541  Economy / Services / Re: Buy ANYTHING from AMAZON with BITCOIN at a 25% DISCOUNT - Free USA Shipping on: April 08, 2015, 01:56:59 AM
Amazon4u, perhaps you could add the information on how you get the giftcards to the first post so new comers can have a summary of what have been said on the 25 pages that you got here.
542  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Password protection - How does it work? on: April 07, 2015, 11:44:56 PM
Scenario:

I generate 1 address that relies upon one privatekey
I add a password with bitcoin-qt

The password is 2000 characters long

I give out the privatekey.

How does this password protects the bitcoin, I imagine that something needs to be saved somewhere? Enlight me pls.
If someone can find a post that talks about this let me know, I did a search and didnt found anything.

545  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Ledger Wallet on: April 07, 2015, 02:33:40 AM
...

Reynaldo

I can only speak from my experience, but I like the Ledger Nano a lot.  So far it seems to be secure (but when setting make sure you use a "clean" computer).  The price is great (some $30 (?) if I remember right).  It uses a rudimentary "2FA" (two factor authentication) which is perfectly OK if you do not use it much (that is, you should use it for cold storage rather than small frequent transactions).

The Trezor is good too, it also has a rudimentary "2FA".

Both are pretty easy to use.

I have not run into websites or discussions that prove to me that one is better than the other.  There are various links here at bitcointalk which discuss these two as well as other hardware wallets.

If you could point me to one of those thread would be good.. I saw the hardwallet post but the discussion does not go for long there.
I really enjoy technical details, I've read some on reddit but still want some more. I really would like that they add the application for a safer 2FA
546  Other / Meta / Re: Please remove the Digital Goods section on: April 07, 2015, 01:16:29 AM
I've sold some goods there and if it was removed people like me would not have a place for those kind of transactions. Enforcing rules wont do anything since we dont have that many moderators to have them checkout every thread, my recommendation would be to actually divide the sections on legitimate goods and the other one, people would buy how they want and if someone is found to be posting in the wrong section then consequences should follow.
547  Economy / Service Discussion / Ledger Wallet on: April 06, 2015, 11:30:56 PM
Is this wallet secure or not?
is there any article that claim that its not?
any insights on the development side that people should know?
Is Ledger wallet security scheme appropriate?
I've only seen good things and I'm thinking on purchasing it instead of a trezor.

Anyone that can share your experience.. please feel free to do so.

553  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What happened to AllCrypt.com!? All Coins seems to be are Stolen!!!! on: April 05, 2015, 08:50:45 PM
Any AllCrypt.com news people?

Better forget about your coins there and move on, theres zero chance you will ever get it, and thats why decentralised cryptos are having a hard time
going mainstream. Maybe if there were some regulations about it , that would change, but you all hate regulations.. so here is what you get, not the first time, and certanly not the last time.

cheers

I dont even know how do you think that we could employ a regulation on bitcoins.. We could try to make some good-security ideas or tips so people that hold bitcoins can secure them and even exchanges that hold them.

What was allcrypt about ?

556  Economy / Services / Re: Buy ANYTHING from AMAZON with BITCOIN at a 25% DISCOUNT - Free USA Shipping on: April 05, 2015, 02:32:16 PM
So as far as I can see, no problems with this service right? I am seriously considering ordering from you, the only thing that sets me back are customs and import taxes...

This guy is from Spain(European Union) and didn't pay any custom fees or import taxes for his products...you can send him a PM

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=33845

Basically it works like this...If your product has the option "send as a gift" , I am 100% sure that you will not pay any taxes...you won't have any price tags in your package and I will add a text like : "Happy birthday your name " ...no import fees are paid on gifts/presents in the European Union so you should be alright...

It does not matter if it is declared as a gift, if the price of the item (declared in the customs form) exceeds 45€ I have to pay, no matter if it is a gift with a happy birthday card or not.

but how will they know the value ? There are no price tags in the box ...I can't believe the customs employees have a value catalog for everything from toothpicks to last generation drones...because market prices vary significantly  that price catalog should be updated daily in order for them to estimate any item value....but why don't you ask "atsuky" , his headphones were at least $100 USD, so a lot more than 45 Euros...he never paid a penny on import or custom fees and he also lives in Spain (European Union)...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=33845

Usually they just check for the item on the internet or w/e... this happens to me too and I'm not in Europe.

560  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2015 Bitcoin Debit Card Reviews on: April 03, 2015, 07:03:00 PM
Neteller seems to be a really good option now.
Deposit: 0% fee with bitcoin.

You just add virtual CC or order a physical debitcard and you proceed to use it.

edit:

The fees are really high to cashout with ATM.. etc
