561  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: March 20, 2014, 08:49:26 PM
Here's the thing.  Does anyone thing any of these will ROI even with the hosted hashing for six months or whatever?  I can't see it.  As soon as BFL and KNC start shipping the difficulty is going to skyrocket again.  But even in this lull (If you want to call it that) where the difficulty isn't rising that rapidly, these miners don't return on the investment at all.

I know Black Arrow can't provide the additional hashing power to us to make that work in our benefit, but something needs to be done to mitigate the losses.  Heavy discounts on new purchases or something so I can make up the difference on a future order or something.  I dunno...  Sell me one of those Lightcoin machines at cost.  Something like that.

Or beef up the hash rate a lot more on the hosted side.  Something else has to happen or we're all screwed.  At least those of us that haven't got refunds coming.
562  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: March 20, 2014, 08:35:43 PM
I bought an initial contract but this forum thread brings up good points.  I won't be investing further until the company is properly vetted.  There is no good reason to just hide the information about your operation unless something is up.  I'm going to just follow the same pattern and hide my money from them.  Seems fair.
563  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 20, 2014, 04:17:08 PM
Does anyone still think this is ok?  Honestly?

Ken took in millions of dollars.  Instead of investing that into mining equipment, he blew it all on god-knows-what.  No custom chip at all.  No 55nm, no 28nm.  Nothing.  He has what is left, which appears to be very little, and is buying 200th in mining equipment.  Part of it is being used to refund the people on VMC.  So we end up using our money for that B.S. now too.  Great.  Like how that worked out for us.

Anyone find it odd that the board mines at 600gh and is a PC slotted board?  The timeline also falls in-line when BFL is "supposed" to start shipping.  Are these just rebranded Monarchs?  Maybe not, but it's an odd coincidence that they are coming off the assembly line at the same time with the same hash rate.

Also, because he said that 100th comes now, and 100th comes later.  It makes me think that he's going to get the bonus board (The free extra one for BFL being late) at the end of the shipping queue.  Which would explain the division in getting some now and some later.

Man, I realize that's pure speculation but it adds up.

Lets say Ken bought 100 Black Arrow miners at $5,000 a piece (Retail).  That would give you 200th.  The total cost would be $500,000.  That's what was left to do this?  Wow...

If it IS Monarchs, I wonder when the order was placed, as I can see the real "two weeks" being months from now when all of this hardware is worthless.

I don't think I'll ever see my shares, I think Ken doesn't have the tender list.  Even if he does, he's never going to do it.  He can't even respond to questions properly, why would he sit and and organize that kind of thing?  I can't see it happening.  I guess it's good that Ken just didn't vanish and leave town like so many other Bitcoin company failures.  There's that...

Don't preorder hardware.
565  Economy / Securities / Re: [Havelock] RentalStarter - A Midwest Real Estate Investment Company on: March 19, 2014, 05:13:36 PM
At some point though you grow to where people are calling you right?  Who manages repairs when the toilet overflows or a door falls off?  Someone calls and you have to dispatch a service to repair this stuff don't you?  Or is every property you rent out just a situation where you do nothing and the owner has to deal with all their own repairs.  (I can't see how that would work really, but what do I know?)  I mean at ten properties it's not a big deal.  At 500 properties your phone is going to ring all day and night.
566  Economy / Securities / Re: [Havelock] RentalStarter - A Midwest Real Estate Investment Company on: March 19, 2014, 04:04:18 PM
Branny,

I'm curious, how is your ability to manage all these properties?  It appears you're one dude right now.  As this outfit grows, you will need to bring on more people.  Employees can suck a lot of cash out of a business.  At what point do you see yourself adding employees.  For instance, how many properties do you reach before this becomes a situation where you need help, and what do you think the loss would be.  Like, if you had 25 properties and had to bring someone on for $40,000 a year (Health Insurance, Unemployment Insurance, Social Security, blah blah blah) figuring some properties require investment to modernize and keep-up, and some are in transition.  Have you factored that kind of cost into your future growth analysis?  I'm just curious how you plan to grow as an operation.

567  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: March 19, 2014, 03:54:44 PM
I think speculating on what might be a completely fake and bogus story is pointless.

What people need to know is what LRM is doing with the new hardware.  If that hardware is not distributed to the bond holders as agreed, then lawsuits should happen.  I only invested a handful of coins, so I'm not going after him.  It wouldn't be worth it.  Those of you though that spent thousands should reach out to your lawyers to discuss options and see if it's worthwhile to go after him.  (It may not be.)

If, on the other hand, LabRat comes in here and says that he's going to start distributing the new hardware profits to the bond holders as agreed, then there isn't any reason for a lawsuit.

So really, it comes down to that more than anything else.  Maintaining silence after we know he's received the hardware means he intends to keep it for himself, and so should be sued.  It's pretty cut and dry.  The rest of the speculation is interesting but does shareholders little good.
568  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 19, 2014, 03:37:23 PM
So no evidence of anything.

Not a word about our shares.  So the news is pointless.  How does he plan to distribute the profits from these miners if we don't have our shares?

How did this recover the eASIC NRE?

It's pretty obvious to me that Ken took what money he got back eASIC, refunded whatever preorders there were and put the remainder into some bulk purchase of chips.  I doubt he talked to Avalon.  These are probably Terraminers.  I don't think there is a custom chip.  He likely bought someone else's stuff and he's going to mine with it.

If it happens quickly enough, could stand to gain some coin since BFL, Black Arrow, and KNC are late.  But if "two weeks" turns into "four weeks" then Black Arrow is shipping and if BFL is shipping (Not likely knowing them) then it's a wash.  10,000+ Monarchs going out the door plus god-knows-how-many hosting contracts they sold.  Plus you still have Bitmain's new miner that they are releasing at the end of the month, though it's currently not profitable to buy it.  Knowing them they'll cut the price aggressively.

So if it happens in two weeks...  We make some money.  Anything after that will make 200th feel like 200gh today.
569  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 18, 2014, 07:05:27 PM
Who cares what the plan is?  I'm being serious.  Good news would normally allow us to have a nice boost in the share value.  But because we don't have access to our shares, the good news is going to mean that when we finally do get our shares the value will just go down if it peaks with the good news.

We all (Including me) need to stop speculating and demand access to our shares.  This is ridiculous waiting around for colored coins or a legal filing when there are actively traded shares on CT right now!  It's complete B.S. that we have to wait for those other two things while anyone new jumping in to grab shares can ignore those problems and trade away.

The "news" does nothing for anyone here that hasn't bought new shares on CT.  Which I am sure is most everyone reading this thread.

We all have nothing right now.  Nothing.  So what if Ken comes on and says he has a new super chip that runs at 20nm and can also fold your laundry.  It's a zero sum game folks.  We get nothing without our shares.

From my understanding of UPS and Fedex, you have to call them and tell them you want all packages that are delivered to require a signature.  In order to speed up delivery, they automatically assume that packages can have their signatures waived if left on the porch.  You have to specifically ask them to require it.
571  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 17, 2014, 06:16:18 PM
Anyone can have insider knowledge.  It's only a crime if they change stock positions with that knowledge.
572  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 17, 2014, 02:42:15 PM
From all I can tell, the "insiders" simply have picked up the phone and called Ken and Ken told them stuff.  That stuff may be true, or it may be false.  Until Ken gives us physical proof that what he says is real, I am taking all of this with a grain of salt.  The guy says lots of things for people to get excited about.  A year later and none of them have materialized.  If this is now going to happen I guess we'll find out, but I have a feeling the update will be more words and no proof.

What I find upsetting is that supposedly there is an investigation going on (Which we've seen no proof of) and a desire to wait on Colored Coins (Which aren't ready) to allow us to have access to our shares.  Let's be realistic.  Even if Ken came on today and said they had new product and it's shipping right now, our shares are worthless because we do not have access to them.

We all come in here and argue about what Ken is or isn't doing, but really outside of the people who bought the NEW shares everyone else has NOTHING.  We don't get anything from good news.  Good news is good for who?  Ken?  It's not good for me, I have none of the shares I paid for.  I have very vague mentions of when I might have access to them.

So for all the news and tower of awesome Ken might be building, it's completely worthless to everyone here if we don't have access to our shares.

We can't have a vote unless we know how many folks are invested in this, thus the need for a spreadsheet.  If the guy is too lazy to make a spreadsheet, how is going to be trusted to send payouts?

574  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 13, 2014, 09:42:22 PM
Only if he provides some proof ZZ
575  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: March 13, 2014, 08:08:57 PM
You're asking for a legal document.  Who said any of this is legal?  Loan Sharking isn't legal but some people make money at it.
576  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 13, 2014, 07:57:40 PM
But only if everything you were told is true.  See any evidence of what you were being told?
577  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: GROUP BUY [KNC Neptune-DayONE] [.6 Per share Sold Out] on: March 13, 2014, 05:05:27 PM
lmontrose doesn't check this thread.  You have to PM him, which sends him an email.  Responding here does not send him an email and apparently he doesn't have time to check this forum.

Beyond that, if he's legit is anyone's guess.  He never provided the list and has remained quiet about everything so it could be a scam but he still logs into this forum.
578  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 13, 2014, 04:57:08 PM
I won't buy any more shares until the shares I do have I have access to.

My bot just vanished from Chrome.  How do I get it back?  It's not disabled or anything, it's like it just decided to uninstall itself.
580  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: March 12, 2014, 07:31:50 PM
I don't think anyone here should lawyer up, report anything or do anything legally until something at least happens that actually defrauds you.  Since the new hardware has not gone online yet, the most that has happened is everyone has gained an increase in hashing power from I believe 280mh to 300mh.

It's primarily about next steps beyond that, which we're all waiting to hear about.  In the short term, everyone needs to chill out and wait to hear what is going to happen.
