5201  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.06 BTC. on: January 26, 2019, 07:20:02 PM
Waiting on repayment, all good otherwise.

Fair enough - I will add some trust. The loan is from a while ago.

OP is who he claims to be, I am in contact with him. I don't think he is wanting to scam. That said, he would find it hard to get a loan now.

@marcotheminer, I would not be as passive if I found myself in your situation.  Here's a member that has owed you money "from a while ago" asking for another loan.  If he already owed me money that would bother me, unless...  Did you and 2double0 agree he would borrow the money to repay you?  Or is there something even more nefarious going on?  In all honesty, your behavior is painting you in a suspicious light.

Are you saying the OP already has an outstanding loan with you and is here asking for another?

I know that I came after long time as I had health issues for which my doctor suggested to keep distance from things like smartphones and laptops as the rays were not suitable for me. I'm here after I completely recovered from my problems, trauma had stopped and I can use these things back again.

I'm not saying this is an attempted scam, but damn, that line I bolded sounds like a pile of fly-infested horse shit!  On the other hand, Bpip doesn't show a change of email or password, so it's unlikely the account has changed hands.  Not impossible, but unlikely.

According to this post the account Luno was purchased from xitrum, and the buyer never paid.

5205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Hello, tech support? Ubuntu broken after Nvidia driver update. on: January 25, 2019, 04:17:17 PM
Howdy all, I need a little help.  My rig doesn't seem to like Ubuntu 18.04 after I update my GPU drivers.  The rig will boot up to the login screen, but after I input my password it goes to a black screen for a second and then back to the login screen.  I've reinstalled the OS several times, and the problem only starts after I've installed the Nvidia GPU drivers.

I've tried updating them by using the autoinstall command, which selects version 390 and also using the graphics-drivers ppa to install version 396 and 410.  They all result in the same issue.

Any help you can offer is much appreciated.

Setup:
Asus B250 Mining Expert mobo
Intel Pentium G4400 Processor
8gb DDR4 2666 RAM
Ubuntu 18.04
1x Dell 520w PSU
1x HP 980w Server PSU

GPUs:
1x AMD 5775 (2gb) (used for posting)
2x EVGA 1080ti (11gb)
2x EVGA 1080 (8gb)
2x MSI 1070 (8gb)
5206  Other / Meta / Re: What if someone is wrongfully banned for plagiarism? on: January 24, 2019, 11:21:40 PM
Just a few months ago someone was banned for plagiarism, but after a more thorough investigation it was determined he had only made a mistake while quoting someone else's post.  That account was restored.  It happens, some one might be wrongly accused, but the account can be un-banned.
5207  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Venezuela on: January 24, 2019, 11:15:37 PM
I'm sure the folks from Venezuela are tired of the corruption plaguing their country, and are hopeful Guaidó will restore some order.  I agree Guaidó is probably a CIA plant, but if he survives long enough to get the country through an honest election then I don't care.  The Venezuelans are wonderful people and wish them the best.

What I don't want to see is Guaidó becoming the next dictator (visions of South Vietnam and Ngô Đình Diệm's clusterfuck.)  I really don't believe US military intervention is a practical approach.  I doubt the Venezuelan people want our military in their country, and would rather resolve their problems on their own.

Why do some people have such (large) minimum?

Because they want you send them a large amount of money before they vanish.  Notice only newbies are replying to your post.  Be careful.
5209  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Evil MAGA hat kids from Covington School VS Native American on: January 23, 2019, 07:26:57 PM
This story illustrates how politically charged today's media has become.  It's one thing for the social-media-butterflies to jump to erroneous conclusions, that's just what they do.  But when the main-stream media jumps to conclusions you know the system is broken.

Real reporters would want far more clarification before jumping on the bandwagon.  They might even want to review all the evidence themselves before reporting on the story, or at the very least reserve judgment and merely relay the facts.

But that's not what we get from the MSM today.  The second a story breaks they want to be among the first to report on it.  They want to beat the competition to the punch, regardless of how accurate (or more commonly; inaccurate) their information might be.  Exasperating the issue is that most reporters and media outlets tend to lean on the liberal side of social issues, and they tend to be less scrutinous of stories that support their biases.

At first glance, it appeared that the MAGA hatted youngsters were instigating the situation, and thus vindicated the MSM's hatred for Trump.  What's really troubling, is after they learned that they got it wrong, they didn't apologies to the children who's lives they jeopardized.

I'll update my post count and wear the signature and avatar if accepted.

5211  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Ethical Dilemma] What would you do? on: January 22, 2019, 07:06:31 PM
I would keep what was owed to me for the work done, and refund the rest.  But, I would go further; I would keep "the work" so it could not be used to scam anyone in the future.

Your reputation is shot.  Account sales promote scam, and account sellers are untrustworthy.

5214  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] 1000$ + Paypal [W] Bitcoin (Everyday trader is also needed). on: January 21, 2019, 09:15:34 PM
I've dealt with him on reddit and through discord selling him Amazon and never had an issue when I sent first each time just fyi . Should always use escrow tho

A newbie vouching for another newbie.  Nothing suspicious about that.  Roll Eyes

How is escrow going to help you when he disputes the paypal charges next week?
5215  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] 1000$ + Paypal [W] Bitcoin (Everyday trader is also needed). on: January 21, 2019, 08:19:08 PM
Still wanting BTC!!

You have made zero effort to become a contributing member of this community, nobody is going to send you their bitcoin.  All your posts are in threads relating to using paypal to buy bitcoin or gift cards.  It would be too easy for a newbie to abscond with the bitcoin, or gift cards by disputing the paypal charges, and no one would have any recourse.  The whole gift card thing is a shady trade all on it's own.

Several members have attempted to politely explain to you why you are unlikely to get anyone to trade with you, yet you persist.  Either you don't care if no one trades with you, or you are still hopeful some one will be naive enough to attempt a trade with you.  It makes me suspicious of your intentions.

Avoid dealing with this individual!
There's a high probability he will attempt to scam you.

No, I'm quite certain it's Thule.

Well, my advice to cryptohunter stands.   Grin

Why are posting from this account?

If it's because you're in the penalty box for incessant trolling (only guessing,) this could be considered ban evasion, and turn your tempban into a permaban.  Don't make a shitty situation a total clusterfuck.  Take a break from the forum, I really think it'll help you put things into perspective.

Let me guess... Thule?

I could be wrong, but I think it's cryptohunter.

Why is tigerfree on the DT2 list all of the sudden?

Looks like bones261 and amishmanish have this account listed as trusted.  bones261 also has Timelord2067 listed as trusted.
