501  Economy / Lending / Re: (WTS/T) 225.98 BTC of Bad Debt on: April 22, 2013, 11:57:07 PM
F*CK YOU, I couldn't even borrow 10 bitcoins in this goddamned site easily, and you're telling me you loaned out that much to some wacko?

At the time of these loans, the amount was close to 10btc (in usd.) Also, the community was very different then and credit was cheap due to pirate and others.
502  Economy / Lending / (WTS/T) 209 BTC of Defaulted Loans/Bad Debt for 9 BTC O.B.O. on: April 22, 2013, 10:29:29 PM
I have some debt for (re)sale or trade. I would like some activity on this front, I haven't had time to devote to it until now. I'm either going to pursue this debt fully, in partnership, or not at all and sell it. Debt is owed in BTC however, at current rates full collection would be approximately $26k or £17k. I'm entertaining ALL offers including recovery percentage sharing, investigative services, collection offers, etc. All lenders have been very helpful and I will provide to you what they provided to me if you purchase (PMs, etc.) To a citizen in the U.K., this could be a very good deal. Likewise, to a saavy researcher elsewhere, there is value here. The Chicko debt is a *bonus.* Smiley

Total Debt: BTC209.98
Asking Price: BTC9

Some selling points:
  • Both DI and Girlfriend are very active on public facebook pages
  • Digital trail is a mile long with activity on a blog, forums, and other misc. gaming sites
  • Very distinct grammar and term usage that could be searched
  • Identity of some family members is known
  • Multiple aliases are known, and he is perhaps still active on these forums under a different name
  • He is relatively conversant and willing to discuss the matter
  • Admins have IP address that could be creatively used to link DI by location and date
  • He owes others including Goat and Giga and dozens for shirts that were not delivered, they may be willing to help
  • He has been mining on his hardware for over a year and may have a stash of bitcoins

Negatives:
  • He is quick to hide behind a british harassment law that he cited, but I’m unsure if it actually applies to criminal debt
  • Claims someone stole his identity to do this
  • I do not have any phone numbers or addresses, but they could be found easily
  • The kid has no real job
  • Family has money, but he was 19 when he perpetrated the crime, so unsure of liability

Thanks for looking!

Hmm... this looks like a nice replacement for p2pmining.com. Do you think mining from the US will impact performance much?
505  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! 841 / 782.1 BTC Pledged! on: April 18, 2013, 08:42:34 PM
I would suggest someone else facilitate the group buy if escrow is not an option. Perhaps a party more reputable that offers escrow would be willing to facilitate it for their escrow price. $80k is a pretty large incentive for "misunderstandings" to occur.
506  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! 555 / 782.1 BTC Pledged! on: April 18, 2013, 01:11:43 PM
I would be very hesitant to send this person any BTC based on his history on hardforums and elsewhere.
507  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: EPiSKiNG-'s COINS!! BUYING / SELLING BTC - USA on: April 17, 2013, 07:32:42 PM
I've dealt with Episking several times, he's a very honest trader.

511  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Questions About Running 220V for Rigs.. on: April 11, 2013, 03:34:48 AM
If you have a good electrician, which it sounds like you do, just ask him. Yes, it can be done and is done... there are several threads already about running on 220/240/250v. With 12-14 machines, I would think that cooling would be a more significant concern for you. Good luck.

wow, a month later... have you heard anything from them?
513  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: VGA cards in mineral oil, remove heatsink and fans or leave them on? on: March 26, 2013, 02:58:20 PM
To clarify... are you pumping mineral oil through a water-cooling system or simply submerging into a tub? If submerging, you need to leave the heatsinks on. Just think of the oil as very efficient air, you still need a heatsink. I've seen setups that leave the fans on as well, but the thickness of the oil would likely burn them out after a while, due to enhanced stress and slower spinning speeds.

Ok, so the award is completely random or is it determined by the score? I'm confused as to what determines a "win."
