Which is best cpu miner for this coin?

It's not public, but you can buy it from me.
Optmized miner hashes at 25H/s per core on i7 4790K, current public miner hashes at 11H/s.

I'm selling 30-40% speed boosted CPU miner, 2 BTC. Smiley
120% speed boosted, 15 BTC.

this is true

What's the current build instructions after doing git clone https://github.com/axiomcryptocurrency/axiom on CentOS 6?

depends on what it is you want to build ...

a qt wallet or daemon ...

#crysx

Qt wallet on Linux is for sissies  Grin

damn - i MUST be a sissy then Wink ...

i use them in fedora - and daemon in vps / servers ...

#crysx

Daemon please

if you have all the development tools installed - then that should be a simple build ...

cd /xxx/axiom/src/ ...
make -f makefile.unix ...

thats what you would normally do to compile the daemon ( axiomd ) ... BUT ... the devs at axiom missed a couple of very small details ...

first create two specific directories - and a specific file needs to be made executable ... i use full paths so i dont have issues - so ill illustrate that below using /chrysophylax/ as my main root path ...

mkdir /chrysophylax/axiom/src/obj/secp256k1/ ...
mkdir /chrysophylax/axiom/src/obj/secp256k1/src/ ...
chmod +x /chrysophylax/axiom/src/leveldb/build_detect_platform ...

THEN ...

cd /chrysophylax/axiom/src/ ...
make -f makefile.unix ...

when the compile finishes - there should be an axiomd file in the list ... move that axiomd file to a place you want it - and run it ...

./axiomd ...

that will create the relevant .axiom hidden folder in the users home directory ( the user you are currently logged into ) and it will start syncing ...

if there is an issue syncing ( which i had found when i first run it - for over an hour ) then use the node ip's that are listed previously ... simply change into the .axiom directory and create a file called axiom.conf ...

the contents of my file is below - but be sure to change the rpcuser and rpcpassword details ...

AXIOM developers pinged me to give an opinion on the GPU speedup of the AXIOM PoW function.

I wrote the draft of the paper about RandMemoHash back in 2013, after playing with RandMemoHash a bit. I tested it with a SINGLE GPU (that was even older), and could not get any speedup. My paper does not show any proof, not any real world comparison over several GPU models, so it is definitively unfinished. The suggested parameters are not proven to be valid for all existent GPU models (and less for future models). People should never take for granted what an non-peer-reviewed privately-published draft paper says.

I would have liked that Axiom developers would have pinged me to give an update on it before implementing it.

Having said this, I find that a 5x GPU speedup quite good resistance, considering that a GPU is generally better than a CPU in almost every task. CPUs are good at executing large programs, doing paging, protecting memory, doing I/O. Nothing that a PoW can make use of.

GPU memory system is designed for throughput, and it has generally about 6 times the bandwidth available to a CPU. RandMemoHash bottleneck is the DDR/GDDR memory bus, so that speedup can be expected.

Also you must consider power-usage in the equation: that may make it better or worse for GPU-mining.

I don't know if tweaking the parameters would improve it. Maybe using 8 MB instead of 2 MB can prevent the use of some L2 caches in some boards. But the more space you require, the slower it is to verify the PoW. And this is a cat-and-mouse race, since future models will probably increase the size of the cache.

The Axiom developers & community could collect some real world numbers and try to find an improved parameter set (if it is really needed and if there is a better one).

I wish AXIOM users the best luck.

Sergio.

Wow, straight from the horse's mouth! Thanks a lot for your input Mr. Lerner, I hope we'll see some revolutionary results from AXIOM.

but the real thing i see here is this... your dev CAN get the security  blah blah of the BITCOIN FOUNDATION to come here and do anything (HINT) why do you think he would do something for this dev whoever it is MUST be  A PEER of lerner .... see what i AM  getting at us "AXIOTS"  must be a part of something that is on that same level  WOW
can u believe it  there is magic in the air
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AXIOM] AxiomMemHash and SHABAL-256 with Schnorr Signatures - POW / POS on: July 29, 2015, 05:42:08 PM
I'm the whale that's been accumulating with that 20 btc wall. This is prime for us because there are still 1.5 weeks left for staking and it's obvious to us that these developers are skilled. Staking is netting us significantly more than any GPU miner or cpu miner. I'm hitting blocks of 60 roughly every half an hour.. What's all the fuss about. Everyone here should know by now that when the coin was listed on exchange it rose significantly in value on practically 0 news from the developer. The developer has demonstrated time and time again a massive amount of knowledge in this space. Do you really think we're accumulating at 13k for nothing? I shouldn't even be sharing this with you guys, I just was reading the ann and it astounds me how worked up people are. The coin has a built in profit model in the staking system, USE IT!

omg thats the guy that gave away like 5k on cex ask the people on cex if u think id lie

no plz dump again i was so busy being mad i forgot about $$$$$$$
There will be more dumps when you stop buying your own coins from sell order  Grin

I love how u people think im powerful it makes me feel happy ... truth is i just use most of the crypto i make to make it seem that way im actually in a very low supply
ask anyone i missed the boat

i seriously hope some one panics and dumps on me
557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AXIOM] AxiomMemHash and SHABAL-256 with Schnorr Signatures - POW / POS on: July 29, 2015, 03:12:42 PM
to be fair, we (with Myagui) also "sold" it for dev purpose to a pool owner, i guess that can be useful to test the pool settings and the difficulty Wink

The gpu speed is not so high compared to the cpu (avg 300H/s per card)... cuda is very close to a cpu (with a lot more transistors) and its normal there is an advantage from "compute cards"...

oc miner is a well loved and trusted friend of everyone involved in crypto im sure he used it only for good

i just have released cpuminer-multi v1.1 with axiom support.

https://github.com/tpruvot/cpuminer-multi/releases/tag/v1.1-multi

BCT Thread is in my signature...

About the GPU Miner, you have to know i wrote it yesterday for private use (almost 24h of non stop work), so the top 10 of suprnova is not "GPU Mining" with mine. They have this speed since beginning. And djm34 just started today to work on it
No public release will be made because its a "cpu only" coin and i respect that...

u are only sharing your gpu miner with yourself for your own gain i cant complain abt that if  i had the skills i would too  thanks for not selling it to a chinese farm so no one gets any coins
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AXIOM] AxiomMemHash and SHABAL-256 with Schnorr Signatures - POW / POS on: July 29, 2015, 02:44:36 PM
Thanks for the update @AxiomCryptocurrency, a few of us still have faith Smiley. I agree that this is a minor issue and hope it can be resolved quickly (and yes i am a newb so take it with a grain of salt).

We're more than capable of modifying the algorithm, adding in another one, or creating our own to eliminate the use of a GPU miner should it become problematic. We would rather be spending our time developing our in wallet decentralized OTC trading system, or our implementation of Curve25519. Should the time need to be spent resolving this, we'll allocate as necessary.

YEA THIS GUY IS EVEN MORE talented than (dare i say it )  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked INDUSTRIAL COIN MAGIC  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked (but icm is like a close second)
