4921  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: April 30, 2021, 03:05:23 AM
Hello. I need help with my r606.

I am using CGMINER 4.11.1 with a Ras Pi 4 and can get the r606 to start mining just fine, but it zombies after about 10 minutes of operation. My power source is 12V - 8A brick (have also used a 10A before but no change) with barrel plug. I unplug it and fire it back up, but it will zombie about the same amount of runtime -(rinse, repeat). I have noticed it dies when it try's to peak adjust the target frequency. I have tried many different frequencies from 200-600 Mhz - but it does not seem to matter - it zombies when it try's to peak adjust.

Has anyone seen this issue before? Any ideas on how to troubleshoot or fix? Is there a way to keep the miner from trying to peak adjust the frequency? Please don't hesitate to post re or PM me. I really appreciate any guidance or help - this one is a head scratcher for this Newbie. Thanks!

are you sure its not just doing plateau's ? it should do that 3 times - where it ramps up and then starts over, it will drop to zero but then will work its way back up.  Just not sure how long you are giving it when you say it is "zombies" out.

setting up a wallet is not hard - if its a cas, they are easy to redeem - also all the forks that will come with that as well.

That being said, I hope someone steps up and buys this, I would hate to see another cas peeled.
4923  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 257 blocks solved! on: April 27, 2021, 07:00:44 PM
Okay makes sense. So to obtain a block my difficulty must surpass the base difficulty of the block and for that to happen is entirely by chance/luck. When a share is expected, that doesn't mean a block is mined but means that the minimum mining diff was surpassed and a share was accepted by the pool in an attempt to mine the block. Sorry if I'm being an inconvenience, I'm trying to learn about it. I'm curious, how can you tell if you mined a block, Eth or BTC or any to be frank.

you will know you you mined a block when your best share is > than what is needed to mine a block.

I am using cgminer for my R606's - I don't see anywhere it would say I found a block - but I do check it regularly so if the best share was greater than the diff required, I would know I found one.

for my larger asics, they have a field in the UI where it shows the number of blocks found, if any.

Yea - I just saw this on twitter - very cool looking!
4925  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 257 blocks solved! on: April 27, 2021, 06:41:30 PM
i was mining with the SHA256 on ck pool. And my diff showed as 11.7k over 10k meaning that there was a block mined or I'm missing some crucial piece of information.

a share does not mean you hit a block. With the difficulty of your share (11.7k) and I would assume 10k was the lowest diff the pool would accept so your miner hit a share with a diff high enough for the pool to accept - not to get a block though. not sure when you hit this share of 11.7k but right now diff is 23.58 th - and your share was 11.7k - or you need higher than 23,581,981,443,663 and you got 11,700

I need help understanding what happened on my BFGminer. I'm experimenting with crypto and getting into ETH mining. But I have a usb block erupter i was toying with and trying to see if I can get it to script mine. But I left the bfg miner for ck pool running just for the hell of it and I ended up getting an accepted share which I have no idea what it is. My Efficiency reads at 12.66 and my Accepted share is at 1.

to be simple - a block erupter is an asic and can only mine SHA-256 so if you were trying to mine scrypt with it, there is no way you would have gotten a share on scrypt - someone correct me on that if I am wrong, but about 99.9% sure that I am not.

If you were mining sha-256 and got a share, then that would be expected - but if you were pointing it at ckpool, a share means nothing unless it exceeds the diff required to find a block --- you can have shares but not find any blocks, in other words.
4927  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Terminus R606 750GH (up to 1TH) quiet miner, now shipping on: April 27, 2021, 04:39:09 AM
Are there any more of these in stock anywhere through an authorized vendor?

I have a new one unopened on eBay......1 day left...as an aside...check my feedback on here Smiley

brad

I saw that and congrats to you for getting that price! I cannot believe people are willing to pay what it is going for.  mines only making about 38 cents a day, they are talking about 2 year to roi at the price.

or maybe they will use it as a lottery machine, the power consumption is sweet for doing that.

Thanks for the help MoparMinigLLC, but I can't get the gekko newpac to recognize me, I can start mining, but as it doesn't recognize the asic gekkoscience newpac, it doesn't mine anything, you know if there is a driver installed and if so, how to do it , I can not find it anywhere. Thanks

the instructions are on the first page of this thread, the links to the drivers and such should all be on the first page as well.

Hi friends, I need help. I was able to get him to run the gekko newpac on windows, but I don't get it on ubuntu, I need someone to help me in the command that I need to put in the terminal as it tells me "cgminer: --gekko-newpac-freg: unrecognized option" I have put this command and it does not work for me: cgminer -o stratum+tcp://sha256.eu.zpool.ca:3333 -u (wallet) -p --suggest-diff128 --gekko-newpac-freq 150

Thanks

I am not using Ubuntu but I am using another version of Linux, my command line is this:

./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://<pool> -u <user name> -p <password> --api-listen --gekko-r606-freq 800

Hey guys any idea where I can get few of those with Worldwide shipping? Used to buy them off Amazon, but seems like stock has dried out there.

was it overheating? was the psu having an issue? what were you running it on?
4931  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Tangem bulk order - extras up for grab/sale on: April 23, 2021, 02:48:18 PM
sounds good, I will keep the OP updated with how many are available as well.

Sure thing, just remember that other than the ones I've already ordered and paid for anything can happen.  So, if someone wants to buy the remaining cards, by all means sell to then first (we can always order more later on).

agreed Smiley yours are already packaged, just awaiting the XUMM/XRP ones to arrive.
4932  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Tangem bulk order - extras up for grab/sale on: April 23, 2021, 02:03:54 PM
update: the multi-currency wallets have arrived - the XUMM/XRP ones are still in transit - will update once I have all on hand.

there are still 5 multi-currency available, if anyone wants one!

I've realised I've got to update my phone to an NFC capable device, or, buy a Bluetooth/NFC capable gadget to clip onto my phone.  Either way an upgrade is around the corner.I've got two people here that might be interested in getting the multi-currency wallets, but everything's going to be dependent on getting the wallet NFC android wallet and having a play around (which I"m looking forward to).

Will advice if/wen these people want to upgrade and get a card.

sounds good, I will keep the OP updated with how many are available as well.

Lucky man, Mopar!  You've got two rolls?  They sold out so fast I missed out on this one.  Nice looking stickers too btw.

the second roll is not mine, it is for someone else. I just collected it in my shipment.

4937  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Why is there not more supply and demand for empty Physical Bitcoin? on: April 21, 2021, 11:11:29 AM
hypothetically BTC will likely loss its fiat value when minted as physical coin!

BTC does not lose its value when it is minted into a physical item. The physical items are simply a representation of the wallet address and allows the BTC to be a bearer item, allowing for transfers of BTC off chain. This increases it's value not decreases it.

@patrike

I see you support the goldshell HS3 and HS5 - any possibility of supporting the HS1 Plus ?
Do you have access to the HS1 Plus miner right now? Could you please send me the API report for it via PM or mail. You can access the API Report via the toolbar Tools -> API Report.

Goldshell HS3 and HS5 was so similar from a monitoring point of view that I couldn't even tell them apart. It's likely that HS1 also are similar.

I have access to the miner but AM does not see it. I have tried locate it with AM on the network (I know the ip address) but I cannot get AM to see it.
I was hoping the HS1 miner would be similar to the more recent Goldshell miners, but unfortunately it sounds like it doesn't have any active monitoring interface.
Are there any settings in the web interface for this miner that would indicate that you could enable the API or monitoring?

it runs in a CLI window - I dont see or know of any options screens. I really know very little about it other than that it runs perfectly and has already ROI'd
