I'll be rooting for the Warriors, home town team.  But in all reality they are only capable of being beat by their own mistakes.

Lebron alone will not lift up the Lakers, he still needs a lot of support.  Maybe for the 2020 season I'll have a different perspective.

And really, OP?  You left the Cavilers out of your poll?  Ok, they lost their star, but Lebron was not the only talent on that team.

well, I used my nano S,
I do control that BTC address.
If I ever get hacked, I'm sure I will make it work.
Worst case scenario I can send some coins from that address thus proving I control it.

Never got hacked in 4 years, hopefully won't happen anytime soon

Use Electrum as the gui for your ledger, go to your list of public addresses, right click on the one you want to use for the signature, click "sign message".  Too easy.

Any American Football fans here?

Here's my prediction:  If Jimmy Garoppolo stays healthy the Niners will beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

The planet doesn't need saving.  It's a rock that's been here long before plastic and will be here long after all the plastic is degraded into dust.  And through out the earth's entire existence the climate has been changing.  Stop the HUMAN ego trip.  You aren't that important, on a geological scale of time.

Earth is indeed a rock, but it is our duty to protect it and respect it. Also, it is not just the use of plastic that is harming the planet, its a lot of things. Do you mean that this does not concern you at all?

Quite the contrary, I care very much.  I'm fond of our planet, its natural beauty, the woods, the jungles, and all if its animals.  I want very much to preserve the quality life we enjoy.  I reuse, recycle, compost, plant trees, grow vegetables, and I just purchase a solar panel system to install on my roof.

But semantics matter.  We don't get to save the planet anymore than we get to destroy it. We can boil the ocean, fill the atmosphere with CO2, we may all suffocate and die, we may obliterate all vegetation, but the planet will still be here, and it's climate will continue to change.

If there is life on Mars, it came from Earth.    Cool

Or, the inverse is possible.

News today says an Italian team announced they may have found a subsurface lake on mars.

If there is a liquid water lake on Mars it's likely to be as salty as the dead sea.  If so, the chances of finding life are very slim, but I'm going by what's normal here on earth.  Do you think life could exist on Mars?

It's a non-story, hyped up to keep our attention from the things that really matter, and drive a wedge between our already polarized partisan politics.

Every country with any clout is trying to influence the outcome of elections in every other country where it has interests.  The US is sponsoring protests in Iran as I type.  Is it wrong?  Is it immoral?  Is it criminal?  I don't know, but I know it's easier than trying to invade Iran, and still might allow us to get our way.

Like most Americans in their 40's with a little time to kill I like forums, that's why I'm here.  Whether it's motorcycles, mountain bikes, hunting, guns, Ford trucks, or bitcoin, I like discussing my hobbies on forums.

But this one is unique.  It's not just a hobby forum, like it may have started out (I don't know, I wasn't here.)  It's become its own economy, and created an opportunity for many people to earn an income.  That brings about a lot of headaches for the administration.  I can only imagine what the founders and owners of this forum go through on a daily basis.  Like most people here I value freedom and privacy, and as an admin I'm sure Theymos does also.  But therein lies the rub.

How much freedom is too much for the forum's best interest?  What type of restrictions and controls are acceptable, and not likely to turn away new subscribers?  The economy of this forum has built itself upon the ability of the forum to attract new members, and it attracts sponsors who need to advertise to them.  So, whatever decisions are made in that regard are bound to have a significant impact.

The truth is that I came here to learn about bitcoin, and stuck around because I like forums.  But, I know I'm an endangered species.  There are a plethora of other websites one can visit to learn about crypto, this ain't the only game in town anymore.

And now add in all the SPAM-N-SCAM.  It's hard to differentiate between what's legitimate and what's a con.  Even the legitimate ICOs are obviously being shilled by people paid to reply in their threads.  I am a fairly skeptical guy and can take care of myself, but I also want to look out for those I love.  As a result, I don't know that I would recommend this site to friends and family who want to learn about crypto.  And that should be seen as a tragedy by the administration here.

Just my two bits.

- On its settings, only "CyberSec" is ON.

That is your problem.  NordVPN's CyberSec tool attempts to block advertisements, and as we all know this forum is a SPAMFEST.

There could be more Copper Members hiding here than you may realize.  The badge doesn't have to be worn, it can be hidden.

Wow that's going back in time a bit... Fair point some of that was copied but it was only initially with the intention of backing up my point of view with stats and I obviously got lazy.

There's nothing wrong with copying other people's work to help support your point, but make sure you supply a reference to the original work, and give the actual writer the credit they deserve.
5559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why do we trust hardware wallet manufacturers? on: July 23, 2018, 05:58:13 PM
I wonder about the physical bitcoins as well.  It wouldn't be hard for those who make the coins to keep a list of all the private keys they have generated and etched onto the coin.  I fear that one day we may all wake up and find our physical bitcoins are worth nothing more than the weight of the material from which they are made.

I think the only way to truly be secure is to create the private key using an off-line PC, engrave it onto a piece of material that will withstand any natural disaster, while keeping it safe from prying eyes, and do it all yourself.

5560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Any Trusted BTC Wallet? on: July 23, 2018, 05:26:07 PM
You can use blockchain wallet.
Blockchain is a wallet that works peer to peer transaction method that's why it cannot be hacked and it is also more secured than all other wallets.
I use blockchain wallet. You can use it but you have to careful. Don't give your password to anyone.

Thank you.

I think you're confusing "blockchain" and "blockchain.info" (or blockchain.com, now.)  Blockchain is a technology that cannot be hacked.
Blockchain.com is a web wallet, which can indeed be hacked.

I use electrum, and a KeepKey.

The most secure wallet is a private key that's been engraved into a piece of titanium.  One of my bucket list projects...
