501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The best plataform to trade altcoins and why on: November 25, 2017, 06:12:30 AM
For me, I spend more and more time on Binance. The advanced trading tools are a little daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it, it stands head and shoulders above most of the other ones I've tried.
502  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is the main goal of human is happiness? on: November 25, 2017, 06:09:14 AM
Everybody wants happiness. I don't think any sets out to be unhappy, but we all have different ideas of how to get there. Some focus on work/career, or money, but neither of those are usually satisfying.

How many people do you know that truly love their jobs? Unfortunately most don't, because they're just working to make a living, not because it's their passion.

Also, money doesn't buy happiness. Like they say - more money, more problems. The rich are often pretty miserable, because it becomes hard to make new fiends and trust people. When you're rich, everybody wants a piece of you, so you start to distrust everyone, and live in fear that somebody is coming to steal your wealth/hurt you/hurt your family. So they lock themselves up behind barbed wire fences, in their ivory towers.

Most people just want recognition and a sense of purpose. Doing something that helps others, or creating. After all, creating is in our DNA - be it art, tech, business or babies. For me it's doing, or creating things that make my (not going to lie, charity starts at home) and other people's lives better. Making people smile and experience something new.

504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: The upcoming Amazon X Token - amazonexchange.net on: November 25, 2017, 04:41:04 AM
are you affiliated with Amazon or do you just use their name?

I doubt that they're affiliated with Amazon. These guys need to be careful, because Amazon doesn't play. The logo on the site uses the Amazon typeface, which unless this is an Amazon project (highly doubtful), would be copyright infringement.

Amazon has deep pockets and an army of lawyers, and certainly wouldn't announce the launch like this.

Playing with fire here guys.
505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [HMT] Hamster Marketplace - Campaign Thread - Bounty Information - HMSTR.IO on: November 25, 2017, 04:05:30 AM
Hi dev team, any answers for my questions? I'm an investor, not a fudder, so would like to find out more before I consider dropping money into the token sale hat.

Project looks pretty interesting, and a good alternative to the eBay and Amazon monopolies...three quick questions...

Will the platform exclusively sell goods from startups and smaller firms?

Will the products be focused on tech products, or will there be a wider gamut?

What will the fulfillment model look like?

Appreciate any feedback you can provide.

I guess the dev team aren't interested in answering questions, or getting buyers for their tokens. Not off to a very good start guys, but I guess the silence indirectly answers the concerns I have. Pass.
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PASC] PascalCoin, true deletable blockchain - V2 protocol active! on: November 25, 2017, 04:01:07 AM
This coin will be soon worth around 0.03$, do not bother mining it

LOL, you're funny. It's having a pretty good rally at the moment; it was trading around $0.20 a week or two ago, and is now at $0.618341. You may be on your own in that sentiment. Don't mistake the over-all decline of alts caused be BTC forks as an indication of the health of Pascal.
507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FLiK on: November 25, 2017, 03:53:16 AM
The last Tweet on Ryan's personal Twitter page claims "I was mentioned in variety today..." with a link to this article. http://variety.com/2017/film/news/joseph-cross-james-ponsoldt-summer-night-1202613541/

$10 for anyone that can find his name, or FliK mentioned in the article.

Actually, I can save you the effort.

Seriously, if he's posting make believe stories about being featured in articles that make no mention of him, one can only assume the worst.
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OmiseGo on: November 25, 2017, 03:28:43 AM
I've been holing on to my OMG for deal life, but I see the price slipping, then coming back a bit, only to slip some more. They haven't updated their website since the ICO, the Plasma.io hasn't been updated since July - even though it stated that updates would be frequent and coming within weeks/days, and there are just nebulous posts on Twitter. I'd like to believe that good things are coming, but what I see right now looks more like dereliction/neglect. Does anyone have any links to articles/news showing what's happening behind the scenes?
509  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is gold still relevant? on: November 25, 2017, 02:40:27 AM
Gold is a safe-haven, that performs far better in times of crises than when it's all hunky dory. Cryptos are highly volatile, can provide much higher returns on investment, but could also end-up getting banned in some countries, thus increasing the risk. A good portfolio should have a mix precious metals, traditional stocks/commodities and cryptos. Gold really comes into it's own in times or war/when society breaks down, or when caught in a conflict zone. The problem there is that you have to have in in hand for it to be any use. You may have noticed a golden barrette with little gold cubes or beads on some pilot's uniforms. The beads or cubes are small weights of gold, to be used for trading/buying safe passage if their plane goes down over hostile territory. Also, if there was ever an EMP event, you can kiss your cryptos goodbye, but gold will still be there - and more valuable than ever.
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BOUNTY] 4NEW ICO - Biggest ICO EVER!!!WEEKLY PAYOUT!!! 5,800,000 COINS!!! on: November 25, 2017, 02:12:44 AM
Joined the Telegram bounty, and considering joining the ICO - especially after seeing that the entire team are 2nd or 3rd degree connections, some of whom are connected to people I trust. Will be watching this one closely.
511  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are we living in a computer simulation? on: November 25, 2017, 02:01:47 AM
He's not the only one that believes we're in a simulation. Elon Musk has gone on record several times, and there are quite a few physicists that are also glomming on to the idea: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/are-we-living-in-a-computer-simulation/

One of the recent developments that is pushing more scientists to entertain the concept, is the growing number of physicists that are believing in membrane, or brane theory. A theory in which our universe (potentially one of many) is more akin to a piece of paper - i.e. flat, and that our three dimensional perception is actually holographic. Mathematically, this theory helps resolve some pretty big problems with our previous models. Sounds pretty nutso to you or me, but the theory is rapidly gaining traction in the scientific community: https://phys.org/news/2017-01-reveals-substantial-evidence-holographic-universe.html
512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How much do you get from airdrops - a review on: November 25, 2017, 01:48:55 AM
Why don't you participate in bounty campaings rather. I see airdrop as a waste of time without a real income be generated. Is anyone making a living from airdrop?

I doubt anyone could earn a living from airdrops. I did an experiment for a few weeks to see if I could eek out any value, and for the most part, they end up costing nearly as much in gas to transfer/trade. That said, there are exceptions. As a general rule of thumb, if it's another clone-coin with no vision, roadmap or real purpose - other than getting listed on exchanges (or BS promises of a linked credit card [I say this because if TenX had as much trouble as they did finding processing partners with the millions they raised, ETH, BTC, DASH, "insert name" clone with no real backing, doesn't stand a chance]), it will probably be worthless. I also see a lot of BS token sales with goals that are near-on impossible with the amounts they're trying to raise. Bounty campaigns tend to be far better, especially when tied to a credible ICO. Ultimately you need to be selective, and pick the ones that look like they might amount to something over time.

Another BIG red flag to look out for, is drops tied to an ICO, that get distributed before the conclusion of the token sale. That instantly kills any credibility in my mind, as it devalues the token before it's even launched, often resulting in traders on Etherdelta getting the tokens cheaper than people are paying for them via the official site.
513  Economy / Services / Re: twitter bad follower removal on: November 25, 2017, 01:29:48 AM
That's pretty messed-up if Twitter will deactivate you for blocking accounts. It should be your choice as to whether you want certain followers or not. I always block spammers and porn accounts. haven't had any problems yet, but will make a stink if they disable me for that.
514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RIALTO.AI Cryptocurrency Arbitrage and Market Maker ★ OFFICIAL THREAD ★ on: November 24, 2017, 06:10:38 PM
Interestingly it's up nearly 16% today. I was messaging the Tierion team a few days ago, asking about them getting listed on other exchanges. Two days later they launched on Binance and Huobi, which doubled the TNT price over night. Pleasant coincidence, but it certainly put a smile on my face.

Rialto team, if you're listening, we need real exchanges - not just Etherdelta and Livecoin.
515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [AIRDROP] To ALL ETH Wallets VIU Token Video Platform Airdrop 🚀🚀🚀 on: November 24, 2017, 06:02:37 PM
Hi, can I get an airdrop for my wallet? 0x4f28937aDD95F37C066Bc45BAF51811d8563Cea9

The airdrop is wrapped. It was automated and dropped to random Ethereum account holders. I don't think they're doing any manual sends, it's just luck of the draw as to whether you received it.
516  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC can reach 8000USD or not? (Share your opinion) on: November 24, 2017, 05:38:09 AM
So...Now that Bitcoin is firmly sticking around the $8000 mark, how long do you guys think it will take to hit $10,000.00?

  • Mid/End of December 2017
  • Feb - March 2018
  • June - July 2018
  • End of 2018
  • 2019+
  • Never
517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY][PRE-ICO] Emphy - Decentralized lodging ecosystem on: November 24, 2017, 05:30:28 AM
Thank you Emphy dev team. Confirming receipt of tokens for the bounty campaigns. Look forward to tracking your success.

BTW, any updates on exchange listings? Happy to help submit requests, if it needs a bit of community support.

Good luck!
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Building Team for IoT Focused Cyrptocurrency on: November 24, 2017, 12:03:25 AM
Hello!

I've been mining, trading and investing in cryptocurrencies, and developing test ECR20 contracts for about six months now, all of it leading towards my main goal of using technology, specifically blockchain technology, to solve some of the biggest and most profound problems of our times. This is not about getting rich quick (although financial independence is something I think we all aspire to), it is about solving real world problems that our governments are failing to address.

With this in mind, I have created an initial smart contract (that was the easy part), have a website and white-paper in development, and have started building a team to help bring the vision to reality.

The goal is to launch a token sale, the proceeds of which will be held in escrow to pay the team, fund development, and provide liquidity for the company (that will be setup shortly, as a US based corporation). In the spirit of decentralization, the team should be global, and draw from the experience of the crypto-community.

As such, I'm reaching out here to find experts in the following fields:

  • IoT hardware development
  • InfoSec/Infrastructure Management/DDoS Protection, etc.
  • Blockchain/advanced smart contract development (project will use a side-chain, along with the main token contract)
  • Marketing
  • Social Media
  • Business Development
  • Legal Representation (must be highly knowledgable on all facets of SEC regulations)

We're only interested in people with a proven and verifiable track record, that can provide references, valid (well established) LinkedIn accounts with careers in reputable firms. If you fit the bill, we'd love to hear from you. PM me and provide some background information, so that we can start a conversation and get NDAs signed.

In addition, we will also be looking for moderators and promoters for Telegram, Bitcointalk, Reddit, Twitter etc. These roles will be treated like bounty campaigns, but paid out at a far higher rates than for those of regular participants.  Moderators must be fluent in English, have impeccable written communication skills. Respondents should have a BTT status of Member, or higher. Applicants with negative trust ratings will be immediately disqualified.

For obvious reasons the vision will not be revealed until the official announcement.
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Get out of ethereum while you still can! on: November 23, 2017, 10:01:49 PM
In case you've all been sleeping for the last week, Ethereum is booming. Yes, there are a ton of scam tokens build on Ethereum, but that will happen with any platform offering smart contracts - or using cloned mining scripts. What we need is smarter and more informed people, that aren't so gullible or desperate to make a penny that they lavish praise all over this forum on projects that are obvious scams.
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: November 23, 2017, 09:50:29 PM
Ripple is definitely one for the long haul. If you see it drop back to the $0.2 mark, buy more and HODL. It will only be a matter of time before it hits the $0.5+ range.
