I know this may not be the best place to ask, but this is the only thread i am actually engaged with on this forum.
---> Where is the best place to buy a S9?
Im not going to buy one on ebay for the rediculous overcharge, as im not in a hurry to receive it.
-Andy
Shop.bitmain.com is the best place, when they're in stock of course. If you're not in a rush, you can get it there. I've also bought one from Eastshore.xyz, and it arrived as promised.

Come on block - I don't know who all the anime goddess are, but let's get some blessings from one.
We're up over 100% again right, just judging off the blocks page on kano.is Somewhat over that, because the previous block was a stale share.

It doesn't really give enough details to know. The "smart ports" seem promising if they can really deliver 2.1amps each, but the rest of it seems like a standard USB hub.

Hi, i have been mining in this pool for almost 3 days but i didn't get paid ! i can see my worker and the hash rate all is ok so when i'll get paid ? i'm using Antminer s9
How many blocks has the pool hit in the last 3 days since you started? There's your answer - you only get paid when we find a block.

Hashing algorithms are one way, and thus, quantum resistant. So a quantum computer will not likely give you huge advances with a traditional proof-of-work.

Thank you for your answer. Wouldn't 1.2A be enough for the expected hashrate? I read it needed 750mA for a 3.4MH/s performance. I then found some USB3.0 Hubs with 1.2A so I wonder if that fits the job.
Yes, if you want the stock performance, 1.2A works fine. One of the great things about USB sticks with adjustable clock speeds is that you can squeeze out even more performance - according to jstefanop, up to 5mh/s. That's why you'd get a high powered hub.

Alright, I understand, but let's say I just have the cooler sitting in a corner of my room and just the two tubes not connected to anything. Now, as long as I just run the air conditioner it shouldn't overheat, right?
Plus, where can find instructions on how to set up a cooler.... I don't know which to buy and even if I did I'd have trouble cutting through the thick plastic to make a hole exactly the size for the tube to fit in?
It'll be very very inefficient to try to air condition your room the entire time. You'll really really want to vent the air outside, otherwise your room will be insanely hot.

and the canakit 2.5 amp will not run 4 auc3's with say 3 miners on each one
Got it - will upgrade to the Anker. I only have one AUC3 with 4 on mine, so far its worked great.

I know you asked Haggs, but that's the page I ordered mine from.

The silver tubes are to funnel air into and out of the cooler. The miner is producing a ton of heat, which is why it has such big fans, which is why its so loud. The cooler works because it's like putting the miner inside a box, but it still needs cooler air coming into it and a way for it to leave it. You need to exhaust that heat somewhere - outside is good, but another part of your apartment where it can't easily get back to the miner will also work. Could you hook the miner up near an open window, and run the exhaust from the cooler out the window? You could even try to put in through a portable AC window exhaust mount, but be sure the cooler is level with the mount, since the fan doesn't push the air too far out. https://www.sylvane.com/honeywell-portable-ac-window-kit.html for example

That'll change after the 2x fork...
You think they'll switch over to the 2x chain, or stay on the original one?

Bitcoinwisdom projected a slight drop just before the change, then the massive jump in difficulty.... so the estimated next difficulty is pretty much useless. Its never right on, but it wasn't even close
Bitcoin Wisdom has been totally off lately. I've moved over to BTC.com, which is much more accurate.

meantime a dumb question.
the Pi nor settings etc can make only 1 board hash right??
You could check the power to the other board - make sure your cables are good. But there's no way (that I know of) to disable a board in the controller.

|
Put another way, a 20% difficulty increase - which we just had - means, if BTC price remains the same, that it'll take 20% longer to get a block, and hence your income just dropped by 20%.
Unless of course you increase your hash rate by 20% to compensate (Which is super easy when your hashrate is as low as mine.)

What're your goals? This is the Bitcoin mining area, so if you want to talk about Altcoins, its the wrong place.
You should put the money into Bitcoin in my opinion. If all you have is $50k, its probably better to just buy coins
