I am focusing. 1kW 1TH is good to focus.
522  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 1THS,1000W, Bitcoin miner coming. on: February 09, 2014, 07:41:41 PM
On what chips will these be based?
Avalon gen 2 i think.
Avalon v.2 draws 1kW for 220GH, no way they do 1TH on 1000W

i would say Coincraft A1 as they perfectly fit the 1W/GH figure

Exactly. You need 640 chips Avalon 2 to do 1GH and eaven with 800 chips undervolted they draw more than 1kw.
All the pics are 220GH two blade Avalons.

Hello,

I'm looking for an ASIC (or several) with a Mhash/s/$ ratio greater than 200, available quickly.
I am not limited by budget. What do you advise me?

Thank you.

Only thing you can get.

first 1THS machine on open market.pls follow it.

I am confused.

Is this 1TH/s or 220GH/s?

Many confused now. How can 2 blades be 1TH/s
320 of Avalon chips is 460GH/s 1500oc
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 08, 2014, 09:26:21 PM
Extra "Plan B" hashrate for customers won't mean much if they wait until after Q2 to give it to us.

Now if they give it to us the moment the mega center is complete, then KnC is officially the best company out there hands down.

Hopefully it is turned on in the order the various batches were sold.

Unless they have fabbed out the new 28nm chips already.  Then there's no chance of giving us the hashrate by mid-April.  Which is when it needs to come online to ROI in bitcoin at current average difficulty growth.  Also, I wonder if they'll be using a new IC design for these new 28nm chips.  If so and it's more efficient than the old design.  Then why don't they offer us to take delivery of the equivalent hashrate with the new 28nm chips.  Instead of waiting for the 20nm chips.  Just ship us the racks that they'll be hosting I say.  If they design new more efficient 28nm chips and boards.
They were making over 800 boards a day (shipping 200 Jupiters a day @ 650+Gh/s each)during November... 3.6 peta(3 batches of 1200) by April or June (end of q2) isn't a problem.
With those numbers... 650 Gh/s x 200/ day is 130Th/s a day....  they could have the entire 3.6 peta-hash whipped out in 28 days, based on OLD numbers.

No problem there... The challenge is.... can the data center be erected in time?... probably not... But with the current facility, and a couple smaller temps.... It could be done.... BUT   They need to have already started, and not wait until they "know for sure" Neptune is going to be late to dinner.... (Which we all know, they DO know, or the news and announcement would have never been given.)
So..... why not?....  they could be leasing any number of buildings, and have not shared any details... 15 mil profit made from Jupiter means they don't even need to touch Neptune money to do it. So all this conjecture and FUD is simply from fear....  and calculation!.... but wait!!! Calculation based on what?  Nobody knows what the offer is, or when.  It could be 5 th/s hosted beginning in April hosted for a year or until Neptune ships... The simple fact is we don't know! We made boo-coo from the Jupiter...and they are still pumpin'  (Some miners better than others)so give them a chance....  they are honoring refunds, and you will kick yourself in the ass if the offer is a good one, and you bailed already.... especially if you've been cashing out your coin as you made it, or on high-points.. and coin goes to 2 grand or above.... and calculating profit based on BTC return is ludicrous, because no calculator can show us ROI in BTC on ANY miner ANYWHERE, anytime soon.  Just sayin'    Either way... whatever you decide... Good luck.

My wellbeing or economy is not tied to btc anyway. Its hobby.

Its evident now KNC is months away from delivering and eaven myself i got some TH/s rolling with Avalon chips now. Bitmain antminers coming... 3-4TH/s is my target and i make it before KNC ships out anything....seems like KNC is in trouble but what good can this mega hashing centre bring to the bitcoinworld cmon 50% network hash rolled out at once. Its still 3600 coins per day.

Fair to say none knows whats gonna happen to bitcoin in next 2-3 months but to sustain this all cumulative expectations or ROI bitcoin need few Billions of $$$ flowing in to payoff all the new hardwares.. ppl seem to froget ROI and price gainis only paid off with new fiat money flowing in to bitcoin network... what happens if fiat money income wont meet the hardware flow... we might have 200$ bitcoin by the time KNC ships out... i am gonna be at right path..

Expectations of 30% difficulty hops every change and to keep BTC price steady needs Fiat money flowing in.

So many ppl in here are in gold fever expecting only profits and $$$  Roll Eyes some will suffer.

Now the hash fluctuates from 50-170. Didn't really do anything asides from restart the miner. I'll try some other pools and see if I can get better averages.

post cgminer api log to see what workers are failing

so when ordered diretly at Bitmain, its shipped 8th
and when ordered here, its shipped 11th, but with better warranty?

Correct, plus better customer service

Bitmaintech promise. They start to ship at 8th... when they get back to work. English not my main but i read that they may not ship at 8th. Least no quarantee.
The shipping of this batch will be started on Feb 8th, 2014, right after the Chinese New Year. Bitmain ships very fast.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=425113.msg4906816#msg4906816

Sushi stated previously (other thread) Bitmain has sold out 8th - 10th shipments already.
Bitmain staff are on holiday so website & forums posting has not been updated.

Sushi is solid with customer support and you get faster response here.
529  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: No profit to be made even with 2TH machines? on: February 03, 2014, 10:03:29 PM

With this in mind, a 15A breaker can generally provide about 1440W of continuous power safely which currently translates to around 800GH/s of hashing power...and this is pushing it.

Here in the 1st World, we have 30A of 240V per ring, and most houses have at least two rings.  That's 7.2kW PER RING.  14.4kW per house, easily just from the sockets.

Yes agree.

Little bit more East houses have 3x 30A or 3x25A sparks.... average Sauna has 6-8kW electric stove in here.

Electricity costs 0.12euro kWh

Anyone swap out the fans yet?  Can we just use standard 120mm ones?

These fans move 200+ cfm. Most regular 120mm are under 100. Be careful using new fans.

Also can someone post their cgminer API log? Mtnminer?

Listen the man! Froget buying some computer fans that run 800rpm, your miner wont stay up 120seconds with them.

These units pull 1000w so they are effectively 1kw heaters you cannot cool them with just 2 regular computer fans. Least not in inhouse room temperature of 23-26. I run my miners in warehouse with temp below of 20c and now testing stock psu and it seems to hold the 1500 OC but it gets enough cooling. Also psu works better if not overheating...
*no ATX psu is ment to be treated 100% load stress 24/7 expect them to blow up*

For silent treatment you need the watercooling kit from Aliexpress

2 sample API logs with 1500 Overclock. New firmware 20131229
I get 3.7 and 3.7 HW errors with 1500 OC

Both of these miners have 5 dead chips.

It's hard to tell - did you just connect each end of the fuses to each other or do you actually have solder going across both ends of each fuse?

I put wire between the 2 fuses and gave enough solder to both ends to melt it with good contact.
That is effectively same as removing the fuses, but fuses held the wire between them nicely so no need to remove them. Those fuses are only to protect board but who needs fuses  Roll Eyes something else is broken least power side is flowing ok.

I have done same fuse shorting in my 13port USB hubs running antminers to get enough power for them.

Did anyone find a solution to the "half the chips on a module stopped working" problem? I believe there are two unlabeled fuses, and the running theory last I checked was one of these might have blown. I can fix the FUSE1 problem, but not the "5 out of 10 chips cold" issue.

Actually, that was only my theory IFF you don't have a single "FUSE1" fuse.  In the case where there is no "FUSE1" silkscreen marking and corresponding fuse, then (at least on my modules) there are 2 "P" fuses side by side about in the same place, and I would expect that one goes to half the chips and the other to the rest.  If it's on a module with a "FUSE1" board, then I don't have a running theory - could be a loose capacitor to half of the VRM, not sure.

This fix didnt solve my 5 cold chips in 1 board. So it's wasnt the Fuse. I measured the fuse before soldering and it was ok.
In this board only 5/10 chips are hashing.

All 5 chips cant be broken something else is broken in the board. I have 2 Boards with 5 cold chips
Anyway there are the FUSE1 & FUSE2 i sodlered good bypass for the fuses Cheesy

Hello all,

We ordered some of these miners and they came to our place in Canada severely beat up. We've tried to email BTMine and tried to Skype them, but so far nothing. There are 2 of our 8 units that require a few capacitors soldered back on, and 3 machines where the blades completely snapped off the bottom of the case and can't be re-attached.

So I have a few questions:

1. Where can I purchase some new capacitors that require re-soldering?
2. The units came with 220V power supplies, and EU plugs. Can I use the power supplies here in Canada? Or do I need to swap them out? Can anyone recommend one? We don't plan on over clocking these at all.
ANSWER: Just use a regular pc power cord and plug both psu's in to regular wall socket, this works 100%. It what I did with the 3 miners in my pic above
3. How does anyone contact these people now? I've read that returns aren't be accepted.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Returns arent be accepted due factory being Closed for CNY everybody goes home China is shut down.
We will see in February when they get back to work. For now China is closed. Most companies dont open untill 10th February this is their only annual vacation.

I now have 4 Units hashing around 860 GH/s to Eligius. Some work had to be done to get them tuned up. I will buy more of these when i can get some supplier.

Well I finally got my unit,
But my questiion to the users here is which PSU has been confirmed to work and be stable without burning out ?

650W Can run it Stock - Should Hold... maybe.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153173

750W Can run Stock speeds and has 62A Single rail 12v +10$ to 650W unit, worth it because bigger unit will run lower watts from wall.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153174

850W Safe bet and has some room to do OC. Price gets higer but... maybe can get 1500 OC stable with these. I have 1 unit mounted with 2x of This PSU and i start overclocking tests with it tomorrow.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153158

I have 2x 1200W version of this psu, Newegg wont list it. 100A Single rail, bit overkill
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104143

You should not try to run single psu. With the price of 1350 watt psu you get 2x 750w and end up taking less watts from wall. ATX powersupply is not designed to run 100% 24/7

This is Stats from my OC unit 3.8% HW-error rate /flex  Roll Eyes it eavens out to 230 GH/s maybe 220++ in Eligius
This is running with 2x 1200W psu taking around 960w from wall. Single 220volts plug. 2x Stock psu with stock speeds take more watts from wall.

Some ppl are getting 9% HW rate with stock... psu is not giving enoug? or just bad quality blades.  i dont know..

Last photo shows how the Thermal sensor should be mounted. Make sure it's in hot end of the blades. Some of these miners blow out from front some back Angry
I need to reverse some fans.

I quess they are planning to go with this Avalon2 unit next.
OP photo is board form that unit.

Nice - the new design looks far cleaner and hopefully more robust.  I might actually get one.

http://downloads.canaan-creative.com/hardware/A3255/avalon2/latest/

There are the 1 week old design files of reference design for anyone to clone them as many as they like... haha let the Games Begin after CNY.
That monster of thing is ment to be put in Datacenter and it's far from silent.... $$$ / Hashpower delivered now... it's only point.
Those fans need some RPM to cool that long tube.

That new design of Blade has 70 chips so it's close to 100 gh/s... you only need 12 of those boards to hit 1.2TH/s Shocked

Cross post, but Kncminers.com looks like a cloaked redirect using their reseller id (339) It is quite possible that KNCminer have the email address, or even postal address of the person who was assigned that ID.

They've not sold enough for a free Neptune anyway Cheesy

Edit: Quick look around for if that ID is used anywhere else online and found this: http://foorum.hinnavaatlus.ee/viewtopic.php?t=568902&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=1550&sid=4f96074baf308ef97cde8610673f2b5d

Sorry, not got the foggiest what any of it says, but hopefully will give some clues.

Thats pupular Estonian computer tech Forums and the guy in that post is sayin he dont know if adverticing is allowed remove if not. +that link

That is abnormal. These units do 2.9 - 4% at stock speed. You didnt post what speeds and temp  you are runnin. If OC the hw goes up.
