Not planning to have a son in 5 years......

I said the same when i was your age  Grin
me too and I have two!  Cheesy   The problem with plans is that they can go wrong.

Talking about plans...just to say something about that with regards to how i see the Digibyte Team and Jared are dealing with it.

With good amount of knowledge about Bitcoin, Blockchain, Cryptocurrency and whatever that is related to them, PLUS some foresight, which Jared and the Digibyte Team clearly have them, the chances of going wrong will be greatly reduced.

One example:
I have been keeping track of Bitcoin Reddit threads, including CoinTelegraph, CryptoCoinNews, Bitcoin Magazine, CoinDesk, NewsBTC, Bitcoinist and a few Google Searches for certain bitcoin related topics, for the past 6 months. I check all of them at least once every morning for new updates and news. Just recently like somewhere beginning of this  month (May 2015), there were several threads talking about Bitcoin's block size being too small and how it will cause problems if it doesn't increases. I do not know if it was a hot topic before but to the best that my memory can serve me, its the first time for me seeing such a subject being so widely talked about...for the past 6 months.

NOW, when was Digispeed mentioned to the public or at least on this forum?
it was on March 26, 2015 by Jared. You may look up on his past posts from his forum user profile. Before this 'block size' became a hot topic on the internet, Digispeed was already announced at least 1 month before that. But of course, they have already *thought* and *brainstorm* about it way before that date, way before announcing it. This clearly shows that the Digibyte Team has already foreseen some problems that are ahead of us. And they were already on to it to address these problems even before i started typing this post.

AND that's just the block size. There are so many other things that i have not mentioned. Think a little about what they had done so far, what they are planning to do so far. And you will know, Digiman will be the next Gundam in Japan when it goes global.

Now you mention this,,Indeed all of a sudden this is a hot topic for Bitcoin but will they do something about it? It is already so big that a hardfork will take ages and so many Bitcoins will get lost....

I think Digibyte has time for 1 more hardfork and then focus on the mainstream channels and get them into and using Digibyte.

And BTW,,,Who is stacking up his sell orders?  Late in the game and don't want Digibyte to go up,,,Whats your plan buddy? Would love to see someone pick up all these sells and leave the man behind Wink

oh yes yes. they are definitely doing something about it as they have to. lol. as far as i know so far but yet to be confirmed, they say they are going to increase the block size for Bitcoin to 20MB. I got this info from Reddit Bitcoin. One of the threads.

But for Digibyte, there is nothing to worry as its already mentioned in DigiSpeed:
"2) DigiByte block size will increase from 1 MB to 10 MB initially, with built in future increases."  Grin Cool Cheesy

Just realized we are only seven pages away from page 1,000. Time has really flown by. Page 1,000 seems to be an appropriate point to start an organized movement to the new forum. However, we definitely want to keep an active discussion on here as this is still our biggest source of new DigiByte users.

Any suggestions on how to celebrate page 1,000 ?

1) Celebrate with some solid news? Or the game changer project's release, where DGB is no more to cheap to buy in millions at a time? Maybe all projects release at one go on page 1k.
2) 1m DGB to the first posting user of page 1000 at the time of DigiByte (Jared) being online and seeing the user (Therefore, nobody can complain that someone deleted their messages, it is just the moment Jared sees and takes the screenshot of the first message on the top of the page 1000). The award can be given by tipping?
3) Digibytegaming tournament and tipping the winner(s)?
4) Jared creates an AMA session with a super fast high quality connection and people asks serious questions regarding the future of DGB? Or maybe a more serious and professional interactive session, could be something like joining  a serious conference as a speaker/contributor?
5) Announcement of the name of the angel investor funding that $250k?
etc...

The idea i had last year for Christmas, for the New Year or when Digibyte turn 1 year old - A Digibyte Team photo. of course you are free to conceal your identities (i.e. faces) as i already understand why reading from one of your comments some time early last year. Do it professionally though! Like wear digiman's helmet? Grin

We just successfully purchased Counter Strike Global Offensive (video game) on steam games via Gift Off with DigiByte!

now there's an idea! Grin

WOOT! can't wait for Digibyte to go Internationally Local!!! Looks like Amazon is already on there. left Ebay, Rakuten, Alibaba.
But i would be more interested in those rather big local online merchants like GMarket.
Steam is a good step forward!!! Looking forward to trying it when Steam Summer Sales starts!

for the past few pages, pump and dump has been mentioned a few times. I would like to say a few things.

I strongly believe Jared knows very well that Digibyte still isn't quite ready yet for a strong rise in price. There is still work to be done. While i am typing this, the Digibyte Team are hard at work on the following:

- DigiSpeed
- preparing Digibyte to be market out (e.g. look at what they are doing with their website's languages)
- working on coming-soon features like merchant list, etc
- making sure everything is working fine: DigiTip, EasyMiner, etc

its difficult to avoid a pump and dump situation when lots of PR and Marketing are done or if a certain kind of news seemed to be very significant. The Digibyte Team has to take into account of sudden announcements over the news/media too. for e.g. Digibyte getting mentioned on Wall Street newspaper [an example], etc. Over the past several months, Digibyte has gained some serious attention and are being taken notice by some serious eyes if i might say.

But look at how far Digibyte has come. Those who have been following Digibyte closely for the past 1 year knows that the Foundation (base) of Digibyte is well built and it continues to be built further up...but even more carefully now. The foundation (base) is there already but isn't quite ready to take off yet. Look at the price of Digibyte for the past 3-4 months: it has been flooring at an average around 50-55sat. But Digibyte has been there before a couple of times for a while. Perhaps Jared too is tired of that price. Its time for Digibyte to stay above 100sat...once and for all. And the only way to do this...is to ensure that Digibyte can prove to be a force to be reckon with vs other cryptocurrencies. So Development has to be priortized as number one. Because if Digibyte's Development is top-notch, that will prevent a dump or at least prevent a huge dump.

Based on my observations, Digibyte is slowly getting more and more attention than before. It is performing a lot better than its 1st year. I can't imagine what kind of tensions the Digibyte Team are going through. All we know is...it's way more work than before and it certainly is growing to be more difficult too. Therefore its very important to tread carefully and not to create more unnecessary work. Its not like Digibyte isn't getting any marketing done. Some real exmaples are:

- putting Digibyte into our signatures
- Digibyte getting mentioned more on Twitter
- telling family and friends about Digibyte
- Using Digibyte at stores, etc
- Digitipping people

All these help to market out Digibyte slowly but surely over time. And it can only grow because more people will know and some will follow to keep track of it. What we do not want is a hype with nothing to boast or to say about. Both Development and Marketing have to be balanced in order to prevent a pump and dump. Not forgetting, Digibyte's competitors are also trying to catch up. So let us do the marketing while the Digibyte Team focus on the development.

When Digibyte gets darn good, it will spread like wildfire through word of mouth, news, media, etc. It will automatically get attention without having to do anything to market out. When you are darn good, you will get notice and you will be wanted.

I say...give Digibyte another 2 more months to see some nice flesh...ehh i mean armor. [provided there isn't any hiccups].

Cheers everyone!  Grin

haha love that.

Seems we have capped out at 3351 nodes. Hopefuly that metric validates why we are nearly on page 1000 of this thread.

Interesting having a picture we can show when we claim that Digibyte is a global payment network.

cap? why is there a cap?
There is no cap, we have just topped out for now.

oh...so my next question is this: what happens when Digibyte has more nodes than Bitcoin? or is that possible? XD

Big pushes keeping it under 50satoshi... When was the hardfork update again?

Browsing the forum, I think a month back, dev team said estimated time 4-6 weeks.
We are not far away.

I am longing for the time in future we can pay for coffee, fast and hasslefree, no central bank.

although i have been keeping track of bitcoin news for about more than a year now and have done my own research and studies to understand better, i still can't grasp the meaning behind 'hardfork'.

can anyone explain to me roughly what it means and the implications it will bring? like how will it affect the price, etc.

just some food for thought:
i saw Digibyte.co website having a number of languages that you can choose from and considering how many it is, its quite a lot at the moment. I took a look at some of the other altcoin's website [top 20 altcoins from coinmarketcap] and majority of them don't even have a drop-down list to select the language to view the website in. I don't know if this means anything in the real sense, but my senses tell me this:

Digibyte is going BIG. Right now...it is still keeping a somewhat low profile compare to dogecoin, stellar or ripple, news wise.

The fact that there hasn't been any explosive marketing news for the past 1-2 months is because...i think the Digibyte Team are working really hard to get certain important things into place first, so that they will be above their competitors and have an edge over them in the future. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, they themselves want to be well prepared once it goes big. i mean, there's bound to be problems when success happens and when it does, there can be a huge demand. And i am sure the Digibyte Team wants to be ready for that. we can tell that they doing their best to aim for the Number 1 spot:

1) Dealing "DEEPLY" with the CORE of the technology: DigiSpeed
2) Preparing to go "BROAD" by first supporting multiple languages, having marketing tools ready at hand such as an intro video, GIF Ads, etc.
3) Adding Final touches to every other features such as Digitip, EasyMiner, etc.

Now...when you have all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle together, Digibyte is already sprinting to the finishing line of going Global. And it will finished off with a BLAST. Oh and of course, the finishing line won't exactly be the finishing line. i bet those who are close to Jared knows that *there's more in store* in the future. Smiley

Did we just do the first international purchase for Digibyte?  Shocked Cool

Dash came to mind when i first laid eyes on it. As i continue looking at the logo, i thought to myself "no wait! its Digibyte!" A few more seconds later, i said "that is one awesome looking logo. Cheesy"

iOS link for inviting friends
just a heads up info on the inviting friends through facebook thing. i noticed that it shares a GooglePlay link. problem is, some or half of my friends on Facebook are using iOS devices. So i believe the GEMS TEAM are going to do something about the link once the iOS version of the app is approved on the Apple App Store? Like redirecting them to a website that shows 2 links: GooglePlay and Apple? not just for Facebook but i am saying for all the other methods as well.

i tried to transfer my GEMZ from counterwallet.io to my Getgems App. but it requires me to pay 0.0005 BTC? Although i know its not much, but it was initially in the Getgems app. sooo...feels kinda *wrong* to pay for it. Make it free for this one time at least. just from counterwallet.io to Getgems app. not to any other place

Come on dude thats like 10 cents. Why should gems pay when its going to counterparty. Maybe if you had to move it to your wallet but actually you dont need to yet and later you can connect up your account to your wallet for the bonus.

lol...prob is...having to top up BTC requires a minimum cash deposit [through mastercard] of like $20-50USD through an exchange. i'm currently tight on budget. i wouldn't mind doing it if i only had to top up 30 cents or $1 to pay 10 cents. I don't mind paying in GEMZ too. unfortunately, it currently only accepts BTC, which is 0.0005.

i don't need to yet? i can later connect up my counterwallet.io to my getgems app for the bonus? can you provide more details on this? Would like to know more.  Grin

There's no real reason to put your crowdsale gems in your wallet now cause the multiplier for working out Bonus hasn't been implemented yet. There is a plan to be able to connect another account later as well as your wallet for the multiplier. So yeah you don't really need to hold into your app wallet now, just watch your bonus coins add up from referrals is probably all you want to do anyway. If your desperate later I'll send a few sats so you can move gems but for now I wouldn't bother.

okay! thanks! Cheesy
