521  Economy / Service Discussion / Possible Bitmain Hoax/Spam/Phishing Email on: April 08, 2016, 08:38:33 AM
I received an email in Chinese from support@bitmain.kf5.com and assumed it was either a hoax, spam, or phishing message based on the domain information. It had a wonderful link to something about user/setpassword?verify_code=. Has anybody else received a message like this or is anyone able to provide additional information?
522  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New one fan S7 on: April 08, 2016, 12:29:30 AM
So, just got the S7-F1 hooked up and running. Temps are low today, in the 60's so I went ahead and let it ride at 700 and it's holding steady at 59c on the highest blade with .0005% error rate. Going to let this go for a bit as the temps will rise into the 70's next week. I will keep you all updated on how it goes. As for the noise it does seem a bit quieter than the others but since they are all on the same rack it's hard to tell.

Also, the packaging was all updated, new foam, smaller box etc... So this was definitely not just a stop putting one of the fans on redesign

What are your thoughts on the overall build quality? Was it comparable to previous batches or better/worse?
523  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - Compacs In Stock on: April 07, 2016, 10:15:55 PM
Has anyone made a 2W ASIC that'll do those algorithms?

Has anyone made an ASIC for anything other than SHA-256 and Scrypt?
524  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: April 07, 2016, 10:07:25 PM
Certainly was a nice one. Good to see a smaller miner get one. I've got no chance as I'm only just pushing 1Th lol.

I have yet to find a block for Bitcoin. I have no allusions about my chances as I am in a similar boat to yours. I guess my Litecoin block finds will have to tide me over for now.

Very bad Sad
How we can contact Delinquency to fix this problem?

I have been trying to contact him for the past three weeks. I have sent him e-mail message and PMs on both his reddit and bitcointalk accounts. I have had no response from either reddit or bitcointalk and my e-mails to him were returned as undeliverable. I am assuming that his e-mail hosting service has expired as well. Sad

Anyone know what kind of miners the last two blocks were found with? Never seen those names on the top minera list.

I have no clue, but it sure was a nice find by MINEO13CC considering he is averaging between 10 and 12 TH/s.

Hi, all!

What's happened with mmc-forums.com? It's down a few days.

I am not sure what is wrong with the forums. I am assuming that the hosting service expired.

Hi folks,

Nice to see the project is under resurrection :-)
Do you know how to download the latest wallet? The links from this thread are broken.

I know that you can download the source from https://github.com/memorycoin/memorycoin and compile it manually, but as far as the pre-compiled windows binaries are concerned I think they are unavailable along with the forums. I have a copy of the latest windows binary and can upload it if necessary.

otherwise I suppose that have be replaced by two silent fan.
3 pins it will not thermoregulate, let's always 4500 ..
http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00137230.html
30euros so 35usd (both)
17.9 db max.
must be able to find better.
but already big drop.
I wonder if the garanty bitmain still stands after?

That Noctua fan you linked is only 40mm. It simply does not cover enough area. Besides, it only moves 8.2 m3/hour versus the 120mm Delta fan which moves 5.96 m3/min. That is why it is so quiet.
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Wolf's GBT CPU HODL Miner - Bounty Fund on: April 06, 2016, 10:40:59 AM
After a round of all-night negotiations, The Wolf has agreed to provide the HOdlcoin community with an open-source, GBT CPU miner if a 1.25 BTC bounty can be raised.

GBT, Get Block Template, will support better decentralization for HOdlcoin as it allows clients to create the blocks to mine, making it more difficult for pools to block or control transactions.

The miner will be capable of solo operation and will also run with compatible pools.

I'm starting a fund here -

https://blockchain.info/address/1WoLFzJJbzh5SrQSG2T3YHujCD2G2sN8J

I'm kicking it off with a .25 BTC contribution and ask for your support for this development.

FT
I hope this works out. I just do not have the Bitcoin to donate.  Undecided

i would have donated if it was at the beginning, now this coin is wortless to mine, yes maybe there is some profit but you need to remember that when you run your cpu at full speed you ca not run your gpu, so you're actually losing money

HOdl is still at the beginning. I mine about a block a day on my own with an i7 while mining directly from the wallet. This is not like Memorycoin that only rewards 2.9 MMC per block today. I mine that everyday though and still manage to make a decent amount that can easily be traded on Poloniex.

Maybe someone needs to release a GPU miner instead.

I doubt we will be seeing a GPU miner any time soon. GPUs do not receive the same bonus for AES instructions as CPUs do with AES-NI. That is not to say it would not be faster, but that it will not see a magnitude of increase on par with Bitcoin or Litecoin and it will require more power.

Sorry i have been out of the loop for a while is there anything new in minera that i need to be aware of.  I hate to scroll thru looking Smiley  call me lazy but im old also.  thanks all

I believe the biggest thing is stability improvements. I upgraded from version 0.4.x not that long ago and everything appeared to be generally the same.

Can you specify your problems?

I believe that bleeding2323 was just asking about new features in minera. He said that he has been gone awhile.
531  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Btc Miner Avalon Nano USB Bitcoin Miner 3.6GH/s asicminer on: April 05, 2016, 11:38:33 AM
Hi guys

i am sorry for this noob question
i am new to this form and mining system

i just want to ask is it worth to buy the avalon nano usb 3.6GH/s

i know this age is for Th/s now

but still is it profitable

At this point, it is not worthwhile if you are trying to make a ROI. If you can get one for dirt cheap, it may be useful to learn how things work and just get your feet wet.

Not at all. The Avalon Nano is (was) a very efficient miner and made around 3 cents a day a few months ago before the crazy difficulty rise. Nowadays the outdated avalon chip doesn't make profit anymore, and it's just a good idea for people who want an entry-level miner that doesn't eat up a ton of electricity. You can buy one if you like, but seriously for beginners a block erupter is a lot cheaper and has lots of mods available and also is very well documented.

A Block Erupter would achieve the same learning goal as leowonderful suggested for a lot cheaper if you plan on getting one on eBay or something.

533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HOdlcoin CPU Solo Mining Guide on: April 05, 2016, 10:25:23 AM
Solo mining works like that on most coins: a new address is generated for every mined block.

Does it pull an address from my key pool?
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HOdlcoin CPU Solo Mining Guide on: April 05, 2016, 04:40:09 AM
I am confused about how mining from the wallet works with regard to addresses. If you do not set the miningaddress=yourwalletaddresshere in the hodlcoin.conf config file, mined coins appear to go into a random address not listed in the receiving addresses. How exactly does this work?
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Multicoin Multi algorithm pools? on: April 03, 2016, 01:57:10 AM
Doed anyone know of any pools that are multi pools that switch algorithms based off profibility too? My little brother has a single orb dual miner. I'm trying to help him get the most out of it, but it's so old it's hard. I  thought that might be best if it exists.  Thank you! I'd love to help him get the bug!

Posted From bitcointalk.org Android App

https://www.ltcrabbit.com/ is a profit switching LTC pool. It pays in LTC and you can mine with scrypt or X11.

The pool luck has been miserable these last few blocks. Sad

is there currently a pool or is it solo mining only now -- ive beed busy & forgotten

At the moment, I believe solo mining is the only option. The default nodes are currently down so I am reasonably sure that it is not possible to setup a p2pool node. There is also the issue with YAM not working properly. It is unable to mine for the developer because of the downed nodes so it stops mining after 400 shares. I have been meaning to talk with yvg1900 about possible solutions, but I have not yet done so.

Can anyone recommend a reputable and fair exchange to transfer NMC to BTC's? I have seen a few online, but also heard that some are scams.

https://shapeshift.io/ has been around for awhile and they make it stupid easy. Smiley

Hello my friends,
stay tuned because I'm working on Minera 0.6.3 (or 0.7 I don't know yet), there will be nothing special but a general update and maintenance work. Debian/Raspbian upgrade to Jessie release and much more.

Hope to complete it soon.
Have a great weekend.

That is awesome news! I look forward to testing it out.
