499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Include Or Always Include Gambling In Your New Year's Resolution on: December 06, 2023, 09:28:44 AM
Yes, I always include it, but this is how the list looks like on the 2cnd of January :

1. Stop gambling tick
2. Stop Drinking tick
3. Be nice to assholes tick

I just cannot honor any of my New Year's resolutions, because it takes away the fun in life. I enjoy sitting down with a glass of wine and gambling for a hour .... it is very entertaining.  Tongue

You can see the recent bonus cuts are in full effect on the recent christmas promotion as well.

The stream was already much worse than last year ( smaller bonus buys and kind of less drops ) and especially the last drop was a full scam, haha.
Eddie didn't change the nonce so the result of picking the drop was the same as the last regular drop ( which was the 2nd lowest outcome ).

All the people in the chat told him, he didn't care and said the outcome is different, even though claims and wager requirement was exactly the same result. So the amount was also the same falling on 13$ of possible 30$, which is basically the same as the previous 3$ of possible 9$. Very frustrating dealing with a person who just doesn't care and can't admit his own mistake.

Now to the telegram drops. Last year every drop for the xmas promo had 5000 claims with 5$ and different wager, maybe starting at 8-10k. Now there are only 2000 drops for 5$ with much higher wager. And since the drop amount is so low they are gone within 20 seconds yet again , well done stake.

Very disappointing work by the marketing team yet again.

I think if I remember correctly... there were a slow buildup to the bigger drops closer to Xmas, so they are just doing the same thing that they did last year. We will see if they increase it ..as we get closer to Xmas.. to really see if it was scaled down or not.

In any way, even if they did $20 drops.. that money will come from the RTP and that is hurting the gaming experience. I prefer smaller .. but more regular drops ..with a good RTP, not bigger drops and a almost impossible gaming experience.. where it just drains your whole gambling budget in one session.  Roll Eyes
