Hello everyone great news
I received my refund in bitcoin for the amount of 2880 to my address
I provided my address publicly in this thread so anyone that wants to can verify

Good to hear that! As far as I remember, you asked for refund and provided them address on 14th or 15th of November, am I right?

So it took Carol around 3 weeks to refund you. That is okay I guess...

Also, I think there will be a lot more refunds coming in soon, I literally got a push notification on my phone while I was at Uni and saw that ETH and BTC are up around 3% and my first thought was:"OMG, imagine if Bitmain is gonna use this spike to refund" but now I am thinking that Bitmain is responsible for this spike...

BTC 24h Volume spiked from steady 15B in last 24h to up to 19B as of writing this reply.

504  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: December 04, 2019, 06:08:16 AM
How much do you wanna bet that they will add sleep mode and/or Low Power mode in firmware for 17e models as soon as btc halving happens?
505  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: December 03, 2019, 11:57:04 PM
There are no "power settings" per se. You just power it on and it works on default speed (auto detects best frequency and power draw (voltage), as far as I can see). In General settings you can only edit pool info. But as usual you can access Advanced Settings by typing:

Code:
http://192.168.0.12/cgi-bin/minerAdvanced.cgi

instead of:

Code:
http://192.168.0.12/cgi-bin/minerStatus.cgi

However, miner totally ignores any frequency you give to it and forwards with its auto-speed default setting.
Frequency usually ranges between 423 and 438.
Also as I said previously, it has this line near the end of Kernel Log:

Code:
frequency.c:161:get_ideal_hash_rate_GH: ideal_hash_rate = 66971

Which probably indicates it's target speed. So far after few restarts, it worked between 68 and 67 TH/s, however, after 24h or so, it would drop to around 66 TH/s which is still higher than rated 64 TH/s that is also indicated near the end of Kernel Log via this line:

Code:
frequency.c:180:get_sale_hash_rate_GH: sale_hash_rate = 64000
506  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Special thread concerning bitmains coupons refunds discounts. on: December 03, 2019, 01:02:39 PM
That's odd from Carol to say if you specifically asked for refund but as I do not know what you wrote to them, she may have just given you that option and tried to persuade you to go for it instead of refund.

If you specifically asked for refund. I would answer with something in lines of: "(As of now,) I am unable to make USD transfer orders. Thank you for understanding." or "I would rather have my credit refunded. Thank you in advance".

That should work.

If it does not. Ask for another staff in a new ticket. Bella is awful in my opinion and Carol is awesome, it's hard for me to believe that she would push you too far to give up on refund.
507  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain is taking paypal !!!! on: December 01, 2019, 12:04:03 AM
I don't think it's an option anymore. I saw Phil post about it elsewhere, probably been a week or 2 since they stopped.

Edit: Looks like it was sometime around the 21st

Yeah, I haven't seem that thread at all. Thanks for info and reference. I found out that last time they accepted PayPal was for S17+ when I entered it's hidden webpage.
508  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain is taking paypal !!!! on: November 29, 2019, 09:52:02 PM
Is there still an option for PayPal payment as I do not see it myself?

If there is, does it go under USD wire or is it limited to USA&EU?
509  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: November 27, 2019, 10:51:50 PM
Due to stupidity of customs in my country, I've just received my S17e which should have been at my place at 15th of November.

However, I will try to avoid swearing and spitting on my country's customs and give you some useful info.

It's been running for 3 hours on ViaBTC (due to their current discounts and gifts, however I will switch it to Slushpool as soon as the event finishes).

Unit came with Nov 2 firmware which I guess is newest and it started at 68TH/s and slowly went down to 67.3TH/s (will see how much it goes down but I guess it will not go below 66.9 due to my next sentence).

Here is a Kernel Log code explaining why it probably will not go under 66.9 and some avg temps:

Code:
2019-11-27 19:48:02 frequency.c:161:get_ideal_hash_rate_GH: ideal_hash_rate = 66971
2019-11-27 19:48:02 frequency.c:180:get_sale_hash_rate_GH: sale_hash_rate = 64000
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2019-11-27 22:18:19 thread.c:188:calc_hashrate_avg: avg rate is 67203.41 in 30 mins
2019-11-27 22:18:19 temperature.c:465:temp_statistics_show:   pcb temp 35~61  chip temp 55~70
2019-11-27 22:48:21 thread.c:188:calc_hashrate_avg: avg rate is 67323.05 in 30 mins
2019-11-27 22:48:21 temperature.c:465:temp_statistics_show:   pcb temp 34~61  chip temp 55~69

I will measure power usage tomorrow and will edit this post when I get actual numbers.
510  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Special thread concerning bitmains coupons refunds discounts. on: November 22, 2019, 05:52:31 PM
One month to process a refund?!?!!

I won't be surprised at all when BTC price mysteriously spikes right before everyone gets their refunds processed...

Actually, I do not mind waiting for 2 reasons. Firstly, I am getting my money back. Secondly, (I look forward to BTC drop so I can enter with even more cash) even if it jumped back to 8-9k $ I wouldn't mind as I think I placed order at around 10k $.

I am totally lost in the meaning of Bitmain reps response.
Invoice says that there is a large difference (about $2000) in the value of order vs current invoice (paid in btc, but they count $$ value).

-snip-

Not sure why they are OK to provide refund to some here, but not in my case. What is the difference?
I paid initially in bitcoin.

I would suggest you opening a new ticket and asking for Carol or any other support staff. But I am not familiar with your case so they just might not refund you at all.
511  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Special thread concerning bitmains coupons refunds discounts. on: November 22, 2019, 02:58:38 PM
I've been in contact with Bella from their support and I've already publicly complained about her and I've sent feedback for here too.
After opening new ticket and directly asking for Carol to take this ticket instead of any other support member, she answered me in matter of hours (instead of days as Bella usually does) and she was swift and easy to communicate with.

After exactly 2 emails we agreed on everything and the same mail has been sent to me as it has been sent to you:

Quote
Hello Filip,

Thanks for your consultation!

We have initiated the refund, please wait patiently, thanks.

Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Best regards,
Carol
BITMAIN

And before that she informed me about everything any person asking for refund should know:

Quote
Dear Filip,

Good day to you.

We will handle the refund with the following info, please kindly help to do the final confirm.
Please take note that it usually cost 1 month for the process and the USD will be transferred to BTC according to the real time exchange rate when our finance team doing the refund.

Order ID: 0012-------
Amount: 853USD
BTC wallet address: 12--------yLY----------pe---

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Best regards,
Carol
Bitmain

So, in conclusion (TL;DR), with Bella, I wasted around 2 weeks of going back and forward and her last email was her trying to push me into making a new order and using credits EVEN AFTER I openly told her that I cannot pay with PayPal or USDwire and I am only making purchases with BTC. I stopped answering to that support ticket and gave bad feedback as mentioned above.

However, with Carol, it took me exactly 18 hours (of which I slept 8 hours) to come to agreement.

This line was discussed here a lot, and I am happy to hear that from Bitmain!
Will contact Carol again since Bella is not answering her mails and even though I was offer a refund, she forces me to open a new order and use my credit there. After successfully obtaining my money, I will go to their support and complain about their staff but until then, I will be silent.

Not sure why pictures do not work but you can go to link. This is the email that I just got from Bitmain, explaining my 201$ and others as well.

https://imgur.com/G9X55fy

However, Bella from Bitmain is still forcing me to use my credit instead of refunding it and this is her latest response:

Quote
Hello Filip,

Thanks for your consultation!
now we have spot order of S17 Pro and T17, S9k, all have a good price.
if you want a new order to use the credit, will be better than refund because that refund process is a little long.
Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Best regards,
Bella
BITMAIN

I am still going forward with refund, even though I plan to reuse those funds. Mainly because they do not accept it for BTC orders, but as well as a matter of principle.
515  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Special thread concerning bitmains coupons refunds discounts. on: November 19, 2019, 08:35:10 AM
Guys you should not accept those 10% coupons, protest and keep sending them emails, that is a rip off ,  even if you get to make a large order and make use of 100% the coupon value it still does not make sense , you are very likely to save more money buying other coupons and applying them on each miner than getting a 10% or a 689$ on a 7000$ order.

Look, I'll gladly accept free coupons as long as they fully refund my credits or accept it on BTC order. Otherwise I will keep opening tickets.
516  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Special thread concerning bitmains coupons refunds discounts. on: November 19, 2019, 02:12:04 AM
Well boys
I got my 853$ difference for my first s17e pre order
And I got my 800$ difference for the second one
It came in a form of coupon for 689 and 682 and it can be used to deduct a maximum 10% of my orders price
This is a f...... joke ?

Edit also they expire Jan 31 2020

Similar thing here. Got 201$ coupon (probably from my S17e) however, they still owe me around 652$ if I remember correctly. They might have sent it in BTC, but I cannot currently check.

Also, mine are expiring in the same time as yours.
So February it is for new units. (Actually, when I think twice about it... 201$ with max 10% of order value, does this mean that there might be new units of 2010$ or more coming? Or it could just be 7 days shipping S17+.)

However I am confident that new units are on the way(possibly in February/March). S17x? S17++? S19?

Then what is this meant to mean?

Your order is shipped out and here is the tracking info for your reference, thanks.
User Carrier: Fedex
Carrier: Fedex
Tracking No:--------

In addition, now you have credit of 853USD, you can choose to use it in your new orders or refund. If you choose refund, you need to provide a valid BTC wallet address, thanks.

Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Best regards,
Carol
BITMAIN

Also, I do not use PayPal as it is highly restricted in my country, so that is not a good option for me.
They will either have to refund me or they will have to deduct that amount from next BTC order that I make.
I will fight for refund as long as I can!
518  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Special thread concerning bitmains coupons refunds discounts. on: November 18, 2019, 10:34:38 AM

I answered that it is not okay and I requested my refund again!

If Bella does not cooperate, I will open a new ticket and request another member of staff.
519  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Special thread concerning bitmains coupons refunds discounts. on: November 17, 2019, 04:03:28 PM
he asked me to buy mine, told me im new and to send him coupons first because of that and he will send me the funds after
I sent him a link to my ebay listing at a pre agreed price, never msg me again nor did he buy them thru ebay/paypal

Getting merit from -3 Trust account for WTS thread... I wouldn't trust him with a penny.

Features...
Ignores dead chips
safe for immersion will ignore 0 rpm fan errors
max temp shutdown control
Frequency control
Voltage Control
No DevFee license only
Fan Control
Sleep, Normal, Turbo Modes

"Ignores dead chips"? Does it mean if my miner(S17 Pro) finds 46 chips instead of 48 and shuts down that hashboard, this can be avoided via your firmware?

Also, is this firmware available for S17/S17Pro/S17e?
