Just out of curiosity, where do you browse for quality posts, I mean sections, the most?

b) You can possibly fool me but you can΄t "hack me". I am not an algorithm, there is no recurrent method you can use to get merit from me other that relevant and quality posting, including helping others significantly or making intelligent questions. As human, I am good at detecting patterns.

O_o .. You probably didn't got my point here. There are some undervalued sections like the mining and pools and to get Merit points there is almost impossible.
4943  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need merit... on: February 25, 2018, 01:56:20 AM
please anyone can tell me that how to earn a merit  Huh  Huh  Huh?

After a quick look at your posts, the simplest answer is: you can't.
You need to improve you English first, start understand the blockchain technology and discuss it, learn more about thinks like smart contacts, the lightning network, setting up a node etc. Just be more interested in the technology than the making money out of the signature campaigns and you'll see the change

@mdayonliner

You need to spend some more time here. Try reporting some shitposters and soon you gonna use all these "stress-releasing" words you feel offended by.

And now your abusing it im reporting you

Please feel free to report what you want. There are too many cases now for begging and trading merit, so eyes are on ppl like you, receiving merit for unvaluable posts. Maybe you didn't knew, but you should have read a little. It's information everywhere.
4947  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how do i get MERITS in Bitcointalk forum? on: February 25, 2018, 12:08:23 AM
It's possible to earn merits by making constructive posts (no begging). If you give merits, they won't be deducted from your account.

Wasn't there something about sMerits or something? A limit to the number of merits you can give?

Yeah, sMerit are the points you can send.
When you are rewarded with Merit points, you receive also half of the rewarded amount as sMerit.
There are no restrictions in sending sMerit, expect that you can send up to 50 sMerti to one account for 1 month.
You can check what I wrote here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2534500
4948  Other / Meta / Re: Btcointalk Membership ladder on: February 24, 2018, 11:05:35 PM
Thanks but I don't think you can send merit yet because you have received 1 Merit point for your post but you get only 0.5 sMerit (the one you can send).
Here is how you can send merit.
Look in the top right corner of the post and you will see this :

4949  Other / Meta / Re: what benefits can I get if giving s merit to others? on: February 24, 2018, 09:37:35 PM
What are the benefits I get, if benefiting others? maybe friends in this forum can explain

If you are already benefiting from the community by participating in the bounties/campaigns you should help the community to develop.

Why there should be benefits for every single thing here? Inst it enough benefit to be able to ask question and get answer from the people who are actually chaining the world and writing history?

Because you care only for the "Moon","lambo" and nothing more...
It's a pity to have the chance to learn sooooo much here but wasting you time only for collecting shitcoins with a hoping to be millionaire in a few years.

4950  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how do i get MERITS in Bitcointalk forum? on: February 24, 2018, 09:20:29 PM
Same question all the time, so I'm gonna quote what I wrote earlier, hope you gonna get the point

Q: Well, how to collect Merit points?
A: "You get merit points when someone sends you some for one of your posts. Additionally, when someone sends you merit points, half of those points you get as sMerti (sendable Merit) and they can be sent by you to other people."

Q: OK but c'mon, how to get Merit points on my posts?
A: There is no recipe for collecting merit but here are some guidelines the most important is to try to contribute in some way to the forum. Stay away from breaking the forum rules, learn proper English in order to communicate effectively with the community, be helpful and creative, and the last advice is: don't push it too hard, you just gonn stuck on your current rank. Improving yourself will improve your rank too, I'm sure.

Q: Who is giving these points?
A: There will be certain people called "merit sources" which will give points to quality posts. They are 49 at the moment I wrote the , see Merit Statistics link below. In addition according your rank and the merit points you have received you can also give to posts you like, so we can say that everyone can give Merit.

Q: How many points I have ?
A: Follow the link Check your merit, there you can check your points and there will be listed also the points you have recieved and for which post and the points you have given.

Q: I want to know more about the Merit Points System
A: You have to follow the Merit & new rank requirements link below, it's a long discusion there.

side note -edited quote, added extra punctuation.

I though that this is what we are trying to fight, the abuse of the system, but no consequences yet. Why?

4953  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion for new "Report to mods button" in the Show Posts list? on: February 23, 2018, 07:22:01 PM
How can you report someones profile? I meant just state that there are multiple posts that need looking into via the comment field on the report to mod button, not their trust. The thread is unnecessary really as that's what the report button is there for.
I got your point now Smiley I'll just lock this one..

It's so much information in the forum but to find what you need it's really difficult.
Learning every day...
4954  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion for new "Report to mods button" in the Show Posts list? on: February 23, 2018, 07:04:00 PM
Not sure if I understand you correctly or not but you don't really need to report every single one of his posts that are breaking the rules

What I do is when I see 3 or more posts braking the rule I just report the whole profile. That is why I have a list> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2977866

just report one and put a note in the field that there are multiple infractions if you don't want to waste time reporting them all individually.

You mean in the Trust section leaving negative or neutral comment?
Sorry for the silly questions but I'm trying to find the most efficient way to help cleaning the forum.
4955  Other / Meta / Re: The reality is 99.9% members can never rank up with the new merit system. on: February 23, 2018, 06:54:15 PM
At least 47 of your received merit came from posts that have the word merit in the title  (yah, me to...)

It does not seem in the spirit of merit to be rewarded for discussing the problems of merit.

If you had 51 merit points in that time period from discussing Bit (or alt) coin topics, then I would be impressed.

I see your point, this is true but you know why this is happening?
Because a big part of the community is not aware of the system yet. Many did't see the their merit scores at all, but when it comes a time to rank-up, then they start wondering what happens and rush to the Meta section to ask and read. When they find out, then they give some merit to test it and there, this is why the Meta is so popular these days.

This is why I suggested that everyone registered should be informed via PM about the new system in order to become more efficient in a shorter period of time.
But hey, this is my suggestion and ...who am I, just a newbie here. So we will see some development of the system soon as it becomes more and more accepted by the people.
4956  Other / Meta / Suggestion for new "Report to mods button" in the Show Posts list? on: February 23, 2018, 06:35:42 PM
I've been reporting rule-breakers for quite some time now and I think one small thing is missing to make our life a bit easier.

The problem>
When you open a shitposter like this one > example
(maybe this example is not so exact, but you gonna get the idea at least)

And you want to report some of his posts (in the example I've listed the whole profile here), then you have to open every single post and go back again*.

*Also it would be nice if after the report is sent we are redirected back to last place we were. Now after every report you are redirected to the main section and you have to click "back" in order to get back where you were.

The solution >

Adding a button that reports the post directly from the post list.

wait for it...

(^don't judge me, just playing with MSPaint)
4957  Other / Meta / Re: Difference between Activity and Posts on: February 23, 2018, 12:51:10 PM
What is the difference between activity and posts? On which factor the rank of a newbie depends? On activity or on number of posts? My activity is still 14 but post count reached to 40..

After your registration you have 14 days cycles in which you can gain up to 14 Activity points.
Every post generates you 1 Activity point but in 14 days time span you can gain up to 14 Activity points even if you have more than 14 posts.
On the day 15 the cycle restarts and you can again collect your 14 points.

Then comes the Merit system. See the infographic

Can you please explain what is this merit for? Why does one need a merit on bitcointalk?

Just quoting you for further investigation Cheesy

I do not exactly know how to get a Merit too.

And you too.

4960  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Rank, Activity, Merit and Trust points for Newbies + calculator, v2 +Infographic on: February 23, 2018, 12:11:29 PM
Just added new section for "Useful and entertaining threads".
If there are useful threads for newbies, please point them out so I can include them in the list
Planning later to rearrange everything and probably  will change the Subject line too. It's getting way toooo long now.
Reduced the size of the infographic.

Thanks. I did not realize that the merit system was so new (less than a few weeks old).  Will have patience and will keep posting to my favourite threads. Many interesting  discussions on these forums!

People's perceptions of the quality of posts follows some rules but it really varies from individual to individual.  Something that is valuable to you doesn't mean that is valuable to everyone.
