BTW, ATX power supply 80A  Shocked

Thats 17 kW using 220V

Does it really use so much power for 300 GH/s ?

BTW,

please note that last block has been paid in part because there are no more confirmed coins, but pool has 100 BTCs to be confirmed (120 blocks) then it will pay the remaining.

I'm writing this for the newcomers, because first time it happens it can be a little confusing to see what's going on Smiley

544  Local / Mercato valute / BTC per contanti a Roma - richiesta di aiuto on: June 20, 2013, 11:27:32 AM
Ciao,

https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/tigerstyle007

Welcome aboard Mr. 400 GH Smiley

So I currently mine with BTCGuild.  After getting some ASIC's online, I'm wondering if I should change pools or not.

WuLabs,

you should try HHTT

An Avalon mines without problems with difficulty 512 for a fee of 0.36% and pool pays half of block fees to the miner who finds it.

It is a PPLNS pool, so it takes a while, two days more or less, before you earn your fair share of each block found.

550  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LocalBitcoins.com - a location-based bitcoin to cash marketplace on: June 19, 2013, 09:54:21 AM
Hi kangasbros,

I'd like to point out a few annoyances:

- site does not remember location, sometime it requests to access my location, sometime I have to type where I live

- right now, inside "Buy bitcoins online in Italy" my offer at 90 EUR/BTC is not shown, but I see an offer at 94 EUR/BTC by topelius, why?

- if I search all online offers in Italy I see just a couple and I don't see mine

- if then I click "seach by payment method"/"PostePay" I don't get any, but I get a couple of PayPal ones ?

Apart from these problems, your site rocks and I really like it.

Thanks!

551  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: June 18, 2013, 07:06:26 PM

VAT + customs duties.  Cry

Anyway, let's think about good things now that batch #2 units seems to be arriving...

The biggest question, after unpacking your unit and starting it up for the first time is: where do I go mining now?

If you have at least 5 units, you should certainly try to solo-mine for a while, it is the way it was in the beginning and true to the real spirit of bitcoin.

But if you have less than 5 units... well, I've got a shameless plug for you!

There is a nice, minimal pool which is, right now, searching for a few more GH/s to help it tame the continous difficulty increase we're living in.

It is HHTT, try it out for at least a couple of days, it is PPLNS, so it needs a little to pay your fully owed share of each block.

spiccioli

ps. I'm mining on it, so I have a vested interest in reducing pool variance. Smiley
552  Local / Mining (Italiano) / Re: Consumi mining on: June 17, 2013, 10:15:07 PM
Bel thread,

Smiley

554  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Goliath Miner-Cairnsmore3/4/5/6 Boards - Limited run for August Delivery on: June 15, 2013, 09:39:51 PM
So what is the CM4? Does it have ASICs? If so from where? Or is it made out of FPGAs somehow brought way down in price (and power requirement?)?

-MarkM-

It is commercially too sensitive to for this level of detail to be revealed in open disscussion at this point. Outside of the performance offered, unit power, and what the cost is to customers that won't ever be discussed by us in this forum before customers have units in their hands. However you are free to speculate as much as you like.

Being that CM4 uses 1.5 times the energy of Avalon units with similar hashing power I'd say that it contains some high end FPGAs that Enterpoint can buy with a substantial discount because they're ordering a ton of them for some other project they're doing.

Aand two more today Smiley

But pool needs more hashing power, with difficulty rising so fast

556  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Goliath Miner-Cairnsmore3/4/5/6 Boards - Limited run for August Delivery on: June 15, 2013, 03:07:30 PM
So, to sum it up, a CM4 unit:

- costs 24 thousand € / 350 BTCs
- uses 6kW of power
- can do 500 GH/s

Is it right?

If so, at a difficulty of 75 millions, such a unit would produce 3.5 BTCs/day for a ROI of three months more or less.

6kW of power, though, is a lot of power and puts it in the same league of the Avalon where ten units use that much and are capable of 700 GH/s.

By the way a power consumption estimation would be usefull as well, in particular given the price tag.

I'm talking about the unit without Avalon chips or the CM4 if this is its name.

What is going on?
batch #3 is already ordered? it should be according to what Augusto said before.
Maybe I am missing sth but I think it's not ordered already!
Not to mention that there was no plan for batch#3 , that is preety unfair imo, I've paid sth like 10 days ago expecting my unit to be part of batch #2
What's the reason for dealay?

You are being like me.  Not sending the 15 I buying back in May, sending them instead to other people who buying single units later.  Something very fishy going on now I thinking.

yes, have to agree.
ordered 5 erupters. TWO have arrived.
I feel that I have been cheated in regards to shipping queue.

I believe that these should be shipped according to order/payment date.

Same here, ordered 5, 2 shipped and received so far.

I don't understand, given the cost of shipping, why my order was splitted.

Pool keeps hashing around 800 GH/s and blocks keep coming in nicely...

Now, a sign from fireduck would be the topping on the cake...
