they look nice - what is the metal? and possible to cut/inscribe anything above the man? I understand that may incur additional cost.

Stainless steel 420 hardened to 48/50 Rockwell...pretty fucking hard...second set design is just as good...stay tuned...is price looking like it's fair?

yes price is fair imo

as for price, he said 75% of price listed on Amazon.de

the price there is 1,348.59€

5909  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Quick advice for making secure private and public bitcoin keys for micro QR code on: August 13, 2020, 05:16:31 AM
I have never used or heard of bitkey.io --- and I will preface that I am not expert by any means, I am simply relaying my experience in doing something similar to what you are doing. I will also say with the dozens that I have made that not one of the ones I have generated have been breached or had funds stolen.

I have created private keys using vanity gen on an airgapped pc that has never been online - downloaded the program to a usb drive and installed on the laptop.

can read about it and download it directly from here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Vanitygen but that was also to create vanity addresses at the same time.

if you dont need vanity addresses, you can simply use bitcoin core to generate a new address and a new private key with it.

that is a very simple process to do in bitcoin core. or even in electrum if you do not want to download the all the block history.

as for the holograms and qr codes - I have done that to dozens of chips/coins. and as small or very close to what you are suggesting - I use a browser plug in on the same air gapped pc (yes it is a brave browser extension but does not need to be online) every program I install on the airgapped pc is done via a usb drive to convert those private keys into qr codes.

as for that "mini key" i think you are referring to "firstbits" that usually references the public address - can read more about it here. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Firstbits

see pictures for one of them I did for my personal vanity gen address -- the private key is a qr code under the holo on the rear, the paper in front of the slab has the public address as typed and as a qr code.

if you want more information - please feel free to pm me or to ask here.

5911  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Alpen Coin - “Switzerland’s first ever physical bitcoin” on: August 12, 2020, 08:30:53 PM
Not this again Chicago, cotton gloves leave fuzzies behind.  Non powdered nitrile is best if you want gloves but naked and just handling the rim is 100% acceptable.  Most professional coin dealers go naked as they feel the risk of dropping the coin with gloves outweighs having gloves.

Edit to add:  I am not getting a test sample this round as they sold out prior to shipping it and ran out.  They are sending one of the next, matte, versions.

oh ok - I will try nitrile next time. I looked thru some posts and all I saw was either naked hands or cotton gloves - or what looked like cotton gloves - but you are not the first to suggest nitrile - so when I get the matte one, that is what I will use.

and yea I dropped it dozens of times with the gloves on luckily only like 2 inches to the matt below

still looking for anyone that has gotten AM to work with Innosilicon miners - specifically the A6 - I tried the instructions for the A4/A5 but made zero progress. So, either it doesnt work or I just dont understand it - entirely possible.
Just to make sure I understand case correctly - you are able to use the file editor 'vi' to open the configuration file? But from there on you are not able to make any changes?
Did you try to use the 'i' key once the file is opened in order to make it possible to type text and make modifications?

I tried everything nothing happens, nothing opens. Not sure what it is supposed to do. I have never had any innosilicon miners - I will try looking on youtube. The miner is working great, I just cant get it be picked up by AM.

Looking at the sticker on the picture and with the feedback for the issues with a fallen one while unpacking, do you guys think it's OK quality? I mean if they are falling that easily is it still worth it? I understand that the demand was pretty high for what was expected, but if it was me the producer, I would delay the delivery a bit  but send a quality products, not just throw thing in the bag and send them over just like that.
Looks not so serious.

I will see if i can get pictures of the way it was packaged - the coins were placed between two cardboard pieces that had a plastic window - I have seen coins in these before but usually the cardboard peices are stapled to hold the coin in place - these were not. I wonder if the lip inside rubbed against the holo and caused it to come off?

as I did not actually peel one, I am not sure how well the holos adhere to the coins. He did state he was going to send me another coin with better packaging (I suggest airtites) I am not sure what the new packaging is though. I am also not sure if it is one of the shiny brass that he is sending or if I will be waiting until the matte finish ones are done to get one.

He had also stated he may send one of the shiny brass ones in the second order I placed - however, that order was not for myself it was for Hookzup1 whose order shipped yesterday. Could do a peel on that one (I am not wanting to peel any of my remaining 4 coins at this time) if Hookzup1 receives it. I am curious how easily they do peel off - though as seen in the pictures, once peeled you cannot simply put it back on without it being noticeable.

edit - I think ChiBitCTy is getting one to peel as I think Lesbian Cow is as well --- I could be wrong though.

gloves received. I did just cotton gloves, makes it very hard for me to hold the coins though - had carpal tunnel in both wrists so fingers are sometimes very numb and not very sensitive. let me know if there are better gloves.

5916  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: CLOSED Raffle for Antminer S17pro 50TH/s Free Continental USA Shipping CLOSED on: August 11, 2020, 02:21:49 PM
Seller has asked me to close the raffle due to lack of interest, they will be selling the miner directly instead.
5917  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Alpen Coin - “Switzerland’s first ever physical bitcoin” on: August 11, 2020, 12:41:45 PM
Damn, missed this.  Undecided

Wondering if someone here would sell me 2-3 coins of these? Located in EU.

ask Ffrankie he posted that he bought 100 of them.

Ffrankie did not purchase 100 of them.  I was going to look in to that for him but got busy, they sold out before that happened.

Thanks MoparMining for posting the photos.  Surprised you got yours so quickly, is good to see. Look forward to receiving mine.

ahh ok - I did not know his purchase was unsuccessful - I only saw that he posted about buying that many. I thought that might have been what pushed them to being out of stock. The first 200 were sold out in just a few days though.

I will share the matte finish when I receive it (will have gloves this time) Smiley
5918  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 🧡 Ethereum Collectible Coin from Silver 🧡 [MINTEUS] on: August 11, 2020, 12:28:47 PM
€92 seems a bit steep for 1 oz of silver, specially that spot price is like €15
I understand it's limited edition, but still,  €50 euro more than what i'd be willing to pay for it

Where is this 15 euro spot silver?  I would like 5,000 ounces please.

i think spot is about 20-21 euros atm so yea 15 euros would be sweeet!
5919  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 🧡 Ethereum Collectible Coin from Silver 🧡 [MINTEUS] on: August 11, 2020, 12:21:31 PM
had you added a feature to where it could be used as a funded coin, that would have been more towards making it reach the price you seek. otherwise - no matter how nice it is, it is just a silver coin and I dont know many silver coins that are worth 4-5x spot price.

I wanted to ask - the boxes on page one - do you have any of those available?

Yes, full boxes silver finish and brass finish still in stock.   Smiley

I meant do you sell the boxes separately? I would like to hold the ones I already have.
AH I see.

Boxes are not available seperately.
I do however have one with pink Bitcore top that is almost empty, it's from a box of chips that I used to give as extra freebies or gifts.

ahh Bitcore! I hear they have a new algo coming up in Sept for cpu/gpu mining. May jump on it to increase my Bitcore Smiley
