521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: LN - peer refuses connection on: September 24, 2022, 10:49:24 AM
Funds were returned without any itervention, so all is over, but I started to have a serious doubts what to do in situations like that. At the end you transfer your coins somewhere and must believe they are safe.
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Chainalysis software puts the lie to the idea that Bitcoin guarantees anonymity. on: September 24, 2022, 08:38:35 AM
Bloombers published an article about another "chain analysis" company:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-09-21/crypto-tracer-chainalysis-busts-bitcoin-btc-anonymity

I have a feeling it is more a PR game than a real introduction of problem, but still, any information are better then nothing.
523  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Electrum+Trezor, wrong hint/info displayed on: September 24, 2022, 08:32:08 AM
Hello

I have tried to execute transaction using Electrum wallet connected with Trezor, all was as usuall, but when Trezor displayed amount for confirmation, there was something strange - instead of usuall "Amount X including fee Y", it was "Amount Y including fee Y" (bot amount were fee amounts). In Electrum transaction was looking good. The same Trezor connected to Trezor Suite displayed correct amounts.
I did not confirm transaction so I do not know what whould be the final output, but for sure, what I seen on Trezor screen was wrong.
Anyone had the same issue? Matter of Electrum or Trezor firmware?
524  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Suite now supports coin control on: September 24, 2022, 08:27:30 AM
The main advantege of Electrum is to spend/block based on address, while in Trezor Suite we much check/uncheck every input. Easy to make a mistake, especially if you have more than 1 page of results.
What I did was to see (using Electrum) how it should look like and then execute transfer using TS.
But at the end I am glad it is introduced (finally).
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: LN - peer refuses connection on: September 23, 2022, 09:20:33 PM
It is like that for at least 12h. OK, not a big deal, I will try tomorrow.
Hard to say, is it better to trust a giants or smaller peers...
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / LN - peer refuses connection on: September 23, 2022, 08:47:54 PM
Hello

I have played a little with LN included in btcpayserver. I have opened the channel with coingate, transferred some sats. Channel was opened (transaction confirmed etc.), but now it is closed and I cannot reconnect to peer.
Code:
3.124.63.44:9735: Exchanging Init Messages: Peer Closed Connection.
What should I do?

it does not matter who has the most or less tickets, the prizes are going to be shared in an equal amount,we are all members of the same family in the forum. So if by chance we happen to win it (although chances are near 0) we split the prize in equal amount

Very generous statement swogerino. If you have the most of the tickets int the pool, decision could be yours and the rest of participants will probably not oppose.
Personally, having much less tickets than you, I feel that it is unfair Smiley and I may assume may "application" would be rejected, as my input would not be "big enough" or in correct relation to potential win.
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UEFA Nations League 2020/2021 Discussion Thread on: September 23, 2022, 11:20:44 AM
About Poland, their defeat is not a shock for me because they rely too much on Lewandowski. They failed in latest Euro when Lewandowski was constrained by opponents and other players can not support or cover Lewandowski.

A huge disappointment in Poland, not because of result but mostly because of style of game. It was a really bad game and thinking about World Cup coming, there is nothing to be optimist.
About Lewandowski - yes, there is still too much hoping for a one man who will do all the job. On the other hand, hard not to see that usually he plays much better games Bayern and Barcelona than in national team.
529  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Where to see the seed on: September 23, 2022, 11:16:09 AM
Password is one thing - it is purely for Electrum, to allow access to wallet.
The main question is if you have wallet with private keys or not. If wallet is without private keys, you may only watch addresses. You need private keys to spend coins. If you do not have it - you do not have it Cool and noone will be able to help you.
The question is also if wallet was generated by software or as a "front-end" to hardware wallet. Then of course you need the device to have access to private keys.

You will not get FUN Tokens if saving BTC at freebitco.in but the interest you get is in BTC, and you can buy FUN Tokens if you have confidence that this token can provide other benefits.
From the amount of btc he saves he will get around 1200 Satoshi per day can be used to buy FUN Tokens at the current price he will get about 30 Tokens, and it seems that saving BTC is more profitable than using it to buy FUN tokens because the value obtained from WoF cannot be ascertained while from saving the value is sure

But having FUN gives you better interest rate (if you hold them long enough).
BTW, honestly speaking, the subject of email he shown could be misleading, it is one of typical newsletter subjects, even if you have nothing, they will send it to you, they will just show a value "0".
To keep or not to keep FUN tokens - all depends on personal preference and plans. If one would like to benefit for locking, why not.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: September 23, 2022, 06:37:04 AM
If you are talking about that the races should be added into the calendar like every week or so then I don't think that's a good idea.

Because this will increase the load of teams too much. They won't have much time to gather themselves up and focus on next race week because they will have a very tight schedule. Only the summer break still wouldn't be enough for them to adapt to this tempo. We all would like to see races every week to be honest but it would be really selfish to ask for this from teams. I think the current formula is much better for spectators as well. Because we are enjoying the season for many months and it leaves good memories in our minds. Otherwise the season would end so quick that there wouldn't be even much time to assess the races.

I really understand that point of view. Personally (probably I am wrong) I compare that situation to other sports, like cycling. Then, for example, you have spring full of one-day races. Eveyrbody knows about the 3 big Tours (Italy, France, Spain), but there are others, many many races. And in fact cyclists very often do not train (a lot) in the meantime - winter is a period for preparations, then having many races only give time for rest - and next weekend there is another race. But it is tru that comparison like that is wrong - many cyclist prepare themself for one specific period in year and it would be strange to hear from F1 team "we focus on races in Asia".

My statement was because it is getting cold, autumn is coming and for me it is somehoe the end of season. October, November - I cannot focus on that. Races on 20th of November - in my personal opinion it is very very late.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: September 22, 2022, 05:39:46 PM
Do not you think the season is too long? One may say it is only 9 months, but I think November is too much. It is almost as long as WRC (end of Jan - middle of Nov), where part of difficulty is to drive during very different weather and on different kinds of surface. In F1 the end we have all the same tracks, sometimes night race, sometimes rain. I would like to see the season more “condensed”.

I also placed some bets on the lower range this time. At the end, we are in bears age, no?
BTW, what kind of ramen is your favourite?
Exactly, after that we've been through, I guess most are seasoned enough to take on the crypto winter :p
My favorite is Maggi, curry flavor. Just throw in an egg and it's a perfect quick meal!
Oh yes in asian restaurants they often put an egg into them. When do you put your egg in, before or after having cooked them?
Regarding BTC price, I agree with pawanjain @1.88 (now) for $17500-$20 000 is a rather low odd. I hope the monthly candlestick will close above or below this range.

Only miso ramen for me, and boiled egg - yes, marinated please.

One day left for crypto' price bets and we are not smarter at all. One big unknown for me. Everyday it goes in different direction.
FUN token price is now almost 50/50 on below and above 0.0075

536  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What's the best VPS for a crypto app? on: September 21, 2022, 04:17:56 PM
VPS may have many benefits, but I have a feeling that quite soon (especially in the case of success of your project, what I wish you) your server might be insufficient for your needs - you may want to add new software, node, SPV/LN server etc. It is more expensive, for sure, but why not look for dedicated server?

One of main question you must ask yourself is "am I an admin"? If not, you really really want someone who will take care of your server, its updates, security etc. If you are just a programmer who wants to host his project, you will face many issues you may be not aware now (besides some weird side-effects of different kinds of virtualization solutions used for VPS).
537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: hdd cache software, to allow running block storage on less costly disk on: September 21, 2022, 08:43:53 AM
Personally I have never used ramdisk for any sensitive data.
I do the exact opposite: whenever possible, I only use my ramdisk for sensitive data.

I see your point, maybe I should say more precisely - not for data I do not want to lose. I mean - I would not use ramdisk for saving draft of document I edit, you know what I mean.
As a place which makes the traces of work to disappear - I understand that approach.

Regarding the main question - as far as I know blocks does not need to be stored on a fast drive, the problem is with indexes.
538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: September 21, 2022, 08:05:59 AM
I think that's more than power units there, it may be full brand, like Alpine/Renault is, handling both chassis and power unit.
What I find very interesting is the double branding / competition between sister companies: around 2026 also Porsche will come into F1 (taking over RBR?), but... both Porsche and Audi are sisters under Volkswagen Group Cheesy

Very soon we will know how it works - in 2023 they will return to Le Mans with their hybrids (after leaving Formula E).

By the way - isn't it all about money? Porsche wants to play a little game with their shares on market and they hope they will follow Ferrari.

"Rafał Zaorski stawia 280 mln zł na wzrost BTC! Liczy na 134 mln zł zysku" 30 sierpnia
"Rafał Zaorski zmienia zdanie nt. Bitcoina. Spekulant nagle" 3 września

A chwilę przed spadkiem z 30k na 17k:
"Rafał Zaorski stawia 70 mln PLN na wzrost Bitcoina (BTC)" maj 23
"Rafał Zaorski wskazuje siłę nowej hossy kryptowalut." maj 29

Rozumiem do czego pijesz, ale jednak byłbym ostrożny z wyciąganiem ostatecznych wniosków, bo nie widziałem portfela (rzeczywistych ruchów). Jeżeli są zgodne z nagłowkami - no to coż, peszek. Jeżeli zaś jedną ręką kupuje a drugą mówi że sprzedaje... Jak to było w Misiu: "ten człowiek słowa prawdy w życiu nie powiedział". Taka gra.

Bo to był wielki sukces. Albo wielka porażka. Zależy, czy cenimy sobie decentralizację czy ekologię.

Gdzieś czytałem że podobno ogólnoświatowe zużycie prądu spadło o 0.2%. No w sumie jest to niebagatelna ilość.
540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: hdd cache software, to allow running block storage on less costly disk on: September 21, 2022, 07:08:26 AM
I have no idea why one would like to "buy" a dedicated software for that purpose (on the other hand I do understand that someone wants to sell it); the idea of ramdisks is old as hell. Some used it just for temporary folder, but if you have more RAM, why not to use it for other "parts" of software system. OF course there are always extra tasks (and problems) to do, like initial loading and unloading back to hdd, danger related to unexpected crash of system and losing data stored in memory etc etc. Personally I have never used ramdisk for any sensitive data.

By the way, I understand that we have progress in hardware development, we have faster disks, memory and processors, but it does not mean that all 10 year old computers shoud go to bin. 10 years ago people worked on computers and were able to do their daily tasks...
