521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 21, 2021, 09:26:39 PM
Ben Simmons now officially not reporting to training camp. Seems Vegas is betting he値l be on the Minnesota Timberwolves before the season starts. I知 still thinking Sacramento but we値l see. I was surprised to hear JJ Redick retired officially today also. One of the better shooters in NBA history. He値l be missed.

Very interesting.

I wonder if the 76ers will take further action when it comes to this stuff.

They seem to say in media releases that they do plan on fining Ben Simmons if he doesn't turn up to training camp. But the fine seems so small that it really doesn't make a difference to Ben. I agree that Sacramento is the prime destination for him right now.
522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blockchain and Gambling on: September 21, 2021, 08:50:39 PM
Yeah, the immutability of smart contracts on the blockchain is certainly a plus when it comes to settling bets.

Also you could potentially host games that depend on outcomes randomly generated by the blockchain itself.

Chain-bet has a cool feature where you can bet on the last digit of block hashes. Certainly worth taking a lot at.
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHIB the new tough competitor to DOGE on: September 20, 2021, 03:30:57 AM
I don't think so.

They appeal to two different camps. Even though they are both meme coins I think that the target audience is just so different.

Also, Doge has been along for quite a while more and has actually got some integrations with merchants, exchanges, etc. that SHIB simply does not have. And not to mention the massive premine that Vitalik holds of SHIB.
524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can Cardano achieve $ 5 ? on: September 20, 2021, 03:01:08 AM
I think that at the end of the day, the ADA network is probably going to be subject to similar issues if adoption actually picks up.

ETH2.0 holds a lot of potential and could shut down this narrative that ADA will flip ETH as a matter of time.

I would definitely hold Cardano as a hedge in case ETH gas fees stays high, but $5 seems out of the question for now given the bear market is looming.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holding 5 years a just a imagination on: September 20, 2021, 02:40:52 AM
This is why diversification is important?

You don't want to just be bagholding one or two coins that could completely destroy your long term position if they fail - you want to be holding 10, 20 coins that are well established/have good prospects across multiple usage cases.

NEM also suffered a historical failure, which is part of the reason why its price is suppressed.
526  Economy / Economics / Re: How would Bitconia look like? on: September 20, 2021, 12:35:20 AM
I agree with you.

There is absolutely no need for a sovereign state to be running off bitcoin or blockchain.

BTC/other cryptos can simply serve as an alternative currency for those who realize that fiat is going to continuously depreciate in value & would rather want to store their wealth in a decentralized vehicle.
527  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥Sportbook and Casino: BITSLER > $10,000 DAILY Wagering contest < on: September 19, 2021, 11:58:19 PM
Hello

I just want to warn people about bitsler and there giant scam,

I really dont know were to start but let start with there scammy casino. First they claim its provable fair its not. If you want proof look your self or just play i little on the site. I am diamond member and i can promise you that its a scam and many many people will agree with me.

Massive withdrawl fees 40$ for bitcoin withdrawal 16 for eth and other crazy amount they charge tons and for something that costs 90% less . They do this to make more money after they just have stolen from you.

There sports are a joke they have tons of technical problems in which they have rule that states if you loose due to a technicalproblem its your fault not the casinos. Its mostly a rule that says they can scam you and blame technical problems every time. I contacted the chat and they said its not a scam because its in there rules lol.

And the last is the tons of fake reviews they try to post on sites its obvuis they are posted at same time because of there crazy6 number of bad review they have to try to make ones  to clear out bad ones but even with all fake outs there feedback score on review sites is below 3 stars. They also report bad reviews as fake and more,

List goes on and on check out the tons of other bad reviews and scam complaints

Where is the proof?

You claim that they are not provably fair but how have you figured that out?

In terms of the withdrawal fees, yes it's high. But why are you complaining about it now? Did you just find out?

Never had problems with Bitsler myself.
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot vs Video Poker on: September 18, 2021, 10:24:49 PM
Slots would definitely fit into the category of requiring "little to no skill".

You can probably also play video poker with little skill but you're not going to be getting the optimal RTP out of doing that.

If you are indeed planning on playing video poker then you should probably consider learning some basic strategies to deal with different types of patterns. That way, you are able get the house edge down to 0.5% or less in most variants of the game (positive RTP is pretty rare even in physical casinos).
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: G A M B L E R S ❗❗ What are your thoughts on this? on: September 18, 2021, 09:21:17 PM
Casino A all the way.

I don't have the patience to have to play against others or to have to train up myself before I can play the Peer vs Peer brand of the game.

And I think that generally, when people want to gamble, they are simply seeking a quick entertainment and not anything extended. They don't want to have to install an app, enter a training tutorial, and wait for people to come online.
530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Probability is not the reason for your loss on: September 18, 2021, 08:54:39 PM

ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT PROBABILITY IS JUST A GUIDE THAT WILL INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. Its not a cheat-code that will guarantee your win every now and then.

I've seen people blaming probabilities, wether they put their trust and still lost, or lose all of their trust to probability just because that one game didn't play like what they want it to be.

Use probability wisely, and you will surely appreciate and honor its abilities.

Actually, in the long run, probability IS the reason for your loss.

Sure, in the short term variance is going to trump any sort of expected value but in the long run it's the EV that matters.

If you don't believe in these basic probabilities and you think that you are able to somehow circumvent the negative EV of games that you're playing, you're delusional and will likely lose out big time in the long run.
531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Arizona has legalized fantasy sports betting! on: September 17, 2021, 08:32:53 PM
I知 just now finding out that last week Arizona changed their stance on sites like DraftKings for online sports betting. It seems like states are legalizing things that bring them revenue at a pretty good clip. I知 particularly happy about this one though, as I致e had money stuck on my DraftKings account for a long time now. I might have to get into fantasy sports.

Yeah, it makes a lot of sense to legalize these things.

Tax revenue is obviously a huge concern that is in favour of legalising these things. Another thing is enforcement costs - there are a ton of fantasy sports sites and services that pop up each year and it's simply unfeasible to try to shut them all down if you are banning them.

Definitely the right move, and great for the players too. Gives them a lot more freedom as to what they want to play on.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think I have a gambling problem on: September 17, 2021, 12:08:55 PM
Hey guys! I just wanted to make this post to see whether or not you think that what I do for fun has turned into a problem, let me set the scene.

I started online gambling a while ago, at first CSGO skins gambling, then crypto gambling. I havnt lost a lot yet, but I honestly think its a problem. My idea of fun nowadays is booting up NordVPN, going to Stake, depositing crypto into the website, and gambling. I spend hours gambling, I dont lose much, but I also dont win much, I split even almost every night. But its all I can think about sometimes, when Im at school I think about gambling im gonna do when I get home. But I think my gambling might get me in trouble, im not even 18 (4 years away from it) yet and its almost all I think about sometimes. Do you guys think I should make an effort to quit?

CSGO is definitely one of the gateways to problem gambling.

I'd say that you have to realize that the road ahead is still long. Learn about how to invest for the long term instead of trying to make multiple thousand percent trades/bets in one day. Understand that wealth creation is not an overnight thing and a lot of that is due to the survivorship bias created by media.

You definitely need to make an effort now before it's too late to quit/you run into deep financial issues.
533  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase raises $2 billion in junk bond sale on: September 17, 2021, 11:50:18 AM
Not sure what to make of this.

These people have an irrational confidence in Coinbase for absolutely no reason in my opinion. To risk billions of capital at 3% at such a volatile market that is rapidly evolving away from the centralized exchange model is utterly riduculous.

There is still a LOT of disruption left in this space. Coinbase is not the big dog. No doubt about that.
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concern about the the problem of online underaged gamblers. on: September 16, 2021, 02:36:37 AM
It's certainly a valid concern.

However, I think that a lot of media opinions surrounding this topic is clearly blown out of proportion and sensationalised.

Also, not all the onus should be on the casino. Sure, there should be implementations of voluntary self-exclusion schemes, for instance, but you can't enforce any ban on underaged gambling with 100% certainty - there are bound to be people who slip through the nets.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling awareness for adolescents on: September 16, 2021, 01:48:07 AM
I think it's an excellent initiative.

At the end of the day you should provide an unbiased judgement to them. The more educated they are regarding the issue of gambling, the more likely they will make informed and responsible decisions.

Talk about the mathematics & house edge that will make them lose in the long run. But also prove that responsible gambling is okay is moderation.
536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Book/Website Suggestions ? on: September 15, 2021, 11:50:51 PM
My father loved to gamble, and was a big Blackjack player.  He was an incredibly smart guy, and always did his homework before ever doing anything at all.  That was no different when it came to gambling.  I remember seeing him read several Blackjack books, which was his favorite game to play.  Do you guys own any good gambling books or know of any website where you can learn skills to play certain games like Blackjack, Poker etc?

I watch Blackjack Apprenticeship on Youtube and he's a pretty entertaining channel.

You can certainly learn something when it comes to card counting but at the end of the day just don't view it as a long term profit making venture. Your time is likely going to be worth much more than what you'd gain from playing blackjack professionally.

Especially with the demise of physical casinos, I don't even think it's worth it to learn card counting unless it's just a hobby.
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling tax proposal in Ukraine on: September 15, 2021, 11:32:17 PM
This makes absolutely no sense and will clearly flop if implemented.

They think that this is enforceable in the long run but it really isn't - people will simply move to underground/black markets to get their bets processed.

I thought that Ukraine was somewhat progressive when it comes to these things given their recent attitude towards crypto - but I guess I thought wrong.
538  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Exchanges See Large Bitcoin Outflows BTC balance of Coinbase on: September 11, 2021, 07:54:10 PM
People are understanding that Coinbase is a custodial service and therefore not a good way to store coins in the long run - it's as simple as that.

The outflow doesn't mean anything more. It doesn't mean that people are selling bitcoin or whetever as they would need coins on exchanges in order to do that.

Bullish news in my view, although it is likely already priced in.
539  Economy / Economics / Re: One of the wrong statements about bitcoin again but from Nigerian EFCC Chairman on: September 10, 2021, 05:53:05 AM
Unfortunately, his scheme will not work.

Good money drives out bad money - it is one of the most fundamental truisms of Economics.

When people have realized and woken up to good money, there is absolutely nothing you can do to keep that under the table. Creating an imitation currency that is similar to, but not exactly decentralized cryptocurrencies does not help the cause. It's still Naira, an eternally depreciating currency by the looks of it.
540  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you scared? on: September 10, 2021, 05:29:58 AM
You should probably take a long hard look at yourself if you got spooked by this "dump".

It's barely a blip in the big picture.

Price action is still very bullish in the long run and there is virtually no change in the fundamentals. If you are a true long term believer of bitcoin then you should not have reacted at all and just held onto your position. This was just a long squeeze that was due to occur due to overleveraging.
